[00:00:29]Disney, Good Luck, Charlie, That's So Raven, Shake It Up, Wizards of Wtherly Place, Doll with the Blonde, Hannah Montana, and even Casey Undercover. So many good sitcoms. And even on the Disney Princess side, we have Princess and the Frog, Mulan, Cinderella, Brave. Oh, let's not forget about the Disney movie side. The Cheetah Girls High School Musical. So many good movies, too. And now in 2026, what do we get? Descendants 5. Zombies five. 1 2 3 4 5. What? We're going to go for six now. Actually, let's just go for 10. Let's go for 10. Oh, what else do we have? Oh, let's not forget about the live actions. Snow White. Wow. Little Mermaid. Moana. What? Mulan.

[00:01:32]What was this? Beauty and the Beast. And Lion King. Even Mufasa. Actually, Mufasa was a pretty good movie. I always want to have that. I always want to have that. I always want to have that. Just like me.

[00:01:55]What else can you do with Frozen? What else? So, my question is, Disney, what the freak are you doing? This is a genuine question. Is the creative juices ain't working or do you need money? Because I I can spot you $5.

[00:02:37]I want to first off with sitcoms. If someone was to be crown one of the best at making sitcoms during the early 2000, it would have been given to Disney Channel to be able to make story lines that have even me watching it and still remembering the songs and story lines like Alex and the Wolf Boy. I forgot the wolf boy names, but I remember his face names. Or even Justin, the vampire girl.

[00:03:01]I know the vampire girl was played by Bridget Medler. or even DJ when he was a therapist in that one episode helping that one couple like delivering fried chicken and fixing couples up. Yeah, Jack and Miley actually Miley with a lot of good-looking guys, bro.

[00:03:21]Anyway, anyway, anyway, anyway, um and so at my ripe age of 20, that is something influencable, is it not? Now, I know that Disney has released some sitcoms over the years. Vampiria, Teenage Vampire, was literally 2025 or even Electric Bloom was supposed to be Cheetah Girls, but not really Cheetah Girls. Anyway, but has anyone noticed that the age range with these sitcoms are intended for is completely different. I would say the sitcoms Disney used to make was for the older teens, 15 and 18, but now it feels like 14 and under. This is important because back in the day, Disney would split its schedule between kids programming in the morning, teen targeted sitcoms in the afternoon, but now most of that teen content is animated kids shows like Big City Green, Marvel adaptations.

[00:04:18]Disney isn't as strict between the split of teens and kids programming block. Now the network schedule blends across age groups with some targeting at younger children, other twins and other older teens is all you going to get what you going to get at that time. You know it's all airing in a continuous block. Why this sudden change? Two words TV viewership.

[00:04:48]Ever since 2016, Disney Channel's audience has dropped by 90%.

[00:04:54]Who would be able to steal Disney Channel audience attention if it wasn't Disney themselves? Younger viewerships increase to Disney Plus and other streaming platforms like Netflix and all that stuff. Rather than waiting for a scheduled time slot, you just get your TV shows right then and there whenever you want with cost of a few ads unless you want to pay for that too. This also could be primarily due to the fact that parents probably would like to be able to watch shows like Wonderman, Marvel movies, or even Hulu with a Disney Plus bundle, then telling your child, "Oh, your show isn't on right now." Rather than you watch your show on the phone and tablet, and I watch mine on the big screen TV.

[00:05:41]So, what does that lead to? a shift where fewer people are watching shows on the channel, making it harder to justify producing new original sitcoms. Now, that reasoning is from the audience side. From the company side, you got to remember a company is a business and a business needs to make money. So, if they see the audience are going to Netflix, Prime Videos, even Tuby, well, excuse me, let me get on this. So, here comes Disney Plus. Disney now attacks and prioritize Disney Plus with Marvel, Star Wars, and even Pixar. Why? Because it's a franchise content. People already watch those movies and TV shows, and we even watch it over and over and over again. While if Disney were to make a spin-off or reboot of past hits like Bunk from Jesse, it could lead to a loss of freshness after years of reputation.

[00:06:39]While Walt Stan Lee left a bunch of content to be used for Marvel and Star Wars is a wide world anyone could be the next star for their movies. Even Pixar is coming out with ideas. The thing that Disney does not do well with is continuing on a series without the same cast. Yeah, they might add in a few new people, but they won't take away all the people from the series before because that is dangerous territory. the question of what if they don't watch it because Alice isn't in a new spin-off?

[00:07:12]What if they don't watch it because Raven isn't in Raven Home? Why risk it?

[00:07:18]So, the less or bad sitcoms right now on Disney are due to struggling to compete in a streaming first world. So, what is Disney response to the decline?

[00:07:30]Remakes.

[00:07:33]Remakes. I have realized that Disney is prone to safe producing with a high reward. When I say safe, I mean it already has an audience. Remaking stories like Lion King, The Little Mermaid is a safe strategy to basically guarantee success without having to risk the loss of money and something that does not bring in any revenue, okay, at all. Remakes are true and tested strategy for Disney to bring in a lot of money because it's a classic. If you have a classic, then you don't need pre-production. Boom, boom, money saved.

[00:08:12]It's a strategy that has its pros and cons to it. It does give Disney revenue in order to sustain new, perhaps more risk projects if they do that.

[00:08:25]While on the other hand, they probably won't be loved by a certain population, especially if they do what they did to Mulan.

[00:08:45]Anyway, so in the end, what can we gather from this information? It's all about the money, money, money. It's all about the money, money, money. It's all about the money. They don't care if remaking uh they don't care if making a remake of a classic like The Little Mermaid to a live action while using mostly CGI for the underwater scene and not making aerial hair more bright as the anime movie doesn't make sense.

[00:09:13]They don't care about that. They don't care that seeing the movie Mulan without any songs sung I don't want the backtrack or the instrumental. I want who is that girl I see staring straight back at me. That's that's they don't care about that. You know what did surprise me though? A liveaction of Mulan before Frozen or Princess of a Frog. Honestly, the best liveaction Disney movie that they could have done Pocahontas.

[00:09:45]I think they could have been easier to do than The Little Mermaid.

[00:09:51]But let's not get into that because we all know that Pocahontas is not their is not their high grossing freaking movie because Pocahas was too deep. Pocah was too deep. Let's not get to that. Let's not get to that. Anyway, that's all I have to say because I was just like, what are we doing Disney? And after researching it all makes sense.
