Government incompetence often drains more public resources than corruption, as demonstrated by cases where billions are wasted on legal interest bills while essential services like healthcare suffer from severe underfunding and inadequate infrastructure.

Is incompetence draining more cash than corruption?
Added:You So, most people would be shocked if I told them that we lose more money on incompetence relative to corruption. We lose more money on incompetence relative to corruption. I want to give you a few examples.
>> Okay.
>> Um last year in 2023-2024 um I told you that the government spent or our budget was 3.8 trillion.
Um we spent 1.6 trillion on debt service.
Um we spent 130 [clears throat] billion on health care.
Okay. So, we're spending about 1 shilling on health care for every 12 that we spend on debt service.
Out of this 130 billion that we spent on health care uh when you go down and you look at these reports, you find out that that department is Department of Health spent 8.2 billion on interest on legal bills. So, that 130 billion that your government is telling you that it spent on on on health care actually was 8.2 billion on interest alone on legal bills.
So, the question you need to ask yourself is >> Again, not on the bills themselves, yes, on the interest.
>> on the legal >> So, the question is how much was the actual legal bill, right? So how how can you how can you how does that make sense to anybody? I'm looking at a report and it starts out of 130 130 billion.
>> Yeah.
>> So, you go through these reports and you what you see is one page says that in my very hospital um patients spent 261 days lying on the floor, basically sleeping on the floor or sharing a bed with a stranger because we don't have enough hospitals.
The same department the auditor finds that we lost 8.2 billion on interest on legal bills. Same department.
So, you know, when you're a citizen and you see that and you expect your government to be competent you know, if you're a leader anywhere, particularly in the private sector, you're not going to be able to survive a day when you when you have that kind of behavior.
