[00:00:09]My first travel vlogs out of Africa was uh when I went to India and again from India, I went to Sri Lanka, I went to Nepal, I went to Pakistan and the UAE before I came back to Africa and travel within the African continent. So many content creators quit YouTube and end their YouTube career in a very early stage.

[00:00:36]Some are saying YouTube is the hardest platform to succeed in and make money.

[00:00:42]Others are frustrated because of low views, no subscribers which make them to quit YouTube. As a YouTube travel vlogger and content creator who have been on this platform for over four years, I am going to share with you my YouTube experience in terms of monetization, how much I'm making on YouTube, including my old videos, new videos, my viral or popular videos to give you a full insight on how YouTube really works. So if you're outside there wondering how YouTube really works or you are a content creator and wants to quit YouTube then this video is for you.

This is my computer over here and I'm going to log to my YouTube studio to show you guys how YouTube really works like how much I make from some of my videos that I'll be showing you over here and what type of content can you do to make you more money on YouTube. But first, let me explain to you how you can get monetized on YouTube and what are the requirements for your channel to be monetized. Let's talk about the criteria to monetize your channel in 2026. YouTube has made it very easy for you to monetize your channel in 2026 by splitting and structuring monetization into two category. One of it is the early access monetization which allow you as a creator to receive in super thanks and also to create your membership so that your subscribers can subscribe to your membership and be paying you every month and also you'll be having access for shopping in your channel. You can be designing apps like this with your logo, t-shirts, beads and etc. ETC and then you put in your shopping and your subscribers can be buying through your shop and hence you get money. Bro, during our time when we started YouTube, the monetization was only one and that was the full access monetization. It was nothing like early access monetization for you to get the super thanks membership shopping and man. So you can see how YouTube had made it very easy for you to qualify for the early access YouTube monetization is very easy and simple. Your channel just need only 500 YouTube subscribers, three videos that you've posted at least in the last 90 days, 3,000 YouTube public watch hours, or if you cannot get the 3,000 public watch hours, then you need to have 3 million sort views in the last 90 days.

[00:03:47]And it's actually very simple and easy if you're starting a S channel. Another YouTube monetization is the full access or ad revenue. This is where ads are shown in your videos and you earn revenue through the ads. This is basically the biggest monetization that every creator really wants to work hard and get it. For you to qualify and get the full access monetization, your channel needs 1,000 YouTube subscribers, 4,000 hours of public watch time in the last 12 months. And also, if you cannot get that, then you need at least 10 million short views in the last 90 days for you to qualify for the full access YouTube monetization. In all these two monetization your channel still needs this requirement. One of it is the location. You need to be residing in a location where YouTube partner program is available. Some other countries don't monetize on YouTube like me. I am from South Sudan and South Sudan is not monetizing. The YouTube partner program is not in South Sudan. And I'm going to be showing you maybe in the end of the video how I monetize my channel. Also, your channel needs to have a two factor verification security and also you need to be following the YouTube policy and guidelines. Another thing also is the rolling eligibility. I really want to emphasize on this. In 2026, you really need to monetize your YouTube channel in a very shorter time. the rolling eligibility assuming you get the 4,000 public watch hours time and in one year's time and then you didn't get the number of subscribers that YouTube wants to monetize your channel. when you get the YouTube subscriber the other year or the next year the watch hour that you got and the previous year will just disappear all and then you'll be working hard also to get a YouTube watch hour which is really not good and always you need to be consistent so that you can at least monetize your channel in a very shorter period of a time. [00:07:42]So, these are my content. And these are my videos I uploaded on YouTube. I opened and created this channel in 2021 and April, I think I can still remember 21st of April 2021.

[00:07:58]So by then I was doing comedy videos before I transitioned my channel from comedy videos into travel vlogs. This is my first video on YouTube and I titled it how juba ladies confuse men. That was when I was doing comedy. So I'm going to show you guys how much I made from this video. And this video was actually monetized after I got accepted into the YouTube partner program. That was 6 months uh later. So let's go to the analytics of the video over here. And uh you can see so this video was posted in April 25, 2021.

[00:08:51]And this is it. You can see how much I got only two US. That was my first video on YouTube. $2 US and uh the video now have uh 7,500 uh views. So you can see watch hour during that time, bro. You can see the watch out for the video 165 watch hour and the video also got me subscribers uh 61 subscriber and imagine up to now people are still watching the video. So we have uh three uh views in the last 48 hours. Wow. So this is it. And uh when we go and look at the audience watching this video, you can see where the audience are. So you can see the audience. Uh we have Indians 12%, we have Nepal 6.6%, 6% we have South Sudan 2.4% we have Sri Lanka 1.4%.

[00:10:06]So this are the audience watching. So when you see the revenue of this video actually you see that uh the RPM this is the rate at which uh YouTube pays you for 1,000 views and YouTube is paying this video 1,000 views only 37.

