The video offers a pragmatic blueprint for Manchester United to prioritize structural depth over commercial vanity. It is a necessary shift from reckless spending to the cold logic of sustainable squad building.

How Manchester United & INEOS Can Make The Transfer Window Work! | w/ Stephen HowsonAdded:
But if it was 30 and it's he's coming in as the fourth of your three.
>> Yeah.
>> If it's Mayu, Bruno, Jin Anderson, he's your fourth guy.
>> Jay here, Stretford Paddock. That's Steven Alson. And this we can't really say it's off the bar because we're missing some people, aren't we?
>> Yeah. Half of them.
>> Half of them. They're not here. So, >> what's the excuses? Reel them out. Put them under the bus.
>> Ma said, "What the [ __ ] is off the bar?"
>> Right.
>> That was his reply when I said, "Where are you?" And Joe said Joe said, "Yeah, Joe said, "I'm eating some avocado on prawns, so I'm not going to be in." So they both let us down.
>> Prawn, quinoa, car.
>> I love how annoyed you get at him wearing carart cuz he doesn't know anything about >> person, not one person in the comments last week picked up on how good my spark plugs are in a diesel.
>> What?
You don't have spark plugs in a diesel?
>> No.
>> Right. You see, I didn't know that.
>> I don't know anything.
>> See the thing with internal combustion engines, Jay? You want your petrol ones and they squirt a little bit of the petrol in and then the spark plug ignites it and then it forces the piston down, right? That's how an a petrol engine kicks off. With a diesel, they kind of squirt it in and then they sort of just compress it until it like explodes it back.
>> Right. See, you've met the people that you own this channel with, haven't you?
>> Yeah. But, >> right. Do you think any of us don't wear car hat then?
>> Okay, that's fine. That's I get that point because that's what annoys you about Joe is not the fact that he doesn't know about the difference between a diesel and a petrol engine.
It's the fact he wears car which to you suggest suggest something >> who has a knowledge of a basic knowledge of cars and mechanics and should be able 1986 Maradona shirt and I walked up to you and went hand to god and you went uh >> right I understand you'd be annoyed. You think how can you wear that shirt and not even know like all those people that wear Ramon's t-shirts? They've never heard of him, >> right? Okay, fair enough. I get that point. Yeah. So, Joe doesn't didn't know. Did no one in the comments pick up on it?
>> Not so, >> right? I'm surprised cuz usually people do. Um, so Joe, if you're listening or watching, make sure you >> put the pros down. [ __ ] >> get get one of your Hannes manuals out and learn how to uh change a spark plug or learn the difference between a petrol and a diesel engine. Otherwise, you're not allowed to wear carart anymore.
Steve, >> I don't know the rules. Yeah, I mean, just enforce them.
>> Yeah, he enforces them. Um, so speaking of which, even though it's not speaking of anything I'm about to say, Manchester United.
>> Oh, no. Dad, >> you know a little bit about them, don't you? Um, we're going to go turbo in the summer, aren't we?
>> To a certain degree.
>> I personally don't think so.
>> Right. Okay. We're going to buy at least one big signing in inverted.
>> I do believe so.
>> That big signing might be 60 million. It might be >> might be 90.
>> 90. Yeah, that can happen. But if we are going to do that, we need at least four or five players because we've got 20 more games. We're losing a first team player who starts every single game in Casemiro. We're losing some fringe players with the likes of Yugatti.
Probably losing one of the goalkeepers.
You're going to have to replace these players just for the squad, even if you don't rate them. So, we're going to need to buy at least four or five players, which means you're going to have to get some bargains, aren't you? Because we're not going to go out this summer, are we, and buy 60 million quid players?
That ain't happening. So my question to you is, do you think that's doable for United? Do you think we can go out there and do what we've done under Inos so far and find a few more bargains because we've both criticized Inos for certain things, but you've got to give him some credit. They have got some decent signings in at relatively low prices.
What's that thing you always say? I was trying to think of it this morning and I couldn't I got it wrong.
>> Was it yesterday tomorrow's prices?
Yesterday's news to or whatever it is.
The one from Phoenix.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Tomorrow's news at yesterday's price is today. That was it.
I could I was trying to say I forgot. Um do you see United doing that? Do you think it's doable for United to go out and get a center?
>> My entire really hope so because the value ad that that brings.
>> Yeah.
>> You you let's just you know let's say it's Chuania or it's Anderson it's 80 mil right. You kind of know >> Ron Seal time.
>> It's on the tin. You kind of know what you're getting. Fantastic. But when someone pulls out a Patrick Daru um who I had done a scout report on and vaguely knew of wouldn't say expert in but like vaguely had watched Sen Lemons I didn't I had to Google him like >> I mean that's a proper left field one that I knew especially you might scout report >> yeah and but it's not just >> he had one season didn't he had one season as a first season >> it wasn't just that like it was it was as we was as we were signing him unsure if he was the backup or or what and then he's come in and he's just gone back this up. Like >> unbelievable. Like the fact that it's not even like if I said to you, I think we should probably sign a new goalkeeper this summer >> to replace him. People would be like, >> "Hey, >> [ __ ] are you talking about?" Like, no, absolutely not. He's unreal. So, if you can find anyone, I mean, how much even cost us?
>> Was it $18 million?
