[00:00:00]Your reporter in Denver, Jasmine Arenas, is looking into what was supposed to be a highly anticipated wristwatch release.

[00:00:08]All of that anticipation ended in chaos, cancellations, and disappointment. The drop at Cherry Creek Mall prompted people to camp on the street, and this morning rushed through those doors to get their hands on the luxury timepiece.

[00:00:22]Jasmine is live from Cherry Creek tonight. Jasmine, the sidewalks are empty now, but they were packed last night.

[00:00:29]Yeah, Tory, it's pretty clear that the site is empty now, but last night it was a different story. People had their chairs out camping out hoping to get their hands on that $400 AP pocket watch, but that didn't happen.

[00:00:50]That's the result after what started as a highly anticipated watch release turned into complete disorder Saturday morning at Cherry Creek Mall.

[00:00:58]>> It's chaos.

[00:01:00]It's chaos. Maurice Anderson works inside the mall, and he documented days leading up to the event.

[00:01:06]Have you been living under a rock? They finally let you own a piece of [music] luxury.

[00:01:10]>> people started lining up days before with some camping out as early as Wednesday as people hoped to get their hands on the Royal Pop collection, part of the Swatch AP collaboration.

[00:01:21]>> People think that they're going to make thousands and thousands of dollars off this watch even though the company said themselves they're going to keep restocking the watch.

[00:01:28]>> But on Saturday morning, it got messy.

[00:01:31]>> All they heard was there's less than 100 watches, we need to get in here. Chaos spread, and everybody was fighting.

[00:01:36]>> The watch is a more affordable entry into the world of Audemars Piguet, a luxury watch brand where some models can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.

[00:01:45]He says he can understand why some people would camp out.

[00:01:49]>> It's just like it's a cheaper way to get into a AP watch.

[00:01:53]>> But after days of waiting, people left empty-handed. Video shows people pushing through doors, crowds surging inside the mall as security tried to control the situation. Everybody bum rushed, everybody bombarded from all different types of areas of the mall. Just running, losing their minds. We reached out to the mall and store for comment and have yet to hear back, but as of Saturday the Swatch store inside the Cherry Creek Mall remained closed. We're in a crazy time, people want to make money, but it is not worth it.