[00:10:31]It didn't even reach up to a dollar.

[00:10:33]It's just 30 370.37 cent. So when you come here, so you can see how much advertisers pay. So it's $2.59.

[00:10:47]So the advertisers pay YouTube $2.59 for 1,000 views on my videos. And then YouTube had to give me uh 0.37 now the RPM. So this is it. And uh this is my old video, my first video on YouTube. And if you didn't watch it, please go and uh watch the video so that uh you can see it's actually a comedy video over here. So I'm going to also show you another video over here so you can understand more about YouTube. This was actually my first travel video on my channel or travel content video. So when you see uh the revenue and uh the RPM is now $1. So when I was doing comedy, the RPM was 03 34 I think something like that. And now when you see the CPM over here is $4.79.

[00:11:56]So travel vlogs really uh pays uh somehow well I can say that and uh you can see so coming to the audience uh you see the audience that are interested in watching travel vlogs during that time we have South Sudan as my country uh we have with 22.1% we have Kenya we have the Philippines Uganda and a you know. So that that is it. This is my video traveling outside of Africa and it was when I was traveling to India. So I'm going to open for you this video so that you can see the inside of this video.

[00:12:44]This video is uh 6,000 uh views uh today and I uploaded this video in March 4th, 2023 when I traveled to India. So I'm going to go to the analytics of this video so that I can show you you can see how this video performed and it was my first video I uploaded in India. So you can see from here we get uh 6.4K views and the video brought us uh 270 uh watch hour and also the video brought us 46 subscribers and also we have $4.55 US bro. So when you check on the audience of this video, so you'll see that we have India as the first uh audience with 48.2% and we have Nepal and the United States uh was also watching out the video Uganda and South Sudan. So Indians they support you a lot whenever you go to their country. They watch your content so much. I can say that and when you come to the revenue to see uh the RPM of the video, how much YouTube is actually paying me for 1,000 views of this video. So you can see that YouTube is actually paying me 0.71 cent and the CPM that the advertisers pays YouTube is $2.51.

[00:14:35]So that is it. So, we got the total of $4 US for 6, and400 views. So, this is my first travel vlogs. So this is a 1 million views uh video in India and I actually uploaded this video on 7th March 2023 and you can see it's 1 million and 6,534 views today and the video is we can go to the analytics of the video to see how much I actually make or made from this video. So, I titled this video crazy craziest festival ever.

[00:15:28]I never expected craziest festival ever. Craziest festival ever. I never expected this as a black man. So, during that time I was traveling uh India as a black man. So, let me see. Let's go to the analytics of this video. We're going to see how much 1 million views can pay you and India. So this is it.

[00:16:00]So you can see 1 million views and uh the video also got us 43,000 watch hours and 5,000 YouTube subscribers. And this is the revenue of this video. $254 US for 1 million views in India. So when you see the revenue of this video uh the audience because also the the YouTube revenue depends on the audience of the video where your audience are watching you from that will you get a lot of money. So if your videos are watched uh by people in the US, in UK, in France, you get a lot of money compared to when your videos are being watched in some parts of uh Asia.

[00:16:59]So this is it over here. You can see uh the top geography of this video, India as number one with 88.8%.

[00:17:11]So they supported the video a lot. When you go to India, you get a lot of support. People in India, they watch your content very much and support uh your channel as well. So number two, we have Nepal with 2.8 8 uh% of people watching of the total views and also we have the United States is there but not so many people from the United States watch the video and also the UAE United Arab Emirates and 0.5% and also we have the United Kingdom 0.5%.

[00:17:51]So this is basically why uh you see a lot of views but the money that we make or made from this video is very less because of the audience of this video 88.8%.

[00:18:09]So that is it. India all you can see this 254 US dollar. I want to open for you this video that I titled unbelievable reception at Ayam Marua village in Kenya. So this is a video that I did. I Which year?

[00:18:55]And this video is special to me as Mr. BMG because uh this is the video that changed my earnings on YouTube and I also give thanks special thanks to Ayam Marua or to the YouTubers for the collaboration that actually changed my channel. So when you see uh I was traveling uh Asia during that time and I had lots of audience from Asia during uh that time uh you travel India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Pakistan and I didn't get uh uh like I didn't I didn't have like subscribers from the US, from the UK, from Europe. So all my subscribers watching my content during that time were from Asia and uh the revenue that I was getting was very very uh small and slow. So when I stepped to Kenya and then I uploaded this video as arriving to Kenya, bro, you can't believe how the video performed. You see, the video gets to 10,000 views, brought us 2,000 watch hours, 367 subscribers, and the video got me $37.

[00:20:28]And that was how I got surprised and I was like, "Hey, is YouTube like this?"

