A masterclass in industrial pragmatism that bridges the gap between hydraulic theory and gritty, hands-on maintenance. It’s a refreshing reminder that the most effective engineering solutions are often found in the mud, not just the manual.

This Pipe Burst… And It Made Everything Worse本站添加:
Yeah, this did not go to plan. We just repaired these pipes on the bor because the yard were filling up and we needed it running. So, we're trying to get the air out the system and then this happened.
>> Oh my god. You need to go and wash that off.
>> So, we finally got the BOR back up and running, but that did not last long. The tracks on the machine have gone slack and we need to get these pins out to fix it, but they're completely stuck. This should be a simple fix, but nothing's moving. So, now we've got another machine down and the yard is still filling up fast.
Right, it's Monday morning.
>> It is Monday morning. Today, Chris is going to be taking off two steel pipes off the bor.
>> Yeah. Don't know why, but just like all of a sudden they just started leaking and they're leaking off the welding for a while and they just got worse.
>> Yeah, but they've got bad. But they're leaking on a weld. So Chris is going to be taking them off, taking them up towards. You can't really weld them on the bay lock because just like with the being oil there, it's like contaminating the steel and you just can't weld good.
The steel needs to be really clean.
>> Yeah, it mustn't be a good job.
>> Uh yeah. And then Yeah, they need to come off. So that means there's no bailing today.
>> Will it be all day?
>> Probably. Yeah.
>> Well, he wants to be doing some other jobs on it.
>> He's going to do the hydraulic filters.
They've turned up.
>> It was having a bit of work in it.
>> Yeah. The ICO wagon what we got from AAA few weeks ago. We just haven't got the space.
>> It's a shame to scrap it. There was some good bits on it. Uh we just simply haven't got space. No, this is it. So, it's got to go.
still earn money on scrap obviously, but it would have been nice to have just tucked it away and one day someone will need an engine or a gearbox or a prop shaft or anything like that. But for us to actually strip them parts off now, it's a lot of labor intensive work for something what isn't going to generate income instantly. And the yard is just that chaotic. We can't do that. I'm going to show you Chris taking his pants off now. I'm still on me black coffees here. Oh, I'll tell you what. Also, Sunday's video, a lot of nice comments about Robbiey's send off. So, I appreciate that. They all understood though, didn't they, John?
>> About the two videos. What's the one send?
>> Someone's just said, "Love your videos.
Just thought I'd do James a new t-shirt design as he mentioned in Sunday's video."
>> Must crack on. It's another busy day.
>> What does it say up here? S. I think there I think there's some >> Hey, I tell you what, that's not bad, you know.
>> Yeah, if it that doesn't look like >> I look like I'm a about 50 years.
Listen, it does. It's a >> definitely.
>> Hey, I tell you what.
>> I actually quite like that.
>> No, it's good. It's good, but you can just tell it's a bit AI.
>> Yeah. I mean, obviously, John, >> it's funny.
>> What time are you going?
>> What do you mean?
>> Well, you got scapul.
>> Oh, right. Yeah. Found this in a car.
It's a good nice decent house. Oh, I I'm wearing that about a year ago.
>> Um, but yeah, today it's going to be busy cuz on Saturday we had no one polluting and the yards filled up cars as always due to the size of the yard.
It's very go go go go go all the time.
We've not got one of these mega yards where you can just put a load of cars in the corner and everything's nice and easy and relaxed. It's not like that here. It's always fastpaced get through which in a way is good. Do you know what I mean? It it improves efficiency, doesn't it? Because it's so quick all the time. You're always thinking about quicker ways of doing stuff.
>> Right. So, there you have it. I'm going to go and see what Chris is doing. See you soon in Right. We've nearly done it.
>> Somebody's tried to repair that before.
Look.
>> Yeah. You You can't weld it where it is.
>> No. Somebody's tried though, aren't they?
>> Yeah.
>> Oh, nice. Hasn't you, Chris?
>> No. No. No.
>> Right. So, anyone who says >> it's cuz shit's upside down.
>> Yeah. Oh, they can. Anyone who says we don't clean around the Bay. Yeah.
>> You're wrong. Was this the first time we've ever cleaned round it?
>> No, it's actually not, is it?
>> No, I'll tell you what. Yeah, it's not.
We clean round this probably every two weeks, right?
In one day after cleaning this, it' be exactly the same.
>> Yep.
>> Literally like people need to understand we are literally processing between 600 and 700 cars a month. Yeah. It's going to create a bit of mess. A little bit of mess.
Yeah. can live with mess, can't you?
>> You can live with a bit of mess. If we if we just cleaned up all the time, yeah, we wouldn't earn any money. Now, I'm not really bothered about a bit of mess. It's a scrap yard. My house My house is clean. Chris's house, it's clean. His bed sheets aren't, but >> but the yard, we're here to earn money, you know? We're not here to clean up.
Now, I I understand the health and safety side of things, but little bits of plastic here and there, it's just a scrap yard. Do you know what I mean? And that that that's an issue to anybody when it's in there.
>> Yeah, that's it.
>> But anyway, so >> we're on with it.
>> These pipes should be off for dinner or after dinner.
>> Yeah.
>> Get them up towards get them gone. Get them welded. Be should be back up in action.
>> Got them four to do there on this side now.
>> Yeah.
>> So yeah, it's all good.
>> All good. Bit more room now that ICO's gone.
>> Right, dinner's over. So we're back to it now. Um I'm going to do these four bolts up here now. And um John's going to come over and he's going to start taking this one off while I just finish off and then I'll jump on that one with John.
>> We'll get it sorted. There he is. The main man. Kenny >> back in again.
Right. Well, me and John have managed to get these undone now. They were damn tight. There a big scaffolding bar on it. John's just undoing this short one now. And then we can get them both up towards Right. Think that's one of them off.
>> Quite a big pipe. Really subscribers know you don't get them licking stamps.
>> What's that? Let me have another look at them. Matt, >> do it again.
>> Look at that.
>> I tell you what, there's a beat.
>> There's a bigger lump in a bead pod.
>> Not in a piece of cotton.
>> Oh dear.
>> Corn me.