>> Can we check?
>> 18, I think, was the price.
>> Outrageous.
>> I mean, that is ridiculous. you bring in someone of that ilk at that sort of cash like imagine there's a c center central midfield for $18 million he's Casemiro do you think there is because okay you got Patrick Dorgu he's a left back he's a young player was it 20 million you you could go a step further and say you got Aiden heaven but it was a bit different because I think you know he was a kid and he was a million quid that's just let's not let's be real that's not happening do you think you can go out there and get a midfielder for that price range that can can come in there's talk in there I think the closest you've got to it in terms of reports and stories and links is it Shay Charles the kid at um Southampton which I think is people saying he's around 20 to 30 million quid may >> still has got a low asking price supposedly but >> yeah I do think they are out there I don't think you can financially or even just logically just buy 80 million pound players for every single position >> I think but I think free transfers are always a good one you get your ass handed to a little bit on the wages and stuff like that you I would look into that but a lot of people seem to go what about Lowendowski as a bit of a backup and yet plays in a similarish style to Cesco wouldn't be such a bad one to have certainly a great one for him to learn from would he want to come to the Premier League in a you know you know relatively mid-M United at this stage of his career would he what would his wages be probably not [ __ ] all I imagine coming on a free from Barcelona >> is there a way around that like with a signing on fear or anything or do you have to just give him big wages >> still giving him the money >> no I understand that. My point is sort of Inos have bats themselves into a corner a little bit with this we're not doing these wages anymore so you can forget it and it's like all right okay sound and then a year a yacht >> yeah yeah yeah we're not giving him wages but he now owns part of Sulford like what okay um >> not Langworthy >> he's not having that you know how many [ __ ] goals he scored >> you give him we >> leave Langworthy alone >> okay um so do you think there is like you could maybe give him big sign on fee and then his wage is like 250k a week which is doable. Do you think there could be a way of doing it or do you think that someone like Leandowski who has been sort of doing the rounds on social media because people are going look Leandowski top player one of the best you know of his generation getting you know past it but could do a job for us. Do you think there's a way around it or do you think it's just not happening is my long-winded question.
>> He doesn't fit their under 25 under 24 sort of profile. It's only 11 years off, >> but a free transfer surely does bend that rule. I think >> I think >> a year, which it would be obviously you're not going to go as a three-year deal unless you've completely Edward it and you're mental. Um, but if you went a year, >> like obviously you just come in for one year as a backup. Yeah. I'll give him a one plus one >> as a backup and then we re evaluate cuz the funny thing is every striker we've got older striker we've got it's the second season that's fought him in it like Zlatan was mint in that first season >> he was injured though >> yeah I know but I'm not saying it's his fault but it was like what 17 league goals we'd all take that wouldn't we and was it like 24 or whatever it was in all competitions >> he was three and all was he >> yeah Ronnie came in for that first season similar numbers I think it might even be identical numbers about 20 odd in all competitions a good standard of goal return for him. Um, Cavani, another one. We all loved Edison Cavani. He had two chance. We all loved him. Double figures in his first season, but every single one of those players for different reasons, obviously he's the injury. Cavani, I think, was just unhappy the fact that Ronny come in, took his number off him and he wasn't justified.
>> Yeah, which I get Ronny just didn't fancy it anymore and wasn't really feeling, you know, life at Manchester United under Tanag and decided to go run off to his mate Pier Morgan and make it untenable. But it was all the second season, was it? So if you had like one player who maybe came in for a season, the worst that's going to happen is you've got a player who's not quite scratched for that one season, but you probably don't rely on him the way we relied on those other players I've mentioned.
>> Yeah. Well, you've got Cesco, aren't you? If it's a striker, so let's say it was Leandowski, I'd go one plus one me, >> would you?
>> Yeah.
>> So for anyone who doesn't know what that means, that's literally give him a one-year deal and if it if it works out, you've got you've got the option of going.
>> Yeah. And then obviously even if he's [ __ ] in the second, well, he's gone at the end of that year anyway, so he's not lingering on. Yeah.
>> And but if he's crap in his first, you don't activate your second >> cuz I'm I'm in two minds with Leandowski. Part of me feels like no, he'll be 37 by the time the season starts. I think we can't be doing this again. But then it's Leandowski >> and he's free and we don't have another but let me ask you this, right? Okay.
Team sheet comes out, Cesco took a knock in the warm-up.
>> Z Josh is playing.
>> No.
>> Okay. Leandowski is playing.
>> Yeah, I get where you're coming from.
I'm buzzing like it's it's like when Falc started for United or came on for United. I remember your video and you're like Falc's coming on. It's like Vanl Falc was playing for United.
>> Can I touch my [ __ ] in a threat for them?
>> Yeah, exactly. And it was like nobody did it.
>> Yeah. It's a gray area. No one's quite sure. Um so if you had Leandowski, it's one of those signers where people they'd be moaning and they'd be like, "Oh, what we doing?" Or we've gone backwards. But a lot of people go, "We get to watch Leandowski play for United and he's one of the greatest strikers."
That's the biggest thing for me is he that Cesco remains first choice. Yeah.
>> Whether or not he'd feel like he was first choice in your mouth.
