Dressing up a business failure as "strategic recalibration" is just a high-brow way to avoid the word "bankruptcy." It’s a classic intellectual exercise in rebranding a painful defeat as a calculated maneuver.

Closing my shop after 6 years. I don't know whether I'm the boxer or the bag…Added:
Yo, yo, yo. So, today is a different kind of video because today is a day I had been trying to delay for some time now.
Um some years, actually.
And here we are. So, uh I'm going to be moving out the shop, closing the shop down, taking my stuff um somewhere else.
And this is not me giving up on my goal not a dream, my goal to do this car stuff full-time.
Um it's just me recalibrating, you know?
Just adjusting the scope.
So, um been here about 5 years, I believe it was, now.
5 years and probably 2 months. And I had a lot of memories in here.
A lot of memories. Um so, with that being said, um I got Cousin King on the way. He's going to help me.
We're going to start getting some stuff out of here. So, I have three cars in here that need to go today. 57 Bel Air, 69 Firebird, and then my 64 wagon.
Um I got to put my furniture away. As you can see, I've I've overgrown this shop a long time ago. And then financially, between what I pay for this place, what I pay for my overflow yard, and then what I pay for my apartment, it's all went up. Everything went up about 50% over the last 4 years.
So, it just does not make financial sense to keep doing it the way I'm doing it.
So, um I put this wagon back together, get this out of here as well. I got engines everywhere, the 400 for the Pontiac, uh for the Firebird, I got the 70 Challenger in there. A gang of parts to move.
Um tons of diecast. I mean, as you can see, I'm walking through here sideways.
I walk through my whole shop sideways.
So, I think there's something on my lens.
Let me fix that.
Okay, so this has been I mean, this is actually pretty organized and and clean.
But, there's I mean, there's stuff everywhere.
I just have outgrown this place.
And then, you know what I'm saying, the the rising cost of rent here, my apartment.
That makes me my yard has stayed steady, but I know it ain't going to be long till that goes up.
So, I need to cut my losses at the moment.
And, as I said, just regroup.
Um I'm seeing out what is going to be phase two of Daisy Speed Shop. So, today's video, you'll see me us moving a lot of this stuff. Over the next few days, I'll be moving a lot of this stuff.
And um yeah, just I got a lot of stuff.
A lot of stuff. This I mean, I still have stuff in my apartment and everything, so I got a lot of stuff to move. There'll be a lot of time lapses going on.
And it's probably going to take me about a week, depending on how much help I get.
So, yeah, man.
And this ain't me giving up on my goal, my passion. It's just me being real with myself.
And it made this isn't sustainable. Cuz I I mean, this is all me.
The shop is all me, the yard is all me, you know, all this content I do is all me. So, it's a lot for one person. I just got to figure this stuff out. Um So, that's what I'm doing. That's what I'm doing. And the first thing to do is to get rid of this shop, and then get rid of my yard. Um between the two of those, I'll be saving 2,500 a month.
So, um yeah, I got ton of stuff to move.
And I mean, luckily I mean, luckily the the guy I rent the shop from, he's cool. So, he's not he's not going to make me pay a whole month's rent, whatever I go over what I usually I won't the day I usually pay the rent, he'll uh prorate it. So, that's cool.
Same thing with the yard, so you know, I've I've built good relationships, so this is not a knock against anybody that I've been renting from and stuff like that. It's just that you know, it's just it's expensive. It's a lot. And everything's expensive right now. I just paid $5 and some change for some gas just now for regular, for 87.
And yeah, so just got to recalibrate.
Um so, I'm going to be stuffing these cars full of parts and stuff, make each trip really worthwhile. And you get to come along. You don't have to do any heavy lifting.
You can just watch.
And I appreciate y'all watching as I got cut on my mirror just now. I appreciate y'all watching all these years. Um done a lot of cool things in here and out of here, but I always dreamed to have a shop, you know, I I used to dream to have a carport just to keep the rain off of everything, so having this shop has been amazing. It's been amazing. Really life-changing. Um had a lot of opportunities come out of this place.
So, I am absolutely grateful.
