Change in life, whether positive or negative, often involves discomfort and requires mental capacity to navigate; positive changes like house renovations bring disturbance and challenges despite their beneficial outcomes. Mental health can be affected by overstimulation from social media and internet use, which creates pressure and push-pull dynamics in the brain. Effective psychotherapy relies on the therapeutic relationship between therapist and client, with Carl Rogers emphasizing that connection is essential for meaningful change.

LIVE: Psychotherapist chats. How are you? 📍Dublin, Ireland 🇮🇪本站添加:
I am a psychotherapist and counselor and today we're to have some coffee together. Well, whatever is that you're having. Maybe you're also having water and multitasking like myself, but the day has started and so the work has started. It's only early yet, but here I am to chat with yourselves and to ask how are you keeping? Maybe you have any topics that you would like to talk on when it comes to psychotherapy and counseling.
Hi everyone who's joining in.
Hi everyone.
Hi everyone and how are you doing?
Here you go. I have also started a poll just asking everyone how are you keeping today and you have two options even though I'd say we don't just feel either good or bad there is a lot of in between but the poll is limiting me to only two options which you have you can vote either you're well today or you're unwell.
Hi everyone and good morning to everyone who is joining in. Good morning. For those who have been already subscribed to my channel, you know that I do these live streams about psychotherapy and counseling.
So, how are you getting on? How is everyone? And good morning from Dublin, Ireland. As a psychotherapist and counselor running my private practice, I've already kicked off with my work from earlier this morning and I thought I'll check in with everyone. How are you doing? How are you keeping? And I've made myself a coffee a little while ago. I'm sure it's getting cold by now.
So, let's try and have some or let's make some intentional time to have it together. Let me know where are you saying hi from. Let us know in the comments if you wish so.
Mhm.
So, let's talk about the change.
When we're surrounded by change, for example, the change that is around you, maybe some construction work in your house, maybe some guests, which is a beautiful thing and happening, but it can be yet so much change of scenery as well for you and your routines.
What do you think about change? What change really stood out for you in your life as a means of discomfort? What was really uncomfortable for you when it comes to change?
So, people are saying hi from Switzerland.
People are saying hi from is it Portugal?
Somebody saying in the comments, "I've never seen such a beautiful girl like you." Well, I am a woman, so let's call grownup females women and not girls.
So hi everybody who's joining in. I started a chat about a change. What was most uncomfortable change that happened to you or around you and really inconvenienced you? What was really uncomfortable? What kind of change was really really uncomfortable for you in your life so far?
So for those who are new to my channel, I am psychotherapist and counselor.
Today I am having client sessions. I'll have actually one soon enough, but we still have a bit of time. And I'm just coming in to say hi.
My channel has almost 3,000 subscribers.
And thank you very much for those who have subscribed.
And it is always nice to connect with people, new people who are also truly interested in psychotherapy, counseling, who h have who have good manners and who want to spread the joy instead of being unpleasant and invasive and badly badly mannered. So good morning everyone.
This morning we're touching on the change. Changes are happening around us all the time.
Seasons are changing. Days are way longer now finally.
But with the change comes the result that could be excellent. Such as now we have longer days and it's wonderful wonderful to have those long days.
Yet the winter will come. It will bring its own joys.
However, it will be way colder and the days will be shorter as well. So with every change there is a positive and there is a negative. But what about the negatives?
What about the negatives when it comes to the changes in your life? Somebody's asking where are you from.
There is also super chats and super stickers. If you feel free, you can, you know, purchase a super chat and I can answer your questions or to the best of my ability, questions that I obviously are appropriate to answer, but it would be really appropriate to answer where I'm from.
So, for those who are on, please let me know if you're in my channel for the very first time or maybe you're coming back.
First time Miss David is saying 2786.
Hi David. Very welcome, David and everyone else who is joining.
Well, if you would look at the videos that I am posting, you may be surprised that I'm also posting a lot of grocery haul videos. I'm filming in different shops, done stores, little what else, anything, Tesco, sometimes even central or spa. And I'm giving you a bit of a breakdown of the cost of living in Ireland in 2026 and also 2025 last year.
Hi everyone who is joining in.
How are we doing everyone? How is everyone keeping?