>> That's the that's the rub or there's the rub as the bad said. Can you convince Leandowski to come to United in what may be his last year of playing at any remote top flight level and be second choice? Will he stomach that? Because he might be like, well, I'm not going to spend what might be my last chance of playing top football as a second choice striker. And sometimes Cesco doesn't even start as it is. sometimes on Bumo or Cooney might start up top. So there might be an element where he's like not really sold on the idea and you don't want to put Michael Carrick in a position where we could get you Leandowski, but you're going to have to start.
>> No, he has to he has to be on board with you'll get 25 games.
>> Yeah. Is is there we've spoke about Leandowski and I think that you know everyone knows who he is and and and whatnot. Do you think there's other areas where we can go out there and get free transfers? Yeah, I mean I have I'm going to do a video on it at some point this summer anyway just because what you do anyway.
>> Yeah. And that like I'm interested in what's available. I think Gretzka might be another one that's available.
>> Yeah, Joe. We did a free transfers argument the other day and Joe went with uh Geretska obviously for Bayern.
>> Vlavic is another Vlavic might be a better fit than Leandowski.
>> Well, he's only 25 I want to say.
>> He's older than he >> is a Someone Google how old Duchon Vlahovich is.
>> What?
Oh, was he? Yeah, he's 28 until he's 29.
Don't you understand how fractions work?
>> Sorry. 27.
>> Oh, so just completely just making it up. All right. Noted.
>> Yeah, that reminds me. Remember when we um when we'd be on a live and you'd ask a question and someone like Casey Evans or someone just shout out the wrong answer and then you'd say it and then they go, "Well, I don't know." And you like, "Thanks for that." We've just said it on live. Cheers. Um Vlahovich >> chairs used to get wung around in here.
>> Oh man. Wong.
>> Wong. Is that a word?
>> Wong.
>> Steve's party trick back in the day.
This channel's come on a long way.
Honestly, you've got no idea. You might question the professionalism on this channel. It is a million times better than >> Not only that, people behind the camera right now are sober.
>> Yeah, they're sober. Steve's relatively sober.
There's not I've not seen I don't want to jinx it. I've not seen him throw anything for a while. And also, I've not seen us start a live video with an empty chair for a while, which was you the bike trick.
Ste last week, >> did he?
>> Who did?
>> No, Steve was there.
>> Steve was there, but in a gym.
>> All right. Yeah.
>> All right. Okay. Well, that don't count.
All the times we've had on this channel.
Um, yeah. Do do you think then of those players you mentioned, Gretka, for example, Joe was advocating for this the other day.
>> Yeah. Players like you need depth. Like you can't go into the expectation of Manchester United next season will be a lot different. If we go out in the first round of the FA Cup and the League Cup, even if we did well in the Champions League and the league, it'll still be a black mark.
>> Yeah.
>> Like you've got to put in a better showing across the board.
>> And you're right, it probably will be 50 games more than we played this year or close to it.
>> So yeah, I think you've to to facilitate that. I mean, mate, we're one bad injury away from it really like >> Well, the signs are here. The signs have been here this season. You look at that West Ham game where it came as was it four days after the was it the Spurs game that was before it.
>> Um >> and and we struggled. We looked leggy.
We looked like we we were struggling to cope with the idea of playing two games in a 5 days period or whatever it was.
There's been other games as well where we've looked a little bit off it.
Obviously the leads game was it was kind of the other way around with leads. We had that massive break and I think that didn't help us. I'm not making excuses because it was abysmal. But there's been games where you think even with one game a weekish we have struggled. If you're then going to have two or even sort of three games over the an eight day period or whatever it sometimes works out at and you're gonna lose Casemiro, then you're gonna have to make that work, aren't you? And it's this is the thing that worries me a little bit is the sheer numbers of it because if you go out and you spend you just mentioned him, let's just use that as an example.
8 million quid on a Chu Mania. There's your Casemiro replacement, right? Sound.
Okay, now I'm going to give you another 15 games which you've basically got the same squad as you've got now. What are you going to do about it? you you need another three players, but you've just spent 80 million quid. Like, it doesn't work, does it? So, you're going to have to go out there. Do you think there could be a way of going the other way round and going for some of the younger players? I don't just mean bringing players through the academy like Shay Lacy, for example, maybe Jim Thu, get some minutes, one of those two, but also looking at potentially another Patrick Duo who was a relatively young player.
>> I put Patrick Duo in the the bargain basement sort of buys as Sen Lemons.
>> Yeah. you know, and yeah, I think there's a there's an angle there for that. Yeah, I think if like I think you probably have to add and it might even be more than this when I've really laid it out. You might have to add six players to the squad, >> right?
>> Now, one of them could be Shay Lacy.
>> Yeah.
>> One of them could be Jim Tweets. Yeah.
>> And and they get 10 games next season, which is >> takes the weight off somebody. It might be Kakoni, might be a Jai. like there's there are players that are out there might you might need eight, you know, spreading some of that, you know, game time out.
>> Well, we did the we did the work the maths and I think there's potentially is it like 10 players leaving >> like one other Christ. Well, yeah, a lot of them already are.
>> Yeah. Hland and and Rashford, you know, but then you've also got Sancho, but then you've got, you know, Bay might go, Xerxi might go, Yagi might go, um Casemiro's going. I mean then you've got all the younger players who probably not really featured who just going to be released or whatever.