Right, John. How many's left on that now?
>> I think this is the last one of this side.
>> Yeah, she's starting to leak now.
>> Got these four now.
>> I just don't know where we're going to catch that oil. We But I'm going to cut a tub in half now and get it underneath there.
>> I'll be back in a second.
>> Chuck that under it, John. If it'll fit, won't it? That be all right.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> Just catch a bit won't it?
up now. Doing the other side together.
>> Yeah, it's spot on that, Kenny. I say it doesn't have to be 100% perfect because after a day and a half of using it, it'll be full again.
>> Yeah, it just keeps looking.
>> Yeah, we just need to try and just keep on top of it like we've been doing.
>> I think you've got the same issue as I had. Yeah. So, what I had to do was knock the middle out, put a spanner on it, and put scaffolding bar on a spanner, and that did it. So, I'll do that. I'll knock that center out, find a spanner for it, and we'll make it up that way. Right, that's that one off.
There it is. You can see the crack in it there. You guys can see this weld here.
Starts here. It's cracked right through the weld all the way around to there.
That's what's going to need replacing.
Right. So, we're going to get these uh this pipe and that other piece there just on back of sprinter and we'll get them up towards weird shape. So, we go This camera. Hey, >> this camera.
>> That camera. Thank you.
>> Cheers, man.
>> Don't break it.
>> I won't do right off towards. We'll see you there.
So, we're here again. GM Woods. Kevin's assessed the situation. He's on a look at both pipes for us. And yeah, the the main pipe, the big feed pipe that's got quite a big crack in it when we've just had a look at it. Um, so yeah, he's got one on the bench. We're going to take this one in now and uh hopefully he'll have them back at some point tomorrow for us, he says. So it's a good day.
>> The as Chris has just explained, the pipe should be done for tomorrow, dinner time. We've had a steel engines go today which we didn't record.
>> Uh what else?
>> So today scrapwise got that um processed. Um >> well we would have got it done quicker but Chris just won't lift it up for some reason.
Lift it up. The machine won't lift it up.
>> N it would I had all I had all the weight on the doo. I picked it up easy but Chris shaking too much. He cracks the side of the bail the knock rail.
What do you reckon?
>> We're on the phone. I'm saying Jimmy, stop pulling it. AND YOU GOING, WHAT?
WHAT? WHAT?
>> YOURS SAID IT WON'T LIFT IT.
>> YEAH. STOP PULLING IT.
>> He's good. He got arm fully extended.
>> It's stuck on the pulling it.
>> That guy right there. What did you keep doing?
>> He's a fruit.
>> What did you keep doing? You were tracking back and everything.
>> He's on this 35 ton machine and the little skinny doo's out lifting it.
>> Yeah, you're ragging the wagon about >> trying to lift it as you're make sure everyone keeps that guys. Pure complete stick. And then I've got John shouting and bowing at me from down there.
Starting you realized it were hitting the the freaking axle was on.
>> I was on the phone to James saying I'm I'm on the boring >> but the arm the arm like that.
>> Yeah, but I can't pull it back in when he's pulling on the wagon like that.
>> No, no, no. You needed to drop the arm.
The height were fine.
>> Tom, when you're shaking, nothing.
>> No, no. It just needed the arm dropping and it would have pulled it away. I can't drop it when he's lifting it up like that and taking all the strain on my machine.
>> When I'm lifting it up and taking all the weight for him, John was trying to bring the arm down when he were pulling up a nightmare.
>> Excuses.
>> So anyway, have we sorted it?
>> Is it done?
>> Is what? Oh, the ibeck.
>> Yeah, but we have to get a new radiator for the B, won't we?
>> New engine, new radiator.
>> Smash me new rad. Smash me engine. Smash me am.
>> Yeah, right. I reckon he smashed hydraulic pump on way out of course.
>> Right.
>> So it's Tuesday morning. Full steam ahead. Chris is here. The mess.
>> All right. You mess up.
>> Yeah. Right. What we on with Got you out to office.
>> It feels weird me holding the camera.
>> Got you out to office.
>> Oh yeah.
>> What happened?
>> James Oing me to death. Is it?
>> Right. So what's the situation?
>> The situation is you.
>> Bloody hell.
Look during the cleaning process, we noticed that the pin retainer there had come out. So this So I've spotted it in already. I've cleaned it all up. I put a spot on there just to hold it in place.
And I'm just going to weld the rest of it up now >> so we don't lose that pin.
>> Sed. So yeah, bit of maintenance. Um we've got the pipes getting fixed now at G&M's. So hopefully they're back for dinner time. We'll get them on and we should be back in action. But yeah, Chris is going to weld this up now.
Chris rings me yesterday I thought what is it now pin snapped on there I said it won't be it won't be it comes down this little metal what does he call it like a little >> it's just a pin retainer retainer isn't it >> yeah so that had obviously come loose so pin snapped Baylor's knackered a little spot weld >> shut up you mess >> so Chris is doing that >> I have a quick we're welding handrail back on I don't remember what he smashed on >> yeah what he's smashing we're getting that radiator Recon did not have to.
>> What we doing about the engine?
>> We need to bolt head back on, don't we?
Cuz we knocked that off and all.
>> That's your problem, isn't it? So, >> yeah, >> Chris, cuz he had he was shacking again.
He's bloody smashed all handrail off a he.
>> Oh, here we go.
>> Well, I've got a lot to do now. So, >> what were you going to say, John, about the bor?
>> Um, I was going to say just have a quick look around. Just check for any cracking or >> when you look at Oh, that one slid.
Yeah, >> this were the first thing we looked at.
Do you remember when we went to look?
Look at that.
>> Unbolt that.
>> You can unbolt that lid in couple of hours.
>> The beauty bloody hell. Oh no, it's a plastic. The beauty about this bail, it hasn't actually ever been welded.
>> I don't think it's done any hard >> repaired. Normally you seeing them where they've all been welded a million times.
It's never It's solid as a rock. That is the one good thing about it. And because >> these bailers, they just it's just a piece of steel.
>> It's just mechanical. It's just rams always and steel.
