Micronesia is a remote Pacific archipelago comprising hundreds of islands across four states (Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei, and Kosrae), known for its extraordinary cultural traditions including the Kakoa Aada ant stimulation practice in Pohnpei, the Rai stone monetary system in Yap, and the unique burial tradition of Kalaba. The region also contains remarkable natural phenomena such as the world's highest concentration of color blindness in Pingelap Island (10-30% of population) due to genetic isolation from a 1775 typhoon, and Nan Madol's mysterious ancient city with 50-ton basalt blocks whose construction method remains unexplained. The Marshall Islands represent the most radioactive location on Earth due to 67 nuclear tests conducted between 1946-1958, while Nauru faces existential threats from climate change as one of the lowest-lying island nations.

Real Life In MICRONESIA, The MYSTERIOUS ISLANDS Where They See in BLACK AND WHITEAdded:
[music] There are many cultures with extraordinary traditions, but surely you would never have imagined that there is a remote island where ants are used to stimulate women in intimate relationships.
In this new uncensored world [music] video, we are going to know in more detail Micronesia, one of the most remote [music] and unknown, but at the same time most extraordinary countries on the planet. Micronesia, an archipelago with traditions as surprising as that of the Ponipe tribe, who stimulate [music] their partners with the help of a tool as unusual as ant bites. An idyllic [music] place with such extraordinary curiosities as having an island where its inhabitants see in black and white [music] due to the disaster caused by a typhoon and the former leader of the tribe. containing the most radioactive and dangerous island [music] for life. An ancient city whose construction science still fails to understand or the custom of burying their loved ones in the backyard of some of their homes. Pay attention and don't miss this video because we assure you that discovering Micronesia with us will surprise you. Let's get started.
Micronesia, although many do not know it, is a group of small islands scattered in the Pacific Ocean that is part of Oceanania. Although its land area is quite small compared to other nations, Micronesia covers a vast oceanic area [music] which makes it a fascinating destination full of mysteries and curiosities that captivate [music] anyone who visits it as you are about to see.
Located in the western region of the Pacific Ocean, Micronisia is known [music] for its exceptional marine biodiversity, its paradisical beaches, [music] and its rich culture with unique and ancient traditions that have been preserved over the centuries. The influence of different [music] colonizations and cultures, including Spanish, German, Japanese, and American, has left a significant imprint on the life [music] and customs of its inhabitants. Its remote location and geographical dispersion make Micronesia a unique place in [music] the world for adventurers and lovers of diving and paradisical beaches. The crystal clearar waters and coral reefs offer an unparalleled experience for those interested in exploring marine life and underwater historical remains [music] such as the numerous shipwrecks that occurred here in World War II. The climate in Micronesia is tropical with warm temperatures year [music] round ranging from 24 to 31° C. The islands experience a rainy season [music] and a dry season with the dry season from December to April being the best time to enjoy its wonders. The influence of the Pacific Ocean moderates the temperatures and provides a humid and pleasant environment. The name Micronesia comes from Greek and means small islands.
Micro was small [music] and Nessos Island. An appropriate description given the large number of tiny islands that make up this region. Something that few know and confuses many is that Micronia refers to both a geographic region and a specific [music] country. The Micronisia region contains several island states and countries in the Pacific, including some of the smallest and least populated in the world, such as Nauu, which is also famous for being recognized as the least [music] visited country on the planet. But there is also a sovereign country known as the Federated States of Micronesia, which is also composed of hundreds of islands grouped into four main states, Yap, Chuk, Ponap, and Kosray. As for the region of Micronia, this corner has some of the most mysterious and unique islands in the world, [music] as you are now going to know in more detail.
Starting with the most radioactive and life-threatening place on the planet.
If you had not come to this video, you would probably think that this place would be occupied by places like Chernobyl, but you're wrong. Located in the Pacific Ocean, the Marshall Islands are known as the most radioactive place in the world due to the nuclear tests carried out by the United States in the decades of 1940 and 1950.
Between 1946 and 1958, the United States conducted 67 nuclear tests on Bikini Atal [music] and Enouak atal, resulting in a natural disaster for both the environment and the health of the local inhabitants.
The consequences of these tests led to population displacement and long-term health problems. In places such as the Bikini Atal [music] where as many as 23 nuclear tests were conducted, radiation levels up to 10 times higher than those in the Chernobyl exclusion zone have been recorded. Apart from so many nuclear tests, it was also on this atal that the explosion of the hydrogen bomb known as Bravo was conducted which is estimated to have been a thousand times more powerful than the Hiroshima bomb.
