This narrative elegantly demonstrates that identity is a fluid choice rather than a geographical destiny. It serves as a powerful testament to how genuine human connection can dissolve even the most rigid cultural boundaries.

Indian Woman Finds Love In Asaba, Embraces Igbo CultureAdded:
A lot of people have told me that this is my life's worst decision to come to Nigeria and I want to prove them wrong.
>> Love brought Jessica Williams thousands of miles from Delhi, India to Asaba, South Nigeria where she now calls home.
>> When my husband told me that he was to come back to Nigeria, I was a bit nervous uh because what we see on the news channel and everything, you know how it is. But I had since I'm very adventurous, I wanted to go. I wanted to take the chance of going to Nigeria. And I was very happy. But I also had a plan B. In case this doesn't work for for us, we are going to come back or start something. Let's see.
>> Married to an EU man and embracing a new culture. She's redefining what it means to belong.
>> Initially, it was very difficult. Uh well, let's talk about food, let's talk about climate. It's very hot and it was very very difficult especially where we live. We live very inside but gradually gradually I started liking it. The perspective here this side is really good. Even when I go to market place they welcome me. They welcome me really well >> in a place once foreign. Jessica has found family, friendship and a deep connection. Baba be the most memorable moment was that the task force police people they would stop us and they would ask for my husband particulars before he could even bring it out you know they would look at me say where are you from and I'll say India and they would be so happy like it's like they have been to India I feel I feel like I feel at home and they welcome me they greet me they say my wife you're welcome our wife you're welcome this is the outside picture She leaves the culture fully with her children even carrying EU names.
>> I actually want them to have an EU name because that is their root, their father's root and they should have it.
The Nigerian culture is like very different compared to Indian culture.
When it comes to clothes, when it's come to food habits, we eat lot of spicy things. Everything has spice in our food. We don't even get Indian food.
Yeah, we hardly get Indian food. So we only used to Nigerian food which is very healthy and tasty.
>> For Jessica, home isn't where you're from. It is where you choose to grow.