>> Obviously the the electric side of it is obviously age related, but mechanically >> the steel and the rams are as good as new. Like a new B would only be as solid and the rams would only be as big and powerful.
>> Uh it's obviously the the electric side of it. But yeah, >> you could get some covers to go over the [ __ ] chrome some like where they extend on >> over the ramps. You can get a rubber mat. You can get the they're like a a big spring loaded rubber piece that goes over them. Yeah.
>> But you'd have to take the rams out.
Well, not >> to get it to wrap around.
>> No, you take them off and they slide over >> and then they fasten on that end and fasten on this end and it protects them.
>> Definitely.
>> But yeah. Right. We're going to get this welded.
Heat.
Heat.
Right. There we go. Hold on.
>> Cut a bit. I just don't want to cut it and do it. You're not done that weld yet.
>> What's up with you?
>> Are you blind? What's up with you?
What's up with me?
>> I just pressed >> going to say this now. I don't know what it is. Yeah, >> it must be like a man thing. Every man dogs every other weld down. It's just I mean that is a good weld but I still can't I'll just dog it down. It's just life. It must What is it? It's like territorial isn't it?
>> Something like that. Yeah. Where you going >> for an interview and it's sorted out.
>> All right. No worries.
>> Right. So I've been up towards I've got the pipes back. They're all uh welded up nicely now.
So, the other ones down by the bor, I've already tucked that down. So, uh Chris is going to give me a lift fit in these.
So, yeah. So, all you people who say you don't get his hands dirty, you're going to see him get his hands dirty. So, >> so yeah, we'll show you a bit of that.
>> Need to put one bolt in top here and then I can sued that down there.
We got some shorter ones. No, we all same time.
>> That's obviously where it's caught the uh thing.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> Felt like it stepped in.
>> Then you got this one's Which one you bought? It >> don't matter. It probably put that in.
>> Oh, does that come out?
>> Yeah, it comes out. Yeah.
Right, everyone. Welcome back to a fresh video. It's Wednesday morning. It's busy. The sun's shining. Got an Arctic getting loaded with alloys right now.
And I'm also going to be doing a bit of work on the doo which I'll show you.
There he is. The meth off.
that door card.
Basically, with these alloys, they need to be as clean as possible because this is a very good grade of uh aluminium or as you Americans will say, aluminum.
So, don't want any contaminants in because of the price of the of the metal. We don't want to be paying that for plastic. So, as you can see, we're about halfway now.
got that sun.
Right. So, what I'm going to be doing today, I've got a little bit of time now. There's probably only 10 cars to process there. So, I'm pretty on top of the cars. It's taken me a bit of catching up. Obviously, we've still not got the pound of scrap, but that should be pretty much down this week. There's a load of shells here to bail as well.
They're stacked nice and safely. Yeah, I know I'm still quite close to the stack, but the way they stacked, they can't fall this way. They would they would only ever fall to the side. And that's if they got hit, which we don't operate behind there. Uh, but what I'm going to be doing, a lot of you have probably noticed that the track on this dooen is slack. Now, I know it seems obvious. Yes, I have tried to tension the idler. But if you look at the idler, how far it's sticking out and then you look at the other side, the line is literally they are both extended fully.
So I can't adjust that tensioner anymore. It won't take any more grease.
The piston is fully out. It's the same on this side. look is only sticking out about 2 in from the end of the bolts and it's exactly the same. So, what that actually means is in a way it's a good thing. The tensioner is good. So, we don't need to replace that because a new tensioner and idler wheel probably be too grand. Now, you'll be surprised if I take one link out of here, it'll probably tighten up, but I'm going to do one at a time because I don't want to take two out and then it not be able to go on. So, I've not really got the setup to do it. I haven't got a press to push the pins out, so I might end up having to burn one out. Uh, but obviously, we've got the master pin, which is basically a pin with a split pin on the end. We We actually put that in about 3 months ago, so that should come out easier. Uh, I'm going to take the trap pads off the top next to the master link. And it shouldn't be too bad. I've got my tools here. Got the grease gun. I've got the burning tackle.
So, yeah, we're good to go. John Mark's down. He's just doing a couple of tests on the bay law electrically.
Uh, because John Mark, he's built all the program for this. So, he's actually this is his project. So, there's a lot of like learning and stuff.
And it if anyone knows that Baylor now, especially the electrics, it's John, Mark, and Justin. This box, this is the new box they put on.
All brand new, up to date, good, good equipment. So, yeah. First thing I'm going to do, going to crack.
Well, I'm going to track it back.
Get this extension, Kenny. Just try it with that.
See, see if it fits.
We're just going to make sure we've got all the tools and then we're going to start. There's a little grease grease nipple in there. Just put it the socket on that.
>> That's it.
>> That's the one. Right. Take it out then.
>> Right. So, do you know what we're doing?
>> No, I'm just going with >> Yeah. You just do as you tell, don't you?
>> Yeah.
>> Right. Basically, we're going to steam clean all underneath, but you're going to have to lie on your back.
>> Yeah. Right. I'm going up that way.
>> No. Right. The the track is stretched.
We're going to take a link out. Me and you.
>> The ultimate dream, boys.
>> So, should we do a break in the account?
What? Or is it a bit early? Bit early.
Bit early. Wake up.
>> Yeah. Well, after first break.
>> Yeah. I need some food.
>> What? What? You want cheese pie?
>> Uh, no. Uh, noodle.
>> Now, the thing with Kenny, he had a cheese pie, but then he put more cheese on it, didn't you? With ketchup as well.
Like cheese pie with ketchup.
>> Unbelievable. Really?
>> Like double like double kit.
>> And there'll be a lot of energy in that, won't there? So yeah, listen, you can't fault Kenny. This guy will outgraft anyone.
>> Don't care who you are, he'll out graft you off, won't you, Kenn? Oh yeah, >> I'm not saying he'll bang a full week out, but for that day, >> yeah, >> he'll have a he'll have a graft off with anyone. And Pete Pete for his age.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> No one's going to out graft Pete at that age. No. And he's in now tidying up.
>> He's in now cleaning up. Yeah. So I'll get you a bit of Pete later.
There'll be a master be like this again.