So I would like to invite you to talk about the change.
We usually chat about oh or it's more common to chat about the positive change.
But let's talk about when those positive changes require a lot of your capacity and a lot of times discomfort. So what kind of discomfort have you endured as you were on the way towards your positive change?
I'm just looking at the calendar here.
So, let me know in the Well, I can go first. Talking about the change, I find that with the positive change, for example, when you're doing house renovations, there is a lot of disturbance, a lot of disturbance in your home. So, it's something that many people would agree upon, but when you're doing the house reverbs, that is going to be one of the most uncomfortable experiences for you.
It's a bittersweet experience. He say it's wonderful to have the end result but to go through to go right through all the noise all the discomfort and a lot of negotiations with the workers. Something that you thought was very so much said loud and clear. All of the sudden you start realizing how unfortunately things can be lost even though people are speaking same language and people I guess you want to believe have best interest and they're paid well for the job they do but again there was a lot of different things that come to equation so hi everybody who is joining in. How is everyone keeping? How is everyone doing?
me like you know you don't know me.
Good morning everyone who is joining in.
I am a psychotherapist and counselor and still have a little bit of time before my next therapy client. Hope everyone is keeping well and I really want to encourage everyone to chat about the change for a little bit but disadvantages of going through the process of the change.
So good morning everyone. If you haven't subscribed, you know yourself. It would be great to have you around, but only if you are somebody who is interested in psychotherapy and counseling and who has respect for YouTube creators.
So deuce 716 you said good morning. I'm saying good back. Good back. Good morning back to you.
And let me ask you how are you today or what do you think about the change?
What kind of negative aspects of change?
Something that's really really uncomfortable when people are going through the change.
You know me.
N Hi everyone, right Yo, howdy.
Howdy. Everyone pick something. I'm back now.
however keeping and that us is only probably me at this point we that is but you know what I don't really mind wait for the crowds and you'll never start anything don't wait for anything don't wait for anyone to let you start something you know a lot of people are now finishing up the school uh it's just just the time of the year and I was just saying uh just to post like to the attention of those finishing school that don't ask anyone for any permission just go ahead and do things like if you feel that you have like people in your life that are very toxic to you that are just impacting you so negatively and by any means more negatively than possibly like you really have to think if these people can stay in your life because I know that in our 20ies we're just all that person some time but believe me 10 years go by nothing has changed and you're still thinking I don't want to be in touch with this person even though this person maybe is your family member and you feel guilty to essentially cut them off cut them out cut them off the contact yeah but you sometimes got to do what you got to do because it's either you or them.
If they're taking all your life energy, you're not left with the productivity.
Your mental capacity is used. And we don't have infamous amounts of mental capacity.
There is like a bucket of capacity that we have. And if you pour half of it for nothing, just having arguments for nothing, well, you know yourself.
All right. Yo by seeing right I am putting in therapy sessions that are upcoming.
Good morning. Somebody's saying hi. How are you doing?
Hi, I am in a very productive mode right now. So to answer how am I doing?
I will say that I'm hanging in there because right now I have to go through a lot of discomfort as the positive change is in progress.
So, somebody's saying, well, same person.
How was your day? Studying right now?
Nah, I'm not studying.
I'm scheduling my appointments.
Anyh who, for those who haven't subscribed yet, feel free to do so. For those who feel like they want to support my channel monetarily, we have I have super thanks and super stickers which you can purchase and that way support my channel which of course would be really appreciated and thank you in advance.
I am a psychotherapist and counselor for everybody who is joining in. You're very welcome. For those who are coming back to my channel, it's great to have you back.
Can you believe it's already Thursday tomorrow?
Here we go.
That's cool.
Cool. Hola.
Somebody saying, "Hi, I'm from Brazil."
Bondia and the question, can you help me make friends?
If you want my help to make friends, I'd say that I can give you a couple of advices.
First of all, do not lower your standards.
And well anywh who let's start from the beginning. So finding friends, making friends. Everybody knows that once you are further down in your life, it's harder to make friends because when we're in school, we're already in group every single day. Like later in life, you're in the group only when you're going to work essentially.
