But first, Link, I just want to run through this article which has dropped in the last couple of hours. So here's the headline from Celebrity Intelligence.

[00:02:04]And he says, "They're not broke, but the clock is ticking."

[00:02:10]In other words, the money is running out. A source in their orbit, remember this dude speaks to people very close to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, confirms they are wildly unhappy.

[00:02:24]So, he starts by looking at the core numbers. And I'm actually glad he's done this and that he's done this work. Because he says the reported $100 million Netflix deal was closer to $60 million once development costs, overheads, and delivery tranches are accounted for. Sources say the $20 million Spotify deal netted roughly $5 million after an early exit. And he says Spare, Harry's memoir, remains their most commercially successful project.

[00:02:57]He's also got his salary for BetterUp, Harry's salary for BetterUp, which he says is $1 million.

[00:03:04]That figure that we have been reporting for some time for his keynote speech is $50,000. That has plummeted. And he says Meghan has run ticketed fan events where attendees pay $3,000.

[00:03:16]He argues, though, neither is a sustainable business model. And that's because their outgoings are the real problem. And he reports revenue in the tens of millions sounds significant until you examine what's going out. The Montecito home was purchased for approximately $14 million and is believed to carry multiple mortgages. A source with knowledge of their inner workings says security costs around $3 million buckeroonies a year.

[00:03:48]And the source says they should have bought a $7 million house free and clear. People who buy a $14 million home usually buy it outright.

[00:04:02]And here's the key marmalade dropper, you know, that that moment where you're like, "Holy cow." The inheritance from Princess Diana, estimated at $10 million, and the Queen Mother, estimated at $10.5 million, has been substantially absorbed.

[00:04:18]The inheritance has largely been spent on the house and the legal trials, says the source. God.

[00:04:25]Diana and the Queen Mother will be rolling in their grave, honestly. So, they've had to cut back, and Dan Wootton had some other good numbers here, too.

[00:04:31]He says the staff has been reduced from 16 full-time employees to just five. He says they retain a chief of staff each, one foundation consultant, two execs, a UK press representative, and a US agency. Meghan has a sense of how careful they need to be, the source says, but Harry, raised in a world where everything was provided, reportedly lacks basic awareness of what things cost. And then he talks about the runway, so basically how long until they're bankrupt, how long until the money is gone forever. And he reports five years, roughly. That's the window, the source believes, before their lifestyle looks a bit different.

[00:05:13]Uh in terms of the work, it's all a mirage. The scripted polo drama, according to a Netflix source, is all smoke and mirrors. They say it's stuck in development, and it won't see the light of day.

[00:05:24]And he also reports their broader production model has structural problems. Their creative engine sources projects and attaches the couple's names as executive producers, but an industry source who has worked with them says their public image doesn't help sell a project anymore.

What does he actually want?

So, basically, what he's about to report, there's no doubt about the fact that Harry is deeply unhappy with where the marriage has ended up. He writes, "Harry does not want the life he has right now. He misses his family, his friends, his former existence in the UK. He would, sources say, be content to downsize, move somewhere like Montana, live modestly, pursue charitable work on his own terms. He doesn't care about the appearance of wealth. He cares about the appearance of doing good work."

[00:06:58]Then he reports what Meghan actually wants, and he says it's something else entirely because, surprise, surprise, and again, I've reported on this for a long time, she wants to be Lauren Sanchez, living her best life at couture shows. She wants to be a princess who's invited to Chanel, but she's not, says an insider.

[00:07:17]The departure from the royal family, UK sources say, was catalyzed by a specific realization that her finances would be managed by Prince William eventually.

[00:07:26]When she realized that William was going to be in charge of how much they were getting for the rest of their lives, she wanted out. However, sources close to Meghan says this is untrue. The couple's goals have quietly diverged. Harry wants privacy and reconciliation. Meghan wants scale, visibility, and reinvention. She would never allow the quieter life Harry craves. So then he asked the questions, how about the headlines that they have marriage issues? And I'm sorry, they do.

[00:07:49]They do. How on earth [clears throat] can you have just reported everything else, Dan Wootton, and then even question whether they have marriage issues? I mean, they do not want the same thing.

[00:08:00]And in fairness, he does say they don't have the same goals and they aren't happy with how things have gone, with the source describing them as wildly unhappy. However, they are still very much united front. And then they pull out this old line, we've heard it all before. Fundamentally, they're very different people, says the source, but no sources say they have marital issues.

