The video reduces a complex cultural hub to a mere discount bin for Western tourists seeking cheap thrills. It prioritizes the spectacle of "chaos" over any meaningful understanding of the local socio-economic reality.

I Explored The Busiest Market In Delhi 🇮🇳 (Absolute Chaos)
Added:India's the best.
>> [cheering] >> I cannot believe I bought these for £3.
Today I am exploring one of the biggest markets in India. This is my favorite market I have ever been to. The good thing about buying loads of different street food in one video, I don't know which one I get food poisoning from.
I'll take it. I'll race you. Let's go.
Welcome back. If you're new here, I'm Max and this is my second day in New Delhi, India. This place is absolutely insane. The chaos. And today we are exploring one of the busiest and most overcrowded markets in the whole of India. I am so excited. We are going to first going to change some money and then once I have some cash, we're going to get a tuk-tuk and head to the market.
This place is insane. Look how many cars and tuk-tuks there are.
Look, all the way back as far as the eye can see.
Oh, did I just get pooed on by a bird?
Oh, I did as well.
I've only just realized it. I got pooed all over. What a way to start the day. I just changed some money and they gave me the exchange rate of 105. That's decent.
I have got a Uber to this market. Yo.
Hi, man.
Cool. Let's do it. I hate being on the back of other people's motorbikes.
I'd happily drive on my own here, but on the back of someone else's [music] when I'm in not in control.
Oh.
>> [music] >> I'm I'm down the real little street.
Once I finish [music] at this market, I will be going to that market next cuz it looks amazing. I'm going to go check that thing out. I'm going to pay the guy. Thank you.
What's up? I'll take it.
What's up? Yeah, man. What is it?
Mosque?
>> Yeah, it's mosque.
>> Ah, can I video inside?
>> Yeah, yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> You go up here and get a ticket.
>> Thanks, man.
>> You can go inside.
>> Yeah, yeah, yeah.
>> Look.
>> Yeah.
>> You come back here.
>> Yeah, yeah, yeah.
>> Excuse me.
>> Yeah.
>> You want to go to mosque?
>> Yeah.
>> You have to come back.
>> Yeah.
>> You want to go to rickshaw, Indian helicopter?
>> I'm going to the market.
>> Market this way. You want to rickshaw to spice market, Johnny check market, wedding market, silver market, sari market, clothing every good market here.
>> Nice one.
>> Nice. Hey, brother.
>> Yo.
>> Haggling?
>> Yeah, man.
>> Mosque.
>> Yes.
>> [laughter] >> All right, let's see this mosque.
>> You have to take off that thing now, man.
>> My shoes off?
400, yeah, man.
Beautiful.
Nice one.
Woah. I think that was worth £4.
This is the Jama Masjid in Old Delhi, one of the largest mosques in India.
>> [music] >> It was built more than 350 years ago by the same emperor who built the Taj Mahal and took thousands of workers years to complete. The mosque is famous for its huge open courtyard, giant towers, and beautiful red stone walls. A crazy fact many people don't know is that the courtyard can hold around 25,000 people at once during big prayers. and during the Mughal Empire, the mosque was so important that the royal announcements were once made here for the people of Delhi. Look at that. It says, "Music video shoots is strictly prohibited in the mosque."
They must have had a problem with loads of people making like music videos there. I'm not even going to go in with the camera, just to be respectful.
Oh, yeah. That is where the market is.
Now, we are going to head into that crazy, crazy market we saw earlier.
Very cool to see. Good luck getting through this.
It is actually so crazy, this. This definitely is one of the craziest places I've been, most definitely.
And it is annoying at times, but I tell you, I kind of love the chaos. Oh my golly, golly, gosh. Look how busy it is.
Insane.
And I found the entrance.
Jeez, man.
Let's go.
Oh, hello. Are these the Yeah, yeah, big size.
Hello.
But I want no, I want a better color.
>> Best color?
>> Maybe >> Maybe yellow.
>> Okay?
>> Try it.
>> You got red?
Red like this. I like that one.
You got this one, no?
>> This one color. This one color. Okay?
This one color.
Big size.