But with people going to work in school, everybody is like same age as you are on that grade pretty much or a year older year younger pretty much. Right? When you're in the job, it's different because people are all different ages, all different walks of life, lots of different situations, right?
I'm just trying to see something here.
But yeah, what I'm saying is I think most importantly be comfortable with your own self. When you're comfortable with your own self, you will most likely find friends who are people who truly interest you and you can spend quality time together.
I think that friends, so to speak, are overrated. A lot of people think that everybody has a lot of friends. If you have one or two friends, that is a blessing and sometimes a curse, I guess.
But the best advice I can give you is not the quantity but the quality that matters. If you have significant other and that's your best friend, believe me, you have the best friend you can have.
I keep hearing this a lot and you tell me if there is any other meaning that I'm unaware about. Right.
So person here on the comments is saying you have the most beautiful eyebrows on YouTube. Is there any hidden meaning behind that or not?
And this is a genuine question. Oh, the answer is no hidden meaning. It's always me saying it to you. Oh my gosh. Is it?
I don't think so. I've been seeing it from people with different handle names.
So, it's not just you.
No, but honestly I'm educate me please.
Does this mean anything else apart from the eyebrows or does this mean something very Okay, it's been reconfirmed. No, really.
Your eyebrows are beautiful. There is no meaning behind it. Thank you so much.
Appreciate the comment.
Yeah, that's another thing.
One sec. I have a feline. Yeah, let's please stay right here.
I have a feline that who is yeah stimulated by the outside and outdoors could be a bird but open windows and felines we understand.
So the windows closed.
Anywh who, hi everyone. Good morning, good afternoon. Rise and shine.
If you haven't subscribed to my channel yet, you know what to do. Somebody's saying, "Hey, her eyes, how color is."
Generally speaking, we're not here to talk about my eye color or any other features of my TBH. We're here to talk more about human mind, psychotherapy, counselor.
So, please and thank you.
But if you would like to be asking me, you could ask something like, "Would you mind sharing what color are your eyes?" Or, "I'm curious, what is your eye color?
Dang."
for those who are men over here. And for some reason, a lot of you are men over here. And sometimes it can be very uninspiring because the rudeness in my other live streams was kind of hitting the critical point, TBH.
And I thought to myself, I'm not even getting paid for this. I'm not going to get harassed by a stranger with a handle name, I don't know, your Bunny 59. You know, that kind of way.
Like, the answer is no. And I haven't been doing live streams for a while because like I have actual job, if you know what I mean.
Somebody's saying, "Are you available for card readings?"
I can read you Pokemon cards if you would like.
Hi everyone who is joining.
Hi everyone who is joining. So I am a psychotherapist and counselor and today as I am putting in some appointments into my calendar and I still have some time before the therapy session. I'm just having a chat with yourselves. I'm running this YouTube channel for circa five years now and I find I find that it's always good to check in with people and I find it to be boring when there is no real kind of live interaction with with your crowd. You know, I'm very dynamic and I like that checking in with people, chatting with people, but really what what is most exciting to me is chatting about like speaking on certain topics like psychotherapy and counseling related topics. That's why like I'm not going to encourage chats about my looks or any comments or it's great if you're saying a compliment, but at the same time I don't care for it. You know, we're here to chat about psychotherapy. So I would love to gather more people interested in psychotherapy and counseling instead of people like Mike's dad 69 again handle name saying I love Eastern European women like you. Maybe you should leave then this because it's not for loving me as an Eastern European woman. It's being interested in psychotherapy and counseling. And see, this is that double-edged sword. When you're doing the live stream, the amount of just background noise, you know, if I was really to engage with the comments, then you're reading all the unrelated stuff.
And generally speaking, you should really focus your mental capacity to things, happenings that are to the point and on the point that is what you actually want to do instead of filtering all the comments visually reading it through to get to the comments that make make sense.
Now this is a bit more interesting. Tony Learner at 7636 saying I do not believe in therapy for the same reason and do not believe in religion. I am I am genuinely curious and interested. Tell me a little bit that especially the religion part. So say like you know you don't believe in religion. Many people don't many people do but also that you're saying like for the same reason you know the therapy not believing in therapy and religion. So tell me tell me why.
Awesome. From this moment life has beun.
from this moment.