>> Yeah. There we go. That's the one. That easy would it l the link and wants it up at the top so it's easier to use.
Yep.
There it is.
>> Right. Before we take that pin off, Kenny, we'll unbolt these track pads.
>> Yeah.
>> So, we can see what's going on.
>> We're going to take that link out. I think we need to do two. One.
Yeah. So, we need to take at least three or four of these pads off, >> right?
>> They're going to be tight, you know.
Oh, no. Wait. You might have to use this big kind of one of them big on there with a big bar.
>> Right. You do that and I'm going to take the tensioner idler out.
There's the grease uh socket, grease nipple there. Now, which ones have you done?
At least it's not raining today. All right, that's main.
That's one.
You got one.
>> Yeah.
>> It's like the socket one sample day.
Get one.
>> I'M GOING TO I'M GOING TO GO and get one. Forget it.
>> Keep bouncing off them. You >> got batteries as flat as your chest.
Oh, we're going to need like a pry bar in there now. If you know what I mean.
I'll give you a one. Oh boy.
>> Bar will do.
>> Them little squares just should be in there. Can we get that?
>> Hold your horses, Kenny. Hold your horses. Something quite important now.
>> Yeah, we need another battery.
>> Oh, right. Oh, Pete, come here. Right.
So, we're halfway through this job here doing this chain, but I just need a bit of motivation.
>> See what I mean? Anything. Should we do a spin? LET'S DO A SPIN. WOOHOO.
>> ALL RIGHT, LISTEN. ARE YOU GOING TO JUMP on still there?
>> Yeah.
>> Other way. Come here. Come here. Turn around. Another way. No. No. Face and skip. Face and skip.
>> YOU'RE NOT ALL the teacher.
>> Yeah. What does it say? I'm not getting old. I'm becoming a legend. Listen.
You're already a legend.
>> You don't just become a legend. You earn. You earn a legend. Right. You jump in there.
This patch is done.
Yeah.
Oh, hell.
that one.
Oh, easy, lad. That's the power of leverage, Kenny. That >> is >> mathematics.
Right, we're just going to buzz these last ones now and then we're off.
Want me to hold it?
>> Yeah, I know.
That one right.
Do we when we take that out that pin?
This is going to try and drop. You know what I mean?
>> I'm just thinking, do we That's easy.
That's easy to sort. Do we take just the one link out now?
It's just how much do we adjust it?
That's the problem. Do we take two out or one?
>> Well, we do tighten it.
>> I'm going to take a link out. It's like taking a link out on a bike.
>> Yeah, >> the the track's fully adjusted right now and it's still slack. So, I can push that idler in even more. We might get away with two.
>> Do two then.
>> Yeah, but I don't want to do the two and then it not be enough cuz you can't put them back in once we've done took it out.
>> Do one then.
>> Right. We need to space it there. I don't know how the hell we're going to get these out of here, but we can try and hit it, but it's going to be hard work. Hit it.
>> Or do we just burn it straight out?
>> Oh [ __ ] >> Well, I can get it on the edge, Kenny.
Where we can uh hit it properly?
>> You just do heat it up and then tap it out.
>> I don't know.
It's an option.
>> There's not a specific way to get them out. Well, you >> Yeah, you hydraulic press. All right.
>> Yeah.
>> Right. I think we might as well try and hit it out. Have we got any WD40?
>> Try and get a wire brush. Some WD40.
>> Yeah.
>> And we'll just start heating it up.
Right. I've never done one of these before. You can get us like a proper press with what we'll hook on here and just push that straight out, which I don't have. I'm going to try and heat it up a little bit just to make these expand the housing. And then I might be able to bang the pin out. We're just going to see. But I'm going to take this with this straight out. And then once I've got rid of that, that one will then go into that one. And it will tighten up that much, which isn't a lot, but it might be enough just to get rid of the slack for now. I don't want to risk taking two links out just in case there isn't enough slack to to get it back together.
So, I'm going to do one, see what it looks like, and if I feel like we can get away with two, I'm going to do the two. And I need to push that idler back in as well. I might actually do that now. I'm going to push this idler in, Kenny, first. Yeah. Uh, camera's on that drum. So, just watch it. Oh, I tell you what, you might as well hold the camera, Kenny. Right. As I push that in, just tell me when it moves.
>> WHOA. WHOA.
YEAH, GREASE OUT THERE.
>> ALL RIGHT. I thought I thought Burings had fell out then. Look, it looks like burrings out though, doesn't it? Wies.
>> Grease your bloody one.
>> It looks like it though. Try and get it with a bit of heat.
Heat.
Heat.
No chance moving, is it? No. But I've tried hitting that pin. It's not budging at all. So, I'm just going to have to jump in at deep end. Cut it. And that's it. I'm going to cut this pin here if I can. Straight through. Cut that straight through. And then I can try and knock that pin that way or even that way. And same with that one. And we'll see where we go. If not, I'll have to cut these off. And just basically I'm just going to cut it out. I think we're going to have to just rip and go for it, Kenny.
Aren't we right now? This is a big not doing it.
Well, whilst Kenn is cutting that, I'm going to get a quick update on uh John Martin.
>> What we reckon?
>> Right. So, we said what we need to do is just crack these four off.
>> Yeah.
>> So, it releases the pressure on that pipe. Not off completely.
>> Yeah.
>> Somebody hold the kill switch while somebody turns the engine over. And what he's saying has happened is >> there's air in the highest point. No, >> no.
>> There's air in that block down there.
That's >> That's what I said. Yeah. How do we bleed it?
>> That's how we do it. So, you crack them off >> so it can pull in and then bring it out.
So, it'll bring the oil out the air out of the whole system. Then, if you crack them off and turn that key and oil comes out of that straight away.
>> Yeah.
>> He said that his exact words was there's something wrong with the pump if that happens.
>> If oil comes out straight away.
>> Yes. Well, it will.
>> Well, it won't if there's no air in the system.
>> Yeah, but there's >> then if there's no air in the system and oil comes out of there straight away, then there's a problem with the pump. If you get air coming out first, then that's your problem. It's air in the system.
>> Yeah, but it'll it'll just be as soon as you crack it, the air will come out.