Another of the most famous islands in the Micronesia region is Naru, the third smallest nation in the world in terms of area after the Vatican and Monaco with only 21 square kilometers of surface. If you want to know the top smallest cities in the world, don't miss [music] the video we created a few weeks ago in the channel. It may [music] seem strange, but Naru is world famous for another peculiarity that very few know, that of being the least visited country in [music] the world. According to the World Tourism Organization's barometer, [music] its records indicate that Naru receives only 200 tourists every year.
Its remote location in the Pacific and the lack of tourist infrastructure in Naru have a lot to do with this lack of tourists. As does a very serious potential danger in this small island, that of being swallowed by the sea in the [music] coming years. This island has such a low altitude that it faces an increasingly dangerous threat, that of rising sea [music] levels. As one of the lowest island nations in the world with its highest point rising only 65 meters from the sea, Nau is fully [music] exposed to the effects of climate change and much of the country is practically at the same level as the ocean.
Another of the most famous islands in the Micronia region is Palao, a paradise famous for its incredible marine biodiversity and crystalclear waters, which makes it a top diving and snorkeling destination in the world.
This country is home to the famous jellyfish lagoon, [music] a place where visitors can swim among thousands of jellyfish in total tranquility. This is a fascinating destination for visitors as it is home to millions of golden jellyfish of the mustigious [music] papua species. Creatures that would scare anyone if it were not for the fact that they are totally harmless to humans thanks to the absence of stinging [music] tentacles and their harmless diet of plankton.
Palao, also recognized as one of the most visited and economically prosperous [music] destinations in Micronesia, has established one of the largest marine protected areas in the world to [music] preserve its magic and incomparable beauty. This archipelago is one of the best preserved and protected jewels in the entire region. Its spectacular landscapes include impressive limestone rock formations covered with lush vegetation, white sandy beaches lapped by crystalclear turquoise waters, [music] and a rich marine biodiversity that make it an almost untouched tropical paradise.
The other most important region within Micronesia is that of the Kiraabati archipelago.
This paradiscal archipelago contains pristine atalss and calm lagoons give visitors the opportunity to explore a breathtaking underwater world. [music] While its islands offer a unique insight into the life and culture of the Pacific. However, behind this paradise, Kiraabati faces [music] a threat due to climate change and rising sea levels, as does Naru. The low altitude of the islands makes them extremely vulnerable to saltwater intrusion, coastal erosion, and land loss, making it one of the most vulnerable regions in the world to climate change. And now that you know the most surprising islands and countries of Micronia, [music] let's get into the details of Micronesia as a country, helping you to get to know one of the strangest places on the planet.
An island where, for a good part of its population, colors do not exist. a place where more than 10% of its population sees in black and white. As you now know, Micronesia is a region with several countries within it like the ones you just met, but also a country by itself, containing hundreds of islands within four states called Yap, Chuk, Ponapee, and Kosay.
It may sound like science fiction, but the world is truly amazing, and that's why we love to create and bring you interesting videos like this one. So if you're not subscribed to uncensored world, do it now. Do it to know realities like Pingalop Island in the state of Ponipe, an island famous in the scientific world as it is the place where more people suffer from an extreme form of color blindness called acromatopsia, a rare genetic disease [music] that prevents distinguishing colors. That's why many know this island as [music] the island of the colorblind.
If one day you are lucky enough to visit Pingalop or any of the other islands of Micronia, you will surely be surprised by its beauty and [music] nature, its beautiful landscapes and turquoise waters or its extraordinary marine world. A reality that makes this problem [music] even sadder for the inhabitants of Pingalop. Because despite living in a natural wonder full of colors, more than 10% of the 250 [music] inhabitants of this island see life in black and white. In the world, it is estimated that this disease is suffered by 0.003% [music] of the population or what is [music] the same three people out of 100,000. While in Pingleap, statistics estimate that between 10 and 30% of the population is a carrier. That is [music] between 10 and 30 people out of every 100 people on this island suffer from this disease.
And as almost always in this life, mysteries are there to be solved. And there is usually a reason for these surprising facts. According to the research we have done to know this cause we have to go back to the year 1775.
