270,000 Tundra Engines Recalled & Toyota still doesn’t have a clue whats wrong 2026 Tundra TRD PRO

We're always dropping new Toyota Tacoma content or 2026 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro in Wave Maker. Now, let's talk about this truck because once again, the Tundra is back up in the news again. Now, totaling 270,000 trucks recalled for bad engines. And basically, they still can't figure it out. They still cannot figure out the debris situation. Uh, it's a bearing issue. Bearing number one, I guess. They don't they don't know what the hell's going on. But, uh, more trucks more trucks are being like 77, uh, 24s have been recalled. So, as of yet, no hybrids, I guess. So, no hybrids at all have been affected by the recall.

[00:00:57]Although there have been people that have had issues with the TRD Pro Tundra.

[00:01:01]There was a guy that I was following on one of the TRD Pro pages or one of the Tundra pages and he had issues with the with it was 2025 I believe it was. He had a mud bath or something like that, but his engine went out really really soon. Some people were on their second motor. So yeah. Um I really like this color. I actually really like the Tundra when it came out in 2022. I thought it was a good looking truck, you know.

[00:01:27]This truck right here looks really similar. A lot of people say it looks a lot like the Tundra, but just smaller, of course, and that's the Tacoma. So, I definitely like the new design of the Tacoma, and I felt the same way about the Tundra when it came out. You know, I thought it looked good. They brought it into the future, but the only problem was everybody was mad that they got rid of the naturally aspirated V8, the 350, the 5.7.

[00:01:51]So, yeah, they just had nothing but issues with this truck so far. And they're talking about a hammerhead. I'm like, a hammerhead or whatever they want to call it. That's they're calling it the Tundra hammer to compete with a with a Ranger Raptor and compete with the TRX or the you know the row or whatever, you know, the T, you know, the the Ram high performance uh truck. But I don't I don't see them competing with those guys. I don't see them competing with the F-150 uh Raptor because they can't even get the engine figured out. So, why are you guys trying to build a big a big uh you know F-150 Raptor killer and you guys can't even you guys can't even make a motor. So, I don't I don't see you guys competing with them. I think I think they just need to go ahead and figure out the motor situation before they start trying to build another truck. You know, if they want to build another truck, put a 57 in it, you know, put a put a 350 in it and put a nice motor in. I mean, just get a nice built, you know, modern 350.

[00:03:03]So, until they do that, um, I don't really I don't I don't really know what the heck they're doing, you know? So, like I said, I think these trucks look good. I mean, you got all this stuff going on up here. You got Fox suspension all the way around. You got upper control arms here, forged upper control arms. You're on 2856518.

[00:03:25]Now, um, you know, these tires look so small on these trucks. So, definitely need to get bigger tires. So, yeah. I mean, the Hammer is basically having like a long travel suspension type of setup and, you know, probably come on 37s and all this and it's like, yeah, it's going to look good and it'll probably ride good, but if it's going to have the same motor, I'm I'm not interested to be honest. I I'm just not.

[00:03:48]But enough about that. So, that's the recall. It's up to 270,000 vehicles.

[00:03:54]I believe they still have a recall on just like the back lights on some of the trucks that just been sitting on the lot. So, you might be able to snatch up like a 2025 or even a you know, I'm not sure. Probably maybe a 25. I'm pretty sure it's going to be 25. We'll go over and see if they're still if they're still actually on a lot. But yeah, they still had a recall for like these reverse lights back here, like shortening out and then uh you know, people not being able to see you backing up and you not being able to see when you're backing up, you know, the extra light. So yeah, they got a recall on that just on the just on the tail lights. But that's, you know, that's the least of their worries. But yeah, let's go look at the price on this one, too.

[00:04:38]So let's just talk about that. I mean, cuz this is almost it's almost a $80,000 truck. Now you got because they really didn't they really didn't do anything to this truck. Like the Tacoma TRD Pro, it got wider fender flares. All they did with this is got these camo. They've been running with the camo fender flares since they came out in 2022.