>> No, >> we're not.
>> No, cuz he said this pump is not a vacuum pump, >> right?
We're going to have to just try it. But >> yeah, that's >> what I'm saying. As soon as you turn that over, oil will come out of that.
>> We should get air as well.
>> Yeah, but it might be like a millisecond of air. You know what I mean?
>> It might be, but we've got to try it out.
>> What's the news we've just had?
>> Thought we were coming alone there.
>> Yeah.
>> I thought they just randomly came down.
>> They do.
>> So, how do they know that we're coming down there?
>> Cuz they have to tell you.
>> Oh, they do.
>> Yeah, but it What? The same day we're turning up in an hour.
James is getting his ass whooped today by the environment agencies.
>> Basically, >> we're getting shut down today.
>> John is in a meeting, a very important Zoom. It's for the operator.
>> So, what beard?
>> I've been dying.
>> Uh John's in a Zoom call. Chris Dandy was off doing something else. So, and we've just had a call now and basically me and Zoe were in the yard. There's always your panicking event environment coming down on a surprise visit. Why do they like It's like the health and safety. No, you know when they do the food rating, the food like they come and sneak in and do your little rating.
Well, listen, you can sneak in here all you want because we're absolutely not ready for you.
>> Right. Sorry. That wasn't that fun.
>> Stop using that crappy camera. It does my head.
>> We'll buy a new one then.
>> You got perfectly fine.
>> Okay, you set that up then.
>> James is doing it.
>> Do you know how long it takes to set that camera up?
>> Two seconds. James, how long does it take >> the first time?
>> How long will it take Zoe to set that camera up? And that's if she could even do it.
>> A couple seconds.
>> Shut up. With a gimbal and the saucy time you do it, the camera's the wrong way. It's the gimbal's just like having a fit.
>> Yeah, with them. You got to lock it. You got to lock it.
>> It's not like Listen, I'll tell you what. I'll tell you what. I'm going to show you. I'm going to record these two using that gimbal. I bet you any money it takes a minute to always set it up.
Even when it's set up properly, it'll still take Zoe a minute.
>> I used to use it. I used to just switching off.
>> No, you didn't. Right. Anyway, environment's coming down. The yard's clean, to be honest. We're ready for it, so it's not an issue.
>> Right. Chris is caked in. Are you laughing, Owen? What happened, Owen? You tell me what happened.
>> What happened, lad? Well, >> you didn't go fast enough, did it?
>> Oh, Chris can't even see.
>> Oh my god. You did wash that off.
Right. So, wait. Which pipe had air in?
>> The the you know the the one that he said to undo.
>> See if you got a return.
>> Yeah. I cracked it up then and just came around here just to watch it just to see whether it started leaking or anything and all of a sudden a massive gush of air came and then all hydraulic oil just went everywhere >> behind it cuz it's covered in air which came out. Everything's covered in it.
>> Wait, wait.
>> So wait, is there still air in it now?
>> Well, I turned it off, Jim.
>> There were just hydraulic oil then after a massive gush of air and then loads of hydraulic oil.
>> So it could be working now.
>> It could be. I don't know, but I need to sort that. Absolutely.
>> Right. Chris has just literally just had an explosion of oil everywhere.
>> I've just had the biggest hydraulic shower.
>> I might be able to get that on my CCTV.
>> Oh, you will? Yeah.
>> Ah, yes. So, we feel like cuz he's changed these steel pipes, it's it's allowed air to go into the system and we cracked this pipe here for the main out outer feed. And hopefully now what Chris just said, it it were running, nothing were coming out and then air started and then oil came. So, it's kind of bled itself. But hopefully that's the issue.
>> Right, we've cut the >> that there >> inserts out. We just need to get that pin out of there now.
They're going to be tight then, Kenny.
Right, we've burned the tops of these now. So, what I'm going to do, I'm going to take this master link out and then they might just bang off once we've got it. I don't know if that track's going to drop down, but we'll see. So, what we need to do, Kenny, we need to get that master link out now. Hopefully, it's not too bad to get out.
So, the environment coming, I mean, it's not a bad thing. You know, they do come quite a lot. Sometimes it's due to complaints.
Uh, you can probably imagine a lot of people are complaining about this yard.
It's probably not even people who are local half the time, but that's just what you get, isn't it, Kenny, when you put your business on YouTube?
>> Haters.
>> Jealousy.
>> Yeah, jealousy. Yeah, that is it, Kenny.
Is it? Jealousy.
>> So, listen.
>> Jealous.
>> Yeah, it if it genuinely makes you feel good like in your stomach, you know, like when you you feel good, Kenny, you're buzzed. If you >> when I'm at work, >> if you are the person who complains about us all the time, whether it's the council environment, health and safety, the fire brigade, anyone. And it makes you feel good.
Yeah, I'm glad. I'm glad I'm making you feel good. So, cheers. But what I do want to say, you can complain all you want.
>> You're not going to beat me.
>> We're fully licensed, so the environment can come down here all they want. I like seeing the environment. Right, we're done, Kenny, LAD. OH, YES. Look at that, son.
That's what we're talking about.
>> You're talking up when around doing work.
>> Well, not that's how we That's how we roll down here, Kenny. You must I thought you knew that by now.
>> I'm just trying to think. Maybe I didn't even need to burn them.
>> No, >> I didn't. Did I?
>> Not now.
>> Right. Watch out. That'll be red hot.
Right. We need to get that pin out of there. Can >> Why are you laughing?
>> There's one thing I have to do.
>> Wait, wait, wait. I'm just thinking, is it worth me trying to Do it with the machine.
>> What? Squeeze. What? Like put that amount there onto that one. So it going to be hard work it >> and then I don't know. Yeah, cuz it'll that bit will just slip off.
>> I think we should clean around them.
Kenny best. We can get some WD on them.
>> Very tight in there.
These are These are going to be the problem now. That screw out. Got flit that rubber out.
Oh yeah.
Yeah, they just want a really good clean.
>> I just hope one link is going to be enough, Kenny. I might end up having to do this with another.
>> Well, at least we know how to do it now, though.
>> No, no. We just have to do the next one.
