Mutant sewer rats spreading through major US cities

A Rutgers University study found that urban mice and rats in major US cities like New York, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C. are developing genetic mutations that make them increasingly resistant to common poisons used for extermination, with house mice showing particularly high levels of these mutations due to frequent exposure to poisoned bait, while brown rats showed fewer resistant traits.