>> Yeah. I think what I'll probably end up doing I think I'll probably end up doing a video where I look at like I reckon you need 25 26 and you know three in that 25 26 get five or less games but they're in the squad you know and they're there if you need them including your your backup dancer goalkeeper like you know people like that. Tom Heaton's clearly going to be number three.
>> I love the fact he stayed by the way.
>> I do.
>> I think that's great. No, I think it's a good move as well. right? He's third choice goalkeeper, right? Is he going to get many games? No, he probably don't get any. But is he a good person to have around the squad? Now, when you're talking about having a good person around the squad and it's a 60 million pound attacker or whatever, doesn't work. That's not why you have him. When it's someone who's been at the club on and off since, you know, the ' 90s and is a good guy, gets on with everyone, is a bit of a leader, understands it all.
And we've, you know, you you obviously know Tom a lot better than I do, but whenever I've met him in any sort of capacity, whether it's been my kids or just general, he seems like someone who has a bit about him.
>> Tom's a great bloke.
>> Yeah. And I think that matters as well.
And I think >> goalkeepers, pitch Michael aside, like a lot of the goalkeepers that I know, you know, Nick Kulkin, Nick, >> Nick C with a shout of being the [ __ ] best blogger in the world.
>> He's he's class. I'll never tell that story. When we did a charity game, Nick Kulkin was in goal. He came in the dressing room out of time, realized he was the manager, and then said to Steve, "Make sure you get your lads to shoot at me." And then when we were shooting off target, he then basically grabbed a corner and threw it into his own goal.
>> Allegedly.
>> Allegedly. Allegedly. It was a charity game, by the way. Let's not get uh our noses out of shape. But no, you so you understand like Tommy staying on. You're getting rid of a load of players.
>> Vite Vite could be your number two. That makes sense to me. And that's been added and not cost you.
>> Yeah.
>> So there's one. You know, you might say, "Okay, Jim Tweets is number two." Two.
Cool. Right now, we need four. Now, there's a lot of talk that Xiao Gomez is going to Atletico, I think, >> which could mean Edison from Atlanta is available cuz they were in for him.
>> Yeah, they they've obviously got a short list of >> Yeah.
>> a sexy Brazilian was what their short list was.
>> I think Edison might I mean, it could cost anything. I don't even know. Like, it could be a year. Yeah. It's weird.
He's got a year left.
>> Could be 50 like 30. I don't mind if if if it's 30 and he's our Xiao Gomez, I prefer Xiao Gomez, but if it was 30 and it's he's coming in as the fourth of your three.
>> Yeah.
>> If it's Mayu, Bruno, Jini Anderson, >> he's your fourth guy. I don't mind that.
I don't like him being the Anderson or I don't like him being the Casemiro replacement. I like him, but I don't like him as that.
>> I'm not seeing a lot of him, obviously, cuz >> I don't like him as the main guy.
>> Don't watch much football.
>> The I don't mind that. So if if you added three to your midfield and it's Jim Thuates, Edison, >> Anderson.
>> Yeah.
>> Okay.
>> You think that could work?
>> Okay. Yeah. Still need a forward.
>> Yeah.
>> I I So what we got? Let's just I'm not really been tracking this, but let's say Vit is one.
>> Yep. He comes in.
>> Jim Dates is two.
>> Yeah.
>> Edison Anderson.
>> Are you throwing in Lacy >> or Kong?
>> No. I'm I'm going to sort of accept that they're probably a part of it unless they go on loan.
>> Yeah. Um, I think we're gonna get loose hall.
>> Why do you think this?
>> I just think we're gonna get loose hall.
And >> have you got any reason to believe that?
Is it a hunch?
>> A hunch. And then I think you know >> a striker, >> right?
>> And let's use our free transfer for that. Let's let's say >> see when you put it like that.
>> Yeah, that seems doable, >> doesn't it? Doesn't seem like >> that's probably 200 million. 280 million quid, which we expect them to spend.
Like we're gonna get >> Yeah. You think you'd think 70ish for Hall. Yeah.
>> You're thinking let's call it 90.
There's 160.
>> 40 for We spentundred Was it We spent 200 million last summer, didn't we?
>> Yeah. I think it's We've got to pay off a credit card bill. I think this year.
>> Of course we have. Um and also going into this season, we've got Champions League football, right? Which has a minimum of what is it? I think the minimum now is like 70 million because the Adidas deal and other things where it's like >> Yeah. the there's a financial guy that I I quoted and did a video for and it's like yeah that's accounted for don't worry about that like the the money is a lot tighter than >> basically a lot of our revolving credit i.e. our overdraft.
>> Can I start calling my own overdraft revolving credit? Sounds better, doesn't it? Using my revolving credit to to to pay for this. I am scared.
>> But do you know what? I'm going to go out on a piss this weekend. I'm just going to use a little bit of revolving credit thing.
>> It sounds a bit dip into my revolving credit.
>> Oh, I Yeah, I might do that.
>> Not that I'm up to my neck in my overdrive.
>> Yeah, let's probably not call it that.
>> Sounds so much better. It sounds like you're managing your money well. I've just had to dip in a little bit. My revol spoke to my financial advisor. I mean, your wife.