We have to do that one, >> right? What do you reckon now? We need to try and hit it, don't ar them pins out of there. I think the only thing I can do right now is try and squeeze them out with the machine. It's not what I wanted to do because we're at risk of bending the chain now or the link.
But we're going to be freaking here all day, right? I think we'll uh drop that on the floor now.
>> Swing it over.
Bloody hell. Watch yourself there, Kenny. Watch your feet.
>> Yeah.
>> Right. Battery's died on the GoPro, so I'm on my phone, but I just want to record. We've got one pin out. We're just hitting this next one out now. Uh we're pretty much on the last bit, aren't we, Kenny?
>> Yeah. So, let's uh keep Ken's bloody starving, aren't you, lad?
I'm moving. Yeah, you're there.
Ooh.
Final straw now.
This is good.
I'll be going double.
Right. So, we've got the pins out. I'm going to be uh linking them back up. But quickly, this camper van's just come in.
Tell you what, I might bloody might keep this.
Oh my god, this is a cracker.
Oh my god, James. He's done 43,000 miles.
Look at the mileage. He's only done 43K.
>> Yeah.
>> Bloody hell. This is mint. Did they say what's wrong with it?
>> Oh my god. You could I'm not just saying it.
>> Is that what he's >> You could live in here. I might live in here.
>> This is unbelievable.
>> Look at it.
There's a little night heater there.
shower.
>> Are we just towing it?
>> Yeah.
>> Right. Well, I'm just thinking we might need to push it forward so now I can get out.
>> This is Have you seen the mileage?
>> No.
>> 43,000.
>> Jesus.
>> All right. We're just going to tow it up the hill. Get it out the way for now and then uh have a look at it after you.
>> Just set off nice and easy. She'll rip the front end off. Stand back, man. You don't want that chain whipping you.
Easy. Nice and easy.
That'll do. As you can see, yard's a bit tight space. Now's going down. Got your J.
Uh, so yeah, previous J collection parts. Fish standies come down cuz the environment is tor.
>> You know what my favorite saying is, don't you?
>> No, no, no, no, no. That is one of them.
But you could live in that. You could live in that. Listen, >> right, boys.
>> Kenny has jumped on the alloys now doing the wheel popping.
>> We've basically used Kenny for the the hard work.
>> Yeah, he's a grass. Now me and Chris are going to uh be putting it back together.
So Chris has got a little bit of time as we're waiting for the environment agency.
>> We're pretty much ready for them, aren't we?
>> Yeah, we've done a site audit this morning. Everyone's worked their ass off, aren't they, to get us in a good place.
>> And bottom line is we we're compliant.
>> Yeah, we we tell you what, Martin from Tech as well, he said the yard's looking a lot more organized.
>> That is good to know.
>> So yeah, I did say though, thanks to me though.
>> Yeah. Well, >> right. It's >> all yours.
>> What do you reckon then? What do you think's going on here?
>> Uh, dragging that track over, whacking a pin through that.
>> There we go. You see?
>> Perfect. Basically, what's the chain is stretched. It's like, you know, when you take a link out your your chain on your bike. That's exactly what we've done.
>> So, I've took one link out.
>> You took the tension in on that to get >> I've done it on the opposite side on the idler. Now I'm just thinking, do I try and do I lift that up here and try and join it there or drag that that way and join it there?
>> Waste some.
>> Oh, it be well. Yeah, I'll have to do it with the machine.
>> You'll know better than me, mate.
Whenever you think if it's uh easy enough to slide forward either that or we ratchet it >> for me to move for that to move that way, I'm going to have to track back a tiny bit.
>> Yeah. Or if you stick a ratchet over it.
>> Yeah, we could just try and lift it up there. You can see how hard it is to >> It's heavy. It's heavy.
>> I've got a block and tackle here as well, so we can help persuaded. Let me get my gloves on.
Idiot.
Whoa. Whoa.
Right. Hold it there. Hold it there.
Hold it there. What I'm going to do now, I'm going to track forwards and that should pull it on. Chris, right?
Little bit more.
Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah.
We're going to try and wrap it wrap this now. Get it a bit closer and see what we can do.
This ain't going to do it.
All right. There we go.
Yes.
Is it going to have to redo it?
I >> think there's too much tension over there. Need an idea of the hot spot there. Right. Got a better idea. Right.
What I'm going to do, Chris, >> we need to put the power hand in that.
>> Power hand in that.
>> I'll pull it across.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. So, you might just need to hold that like that.
>> Yeah. Sound.
>> Yeah. Put that.
>> Can that see there?
>> Yeah. Got everything there.
>> Can you get any closer?
>> Yeah. Short there.
Got it.
might be all right there. Yeah, I think right. I'm going to drop that and we'll uh see if it'll take a bit of grease.
Right. Well, how where have we got up to now? So, we got the pin in. We've used the pinchers just to help us grab the track over pins through. Take the tension out of that and then see if we can get it greased up really.
>> And where do we learn this technique?
>> Gold rush.
>> Gold rush. There we go.
>> So, I'll tell you what.
>> Put it there. We are the ultimate dream team. I mean, that it went on a lot faster than last time.
I'll tell you that for free. But yeah, >> that's not bad.
>> Yeah, that's it. So, we're going to take off the ratchet now. I think I'm going to put the grease nipple back in and see if it takes a bit of grease and it might actually just tighten up that. So, yeah, we'll do that now. Right, you just hold that camera off. Watch out. Watch yourself here. Now, also with the environment being down, Jordan is in this Zoom meeting for the operator's license. It's probably the worst day for a minute, Chris, to be >> late. Yeah, it's all happened at once, on it, today.
>> Right. So, what I'm going to do now, I'm going to put the grease nipple back in.
Let's pump it with grease and we'll see if we can get that slack out. If we can, we cracked it.
Do you know what that is, Chris?
>> It's a molt of some kind.
>> This is something you like.
>> Nipple.
>> Nipple. I was going to say nipple. Oh, I was looking at the nipple.
>> That's the nipple there. Have a doing it.
>> Hey, listen.