[00:20:33]Bro, I started to put my effort on YouTube. And also when I am uh I received some advice from Ayam Marua, he advised me to focus more on Africa to focus more on showcasing Africa content. Uh because uh he told me uh the world is currently looking at Africa. So I should really do more videos within the African continent. So you can see I just want to tell you uh how YouTube actually pays me over here. You can see my RPM even the CPM first of all the CPM goes to8 US per 1,000 views. This is how much the advertisers are paying YouTube. $8. And now YouTube had to give me $3 US $3.54 US for 1,000 views. So when I saw this, I was very happy and I was like, "Wow, YouTube, I'm not going to leave you." So I was almost I was almost quitting YouTube because I was uh spending a lot of money on travel air ticket. But now when uh the man came to an end, the money you got is very small uh cuz uh the the views that I was having that time was full of Asia views.

[00:22:06]So, this is actually one of my special videos. Up to today, I still uh uh look at it as my special video that I've changed my earnings on YouTube. And I'm going to open for you also another video after uh during this time and the Ayam Marua uh uh VA. So, this is also another video that I did uh over there and I'm going to show you how much this video paid me. Uh I surprise Marua. I titled the video.

[00:22:43]I surprised Marua in his village and this happened. So you can see now the video got 5.5K views and now when you see the revenue of this video is $15.

[00:23:02]Bro, that was how I say that was how I noticed YouTube. There's money on YouTube and when you're doing the real thing, you actually succeed on YouTube.

[00:23:18]So when you come to the revenue, you see that my CPM increases. It just increases over here. And also the RPM uh in uh goes up. And bro, this is how is it. And now see the audience of this video. See the audience. United States had to come number one on the video watching me. and India is now 12.3% and United Kingdom and then Canada. So my channel uh was attracting uh so many people from uh Europe and uh America. So you can uh see that. So I was actually the happiest moment during uh those days, bro. So also I'm going to show you another video that I did uh during uh those month. So this is also another video that I I collaborated with Chris Mistlist is a Canadian YouTuber when he came over to South Sudan. We did a collab with him and also you can't believe this video. This video is also another special video to Mr. BMG. I titled the video I took Christmas list to my real ghetto hood in Juba, South Sudan. So let's see the analytics of this video here.

[00:24:55]Check the analytics of this video. It's 21 21,000 views. Imagine 21,000 views. And the video gave us $74, bro. $74. That was actually how I noticed that YouTube is really something else. And you see, it brought us uh 1.9K watch hour, 329 uh subscribers, and you see $74.

And uh I always emphasize that for every if you're a content creator outside there please uh try your best and collaborate collaborate with others so that uh uh you can also be visible you can also get subscribers from from from another channel and then uh you can have uh a good revenue. Yeah. So now when you see here, you see my CPM is increasing. It's just going up. It's going up because of the content I was I was doing. So now they are now paying me $3.55 US per 1k uh views and you can see so when you check it the audience here and they have we have United States they go to 16.5%.

So when we go to the audience watching this uh uh watching my channel currently and you can see this uh the audience now that are supporting watching my videos you see Uganda you see United States of America 11% Uganda is 17% you see the United Kingdom is 6.0 zero. You see South Africa are watching me. You see the Kenyans are also watching me and this is how is it and check the revenue. So how much is my CPM? So the CPM is 12.26 USD for 1K views and YouTube is paying me now $4 US for every 1K views of this video over here. So these are some of the changes that have happened today now in my channel. And also I would like to take you to another video over here.

[00:30:39]So this video is 17 uh.6 US uh no 17.6k views. That is 17,600 views. And the video brought us 2,500 watch hours. Imagine. And also we have 185 subscribers. So the video got us a huge amount of money. 106 US. This is a video I did in South Sudan. And you can see and still is getting views. The last 48 hours the video is almost going to 3,000 views.

[00:31:31]So the audience watching the video, you can see that uh the United States of America is watching the video. Uh 19.5% of the total views are all from the USA.

[00:31:50]And we have 11.4% 24% of the total views from Kenya and 7.5 of the total views from South Sudan. And let me tell you in South Sudan uh YouTube partner YouTube is not monetizing videos in South Sudan.

[00:32:08]Otherwise if this percentage of South Sudan is is going to be from another country then the revenue of this video is going to go high. But South Sudan has no partnership agreement with YouTube. So YouTube is actually not paying any views from South Sudan. So you can see also United Kingdom is watching us 6.4%.

Create the content nearby you and upload on YouTube. man, YouTube is really I can say YouTube is really uh paying and paying good money compared to all the other platforms. So this is another video I did in Uganda and it's also one of my recent video uploaded on May 9, 2026 maybe four days right now. Oh yeah. So let's go to the analytics of this video straight so that you guys can see. You can see this video is 28,000 views 28.3 and the video is 5,000 watch hour. Let me first tell you this before we go far.
