This video discusses a real-life IVF case where a Caucasian couple in Florida had a baby via IVF, but the clinic accidentally implanted the wrong embryo, resulting in a child with whom neither parent shared any DNA. The couple and the biological Asian parents reached an agreement allowing the Caucasian couple to remain the baby's permanent custodial parents while maintaining a relationship with the biological parents. The clinic, which had mixed up all embryos and caused multiple families to be affected, is shutting down. This case raises important questions about whether genetic DNA matters in determining parentage or if it is simply about who raises and loves the child.

Caucasian couple keeps Asian baby after embryo mixup!
Added:guys who've been watching the show a while. This is an update to the story.
Do you guys remember we did the story? I feel like maybe this has been a couple months, but it's about this couple and they were in Florida, a couple of my cousins, and they had a baby via IVF, right? So, the woman carried it. She carried it and um you [clears throat] know, it turns out that the clinic had put the wrong embryo inside of the woman and and she carried a child and gave birth to a child that did that she neither her nor the husband shared any DNA with. Do you'all remember that we did that story?
>> Um, let me give the photo here real quick just so we got ourselves a little visual aid. Um, boop boop boop boop.
Here we go. [clears throat] All right.
So, that's the couple. Now, what are you laughing about?
The baby is like, "Come on now."
[laughter] >> Okay. So, there's been a a huge development here. Okay. So, they didn't go on some huge custody battle. They didn't do any of this stuff. They track down that child's biological parents because that kid came from an embryo that was in the same facility, right?
So, they took the time to track down that child's biological parents. And this couple, my Caucasian couple here, uh, and that's a South Asian baby, uh, from a, you know, genetic standpoint.
Um, the Caucasian couple and the Asian couple have come to an agreement that is going to allow this Caucasian couple to remain that baby girl's permanent custodial parents. Um, they're also planning to maintain a relationship with the biological parents moving forward.
But what's crazy is like that couple, the Caucasian couple there had three embryos. Okay? So, one embryo resulted in a miscarriage. Uh, one was the mixup that led to their now daughter and there's still one remaining embryo left, but they're not even sure if that one is actually theirs. Like, this clinic got their embryos all mixed up. And so, what's also wild is the clinic where all of this happened, they're shutting down.
They realize they've messed up so much they're shutting down. And this couple is suing over this mistake. Uh, and so this is like, you know, this is one of, maybe this isn't as tough as body face, but this is a tough question. When it comes to being a parent, does does DNA matter at all or is it just about who raises you and loves you?
>> Do they have there an embryo that was there that's somewhere else that is with some Southeast Asian family?
>> I don't that hasn't been revealed yet.
>> If that is a thing, I don't know.
>> That baby's cute. And I think cuter than what they would have gotten.
So they should just keep that baby. That baby's cute.
>> Put that last picture up again. The one right before this one.
>> Right here.
>> Even the baby don't believe this [laughter] He's like, "Yo, just my luck."
>> That baby's cute. That That's a cute baby. She carried the baby. It's our baby.
>> I'm about to go from breast milk to cashew milk. My life about to be lit.
[laughter] Like, yes. I was about to be in where? I don't know.
>> I mean, I do feel like, you know, the thing that's so difficult about it for me is like right off right off the bat, you go, "Oh, just as long as it's a loving family." Any child that comes into like a loving family, you want that bare minimum. But the other thing is to think about it like this is >> that other couple also went through IVF and also had these embryos set up. And so they, you know, they were planning on having a child. And so it's interesting that they came to an agreement where they're like, "Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. No, you can keep that one." No, I would never want that. They the original the real parent should get that baby. But I don't blame this family for want to keep it once they felt like they carried it.
But that that embryo does belong to somebody else. Oh, that's so sad.
>> It's an interesting one, ain't it?
>> What if that baby was given to like the embryo went to like a complete MAGA white supremacist KKK family? that [snorts and laughter] >> they probably would have like the night they left the hospital, they would have put the baby in the car seat, put the car seat on the top of the car, and drove off.
>> They'd be like, "What, baby?"
>> They'd be like, "J Vance's wife." Okay, moving on.
What? What? We must go deeper. What did JD Vance wife do?
>> She's Indian.
>> Oh. Oh, I thought she I thought they lost the baby that way.
>> No, no, no, no, no.
>> Wait, wait.
Where is that baby? Is she still pregnant?
>> JD Vance's wife.
>> Yes.
>> Because when there was rumors about him with Erica Kirk and they said Erica Kirk just turned up pregnant. All of a sudden it was reverse uno where J was like I'm pregnant too because it was talk rumors that he was going to leave his wife with Erica. Where is that? Is she still >> So I just looked it up. I just looked it up. Uh second lady uh Usha Vance, that's her name. Uh is currently pregnant.
She's still pregnant and they're expecting their fourth child, a boy. And it looks like she isn't due until late July. So maybe maybe this couple's embryo wound up over there. Who knows?
Who knows?
>> No, she threw the Hail Mary on that one cuz he was straight about to leave her for Erica. It looked like Yeah, she was about to drop it low on him real quick,