>> Yeah. Mrs. told me we're in our overdraft. I spoke to my financial adviser and they've told me that advising revolving credit. So, >> um yeah, I think look at that 200 I think is well doable. I think 300 is probably giddy.
>> Yeah, I think as well 200 is almost like you've got it. I don't want to I don't think Inos are looking at and going we're going to go in and >> that was the thing I was saying they could just get another credit card.
>> That that was something that >> that was something that they said to this problem more credit They could end up just getting more credit.
>> Yeah.
>> But the credit that we've got is kind of coming in. They could also push it down.
>> I don't want to go off on a tangent then and I don't want to keep too long. But >> why not? [ __ ] It's off the bar.
>> Sort of. Sort of. Yeah. We'll just call it off the bar. Um, >> put off the bar there.
>> Right. But yeah, go on.
>> Do you think there's a part of him that looks at and goes, "Look, right, we've got a manager who's doing really well, right? His win rate and everything.
We've got we've got a midfielder who's 31 who's arguably the best midfielder in the world right now.
>> Our owner's in his 70s and he ain't going to be around forever. Can we not just go for it this summer? Do you think that could happen? Because >> this this team, especially the team, not the squad, is very very good. Right. It is. I'm I'll argue that with anyone that that 1 to1 is up there. I know we're going to lose Casemiro, right? 12 to 18, not so much.
>> Yeah, it's the squad that's the issue.
And I know that's how you win titles, not by your 11. You win it by unless you're Leicester, you win it by your squad. And that's where we'll >> I actually think if I'm going to give say it quietly because I think who's listening. If I was going to give Arsenal any credit, I think they they've actually padded the squad out very well this year. Their backups, you know, people that have been coming in, whether it's you have, you know, whether it's >> or whoever.
>> Yeah. I think they've really given them a lot. I mean, even Lewis Skelly in the last few weeks.
>> Yeah. Well, we were linked with him and we spoke to Daniel Kahn from Sky because he was one of the ones him and Rob Dorsey I think was saying that a few months ago and it shifted slightly in the sense that at the time he wasn't getting minutes they had it in Cappy and Califury. So it's like plus they could do with moving on a player academy graduate might have changed now he's been getting more games plus we don't know what's going to happen with the Champions League final. So we'll have to wait and see. Um, but yeah, they have managed it, aren't they? And it's weird with that squad because you look at and you go, I don't think there's there's many players in that squad who aren't starting. You go, I'd love to have a M United or whatever. They're sort of all right, but when you need him for a I don't know, a [ __ ] Burnley or whatever or even a Spurs or whatever, they can come in and get you a goal or >> Yeah. In a way, the likes of Xerxy aren't.
>> Yeah, cuz Xerxes been I don't want to hate on him because it's like kicking a puppy in a minute. Everyone's just done with him and but he's just nowhere near the levels you need, is it? And then when you look at that when Michael Car's going, "Right, I'm gonna have to bring in Xerxes and Yugatti this week."
>> The drop offs.
>> No wonder he's not making subs.
>> Exactly. It's like, "Where's Car not changing it?"
>> He's gone.
>> How injured are you, Casemiro?
>> We've all done it.
>> Yeah. How lacking are you, son? You not got another 15 in.
>> Your assistant goes, "He's fuck." Get a sub and you go, "He's got five more minutes. Five more minutes."
>> Jay, I was winning a game in 86. [ __ ] minute 2-0 this season. Made a couple of subs and lost 4-2.
>> I understand Michael Carrick's thing.
>> Exactly. He's been there. He's walked in your shoes, Michael. Do you know what I mean? No, I I do think that team wise we're golden. It's that squad. We have to add to it. And I there's part of me that thinks Inos might just go, "Fuck you. We are getting Ellie Anderson for 100 million. We are [ __ ] going to go out and get Chuani as well. We're going to go out and [ __ ] Yes, we'll give Leandowski whatever the [ __ ] he wants.
We'll buy him a yacht on [ __ ] Eckles Canal cuz it's the new Dubai apparently.
Um like we're going to go we're going to go for it because Jim Ratliff's not got long left. Bless him. And we've got a player who's absolutely amazing and he might >> [ __ ] running marathons. He'd be right.
>> Yeah, that's a good point. He's doing [ __ ] times better than us. Um and also we've got a player who's probably >> I'm joking.
>> We got a player who's the best in the world, but he's 31. He's not going to be the best in the world forever. Like let's just [ __ ] go for it now.
>> Yeah. But I can maintain an erection gym, so [ __ ] it.
>> Yeah. Exactly. And and it only takes two Viagra. So who's winning there?
>> Got to smack it about it.
>> Yeah. There's no Do you not have any feeling that United might >> No.
>> No.
>> But you know what? They're playing the Euro Millions, J. So I am a [ __ ] dreamer.
>> I don't know, man.
>> I would genuinely for [ __ ] all of the reasons under the sun.
>> Love us to just [ __ ] do that >> cuz I think now's You know why? I think now is the time to do it.
>> Yeah. City are [ __ ] >> Yeah. Chelsea are [ __ ] Yeah.
>> Although they could be a bit spicy.
Liverpool are [ __ ] Yeah, >> Arsenal will have a massive target on their back and I reckon they there's a very real like Liverpool last year very real chance they smell their own farts this year.
>> Let me ask you a question.