>> Yeah, how much is this? What's the price?
>> 750.
>> 700?
>> 750. 750.
>> 750?
>> Big fan.
Okay?
>> With the fans.
Can we do 500?
>> No.
600.
>> If it's good, six. Good.
Yeah.
Maybe one size bigger.
>> This I know.
>> I think I actually like this color more than the black, as well.
It's a little bit more spicy.
>> [laughter] >> Oh, perfect, man.
I'll take it.
Do I have Do I have to wear the trousers with this, or is it okay? What do you think?
>> Somebody people is you like this trousers or somebody people >> can just wear the top. Okay, cool. Yeah.
Nice one, man.
>> [laughter] >> I look good, yeah?
Thank you.
Very nice.
Yes. [laughter] Perfect.
Oh, I look good now.
All right.
>> [laughter] >> Gosh. Oh, it's raining.
Yes, everyone's looking at me. They're just thinking, "Wow, that guy looks good."
Yeah, man. Nice one.
Oh, now this one.
Yeah, [laughter] very nice. Nice one, man. And this is a wild, wild, wild place. We will get some of this.
Looks nice.
>> One plate, 100. Five is six.
>> 100.
Okay.
Cool.
I don't want to I don't want to get my new my new thing dirty.
Very nice.
>> Beef, beef.
>> Yeah, yeah. What's your name?
Okay.
All right.
>> What is your name?
>> Max.
>> Max?
>> Max. And you?
>> Mohammed Sufian.
>> Mohammed Sufian. Ah, very cool. Woo, I'm ready. Food has arrived. Do you have Perfect.
>> Okay. Okay.
>> Ooh, that is perfect.
Let's give this a try.
So, this is beef.
That's very undercooked.
All right, let's give it a try.
That is very good. Thank you very much.
That was spicy, and I am a complete wuss with spice.
Yo.
Everybody wants to speak to you, and they ask "Where are you from? How old are you?
How long have you been in India? What do you think of India?" Everybody asked it.
I've probably answered them questions 30 times already. And it's nice, but after 30 times, you're like, "Just leave me alone."
Yeah, I love the chaos.
Right, let's keep shopping.
Yeah, you got gold.
Nice, man.
How much one of these?
>> 150.
>> Nice one.
Oh, falafel.
Falafel.
Beef falafel. Oh.
Oh, no. No, not this. This.
No, I'd rather just have this. Only this. Only Yeah.
Yeah.
The half fried.
No, but I want the >> bro.
I don't want these. I want this.
That's enough.
Nice one.
So, the good thing about buying loads of different street food in one video, I don't know which one I get food poisoning in from, but I'm pretty sure I'll get food poisoning in from at least one of these. Why did I eat that street food yesterday?
Let's give it a try. I need to find somewhere to put the camera. I bet it is even more crazy here.
I bet it is even more crazy when it is not raining here.
All right, let's give it a try. Beef falafel.
Yeah, that's actually pretty good.
That is definitely better than the skewers I had.
I was asking him, "Where do I put the rubbish?" And he was like, "Oh, just throw it behind there. Throw it behind there." I'm like, "Bro, I can't. I physically can't do it."
Oh, vapes.
Oh, yeah, second-hand vapes. Very nice.
I'm not going to lie, I do like a good vape, but I hate myself for liking them.
I don't allow myself to buy them.
>> Thank you.
>> Oh, clothes.
Oh, cool belt.
Oh, no way.
That's sick.
No, that's very cool.
They do love their H&M yesterday when I was going around doing a video. Saw loads of people selling them. I saw shorts as well.
I think he thought I was just going to flash it him.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, that's sick. them.
Um, can I try?
Oh, what do we think?
How much 100?
Let's give it a try.
You know what? They're not even that bad. I'm going to get them.
Yeah, man. Cool.
There we go.
Oh, yeah. I'm ready. No, no, no.
All right.
How good do I look now?
>> [laughter] >> I hate glasses. I have never worn glasses in my life, but I just I feel like it's a good moment. I feel like it's right.
And literally, they were 100. That is less than 1 euro.
>> Hello.
>> Hello. How are you?
