Panda Express customers recount being kicked out for wearing MAGA hats

That was a Panda Express in Tacoma, Washington, kicking two customers out because they had red Make America Great Again hats on. Panda Express is trying their level best to be the next Bud Light. We'll see if that happens. The company has yet to release a statement about this. They haven't said anything publicly. We've reached out. Chris Sims and Danny Rebel were the two customers who were told to walk out of that Panda Express in Washington because the cooks apparently didn't like their hats. Gentlemen, nice to have you on. Chris, walk us through what happened.

[00:01:10]>> Well, we were just going to Panda after we we got some food earlier and we're just getting something for later, you know. So, we went down to Panda, went in, ordered. Everything was fine for the most part. When I first walked in, the two chefs looked at me, looked at each other, laughed, and said something. And I didn't think anything of it. I was just on my phone because I do streaming and I go out and eat with while I'm streaming. And we get in line and the the African-American chef is just staring at me like I did something to him just watching me the whole time. And Danny's checking out. He's having a good time just, you know, paying saying thanks. And as we walk out, I looked at I just gave him a thumbs up because he wouldn't smile. Didn't have any facial expression. And then he kind of walked over and I was like, "Did I do something to you guys? Is everything okay?" And he's like, "You're it's what you're wearing, your hat." And I said, "You support my hat. You support it. You don't you know, I just kind of question it." And that's when the guy's like, "You need to go. You need >> Were you Were you recording when you walked in?"

[00:02:06]>> Yeah. I was I wasn't recording them. I was just on my phone talking to like a YouTube chat cuz I just kind of streamed.

[00:02:11]>> So, you weren't like walking in there looking for for trouble. Correct.

[00:02:14]>> No. No. We were actually talking about the food I was going to get. Chat's like saying, "Oh, get this. You should try this." this and I was looking at different types of chicken to try new items.

[00:02:22]>> All right, Danny, let me play you. This is where it got I think if you weren't recording this could have gotten violent. This is what happened when you actually walked out of that Panda Express.

[00:02:49]>> Yeah. No, I was in there and they were like staring at me and he wouldn't say anything. I just gave him a thumbs up and then he you guys need to leave. I was like, "All right, I'll leave." So, I walk outside, I'm still recording. And then she starts calling the police on me.

[00:03:00]>> Yeah. Danny, what uh what the cops do and do they ever tell you like why they were so offended by a Make America Great Again hat, which had been around now for more than 10 years.

[00:03:10]>> Man, the cops showed up. They were great, you know, but um they didn't tell us why the hat offended them. No. You going to go back to that Panda Express?

[00:03:30]Um, which is a huge number of people. Is this the kind of attention that Panda Express wants?

[00:03:37]>> I don't think so. I mean, I I most places I go to don't they don't say too much. I get looks for my hat, but I'm not going to, you know, suppress my political opinion just because people are offended by a hat. I mean, the lady that came to the door when she was talking to the police, I could hear her talking and she was saying, "I felt so disrespected." I'm like, "Is it the hat that made?" And she walked, she ended up walking away crying to the back and >> disrespected. The guy was just elected.

[00:04:03]78 million people voted for him across the country. Um, do you think, and this is just I'm just curious, Danny, do you think this could have been violent if you weren't recording?

[00:04:13]>> Yeah, I'm glad we did have the cameras there.

[00:04:16]>> I did feel intimidated cuz we left the store and that guy still came around the corner, followed us outside, both of them, to tell us we can't be on the sidewalk recording.

[00:04:24]>> Big guys, too. Panda Express, super woke company. They give money to the Black LGBT migrant project, the Los Angeles LGBTQ plus IIA center, the Transgender Law Center, the National Black Justice Coalition, and a ton of other woke organizations. Uh, Panda Express, hopefully they say something about this incident. By the way, did you get the food?