Who would you say is the best Arsenal manager ever or in the Premier League era?
>> I think >> how many titles did he retain?
>> Oh, zero.
>> Exactly. It's not easy retaining a title.
>> However, >> he was up against Jose Marino and Alex Ferguson.
>> I get that. But >> that's that matters. Yeah, it does. He's not up against [ __ ] Enzo Moresca, Baldy Mcbaldy face over there at Liverpool. And let's be honest, Michael Carrick finding his feet with with 11 serviceable players.
>> That's a very good point. I do think though when you look at Arsenal title, and I'm not taking away from they won a title. Well done. Yeah, you get a trophy, whatever. Um it doesn't strike me as like that's a team that's going to dominate now. Like that seems like a team that could falter.
>> Yeah, that's easily a team that could have spent all summer smelling the roses. their players are retweeting people's grief at them. That doesn't bode well of that doesn't smell me like right the way United was like cool next one. Yeah, next. Like that mentality.
>> You can't have 18 Dwight Yorks in your team.
>> No.
>> Like you can't you can have one and you can get away you can wheel him out now and again score a hat against Arsenal and put him back on the bench because he's still on the piss. But you can't have all your squad doing that because it's not going to work.
>> No, you need your people like Yino and that who go [ __ ] that was last week you did.
>> Yeah. Not I don't care what we did last week. This we [ __ ] got, you know, Villa away now. Get on it. Um so I just think that this might be an opportunity where Inos look at it and go >> are we closer than we think.
>> Yeah, >> that >> it's just the >> gives me a tingle in my nuts.
>> It's just the [ __ ] I know it's so obviously and I'm glad that I've done that but it's it's just the um >> it's not the first time. Um >> I know it's so it's just the transfer, isn't it? We've got to get it right and it's that's the thing. Well, I think if you replace Casemiro effectively with a with a with a Tuman or an Anderson and I'm not really honestly if we pull out some [ __ ] absolute Herbert and it's not either of those two, I'm going to [ __ ] cry big.
>> If we go, well, you wanted to remain it, but can I interest you in a new deal for Uganda?
And you go, what that season ticket renewal, is it legally binding? Can I cancel it? Um, look, I expect them to go turbo.
>> Don't put that evil on me.
>> No, I do. I think >> I think they'll definitely replace that, but it's whether or not they can get all six. And I think if you you know it might even be six brand new ones to be honest, but like we need we need an half a dozen.
>> We do, don't we? And that in in many ways though that's a good thing because I think it's obvious cuz no cuz you hear me out because I know in the past where we've had this sort of delusion where it's like well we're only one player away and you you know we've even bought into that idea. If we just get go out there and we just bite I don't know. I tell you what we do. we'll go out and we'll get a Ari Magguire and a Wisaka and a young lad from Wales and we'll be fine. And it's like no we're not. We need more than that. And I think there's no denying we need at least four or five players if not six. Like you've just said, >> Dan James was dog [ __ ] >> Do you know one thing that annoys me about Dan James, right? He's used as an example of the great business we've done. And I get we made a profit on him, which is good. We we sold him for 27.
Like even that signing leads were going to buy him for 4 million quid in the January and we bought him in the summer for 12 and he didn't do loads between the January and the summer cuz I checked and even that like bargain we got was a bit like we had our pants pulled down a bit because he was 4 million quid three well six months ago and he hadn't done much since then. It was just cuz United came calling they went well actually we can get another [ __ ] eight million out of him and they'll still think it's a bargain >> mate. So I and you know what used to annoy me as well about Dan I like Dan James I think he was until he went to leads um scored some goals at Yeti had he's you know helps us win some matches and all the rest of it but then people get carried away and it was like he's better than Rashford and all that and I think he's not shy he's not I know you might not like Marcus Rashford but Dan James is better >> that one game against leads in Perth >> and I'd had a few >> you wouldn't have been able to tell you reckon >> I wasn't even there I'm only messing >> we got after You know, it was me, Maka, Will, and Joe.
>> Yeah, cuz I This is the one I didn't go on. This is when it was >> We woke up one morning, right, to um the phone going in our hotel room, >> right? Was it the old bill?
>> No, it was the hotel going. You lot were meant to check out an hour ago. No, we're not cuz we don't even fly till tomorrow, lads. Our flight's an hour and a half.
Where, too? Singapore.
So, we had to absolute panic pack our room and get down to the >> How are you panic packing? Right. You're the most organized man. It was >> I've ever met. I will never forget Steve's itinerary for his packing and it literally said on his list, wedding ring times one.
>> That was a list he had. I have never forgot about that ever. It will stay with me forever. Like that was how organized it was.
>> What?
>> So list.
>> So yeah, >> Jay, right? Listen, coming from a military background, >> I'm not I'm not >> Everything gets itemized, >> right?
>> I've got I'm trying right now to put together a fiveweek one and I' I've got two suitcases to the World Cup.
>> This is another thing. Steve travels like the Kardashians. Yeah, he's got like a case for every day. And then what I love about Ste is he'll go, I've just got to go and do some uh filming with real uh producer Ben, can you sort that out for me? And I meet you at the airport. Wait, did I did I pack it and just leave it all on the bed though? I didn't I didn't be like just pack my [ __ ] for me.