>> I'm fine.
>> Good, man.
Yes.
Hey, man.
How much are these?
How much? The price?
>> 400.
>> 400?
Quite cheap, actually.
Um No, no, not them ones.
Um, do you have any in 45?
>> 45?
>> Yeah.
>> Looking smart looking.
So nice.
New looking.
>> Yeah, yeah.
>> Smart looking.
Smart.
>> All right.
>> Nice.
>> Cool, man. I'll think about it. Thank you.
Wow, that is stupid cheap.
400 That's like Let me do Let me Let me work that out real quick.
That is £3.25 I have to buy some.
I have to buy some just for the video.
£3.25 That is insane. That is stupid cheap.
I'm back already.
Yeah, man. Ooh, you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to buy some and then I'm going to give them away. So, what is a nice shoe?
Uh no, no. I'll look I'll look. It's all right. Maybe like a black pair of Nikes.
Oh, there there there there. I like them.
Yeah, cool, man. These are good.
Oh.
Go on then. Go on then. Oh, okay.
Woah.
All right. All right. Relax, bro.
Okay.
All right. Got my glasses on.
Looking good.
Woah.
Oh my gosh.
Yo. Woah.
Let's have a look. What you got?
Look at these. £3 What we got? Ooh, they're not bad trousers, actually.
Yeah.
How much?
Oh, no. I don't want them that much. No, no. It's all right. Thank you.
No, no. I know. But it's yeah. But bro, I bought these.
How much do you think I paid?
350 >> Oh, you are a >> That's crazy, bro.
I'm so surprised about these.
Hey, Yorkshire lad abroad. It's very long.
Uh, England.
What is it?
No, no, I'm all right. Thank you.
Thank you.
Oh my gosh. I cannot believe I bought these for £3 odds.
Don't get me wrong, they're not my size, but I'll happily give them away to someone.
Oh, no. I'll put the glove It's all just gone silent.
>> [laughter] [cheering] [laughter] >> They started screaming and everyone just went silent.
Wild.
Oh, man, that was so funny.
Yo, good.
Yo, yo, yo.
Oh my gosh, this is my favorite market I have ever been to. I cannot believe how cheap these shoes were, really.
Wild.
Absolutely wild.
And this is only one of the markets we're going to today. That was mad though. Everyone started screaming and then everyone else just went silent. A lot of people are laughing at me because I think they think that I'm not wearing anything under this.
And we are back. That is the mosque there. So, we have been all around that market. Now, we are going to the big spice market. I think it's about a 20-minute walk, something like that.
It's quite far.
But, I reckon get a little tuk-tuk thing.
We'll see. They're selling kiwis here, and it's only 100 for a big pack. So, we're going to do it.
Yeah, makes you strong.
Thank you.
Again, that is stupid cheap. That is 1 euro, so like 85 p for seven kiwis. Oh, do I get a haircut?
You know what? I really would love to for the video, but they ain't cutting my hair. I'm not letting that happen. Maybe I get a shave one day. I'm going to grow it out, and then I'll get someone to shave it. Next, I'm going to go to the spice market. I just asked someone, and it is down here and to the right.
It is mad. You see so many people with like missing arms and legs and stuff. I don't know how it happens, but there are like like a lot a lot a lot of people.
If anyone knows, please tell me in the comments, cuz I don't have a clue. I just checked in that gold and silver shop, because if you've been watching, I did a buying gold video a couple of weeks ago in Turkey, and the price So, it's 126. So, that is pretty much the price I paid. Currently, gold is about 115 a gram.
Yeah, it's 126 a gram there. I'm going to I'm going to the spice market.
No, no, it's on my right arm.
Thank you.
Jeez, rude.
As soon as you stop, it's like, "Oh, I've got him."
Spice market.
This way?
Thank you. I'm walking. I'm walking.
No, I'm walking.
>> Yeah, strong legs. That can walk.
I'll race you. Let's go. Come on, man.
See, I'm beating him.
Oh, I bet I can actually walk him.
Right, where is this spice market then?
>> [music] >> No, bro. No. I'm walking.
Oh, I've been enough taxis and stuff.