You know, Dan Wootton, the slavishly loyal editor of both People magazine and Us Weekly, has gone independent and he's a bit like us now, Link. You know, he needs people to trust him. So all of a sudden, the truth bombs, they are coming. What do you make of it all?

Okay, I've been calling her Megan Kardashian Markle now because this [laughter] is like what the Kardashians would have done 20 years ago. Remember like 20 years ago the Kardashians would like promote cupcakes and promote food and promote any little product they were selling at the time.

As her clout dwindled, as people lost interest in what she and Harry had going on, she was going to move to the next generation. That was the final card she had to play, Archie and Lilibet. Now, what is she doing?

[00:10:41]She's using their name and likeness and royal titles to sell a candle, and they're not even old enough to consent to being used in that way. You know what I'm saying? So, it's like the Kardashians kind of moved on to Kendall and Kylie. They were the next generation. Now, North West is performing with her father, Kanye. So, I think Megan is just trying to use the next generation.

[00:11:00]>> there is such a fundamental difference though, right? Because we didn't have one of the Kardashians going out on stage every goddamn day saying that if you show your children's face on social media, you're a really bad human being.

[00:11:14]You're a terrible parent. Oh, and by the way, these companies should be shut down. Do Do Do Do you know what I mean?

[00:11:21]The Kardashians always owned what they were. They were there to sell their family. That was their business. But with Harry and Megan, it's these totally divergent paths, which in fairness to him, Dan Wootton is finally catching up on. And unfortunately, Link, this is a real weakness in terms of King Charles III. Okay, he's not well. He's really not well. I mean, we've seen him deliver this address to the nation.

[00:11:46]Mhm. Where you can see how much he's struggling, Link. You know, I've been very honest about it. This is a man dying of cancer. That doesn't mean he won't be around for a long time, but it probably means we're never going to get the full throttle reign of King Charles III that maybe he wanted. I mean, bless him. This was filmed at the library [snorts] in Balmoral. He was clearly very emotional, but look, sometimes a picture or a video, Link, just paints what's really going on. However, I cannot give him a pass, Link, on the fact that even after the Australian tour, he is still briefing. Absolutely no plan to strip the titles. Absolutely no plan to remove these grifters from the line of succession. I mean, look, we don't even know whether Meghan actually gave birth to these children. There's so many reasons for them to just go, go, go. And you're right, the candle should be the final straw. And the thing about the late Queen Elizabeth II, and I actually spoke to the British Prime Minister Liz Truss last week. She was the Sorry, the former British Prime Minister, but I don't know if you remember, Link, she was the last person to be photographed with the Queen. It was that famous photo just two days before the late Queen died, and she welcomed Liz Truss to Balmoral to hand on the prime ministership from Boris Johnson to her.

[00:13:05]And I just said, "Look, there's all of these rumors going around from Andrew Lownie and the like that the Queen was sort of doolally or senile."

[00:13:14]And Truss was absolutely clear to me. I mean, there's the moment It's a moment of history. She was absolutely clear to me, Link. She was totally switched on.

[00:13:22]She had all of her marbles. She could hold a conversation. It was only physically that she was being weakened.

[00:13:29]And so, the thing is, Link, the late Queen knew. She knew Harry and Meghan had to be treated toughly, and that's why she said, "Absolutely no half-in, half-out arrangement." And I think the fact that Did you hear today, Link, Meghan today on the Queen's actual 100th birthday is shipping her cheap, shitty products to unknown [clears throat] influencers in America? And I'm just like, "This is why the Queen was right, and Charles is wrong." To come back to my original point.

[00:14:02]Well, it's interesting. I hope when Prince William gets in there, he can really shrink the size of the monarchy.

[00:14:05]Like, let's have the essential bare-bones people, and that's the way to move forward. And I have such faith in Prince William and Catherine, the Princess of Wales, because they also really understand, I think, what needs to be done to modernize the monarchy and move further into the 21st century. So, I'm excited about them. I love the King, but I'm excited for the next generation.

[00:14:21]And I hope one of the things they do is that they actually start stripping people of their titles, right? You can't have a member of the royal family doing this when they left 6 years ago. This is what really confounds me, right? I'm just a very logical, common-sense person living over here talking into my microphone. You guys left the royal family at the beginning of 2020. Now, 6 years later, you're doing a fake, wannabe, knockoff royal tour. You're still using your titles to dine out.