[00:05:05]I mean, it's not it's not bad, but I'm like, y'all might want to do something else. I mean, the camo, it's it's not bad, but it's just interesting. Like, all right, is that is that the best you guys can do? And then another thing about the Tundra TRD Pro, it just doesn't make sense. So, like on the Tacoma, they made it to where you can use both sides. You know, you can push the button on both sides. On this one, you only got it on one side that you can lower the tailgate. It's a power lifting tailgate and it should raise itself back up. I know the Tacoma does. This thing is probably pretty heavy, but let's look at a price cuz I've been running my mouth about the recall. But yeah, you guys can um go check out like truck talk, SUV talk with Tim over there. Um he's got a video. It's got over 40,000 views right now. And he talks more about the the recall and like what's going on far as like engineers, you know, what the engineers are saying and what Toyota's been saying about this recall and about fixing these motors. But 270,000 motors and I just feel like they just need to scrap it. Like Toyota, I think from what I'm seeing with some stuff is like sometimes people don't want to admit when they're wrong. I know we don't like to admit when we're wrong, but like for instance, this truck right here, they got these TRD Pro. They got TRD Pro Tacoma. You get these is dynamic seats, right? And there's basically no room in the back of the Tacoma. There's never been any room. And now with this truck, the way they set it up, there's no option not to get the seats. So, you're gonna get the seats regardless. And this is a $67,000 truck. So, yeah, you have no room. But what I wanted to say about that is they have an option for this one. So, let's see if this one has it. I don't These ones don't have it. So, you can get these with isodnamic seats.

[00:06:56]I don't know where I was going with that, but um yeah. So, they made that an option. So, I was saying they made the seats an option for the Tacoma.

[00:07:09]Yeah. So, I mean, what I'm trying to say is I think they should scrap this and just put a 57 in, right? Just scrap it and say, "Hey, you know what? This this engine has been a absolute fail and we just need to come up with the new new motor. Let's just put the 57 back in it because everybody wants the 57 back."

[00:07:29]You know, Ford has a 5.0. They have a V8 still. I'm pretty sure Chevy does. Don't quote me on that, but I hope they do.

[00:07:36]But yeah, I just think they just need to scrap this motor. That's just my personal opinion. But, you know, good luck to you if you buy one of these trucks is all I want to say. Good luck to you. Make sure you get an extended warranty or something like that or depending on how long you're going to have it. I don't want you spending money that you don't have to spend for like an extended warranty. Um, basically Toyota has, you know, these serial numbers and they know which vehicles have been affected. So maybe you can still get one of these nice trucks and not have any issues. But yeah, you get everything.

[00:08:09]You get a big TRD skid plate with this thing. You get the So yeah, so you don't have with this truck, you don't have recovery hooks in the front. So that was one thing that people didn't really understand.

[00:08:24]I don't know if we ever got to the price of this one really. 785. I know we were trying to get there. 785 78 536. And here's some of the options here. And it doesn't even have like the performance package. And you're going to get 19 um combined, 18 in the city, and 20 in the highway for 785. So basically, we're going to call it 79. And that's when your boy was born, 1979. So 79,000.

I really do like this truck, but it's a spendy one. Hope they got a discount. So 655 for this thing, man. 2 and 1/2 in lift. But I do like these fuel wheels.

[00:10:07]So these Ravs, I guess these Ravs have been selling like hotcakes, you guys. These Ravs, they can't they're all like reserved. They look good.

[00:10:19]So yeah, Miranda is going to try to help me get a TRD Pro. So, and I'm thinking Wave Maker because, you know, I want to I want to stand out. I want to I want to be flashy, right? If I'm going to get a pro, I want the most flashiest thing, you know? I mean, we doing it for the channel and we doing it for me. But anyway, she's going to try to help me get something. But what I'm going to do is I was I was talking to her saying, "You know what? I really need to put a car seat in the back of that wave maker to see if my daughter is going to be able to fit because my wife was like, "No." So, they got two Trail Hunters.

[00:10:58]Here's a silver. Here's a silver one in celestial silver. A 6ft bed. So, they have two. They also have a white one. I really do like this one. Get a price for you guys. That's snorkel. Snorkel alert 67.

[00:11:13]Snorkel alert or alert. But yeah, this is a good looking one. I like this one right here, the Trail Hunter. So, they got two. This one's still here. They got two 1958s.

[00:11:25]I really like the 1958 in black. This one won't be here very long, guys. This is a nice truck. I know we talked a lot of crap about these when they first came out, but $60,000. They were doing the $7,000 off when they first came out because they weren't selling. Because 60,000 and you got manual seats and cloth seats. But my favorite thing about this truck is the round headlights. I prefer these over the square ones. And you got round headlights on the first year of these trucks when they came out, which was 2024. You got the first edition.

[00:19:20]This is a white one and ice cap. 326 horsepower. You see the orange back there? That's how you know it's a hybrid. So, 326 horsepower, 465 lbft of torque. And they have come a mighty long way. It was just a twodoor. Now, we got a four-door.