It's like a kilometer, less than that. I can walk it. Oh my golly gosh, I just walked past this. I have to go in, 100%.
Really?
Oh my gosh, people just fighting to get past.
What do they sell in here?
I'm at a little bit of an advantage because I'm tall. In places like this, it does come in very handy.
I'm on.
>> You are from?
>> England.
>> England.
>> You like it? Yeah, man.
Yes.
Nice to meet you.
Okay, back out.
Hello. Hi five.
>> I am fine.
>> Good.
>> [laughter] >> People are so nice here, really.
Hello.
Literally, like when I film stuff like this in other places, I'm not going to say places, but it's always people angry that I'm videoing. I don't think I've had anyone yet say like stop videoing or anything.
Very nice.
And the glasses go back on, back in style. If you know me, I'm not lying. I have never worn glasses in my life.
Right, I've seen this. I don't know what it is. Hi, man.
What is it?
Maybe not, you know.
I was thinking about it, and then I was like, "Nah, no, I'm okay. Thank you."
Nah, I don't think I can stomach it right now. Holy moly.
Oh my gosh.
I'm racing him. I'm winning.
>> [laughter] >> Gosh.
Yeah, man. Nice one.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's go.
I could have whooped these guys in a race. I was starting to think that I went the wrong way, that I wasn't going to find it, but I just asked someone, and they said 100 m that way.
So, that's why there's so many of these cycle carts. You're not allowed to drive here from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
That makes sense.
That's why the guys on scooters just fly by and get through as fast as possible.
So, smell-wise, not that smelly, but some to honestly, like they have been public toilets, and you can smell them from way across the street. That is one big bag of rice.
Right, I think that is the spice market.
Let's do it.
Hello. Have a nerve for spice markets here.
Oh, no, it's under the mosque.
I just stopped at this guy's market, and yeah, yeah, yeah. So, look at this.
There's no filter at all in it. That is insane.
Well, I've asked another person, and straight, then left. We will get there eventually.
Ooh, seems like we are getting closer and closer.
All right.
There we go.
They're not spices, but they are It is a market.
What is this?
Oh, to clean.
Cool.
To take dead skin off your heels.
Oh, very cool, man. If you watched my video from last week that was yesterday, I bought a little cooking stove. And last night, I didn't video it, but I nearly set myself on fire about literally three times. It exploded.
It's like a little bit first, then a little bit bigger, and then it like proper [music] set on fire. And yeah, it was not great. So, I'm going to try to take it back and switch it for another one.
Jeez, man. Trying to kill me.
>> [laughter] >> Oh, that's spices.
Oh, they are all chilies.
Oh, yeah. That's definitely strong.
Yeah, man. Thank you.
Ooh.
Yo.
Thank you, yeah. Yeah, very good.
The best.
Yeah. India is the best. India the best.
Ooh.
>> Your hand my foot is >> Huh?
>> Your hand. Your hand.
>> Yeah.
>> Put my hand.
>> No, no, no.
>> I'm okay. Thank you.
I don't want to put my hand on his head.
I know I've said this about 20 times already in this video, maybe more. Look how insane this place is.
What What is it? What do you eat? I'm curious. What What What are you eating?
I want to try it.
He just ate something in the little packet.
It's good for you.
Oh, tobacco.
That's why he's saying, "Ah, okay."
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah. No, no, I understand tobacco now. I was curious. Thank you.
Ah, so he's chewing tobacco.
I've never tried that before.
Not in this video though. I've got a long time left in India. In many parts of India, cows are seen as sacred animals and are seen as a symbol of life, kindness, and care.
I don't know what that guy was saying.
This way.
Oh, it's not that far.
Oh, there's got too many people.
It's not even that far. It's like a half an hour walk.
That's not even bad. No, no, it's fine.
I can walk. Thank you.
>> [music] >> No, no, I'm going back to my hotel.
Yeah, man.
Ah, it's only like half an hour walk.
Let me check if that's right. I I think it is.
But if it is, I'll definitely just walk it.
Oh my golly, golly gosh.
Ooh, should we give him a hand?
Yeah, man.
Let's go.