That year a typhoon named Leenki devastated this island and only 20 people survived. Among them the leader of the tribe named Nanqui Muan who was believed to suffer from the rare disease of chromatopsia.
In order to resurrect the island, the leader decided to have a large number of offspring to the point that it is believed that all those affected today have not mariized as a relative. Nobody noticed any change until the fourth generation, which was when acroatopsia appeared in part of the population, a problem that would increase in the sixth generation and so on until today. in this way and thanks to this original inbreeding by the former leader of Pingalap, the island is one of the most attractive in the world for genetic experts. But apparently [music] seeing in black and white also has its advantages for the inhabitants of this island, especially when the sun goes down. According to many of them, in the dark, this rare disease gives them better vision, helping them to fish much better than during the day. But perhaps this is not the most striking curiosity of this video since who could think that in the world there could be such a rare custom that mixes ants with intimate relations or female stimulation.
Surely no one. But it was just [music] that what years ago a famous writer and renowned anthropologist named Edgar Gregerson [music] discovered during his visit to the state of Pompei, a custom known by the locals as Kakoa Aada that he described in detail in his book Sexual Customs. According to this tradition, the women of this small Micronesian island [music] or their partners usually place weaver ants known as ecoilis maragdina on their genital apparatus, encouraging these insects to bite. Apparently, according to the study carried out by the famous anthropologist, [music] the sting of this type of ants produces a brief but very intense spasm which stimulates them and even helps them to reach climax. You will probably find it strange and even repulsive to imagine this kind of practice, but this ancient tradition has been passed from one generation to the next for thousands [music] of years. And it surely makes much more sense and has much better results than most of us might think. It's easy [music] to understand that if it hadn't, they would have stopped using these ants for such a strange ritual centuries ago. But perhaps the best kept secret in the state of Ponipe is the enigmatic [music] city of Nan Madol.
Nan Madol is a mysterious and ancient ceremonial city built on a series of artificial islands in a lagoon in the southeast [music] of this state. A city often called the Venice of the Pacific because of the intricate network of canals [music] that contains it. But what makes Nanmadal fascinating is the sheer scale of its structures built with huge bassalt blocks weighing up to 50 [music] tons each. Despite their enormous weight and size, no scientific explanation has been found as to how these stones were [music] transported and assembled. Given that according to the information available, the ancient builders did not have advanced technologies or heavy machinery. Local legends add even more mystery to Nan Madal. According [music] to the folklore of the state of Ponipe, the first builders of the city were two magician brothers, Olypba and Olospa, who used supernatural powers to build this [music] ancient city and to be able to use these gigantic structures. It is said [music] that these brothers came from a distant land in search of a place to worship their gods and chose the lagoon [music] of this Micronesian state as their home. Using magic, they floated the huge stones across the sea and set them in place. These stories of [music] magical abilities and occult powers, coupled with the belief in beings from other planets, [music] and even the possible existence of the mythical Atlantis in this area, are realities [music] that fascinate researchers and tourists alike, adding a layer of mystery to [music] this enigmatic place.
In addition to these legends, the city of Nanmadul is shrouded in an atmosphere [music] of mystery and superstition that can be observed in the locals. Some locals believe [music] that the city is cursed and that exploring it can bring bad luck or illness. There are also researchers who have reported strange [music] sensations and unexplained phenomena while exploring its ruins, such as sudden changes in temperature and a feeling of unseen presences.
[music] All this makes this ancient city one of Micronesia's bestkept [music] and most intriguing secrets.
The genetics of the Pingalap inhabitants, [music] the extraordinary tradition of the Kakoa Oada ants or the millinary city of Nan Madol make the state of Ponipe the most fascinating of Micronesia. But not only this state contains surprising realities, as you are about to see. The state of Yap, for example, is famous for stones called rye, a monetary system that is considered unique in the world. These stones carved from limestone or coral vary in size from small stones to huge discs that can reach several meters in diameter and even weigh several tons.
For transactions, the RARI stones are not physically moved, [music] partly due to the enormous size of some of them, but instead the change of ownership is recorded in the collective memory of the community. In this way, these stones have intrinsic value and represent not only material wealth, but also social and political status. Over time, despite modernization and the introduction of currencies such as the dollar, RAI stones remain an integral part of [music] YAP culture and identity, and local people continue to use them in important ceremonies and as symbols of prestige.
In traditional Yapis wedding ceremonies, these are eye stones are used and an important role as symbols of wealth, status, [music] and connection to the community.
