This pedantic gatekeeping of divine grace turns a message of hope into a cold, conditional contract for an exclusive club. It is a classic example of over-intellectualizing scripture to justify withholding simple compassion from the world.

This Is Why I Don't Say "God Loves You" to RandomsHinzugefügt:
So, I have been notoriously bad at responding to DMs.
Today that changes because I got the bright idea of turning it into content, all right? So, let's do this. By the way, yes, I am standing. I do have legs.
I can move around, okay? I'm just trying something new out today. Hey Amont, hope you're doing well. Thank you. I'm very glad that I found someone with God's gracious wisdom and a fellow Protestant who understands the Bible very well. I wish to gain the wisdom God has gifted you one day. All praise to his glorious name. Thank you so much. But I was just wondering about how you said God doesn't love everyone and I'm trying to understand, what do you mean by this because I do believe it, too. God hardens people's hearts and hate evil and evildoers, but John 3:16 states that he loved the world and he gave his one and only son for the world. I was wondering if you could help me discern and understand this verse and who God loves because you say he loves his children and that he does, but he does hate evil and evildoers, or does he love the whole world with everyone in it?
I'll be praying for you. Thank you for your time. God bless. All right. So, first of all, recognize that it's not me saying that God hates the wicked. That's just Psalm chapter 5, Psalm chapter 11, Proverbs chapter 6, Romans chapter 9, Malachi chapter 1. I did not write those verses, okay? That's what those verses say. It's just what do they mean? So, make sure you get your sources straight.
I'm not I didn't make this up, okay? And so, when we're reading passages about God's love like Romans chapter 8:28 through the end of the chapter, that's one of my favorites, you have to understand what God's love is actually doing to people. It makes them saved.
Grace is given to them. Forgiveness is given to them and they get eternal life.
That's a great gift and clearly that's not given to everybody, okay? So, when I say that God only loves believers, that's what I mean. The fullness of God's love, his forgiveness, his grace, everything, obviously that does not go to the non-believers as well. And so, when John the Baptist says the wrath of God abides on the non-believer, I can simply believe that because it is not the love of God that abides on the non-believers. They are on their way to hell, okay? We're actually doing non-believers a very big disservice if we're telling them that God loves them.
Because biblically, when the Bible says that God loves someone, it almost exclusively means a salvific love, the kind of love that forgives them and gives them eternal life, gives grace to them, okay? But to specifically answer John 3:16, you have to read the entire verse. God so loved the world that what?
He gave his only son that what would happen? That believers would receive everlasting life, not literally everybody. So, even there, this verse cannot mean that God loves everybody equally, unconditionally, without condition, right? And if you read on to the next verse, it actually says that Jesus is the savior of the world. God sent Jesus to save the world. if you interpret the world as meaning literally every human being who ever lived, then that means Jesus was sent to save every single human being who ever lived.
Therefore, you're a universalist. And I'm not a universalist, so the proper interpretation of the world here is, I think, the most literal definition of the world, the creation, okay? God's general disposition towards the world is love. Therefore, he sent his son into the world to be light in the darkness to overtake the darkness and start the kingdom of God, which starts as small as a mustard seed and grows to a ginormous tree. And so, we should see ourselves as part of these two verses, John 3:16 and John 3:17. We are part of that process of God saving the world through Jesus Christ. We are teaching people the good news. People are coming to repentance and faith in Christ so that they would have eternal [music] life, all right?
So, let me know if you guys like this style of videos. If this video gets this amount of likes, then I'll do more stuff like this, all right? But that'll be all for today. God help us all.