[00:14:46]Now, you're using the kids' titles. The kids have barely been in the UK. I'm not I'm not even sure if Lilibet has been in the UK but one time. I don't even think they know about their relatives over there who are real royalty, but they have no problem using those royal titles when they need to make a quick buck. And I just keep coming back to it. It's just I haven't seen something this low-down and dirty in a long time. But selling a candle using your kids' names before they're even old enough to read and write is really sickening, really, really concerning.

[00:15:15]>> low. It's broke behavior. It's a new low. But but but a lot of people now, Link, are starting to say, "Well, we need some more action from the King."

[00:15:22]Like, according to Taz who posted, "I just can't with this anymore." Harry and Meghan are still on the royal family website and it makes it look like they work for the king. They have completely gone back on the Sandringham agreement, declared war against Prince William and Catherine, making money off their titles. And I couldn't agree more. While they remain on that royal family website, there is at the very least a suggestion that in some way they represent the royal family. And I do just want to show you, Link, who Meghan is sending these gift packs to today.

And then here's the other, even fewer followers, uh someone called Kristina Zia.

We always dance around it, but this is someone who just doesn't seem well. She seems to have sociopathic tendencies. You can see in her face, she doesn't seem happy, she can't keep her story straight, she kind of weaves together these lies. When I saw those boxes of candle she was sending to influencers, I just have to say I hope they have wicks, okay? If the candles have wicks, that's great. You know, she was kind of missing a key, key, key component. You know what I'm saying?

You're kind of looking for the point in the meeting. And so, for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, I mean, my advice to them would be go away for 5 years. Let people miss you. Let this next generation grow up, because they won't really remember all the shenanigans from the past, but I just think she keeps stooping lower and lower and lower. And then even sort of merching and selling outfits that she wore to go meet survivors at Bondi Beach and things like that. That was just really disgusting. And then even the retreat itself, you know, God bless these people who put on the retreat.

[00:19:08]They're probably excited to have Meghan Markle there. She was probably a big name. But when I saw pictures and videos from the Her Best Life Retreat, the room looked pretty empty, right? It didn't look like there were a lot of people there. In fact, I've been in elevators with more people. You know, I've shared Ubers with more people.

[00:19:23]So, when I saw the pictures and the videos, I'm like, "Oh, this is not where a {quote} {unquote} royal duchess should be." You know, she's like this Alibaba Temu knockoff member of the royal family. And then, even the pictures, right? When you see the pictures of Catherine and William, you know, at the Sydney Opera House years ago, you can see the crowds and all the people. Harry and Meghan, it was empty. The streets are empty. And then, we showed on my podcast, there's this local news station that interviewed people on the street, maybe about 20 people.

[00:19:52]Nobody knew they were coming, and the folks who did were so disinterested, they just wanted to go to work and pay their bills. No one really understood why they were there. There was no real reason for them to be there, except to do a photo op, right? Except to do a photo op and ingratiate themselves. And [snorts] Meghan seems to be living her best life, you know? You can look at this No, there are no crowds anywhere.

[00:20:13]And then, even this woman on the beach, she doesn't get up.

[00:20:17]She's one of those Aussies who was just like, "I'm not going to be part of this.

[00:20:22]Like, I'm on the beach. [laughter] Just go away." And I She's like, "Let me get my vitamin D. I'm drinking a pina colada. Leave me alone. What are these two hucksters doing out here?" And then, also, one thing we pointed out is like, when you do see these {quote} {unquote} crowds around them, a lot of it it's the paparazzi. It's the camera crews. It's the It's the security. So, it looks like there is a lot more interest in them than there actually is. The streets were quiet. Like, you could see like a barrel of hay, like a dust bunny roll down the road. No one was that interested in what they had going on. No, and what's interesting, like, is that usually for official royal tours in Australia, actually, as a Commonwealth country, it does get a lot of interest. There was so much weirdness though, like, I don't know if you saw this one, but I just wanted to show it to you because I didn't actually play it last week because there was so many other weird things that she did. This is not a unified brand anymore. It's a fractured partnership trying to hold itself together under pressure. Now, the financial claims are where things really intensify. According to Wakeford, the widely reported deals are not what they appear to be. The Netflix deal, not the headline $100 million closer to $60 million after costs. The Spotify deal, reportedly not $20 million closer to $5 million in actual earnings.