These stones are often used as gifts from the groom's family to the bride's family and even as part of the dowy payment [music] or as tokens of respect and appreciation.
Afterwards, the stones are often displayed publicly during the celebration to show [music] the wealth and status of the family. But surely the most surprising curiosity of [music] Yap state is that of the kalaba.
According to this tradition, deeply [music] rooted in this area of Micronesia and also in Chuk state, burying the dead in the backyard of the family home not only reflects the deep connection to the land and nature, but also symbolizes the importance of family and community in Yappi's life. For many people in Yap, the age-old tradition of Kalaba helps them to keep loved ones buried close to home, providing comfort and a sense of spiritual closeness. As it is believed that the spirits of the deceased continue to protect and care for the family from their resting place.
As you can see, [music] the people of Micronesia still maintain age-old traditions today. Much of this is [music] due to the fact that having remained remote from the rest of the world, their connection to nature and their ancestral beliefs have remained intact. Another of these common traditions in Micronesia is to take a new name every year. It may seem strange to you, [music] but for Micronesians, this tradition makes a lot of sense as it makes it easier to confuse evil spirits. This is the purpose of this ancestral custom. [music] One more fact that contributes to recognize Micronesia as one of the most enigmatic places on the planet. The state of Chuk is known for its rich maritime history [music] and for being home to one of the largest concentrations of World War II shipwrecks. [music] In the crystal clearar waters of Chuk Lagoon lies a large number of Japanese ships and aircraft sunk during the intense fighting of the war. This historic underwater site [music] is one of the most famous diving destinations in the world, attracting divers and history enthusiasts from all over the world. In addition to this historical heritage, Chuk also offers stunning natural landscapes, white sandy beaches, and a rich island culture that includes traditional dances and colorful festivals. To end this [music] detailed account of the states of the country of Micronia, Kosai, the state known as the forgotten island, is a natural paradise with a rich biodiversity [music] and a calm and serene atmosphere. The nickname forgotten island has a lot to do with its isolation and wilderness environment which helps it remain less developed compared [music] to other parts of Micronesia.
This Micronesian state is famous for its lush rainforest, picturesque waterfalls and beautiful coral reefs. Cosray [music] is a popular location for ecoourism and hiking with a variety of hiking trails that take visitors through breathtaking scenery and historical sites. The island is also known for its ancient and mysterious ruins, including the site of Leu, which houses ruined stone structures dating back centuries.
In addition to its natural beauty and history, Kosray is known for its hospitality and laid-back relaxed lifestyle, making it an ideal destination for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of modern life or that other type of tourism [music] more common in Micronia geared toward water sports or beach tourism.
At this point, [music] we take the opportunity to ask you, do you think Micronisia is one of the rarest and most extraordinary places on the planet? What surprised you the most? The most common way to get to Micronesia from other parts of the world is by plane. The main international gateway is Ponapee International Airport which connects with other destinations through United Airlines which operates flights mainly from Guam and Honolulu. In addition to Ponape, other states such as Chuk, Yap, and Kosray also have international airports that receive regular flights, although less frequently. The official currency of the Federated States of Micronesia is the US [music] dollar, a reality that facilitates transactions and tourism. It is good to know that both the presence of banks and ATMs is limited, especially in more remote islands, so it is recommended to carry enough cash to cover expenses during your stay. The official language of Micronesia is English, which also facilitates communication for foreign tourists.
However, it is good to know that each state has its own local languages as there are people. The more remote the place where only these ancestral languages are spoken. In Ponipe they speak Pompean. In Chuk they speak [music] Chukes. In Yap they speak Yapes and in Kosray they speak Kosrayan.
In terms of cost of living, prices in Micronesia [music] can be higher than in other tourist destinations due to the need to import many goods.
Accommodations range from mid-range or luxury hotels that are often priced in excess of $100 to more modest and traditional accommodations priced between $50 and $100.
A meal in a restaurant can cost between $10 and $20, while the prices of basic goods in stores can be higher due to [music] import costs. As for visas, for citizens of some countries such as the United States, Japan, Canada, or European countries, no visa is required for short stays in Micronia, usually up to 30 days, [music] but this may vary depending on nationality. Anyway, it is always recommended to verify visa requirements through embassies or consulates of each country and it is always essential to have a valid passport with at least 6 months of validity remaining from the date of entry to the country.