Absolutely grateful.
Um It's just I'm walking sideways through everywhere. Like, park this.
No.
It's just I have a lot of stuff.
These are all parts that, you know, I sell and stuff. My furniture's work.
Some of this is mine, but >> [snorts] >> you know, I just got to find a more efficient way to do this.
And this ain't it.
All right, well, I think right now what I'm doing is um stuffing this yellow wagon full of boxes.
And then going to I'm waiting for you to get here so I can pull these uh buckets out up and over, throw those in the truck.
So, my Cousin King is here, save the day, never fear.
So, I got a bunch of stuff already um boxed up over here, so I'll stuff all that stuff in there, and then um yeah, move from there. Time lapse.
So, of course, no move out is complete without a huge fluid spill.
So, I spilled some fluid everywhere.
Look like a murder scene, but uh I'll be happy to move this engine hoist out because I slide sideways past it, like probably for the last 4 years. I just never put the casters back on the back cuz there were a lot of things going on.
But, I just slide past it, and as soon as I get by, it go like this. Boom!
And right in the in the middle of my back.
I'm going to give you a reenactment.
I would like roll by.
I shimmy, shimmy, shimmy, shimmy past it.
And I walk out, and every day be like, "Mmm, my back." Boom! Boom!
Ah! So, it'd be good to finally get this out of here, and then actually put the legs back on the casters and stuff, be able to use it again, but my arch nemesis.
So, here's a car I'll be forgetting I even have.
57 Bel Air.
283. That's why I put a four-speed in it.
It's a nice hot rod, so take this first.
I put the steering wheel back on because yeah, had to protect it from the city.
So, yeah.
Let's get that loaded up, and then probably the Firebird next, or maybe this wagon, which is blocking us from keeping getting everything out of here.
Yeah.
So, today's order of business is to get this big whale up out of here.
Problem is it has no brakes. So, we're going to have to swing low, swing wide, sweet chariot.
Hopefully, I'm able to get enough momentum to end up somewhere near the trailer.
Um but, I'll probably end up over there, so I'm going to have to angle my trailer.
Uh neighbors aren't home to move those cars, so I do what we got to do, but we're not going to push this thing.
That ain't happening. Once this out, this out. So, let's see how that goes.
So, here's what we're faced with right now.
Um this wagon has absolutely no brakes right now. So, and the emergency brake doesn't work either. So, what I got to do is bring it out.
And I can't turn it until part of the back wheel clears the shop, then I can turn.
But I'm going to be over there trying to avoid that curb and then I'm going to go be going that way. So the neighbor did move their silver car for me.
Uh cuz I don't know how much room I'm going to have and it's a heavy beast. So um Yeah, it's going to be interesting.
I might need to pull my truck completely out and see where I end up.
But yeah.
Here goes everything.
>> [music] >> Okay. Fortunately it didn't roll as fast as I thought it would.
So that's great. That's good, but now we got to position it so I can get the trailer in there, which is not good.
So yeah.
>> [music] >> It's time to get my poor baby out of here.
Get her some attention.
Been down for like 5 months.
Look at this.
Got mushrooms growing in It's all bad.
We're going to get you some love, baby.
All right.
Locked and loaded.
Ready to do this.
Went out pretty smooth.
And then this thing thing ain't seen a lot of day in probably 4 years and then the Camaro since '21, so yeah, 5 years.
So yeah.
Making moves.
Off we go. So we are at the shop. Don't try to hide.
This is Vince. He felt sorry for me and decided to come help a brother out. Um moving some stuff. Got the El Camino, the Impala and then the Challenger left over. And then I'll just tear the pallet racking down. So he offered free labor as long as I feed him and feed his truck. So what a guy.
High five for you.
And he's like me, can't stop buying cheap stuff he does not need.
He had a pretty dope '69 Sport Satellite 383 four-speed car.
So I'll try to matter of fact I'll insert a picture of that right whoop right there.
So uh without further ado, let's get a time lapse going and get this stuff the hell up out of here.
>> [music] [music] >> When you have two trailers but only one winch you do this.