You are the one. There is nothing.
There's nothing.
Okay, so Tony Learner 7636 says replies, "There are 1,000 or more religions just as there are more approaches to therapy."
[ __ ] Sorry for my language, but the questions are coming. My dad 69, complete 360 turn. We're now talking about psychotherapy. Do you believe the internet has created or evolved mental illness into something darker or worse?
See, now we're talking. Now we have something to to grasp on. Do you believe the internet has created our evolved mental illness into something darker or worse?
Well, it's the stimulation.
If your brain is overstimulated most of the time if you're scrolling your brain is over stimulated morning, day, night, it creates a lot of pressure, it creates a lot of push and pull. It's like a good thing. Phone is a good thing. If you need to write a work email, let's say you're self-employed, you need to write an email. You don't need to get your ass back home to do it. You can do it from your phone. So, it's like a blessing and a curse. If you're going to use your phone from the minute you woke up and you start stressing yourself out by it, that's not good. So to answer your question is that it's kind of up to you anyway. It's up to people to decide how little or how much they're using phones.
And when I was studying psychotherapy and counseling, we touched on it quite a lot on the degree as well. And I remember I did a presentation that essentially social media is encouraging social anxiety just anxiety altogether.
It's feeding into that mechanism. You know there is a lot of you get a lot of dopamine through scrolling and when you don't have that dopamine it's also you're very flat. So you have to be able, not you, but everyone should be able to stimulate themselves by everyday things, you know, like for example, I made my breakfast the night before. It's like overnight oats with cinnamon and what is it? Peanut butter and cherries.
So I feel excited that I will be able to have breakfast that's readily made that I made. So that kind of I guess gives me a bit of dopamine as well. You know what I'm saying is that you have to or everyone should be in charge of their lives and see how things are affecting you. Can somebody somebody's mental health get worse because of all this over stimulation with social media and internet? Yes. Yes, it can. Can it worsen your mental health? Absolutely.
So Tony Learner 7636 is saying therapy comes down to guesswork. It hardly counts for science.
Okay. So therapy, right? In other words, psychotherapy is talk therapy. There are lots of different modalities. You have CBT, cognitive behavioral therapy, which actually is pretty much scientific. It's how to change the behaviors that don't longer no longer serve you to the behaviors that do serve you and behaviors you want to have. There's a humanistic psychotherapy also known founding person is a Carl Carl Rogers.
What I'm saying is that when when somebody is unwell, person first of all wants to be heard. So you have to have good active listening as a therapist and that you're also training in your course in your degree of different years in different countries.
But what I'm saying is that well regardless of how scientific your therapist will be if there was no connection between you as humans like therapeutic relationship you know change for the change is going to be way harder to occur. Carl Rogers, the founder of humanistic psychotherapy, saying that the main thing in the therapy is the therapeutic relationship.
And if you don't click with your therapist, he's saying that for the change is very hard to occur.
You know what? I find that a good bit of people are focusing on looks. That's besides psychotherapy. Just like saying the comments and stuff like that, you know that.
Um, so back to what I said, a lot of people focus to the looks a lot. And I think that this is the downfall of a lot of people. If they comment a lot about somebody's looks, you probably are hating yourself because nobody has a perfect look. And I would say strive for your health and being physically and mentally strong.
Resilient is the best way to be. But don't strive for just some physicality.
It's nothing thing. It's a nothing thing.
So yeah, um everybody who is joining in, you're very welcome.
I'll stay out there, stay here for a little while, but I will have to make my way in some time.
There we go.
Hi everybody who is joining in. You are very welcome but only if you are interested in a psychotherapy and counseling. I'm a fully qualified psychotherapist and counselor over here and this live stream is actually coming to an end.
But if you want to see my next one, feel free to subscribe. Even better, I am also uploading weekly content. You also have shorts that are coming without a schedule in particular, but sometimes couple of times a week, sometimes once in a while.
So that is it.
Yet again, today we were chatting about the change. Then it changed into chatting about mental health and mental well-being.
And some people also commented on what they think about the therapy.
Let's just do this.
I wouldn't mind to do this as well.
Perfect.
So, have a good day, evening, and morning, and I will see you around. Bye-bye.