>> Not bad. That is it. So, we're going to uh put this back in now. And hopefully that idle takes a bit of grease and uh yeah. So, yeah, if anyone does want any plant fitting or any heavy plant work, what we calling it? CJ's >> TJ's >> CJ's plant fitting. So, if you do want a bodgege on your machine, just PM us.
>> That's it.
>> Uh Chris is email and we'd be more than welcome to come down and bodgege your machine.
>> Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah. For a fee.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Just a small fee.
>> Just a bit of design in there.
>> I'm going to actually put my arm in.
It's like a lever to get me out of here. Is it?
Oh, yeah. We mate. Yep. You can see it where it goes there. And because it's pushed all that grease out, it probably will be quite clean.
It's going. You're going as fast as that ratchet. Could you, Chris?
>> Ratchet.
>> What do you call water?
>> Water.
>> Watter.
>> Water.
>> Water.
>> It's got a It says 5 minutes 05 on here.
It's counting up to something. That mean >> Oh, it's just how long you've been recording for.
>> All right.
>> I think the screen goes off. Oh, he's here now. I've done it now. You mess.
Chris, I'll come and help you. I'll come and help you.
>> He comes when job's done.
>> Right, we're on the final stretch.
>> All right, I'm just going to come with some grease now.
>> We got the big man here with us now.
Turn up as we finished. Think you've been greased up enough for one day, haven't you?
>> Yes, I'll do this, buddy. It's all right. I've been doing other things.
>> Don't worry, buddy.
I'll do it.
in that.
I could feel it in it.
>> It probably just needs to fill it up.
>> That should be flying up.
Not really.
Where's the grease?
>> I don't know.
It's definitely got grease in that gun on it.
>> Well, I mean, it might definitely >> see how much grease nipple there. It's not even going into the thing.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. It's cuz it's been not going in. I might have to take that grease nipple out and see if it's actually letting grease pass.
>> Yeah. Never simply.
>> I'll take it out.
>> It's not even You've not been pumping any grease in it.
>> Yeah, it's not taking it.
>> It's not on it.
>> Yeah, I had it on it, you idiot.
>> No, definitely not. Look at the puddle of grease in there.
>> Because it's not taking it, you muppet.
I've just pushed the idler in. That's why it's full of grease.
>> There's no way you had that on there.
>> I did.
>> That will not even go on it.
>> I Well, I just had it on. Watch this.
>> There you go. Look, that's on. Now push that on and it doesn't do it.
It's going just slowly, isn't it?
>> It is going slowly. Okay, it is going. I just don't know if there's going to be enough.
>> I mean, take the nipple out, but it must be doing something. It's not coming back out on itself. So, it's got to be going in. If you take that nipple out, you're going to push all the grease back out that's in there.
>> I mean, a bit will come out. Yeah.
>> Yeah. It'll probably back back off, but >> I just want to see if it's if the grease is flowing through it.
>> Yeah, that >> right. So, I've took the grease nipple out again. I'm just going to see if it is actually letting the grease pass.
>> Yeah, there's nothing wrong with that.
>> So, it must be going in then.
>> Yeah, the piston's knackered.
It might be just pushing past the seals.
It's It's basically like a hydraulic ram. Do you know what I mean? If the piston's gone, it might not want to do it.
So close. That last bit.
I swear to God, I've never known any as many people ring me when I'm in the middle of doing something.
>> It's people wanting CJ's mechanics, mate. Oh, that's going to be the Can I give you that?
>> Environment are here.
Right.
>> Yeah. Right. Struggling here. Well, we're not struggling, but there there's loads of little things because that isn't the master link. This hasn't got a groove in it here. See how that that one has a groove for the pin to sit in just to stop it turning like that. So, we're going to have to cut a little groove in there.
Just a little line on both sides just for the pin to sit in. We're going to do that now. Environment. I was just chatting to them then off camera with Chris Dandy. Few things we need to sort which we knew about.
Obviously the pile of scrap is not ideal. Just very bad timing. The bail's not going to go in. Uh, so that we need to sort it. We basically we need to get the B going, right? I'm going to put a fat pad back on here. That one was actually missing.
I'm not missing, but the bolts have come undone. So, I'm going to redo that tight now. And then Chris is going to grind that. And yeah, we just have to uh keep going. It's all we can do.
Nice. That's a perfect job.
>> Have you got a battery?
>> I've got a battery and I've got some proper ground in this as well.
>> Well, you're an idiot then, aren't you?
>> No.
>> Oh, I've got that CCTV footage of the oil. Oh my god.
>> You have to.
>> That was unbelievable, lad.
>> I'll be honest. It was >> definitely >> unbelievably funny.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> Thanks, man.
>> No worries, bro. John actually said he's annoyed about the oil getting wasted.
>> I bet he is.
>> No, he didn't really.
>> Yeah.
>> Not far. You can see they all there.
>> Yeah. Just half a hole.
>> Yeah, but they might push in a tiny bit when it's together. Maybe >> you have to I think I need to do is take all that out of there on both sides. More more and more and more.
>> Ah, right. After a long day of fapping about, we got some uh the uh track is just started to take. Yeah. So, the boro has started working now.
We've bled all the pipes and it's come too. So, it must have had an air lock in it from when Chris took the solid pipes off. So, that's buzzing.
uh ready for action tomorrow now, which is good cuz we need to get through this scrap. Got Chris and Martin down here now just helping me finish the deucing.
We're pretty much there now. Is it going Chris? I can't find any grease.
>> Well, I've got half a tube.
>> It's a full one.
>> No, it's not.
Well, don't No, it's not. It's not. It's half. Martin's been in doing a bit of work on the sprint. That needs a bit of welding, doesn't it?
Uh the the bed has needed a bit of welding where someone winched the crossmember and he just like thought I'll carry on winching. You know like when you can see it's not bending. Just keep going.
>> Yeah. They just go keep all winching.
But we're not going to mention any names.
>> N got tickly throat again. But yeah, so that's affected the chassis now on the Sprinter and it's it needs a bit of welding. So we're going to do that.
Doing a gearbox oil change on the IBco.
What else? There's an indicator light saw, didn't they? That coming up on today's check.
