Dr. Lee Removes Johne's Facial Cyst (S2) | Dr. Pimple Popper: Breaking Out | LifetimeAdded:
My name is Johnny. I'm 31 years old. I live in Glenda, California. And I have a bump on my right cheek.
>> I'm Carmen and Jonathan is my youngest.
>> This uh bump on my right cheek, it's ugly and big. Feels like a ball of mashed potatoes the size of a golf ball.
It's growing by the day. Like it's mutated or something.
I noticed this bump 5 years ago. At first I thought it was like a regular pimple and end up uh trying to pop it, but my bump never popped.
>> So I would tell him just leave it alone.
Maybe it'll go away. And no, it just kept growing and growing. So I started worrying. Then that's when I started telling them you need to take care of it. Go to the doctor.
>> It was like 4 years ago. I went to the urgent care. They said they could do something about it, but they end up not getting back to me.
I just gave up at that point and I still don't even know what it is.
>> Good morning. Checking in.
>> Yes.
>> Yes. Okay, perfect. You can just sign your name on the clipboard for me.
>> All right.
>> When I was younger, I used to be more outgoing, but the bump on my cheek threw out my confidence.
>> I noticed that his self-esteem was really down.
>> I missed my reunion in high school cuz I didn't want no one to look at me. I feel ashamed. You know, there's no way to hide this, especially in the restaurant.
I've been working in restaurants for 6 years. I'm a server right now, but I have a lot of passion for cooking. I started cooking like when I was younger.
I was 7 years old or something. To be honest, I got tired of waiting for the food. I was like, "All right, bro."
Like, >> like when we're going to eat?
>> But when I'm serving at my job, I see people stare. I walk to the table to customers. I'm just nervous if they're going to ask me if they want another server or what's that on my cheek. It's very overwhelming.
I want to own a restaurant and that's my dream. But I don't want someone to be looking at his bump on my face, you know, a little gross out like he's cooking my food like that. That's his passion to cook for people, make them happy. But everybody's looking at him like if he was some type of monster. I want him to be happy again.
>> Hi.
>> Hello.
>> How are you?
>> Hello, guys. Dr. Lee, nice to meet you.
>> Nice to meet you.
>> I have Dr. Sheila Farhang with Nice to meet you.
>> Hi. How are you, mama?
>> Good, mama.
>> Yes, I am.
>> Nice to meet you.
>> You got two derm surgeons here with you.
>> All right.
>> Welcome. Thanking.
>> Your mama is pretty excited to be here.
>> Very.
>> Are you really? Oh, that's good. You worry about him, huh? He's got this bump on his cheek.
>> Always. Yes.
>> How long have you had that?
>> Uh, 5 years.
>> And have you seen anybody for it?
>> Uh, went to a couple of doctors. They just took a look at it and they just end up telling me they didn't want to do that.
>> Okay. Have you ever tried to squeeze it?
>> Yeah, when it was uh smaller.
>> Okay. Did anything ever come out?
>> No.
>> Okay. So, let's take a look. Okay. See what we have here. Let's take a look at this area here.
Feels definitely that it's more like a subq, you know, like just submal.
>> It's pretty soft.
>> Mhm.
>> It extends a little further out.
>> Do you have any suspicions of what it might be?
>> You know, I'm thinking maybe dermal inclusion cyst.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah, I think so, too. It looks like it could be a cyst. I mean, that's my going thought on it. One of the issues here is that it's on your face. Mhm.
>> So it must really affect your life.
>> Yes. I work in a restaurant.
>> So that can be tough because unless you can wear a mask, I suppose, and hide it, but that's hard too, right?
>> Yeah.
>> One thing about the face is I do try to minimize the scar line. You don't want there to be like a X marks a spot of where the cyst is. So if you don't mind, Dr. Sheila and I are going to work on you together. Okay.
>> Thank you.
>> Okay. Let's go get ready and we'll see you in a little bit.
>> Perfect.
Wow, finally.
>> I'm just nervous. I hope that Dr. Lee is going to get it done so I could just smile again.
So, we want to keep it small, but we also want it to go with the curvature of the cheek there. So, >> that's probably >> I agree with that.
>> Yeah. Okay. One thing that I may do differently here is I'm gonna probably make a little incision in the cyst and squeeze most of it out and then I can numb up around it so that I don't have to numb up around underneath right now at all like that I do after I've kind of ruptured the cyst a little and made it smaller.
>> Dr. Farhang has a lot of experience doing surgeries on the face. So, a lot of skin cancers are removed and we have to remove the entire skin cancer. So, you have to leave a scar. In the case of a cyst, it's not life-threatening. So you're really trying to remove it with as little of a trace as possible.
>> Of course, if you feel anything uncomfortable, you let us know.
So you do it similarly to me. I mean, you lift up and you sort of undermine you. Okay. Huh?
>> Mhm.
>> What What do you want to What do you What What do you want to do? You want to >> squeeze it? You want I mean, >> I can I feel like I can get it out, >> but like intact.
>> Yeah, intact.
>> Okay.
I personally would not try to get the cyst intact using such a small incision.
I'm going to stand back and just see what happens.
Just got to squirt it.
Bam.
>> I think now you're going to have to squeeze it.
>> Mhm. Mhm. That's why you got to choose when to pop or that cyst is going to choose for you. Hold on. Let's squeeze some way. Good. You got the sack there.
Hold. So now that we have a good hold of the sack after we squeeze out a lot of the contents, really kind of try to pull it away from his body so we can really try to dissect underneath and get the whole sack out. Nice work. I think Dr. Farhang really did learn some new tricks during this procedure. Just knowing how cysts act and how they might surprise you. It's almost like they're like a hidden little Pandora's box. Sometimes you don't want to mess with it and sometimes you really have to open that box to get that cyst out completely.
Do you want to take a look at it right now first? Yeah.
>> And of course, things are swollen.
>> Look at your cheek.
>> It's back. It matches the other side.
>> Mhm.
>> You need to show your mama. Huh?
>> Mhm.
>> I still can't believe it. It's gone. I feel happy now. I feel relieved. I feel at least like 10 lbs lighter.
>> Wow.
>> Come in.
>> Oh no. Come here. Are you okay?
Come here. Come here. Come on. Come on.
Let's go. Let's go. He wants to see you like this. He wants to see you like this. Come on.
You want to sit down?
>> You can sit down if you want to.
>> Yeah. You look so great.
>> Thank you to Dr. Sheila. She helped us here.
>> Thank you so much.
>> She looks great. You, too.
>> I've been waiting 5 years for this. I'm just so happy that it finally got done.
Thank you, Dr. Farhang, too. I appreciate it so much. Of course, I'm glad you did great. Thank you. Bye. Bye.
Bye.
>> Dr. Le and Dr. Sheila, especially in my life. So, when I have my restaurant someday, I'll name um jalapen poppers after Dr. Popper. I'll come cater over here to Dr. Lee. Let me know what you want. Dr. Lee, I'll make it for you.
Just let me know.
It's been two months since I saw Johnny and his big juicy cheek sis and his smile is so beautiful >> since I got my procedure from Dr. Lee. I feel amazing. I haven't looked this good in over 5 years. My confidence been wonderful.
>> His cheek is nice and smooth and he finally has the confidence to pursue his dreams and work towards one day owning his own restaurant. Good luck, Johnny.
whatever.