>> No one could have packed that other than you anyway. That was a like you had some like sort of Tetris thing going on that only you could solve. There was no way anyone was going to help you on that one. But I don't know how you lot made a flight >> and I preempted it.
>> No, you did. I mean, you did >> and it [ __ ] it worked, didn't it?
>> There's nothing better as well than being late at an airport and arguing with the staff or whatever. My favorite one was where we um we'd filled out Joe's visa wrong. Well, when I say we, I had and he'd not check it. So, it's his fault because it's not my fault. You got two passports. I'm an American. I'm actually I'm British. [ __ ] off. Pick a sign.
>> Have a big madeup name as well. Some absolute walking. Come here and let me talk to you.
>> Yeah. What's your name? Joe Smith. Yeah.
All right. Tell me then another one.
>> Um.
>> Oh, when Michael Brown's traveling with you, right?
>> Yeah. Okay. But but Ma had a solution to this problem at the airport that we didn't have the right visa. He argued the case that we should have a world without borders.
>> Do you know on the way home? I don't even the airport. This woman's at the reception looking at us and America is going shouldn't even have borders anyway. I'm thinking that's not going to work.
>> And TSA, come on.
>> The um the flight home from America last tour. I on the plane I got my painkiller dosing perfect.
>> Right.
>> On the way to the airport, I didn't get my painkiller doining perfect. I don't know if you can remember.
>> Was this when you were you rubby tackling us?
>> Yeah.
>> What?
>> That game you wanted to play?
>> You had your ear.
>> No, that was annoying. That was annoying. I don't like playing those games with you. They get rough very quickly. So that game for the audience, right?
>> Got a broken arm and I don't find it >> funny. That game is get down, Mr. President.
>> Yeah.
>> Right. So when you're in a group and you're traveling, here's the rules >> and then everyone dives on >> the last person to notice that you got to put your finger in your ear. You all dive on and shout, "Get down, Mr. President."
>> On podcast.
>> Yeah.
>> Did I?
>> And the thing >> No. On the on the way home on the way home, I had to go hospital with me to tough. Right.
>> Yeah. And um they gave me lidocaine which didn't [ __ ] work.
>> You can ask you paid >> and I was dipping it like a [ __ ] It's liquid, right? And I'm absolutely it's in me gum and I'm off my melon. I chat GPT like right this [ __ ] ain't working. And it was like a whatever dose of ibuprofen or did they call it [ __ ] they call it some different >> Oh, what is it? Not ibuprofen.
What's it called?
>> They call it Advil maybe over there.
>> Yeah, it might be. I think >> it's like ibuprofen basically. And there's a concoction of iber ibuprofen and paracetamol like you have that would sort me out.
>> And I wasn't quite getting it on the plate. I was spangled in on the bus on the way to the airport and then I got lost in the toilet. I don't know if you remember that. And then I didn't know I had my ticket >> and I got stuck at the gate.
>> Really? You don't remember?
>> You show me the ticket officer the ticket the wrong way around.
>> He kept pressing He kept pressing my call for assistance on the plane.
>> Call for assistance. I don't remember that.
>> Yeah, I don't remember any of this.
>> No, but on the plane I got my dose in perfect. So, it's every four hours. I set an alarm and I wasn't in pain and I was completely [ __ ] off my melon with it.
>> So, where's that flying to and from?
That's is that coming home?
>> That was our homewood bound from wherever the [ __ ] we >> Atlanta was it not was it?
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah, that was Yeah. Right. So, that was when all my things got squashed on me cookie crumbled.
>> I got lost. I got lost in a toilet >> and you lot had all gone into like the little Alton Towers ride up to the the TSA guy, >> but I I needed adult supervision. Like I was [ __ ] mangled. And then when I got to the >> I wonder why it was so quiet.
>> I shouted like, "I ain't got a ticket."
And you're like, "You have?"
>> So I forgot. Yeah, I do remember how Mangle Ste was and it was like just prescription drugs. It was just cuz of his tooth fake. Yeah. I forgot about that.
>> And then I was like, "Oh, I've got it."
And then I shown him >> the blank back ticket. This guy's just like, >> "Yeah."
>> So the [ __ ] is going on?
>> Steve's lost his career. Come here, son.
We'll look after We're looking after him. He's It's He It's okay. He's with us. Yeah, I forgot about that. I forgot about that. That was class. That um Yeah. So it was a good trip all around, was it? But when you was in Perth, you had to get to the airport in sing to get to Singapore in an hour and a half. We had to pack up, check out like they literally was that's what had happened.
>> I knew how many days there was and how many days we were like whatever on the trip, >> right?
>> But we lose a day in the air >> and you not >> and I' not accounted for that in my >> So you woke up you thinking what's this person on about? We got checking out.
>> Yeah. Literally like no we're not it's tomorrow. [ __ ] off. Down phone down. And then they kept ringing and then they were knocking on our door and I was like let me just check. And I was like, >> "Oh man, >> that's rough that as well, is it?"
>> And we've been out like what we did in in Perth was we stayed on UK time, i.e. up till 5 every morning just getting um homework done. And staying on UK time was the best thing we ever did, by the way. But we'd been out every me, Joe, and Will had been out every [ __ ] night. And then I can't tell you what Maka was texting us when we was in the queue at security in Singapore.