This should work.
Right, you know.
>> [music] >> And that, my friends, is how it's done.
Two trailers, one winch.
It actually went surprisingly well.
We had one little casualty. How you How you feeling about that, car guy?
Uh what is it? Ingenuity?
How you feeling about that, Vince?
What's that? That car guy ingenuity we just did?
That's uh that's something.
This is the only casualty.
It's not even broken. This is just >> blends. Yeah, we just I got two zip ties for you. It's no big deal.
The housing's still there.
Oh, he sprung for the LED, too.
Yeah, so see what the next thing we get out is either the Impala or the Challenger.
Probably the Impala cuz it's the hardest.
The Challenger's almost like a reward.
We'll come back tonight and wrap up all this uh diecast and put them in boxes. So you guys remember these?
The Dub Edition ones from like 2003 2004.
I love these things. These This one even has spinners.
So All right, let's see what's next. Ooh, won't be that.
Won't be that.
It's going to have to be the Challenger cuz I got to take off the uh I mean I could pull that top part off.
Yeah, I was supposed to put stuff on the top of there and then um that's a lot of stuff to uncover.
I got to pull that uh those pallet racks out.
See if that I scoot all this stuff out the way.
That's equally buried, too.
Uh figure it out.
We finally got the Impala unburied, so it's not going to fight us at all when we drag it out. Putting it into the universe.
So we'll get out with the casters still on.
Set them up right there and then we'll take them off, move my trailer out, drop it that way, load it up nice and easy and head up out of here.
We've been at it what time is it here?
Like 12 something? 1?
It's been about 3-hour ordeal, so yeah.
Time lapse.
>> [music] >> This is how you make a barn find.
Leave in the corner of your shop for 5 years.
Just up the value 50%.
Better than the stock market.
So I got some of the diecast boxed up and out of here while I waited for reinforcements.
So now we're going to free the Challenger from the parts room.
Get loaded up on the trailer. It's going to roll so easy.
That ain't going to be a problem. It's going to be a problem just excavating the stuff that's in front of it and getting it put in the truck.
Ah, >> [sighs] >> time lapse.
>> [music] >> So that's all loaded up.
Happy with the progress. I'll be back early in the morning to get all this pallet racking and parts and stuff. So making progress.
It's all you can ask for.
At least the cars are gone, so everything else is just parts. So I can load all this stuff myself, so that's a good part.
Don't have to wait for somebody to be able to come give me a hand.
Off to new beginnings. Today we're having a wrapping party, getting this diecast up out of here so we can move these um display cases.
So we're going to do this until cousin King gets here.
And then we're going to move the heavy stuff. So uh watch us make quick work of this.
Time lapse.
Okay, so today's order of business is parts parts and more parts. So I'm going to try to make a huge dent in all this stuff I put in most of this or as much as I can in my truck.
And then probably going to try to put all this into my truck.
Then I can take the pallet racking and put it on my trailer which is out there and probably take the seat, these doors, and whatever else.
Um also we're going to see if we can get collect these engines in my driving simulator.
I have one, two, one, two, three, okay, there's another one somewhere so there are four.
Oh, five, six, six with a possible seventh engine. Oh, yeah, six over there and I got part of one there.
So basically seven engines and a block, whatever. I need to put in there right now also. So we plan on putting those King's on the way. So we plan on putting those on this trailer, strapping them down with whatever [clears throat] else and dipping out with this.
Um yeah, so yeah, that's order business. Take as much as we can.
Come back again tomorrow.
Time lapse.
So this is day what I don't know, 100, but I'm exhausted, tired of moving stuff.
Uh this will be the last video for the shop part move and stuff. So um there's still a lot of stuff left.
There's all this stuff still.
All this stuff.
Stuff in the parts room. I mean, we're making progress though, so tonight we are going to uh try to take as much of this as possible.
Throw the pallets off, all the trim, all the bezels, throw all that in my truck.
And then whatever else I can take with me tonight. So yeah.
Um time lapse.
>> [music] >> And there we have it.
The five mirrors.
Oh, man.
Crazy.
We out.