>> And yeah, little niggly bits. Uh, so yeah, keep you updated on that. But right now, the main thing is getting this track tension. I mean, it is going very slow there.
>> Shouldn't be that slow, though.
>> Oh, no. No, shut that.
>> Right. Well, Jimmy's gone manual. I mean, it's a rare sight, but yeah, he's doing a bit of manual pumping down here.
If I if I could head but one person in this yard.
>> Oh my god. Jim, just look at camera.
>> Wow. Wait till you look back at that video.
>> Oh, wait till you look back at the video where you get sprayed BY HYDRAULIC.
>> I DON'T MIND THAT PART. IT'S ALL RIGHT.
>> RUNNING AROUND LIKE COVERING YOUR FACE like you're on fire.
>> Definitely not.
>> Oh, it will put it.
>> I just heard everyone laughing.
>> Oh, it got me.
>> Yeah. Well, I want I want the oil back.
I'll ring me jump right and me pants and me under pants and me wellies and everything.
>> Why are you getting giddy? You don't working. Yeah, >> I'll tell you why I'm getting giddy.
>> Because the veil is working >> and the track is actually tightening up.
I can't believe it.
>> Oh, yes.
>> Yes. I mean, there's no grease in that gun. It's just pumping air in. Yeah.
Know it's doing.
>> And listen, even if it's taking air, if it holds the air, I'll pump it with air.
I'm not bothering.
doing it ain't it?
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> I tell you what, one link I think that were just enough.
>> Yeah, cuz that idle is nowhere near out as far as it was. Oh, it is actually going in.
>> It is all the way out again, though.
>> I think you need another link out.
>> Well, I can get away with another link, but that's not bad, you know.
>> No, no, I'm pretty happy with that.
>> I just need to watch it now and see whether it starts creeping back.
I don't think it will. I mean, if you look at that, that's actually better than the other one.
>> Yeah. Yeah. We could put a bit of greasy other one as well. Uh you reckon then put the plates back on?
>> I think so. Yeah. Is it?
>> Oh, yeah.
>> Have you got all your bolts?
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> Right. Uh what do you reckon? Do we >> track it? Track it back to that middle there.
>> You don't want to go too tight with him.
>> No, we do.
>> No, you don't. I think you've emptied that. Right, that'll do.
>> Well, why don't you put it down and do a couple of run track it round a few times now.
>> Right, we'll track it a few times. Let's just make sure it stays right and then we'll do them there on that front.
And it's a good day cuz we've got that out. Yes, this one.
That'll do.
>> Lower it.
>> Yeah. Lower it down now. Yeah.
>> Didn't move back that tensioner a one bit.
>> No. Put the track back.
>> All right. All right, we'll get these track pads on and new uh the bolts back on and then we should be ready ready for tomorrow.
Yeah, right. That's what we I swear to God, I'm going to someone soon. my phone as soon as I put my gloves back on.
God damn it. How we doing?
>> Just died.
>> You like how angry I'm doing, mate?
Right. Well, that's it.
All done.
tightened everything and that >> right managed to load a heavy then and the bales at the end of the day everything just seemed to come to at the end of the day the bail fixed the deuce and track is all working so yeah what does Stuart want and now Lucy's come to annoy me >> you know got me to speak to him the phone >> hi everybody how are you I'm just a bit warm cuz me and Zoe have just been on a run on the railway tomorrow.
>> Um, but yeah, hope you're okay.
>> Nice. Want to see you. Byebye.
>> I'm going to pass you back. So, don't really want to be on the camera anymore sweaty. I'm not going to lie.
>> I feel knackered. I've fasted all day.
>> You look a bit dirty.
>> What time is it?
>> Look at your little face.
>> It's 10 6 normally. I'm not knackered at 10 6, >> but I've been up since >> half five. What time did we go? Gym 600.
So, we got six.
>> So, we're up at R5.
>> It's 10 6 basically 12 hours.
>> We like doing our cardio sessions on a Wednesday in the morning.
>> Lucy's been going Jim. She's trying to keep up with me, but she >> What do you mean? Oh my goodness.
>> You are a liar.
>> I tell you what, I've just seen a new short what we've put out, but we've putting a load of shorts out from the old footage. I was quite fat in one of them. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But it shows I've actually lost a bit of weight.
>> Yeah. What was that from an old video?
>> Yeah.
>> A >> Right. So Stuart said he's took one of the waste notes home. Now we keep the waste notes on every single load of scrap. What goes and we also input it into this diary.
This is a Oh, I would say yeah, this is what No, this is the EMR diary. You was going to read it then and it wasn't EMR, was it?
>> No, this is actually an autumn one. This is an autumn one.
>> That's why.
>> No, the good I've got the good EMR diary somewhere.
>> Actual daily tasks. This is just the scrap one.
>> Uh, but yeah, EMR is getting a lot of our scrap. So, shout out to EMR.
>> No, EMR.
>> European metal recyclers. It's Ole who we deal with. He's our >> It sound It doesn't sound right, but he's our relationship manager.
>> Yeah. So, we're actually in a relationship with Ollie.
>> We're in a scrap relationship.
>> A >> But yeah, he's a good uh he's a good buyer, very good communicator.
He's all right. He's actually all right.
So, I don't know why I'm giving Ollie such a good shout out. I must want some crispy cream donuts.
>> No, >> so yeah, we've been busy. We're going to be bathing tomorrow full speed ahead. The track on the Ducson has actually tensioned up perfect. I took one link out which was just bang on. So I'm buzzing with that.
>> So is this all stuff you found in cars?
>> Yeah. Everything. Oh no. Yeah.
>> What the heck?
>> Right guys, >> right.
>> Say time to go.
>> I'll tell you what. I might actually give that Chris >> a >> to try and get him up in the morning cuz he keeps on missing the gym.
>> He does miss the gym.
>> Chris, yes. You missed our cardio session again.
>> Mess up. You're an idiot. I mean a messer. So, what we're going to do, Chris, I'm going to give you this tomorrow, lad. Yeah. Get yourself up in the morning.
>> Right. Time to go. Bye.
>> Right. See you.
>> I know sometimes life can be tough.
And you feel like you just had enough.
