Hematuria (blood in urine) can indicate various conditions, and when detected beyond trace amounts, requires further investigation through tests like kidney ultrasound and cystoscopy; while some cases are idiopathic (no identifiable cause), medical evaluation is essential to rule out serious conditions and ensure appropriate treatment.

My First Urology AppointmentAdded:
Hi everyone, I'm Felicia. Welcome to my YouTube channel. Today is Wednesday, May 27th, and I had a doctor's appointment today. I was referred to go see a urologist, and so that's where I went.
I'm at the urologist and have my little one with me. I just gave my urine sample and I never really looked at my urine like ever. I just flush it and I was a little concerned.
I'm just going to leave it at that. Um, did not look normal and I see now why I'm here.
I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that everything is going to be okay.
All right. Now, we wait for them to look at it. So basically uh I had my urine examined and they found a moderate amount of microscopic blood in my urine.
And anything more than a trace amount is worth uh investigating further. And so I will be getting an ultrasound of my kidneys.
And I'll also be getting something called a cystoscopy, which is going to be where they insert a camera of my urethra. And they're going to look inside of my bladder and see what's going on in there. And these tests may find nothing. and that is okay if they don't find anything. That's obviously what I'm hoping.
But um it's definitely something we want to know um about sooner than later if there is something more serious going on. But it's possible that the blood in my urine is idiopathic, meaning there is no cause. And apparently it's not uncommon for people to have blood in their urine.
And so I'm hoping that's the case for me. I'm definitely going to try to be optimistic about it and not assume the worst.
You know, when I was younger, I had a really bad habit of catastrophizing everything. I had terrible anxiety. But now, I really feel comforted knowing that God has a plan. and I trust in it and I'm not scared honestly one way or the other, but I'm certainly hoping for the best case scenario so that um I can be healthy and continue to be, you know, a good mom for my daughter and a good wife to my husband. So, I'm sure it's nothing serious. It's more likely that it's not anything serious. So, I'll be getting those tests done. Um, the cystoscopy is scheduled for next month and so at some point in the next few weeks, I need to go um to the imaging lab and get the the ultrasound done. Before I had my doctor's appointment, uh my daughter had an ABA session here at home and this time the supervisor was present and uh it was a good session. It was productive. Once my daughter starts school in a couple of months, I'm considering cancelling ABA. But uh I'll keep it going through the summer and we'll see um you know what what I feel like doing when the time comes. I do know my daughter enjoys it, so I'm not going to cancel it quite yet. Um, but I know that she'll probably be really tired after school and so I don't know if um adding on sessions after school will be beneficial or not. It's going to be a full day of of school, so we shall see. My daughter did a drawing today that was really good. I was quite impressed. She's only three and she did a really great drawing. It's supposed to be Chase from Paw Patrol.
And she did the ears, the nose, the eyes, the mouth, the body, the arms, and legs. I mean, she did a full character, and I'm really proud of her drawing. I feel like her Chase drawing is really great, especially for only being 3 years old. I'm a proud mama.
I am really exhausted today. It's weird because I feel like I've been getting enough sleep.
I've just been so tired. I'm hoping once I start exercising more, I'm going to be able to get more energy. I should probably try to get up early and exercise in the morning because I don't really know when else I'm going to have time to do it.
Hopefully tomorrow. Uh today just wasn't a good day. But um I don't necessarily need to exercise every single day, especially starting out. I think just a couple days a week is a good starting point. So, uh hopefully tomorrow will be my my first day exercising.
Anyway, my husband's going to be home soon, so I'm going to get started on dinner. Uh thank you for watching my vlog today. Sorry it was kind of short.
I'll see you guys tomorrow. Bye.