It's the funniest series of text messages I have ever had in my life. and the most stoic, aggressive, not asked, don't [ __ ] make noise, don't make eye contact sort of passport checking fell in Singapore is in front of us and I'm getting these text messages and I'm pissing my sides and it's like he keeps looking over and he's thinking he's not let us in.
>> He's no he's not having any of this.
>> He's not letting us in.
>> Yeah, >> he's not letting us in. I'm not going to get in anyway. Yeah, it was class.
Singapore was class.
>> I'm gutted I missed that. The one I missed. That was the first one out was when you was you and Maka was devils because it was like yeah because it wasn't it wasn't Pas before I think this I think that was the catalyst where we were like >> we need to do this thing on our own like we need to sort of get together and make this happen and then we did and the rest is history. Um well I think we've established there that United are going to buy a load of players and some of them might cost a lot of money.
>> What's the plans with the the tour this year with I know I'm I'm doing Dublin and are you lot doing everyone else? I think Joe and Mack are doing everywhere else. Um I might do a fleeting visit to some of them because like an in-n-out job.
>> Do Dublin.
>> I'll do Dublin. I think that's like it's [ __ ] I can I can get to Dublin quick and get home.
>> Um like genuinely. So yeah, I'll probably do Dublin, but I don't know about how long I'm going to be there cuz Dublin's the one where the the club are staying there for a little while. I think they're having a few days in Dublin. They're doing some events. Um we might do an event in Dublin. We're going to have a chat and try and get something together. There's There's Is it Finland and Sweden as well? Is it I think >> Poland >> and and where >> and Poland? Sorry.
>> I can't do it.
>> So you What are you doing? Aren't you at the World Cup as well?
>> Yeah, I've got I've got a 24-hour passish for um for Dublin.
>> Right. Well, mine will be probably similar. So, we'll do we'll all do what we'll say then, right? We'll say >> if we do Dublin, what's the plan? Do an event the Tuesday and then the game on a Wednesday? Yeah, I'd want to do it before the game. I'd want to do it the night before.
>> You want to do day after day?
>> No. So, we'll do we'll try and get over to Dublin. We'll get over to Dublin.
>> This is news to me.
>> Yeah. Well, we're planning it now on on on camera. Uh so, we'll do an event the night before the game and then the game and then obviously stuff around that.
So, yeah, we've been at Dublin twice and done events and it was kind of like it was good, but even though we had like planned everything, it was a little bit last minute in in some respects. So, we'll get something together. It'll be me, Steve, Joe, and Maka. Maybe you might have Uncle Webbby or someone join us or like you did last time. We'll we'll work it out. We might end up linking up with uh some ex players as well. We've done that a few times. Wes has done it with us. Chalk has done it with us. But we'll put something together and we'll post obviously on the socials and on the channel and we'll do an event in Dublin because we love it when we do it there. The response is great and obviously United are there as well. We do when United aren't there. So now United are there. It's the ultimate [ __ ] no-brainer. Um and you went to see Oasis in Dublin, didn't you? So may I was genuinely [ __ ] brilliant.
>> I am mega jealous or not, you know.
>> Why did I say no when it kept going >> is the games at Croat Park in it?
>> Yeah, it is. I think so. So there you go. You see you can revisit the scene of the Oasis gig. Uh so yeah, we'll be there. We'll be in Dublin. We'll be all over the tour. People have been asking in the lives and stuff, but we're going to be there. Whether it's sort of Ma and Joe for one of the ones in Scandinavia or whatever, we'll all be there in Dublin, right? We're saying that right now. And as you know, we stick to our word. Um, stay enjoyed that. Always a pleasure. We're back for the brew, aren't we, son? Tomorrow. Where?
>> After my ultramarathon attempt last week where I did where I did 8K and got busted.
>> I mean, I I'm not exactly going to start throwing shade at you there, son. Cuz I uh I've not even been able to do full 5K yet since the marathon. Honestly, I'm still a broken man.
>> That's the problem of being in your 40s and thinking you can do [ __ ] >> isn't it? And it's the problem when you set off and everything's all right in it. That's the worst. It's like >> No, mine was tight on the first. So, I did a is a We'll talk about tomorrow.
>> Yeah. On the brew. We're going to talk about Steve's ultramarathon attempt.
We're going to talk about remakes. I want to get into remakes, mate.
>> Remakes.
>> Do I have to watch Oh, you told me to watch Running Man, didn't you? I actually did watch Dead Man Shoes.
You're a knob.
>> He's He's told me to watch Running Man this week, and I haven't. And I'm not going to either. So, um >> Well, I'll tell you about it. then you don't need to watch it. Yeah, you need to watch someone. You can just chat to me about it and I'll tell you everything you need to know. Yeah. So, we'll get into a little bit of that. It's the brewing it. So, I'm just You know what?
I think we're the only United channel that will say this. If you want to chat about United tomorrow, don't watch the brew. Is that reasonable?
>> [ __ ] right. Yeah.
>> Yeah. Yeah. If you want to chat about everything else, then come and watch the brew. So, we'll be live 4:00 Friday.
That's been Steen Alson. Go and check out all these other channels and all the players we've spoken about. There'll be a scouting report for basically all of them. So you can find that there. I'm Jay M. This has been It's finally become Off the Bar.