>> [music] >> Let's go.
And I'm not just doing this for the video. Yesterday, in the tuk-tuk, the guy was helping everyone out.
So, yeah.
He gave me inspiration to do this.
Ooh.
Keep going.
Right, it's a 40-minute walk.
And honestly, I can't really be bothered. I'm going to get a taxi of of some sorts.
Ooh, another market.
We are going to find somewhere to wait for a taxi.
Ooh, could we get the train?
Maybe I could get the train, you know.
Right, I'm going to figure out if I can get the train. That could be cool. Nah, it takes 45 minutes on the train or 30-minute walk in.
I'm going to I'm going to just Oh, sorry, mate.
I'm just going to try get a taxi or something. Whoa, dates.
Whoa, 150.
That is cheap.
Earlier, the guy that dropped me off on the bike, it was like half an hour trip, and it was only 50. That's like 50 p or 40 p.
So, I gave him 100 and he was very happy. So, I'm more than happy to pay like 100 for a half an hour trip on a bike.
Hello. Hi.
>> Hello.
>> Where is it?
Right, I need to actually figure a way to get or I'm going to be walking.
Right, I give up. I am walking. It's a 35-minute walk and I'm guessing it's going to be pretty much the same time if I wait for an Uber.
And it's free if I walk.
I'm so tight.
Oh my golly gosh and we'll see more of Delhi.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Wild. I actually think I could get there before a tuk-tuk could.
That's worth a stop. We got monkeys.
Ooh.
>> [laughter] >> Not sure about them. Yesterday in my video, they were really not happy with me.
Why? Why? Why? Why are you beeping like that? It's not going to speed you up at all.
Go.
I'm a con now. I do need to give these shoes to someone. I don't know.
I need to find someone that will have the same size feet. Yo.
Good. How are you?
>> your country?
>> England.
>> England?
>> Yeah.
Good. How are you?
>> How are you, money?
>> England.
Max.
>> Max?
>> Yeah. And you?
>> I shoot. Shoot.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
>> [screaming] [crying] >> Say India is the best.
We're going to say India is the best.
>> India is the >> I'll go like this.
>> India is >> Okay. Ready?
3 2 1 India is the >> [cheering] [screaming] [laughter] >> Thank you, guys. Thank you.
>> Bye-bye.
>> Bye-bye. Yeah.
>> [laughter] >> That is actually so fun.
England.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah. Bye-bye. Bye-bye.
Bye-bye. [screaming] Bye-bye.
Max.
>> [laughter] >> Oh my god.
It's okay. It's okay, man. It's okay.
Relax.
>> [laughter] >> I think I just got the kids in trouble.
Oh, I don't even think I'm walking the right way. I got a bit carried away with myself there.
Can we get past?
Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Geez.
What is it? it ain't mine? That guy just nearly got run over by that bus.
>> [music] [music] [music] >> I got some food from here last night and it was pretty good. I think I might get some more. Yeah, yesterday it took a long time for him to make my food. So, I'm going to go back and get it. But, I just got some wild stuff. I got chicken fried rice, chicken and egg noodles, and also something that he recommended. I don't have a clue, to be honest.
Yes, now I am so excited to eat that. It was actually really good last night, but it was way too spicy. Oh my gosh, that was absolutely insane. That could be one of the best shopping videos I have ever done. Like, it was so exciting.
Everybody was so nice. I had an amazing time. Right, I'm going to go get that food. I'll show you that and we also need to give them shoes away. Cool, so I've come out to get the food and I think I found someone that's going to have the shoes. Looking good.
>> [laughter] >> Nice one.
>> I'm good.
>> Yeah, yeah.
>> Nice shoes.
>> Ah, very nice.
>> [laughter] >> Ah, my friend. A guy like that is really working hard, standing there all day selling fruit, making not much.
Enjoy the shoes, bro. You will never guess how much this food cost. So, chicken and egg fried rice, fried noodles and chicken, and I don't even know what this is, but the guy recommended it in the shop. It was 510.
That is £4.14.
That is insane.
I hope you enjoyed the video. If you did, please like, comment, subscribe, and join me in the next one.
