Rich Handsome Student Makes Every Girl Fall for Him, Except the One He Truly Loves
Added:The series begins at the start of the new school year, with a big welcome party for the students. A newly transferred student named John arrives at the university, and all the students and girls are dazzled by his face, his good looks, and his hair color. A handsome, wealthy young man. They keep taking pictures with him, thrilled, envying his life, because they think he's happy and has no problems. But even though he's famous and has lots of followers on his page, the truth is he has no friends. He always feels lonely, no one gives him a like, no one subscribes to the channel, no one hits the notification bell. Can you imagine, dear viewer? I told you all we wanted to reach 50,000 likes on the first day, and honestly, you couldn't do it. So this time we said 20,000. Can you do it or not, dear viewer? Within 24 hours, if this video reaches 20,000 likes, I'll drop another series for you on the very same day.
So come on, let's continue our story. On the other side, we see a student at the same university named Hwang. He's smart and hard-working, but unfortunately, he's poor, and his financial situation is difficult. Because of that, he's had to work more than one job to support himself, to the point that he has no time to rest or even sleep. We move to another student named Sohee. She's always sitting in the library. All her classmates think she's smart and a nerd, but despite studying a lot, her exam grades are always bad. So she keeps trying to improve her level. Then the first day of school begins, and John enters his lecture hall to attend the lecture. By chance, he sits behind Hwang, who's asleep. The professor arrives and starts taking attendance.
John tries to wake Hwang because he's worried about him, but he accidentally spills coffee on Hwang's clothes.
Embarrassed, he apologizes and hands him a tissue to clean himself up. But Hwang doesn't care and just goes back to sleep. John is puzzled by his personality. After the lecture, John offers him money to make up for it, but Hwang refuses to take it and just walks away. John is stunned by his behavior, because it's the first time he's met someone who doesn't care about money, and he hears a student saying Hwang is like like robot. Afterward, Sohee goes to her dorm and starts arranging her things and organizing her room, praying that her roommate will be a nice girl so they can get along. Suddenly, a cute girl named Shay walks in. Sohee is dazzled by her beauty. She notices Shay has a bag and decides to go help her.
Shay is delighted and tells her, "Come here, you're a catch." and takes her along to carry her things. But Sohee is shocked to find that Shay has many bags, not just one. She regrets ever thinking about helping and she keeps carrying the bags until her back nearly breaks. That night, we see John staying up with his friends and we learn they've befriended him just to exploit him and make him pay the bill because he's from a wealthy family. John knows their intentions, but even so, it doesn't matter to him. He leaves them and goes into a supermarket to buy juice, but he sees Huang there and learns he works part-time. He goes to talk to him and offers to have him hang out with him saying he'll pay the bill. But Huang refuses and tells him, "Not everything can be bought with your money." John is upset by his words because he wanted to get to know him and wanted him to be his friend. He apologizes for what happened that morning at the university, then leaves.
Meanwhile, Sohee is staying up late working on a project for the university to try to improve her grades. But Shay yells at her saying she can't sleep unless it's dark and apologizes. Sohee is forced to close the laptop and turn off the light. The next day at the university, she goes to the secretary's office, but the moment she opens the door, she bumps into John coming out. Of course, she's embarrassed when she sees him cuz he's the most famous student at the university. She apologizes and leaves him going in to the secretary.
But the secretary tells her that John took her project and asks her to go on a trip with the new students to introduce them to the university. Sohee is forced to agree. She goes and tells her friend Shan, but he mocks her saying she'll be a cleaner and will be cleaning the place. Then Sohee goes on the trip, but she learns that Huang is also a volunteer with her and she decides to get close to him because he's smart and always comes in first. Then the new students start introducing themselves and John notices Sohee is focused on him while he's talking and he assumes she's attracted to him. That night he sees her standing alone and seizes the opportunity to go talk to her. He asks her about the way she was looking at him, but she gets flustered by his words. She tries to change the subject and tells him his friend is calling him, then leaves and runs away from him. John laughs at her behavior. He decides to get close to Huang so he can find another friend. He tries to talk to him, but Huang treats him coldly and tells him, "I don't have time for a friend or to go out with anyone." Then leaves and walks off. When everyone's asleep, Huang goes to clean the place. He keeps picking up the empty bottles off the floor and So He sees him and decides to help him, too. She tries to strike up a conversation telling him she sent him a message asking for his help and he didn't reply. But Huang apologizes telling her he didn't notice. Of course, So He is embarrassed and leaves him to go to sleep, but she sees a student fighting with John because this student's girlfriend is attracted to John. The student keeps hitting John, so he tries to defend him, but the student is about to hit her, too. Luckily, Huang sees what's happening and arrives at the right moment to stop him. He's a handsome young man, but it turns out he's a wild fighter. He knocks the student to the ground and warns him that if he causes trouble again, he'll make him regret it. So He is delighted with what he did and takes John to bring him to her room to treat his wounds. John thanks her for defending him and asks what he can do to return the favor, but she seizes the opportunity and asks him to give up his project to her. John is upset thinking she only helped him for that, but he agrees on one condition that they be friends. So He is puzzled by his request, but she agrees. Sure, no problem. Let's be friends. The next day John goes to her and asks her to play with him to jump off the mountain, but she refuses because she's afraid of high places. John tries to encourage her and ask her to trust him. So He is forced to agree and she's tense and afraid. She keeps hugging him terrified, but John reassures her that he'll protect her.
He takes her and they jump into the water and we notice Huang watching them from a distance feeling jealous. The next day they return to the university.
And so he goes to talk to John asking him not to forget to give up the project. He promises he'll do it, then leaves and walks off. But he runs into his older brother by chance and learns that he's become a professor at the university. He's happy and congratulates him, but his brother treats him coldly and pretends not to know him because he's ashamed of him. John is upset by this, but promises he won't tell anyone.
Huang is standing there and hears them.
He feels sorry for John, but doesn't want to intervene. Afterward, John goes to his job at the supermarket and suddenly his friend Ran comes in and tells him she misses him because he's always busy. She asks him to rest a bit and go out with his friends. But Huang refuses and tells her he has to work because he's the one supporting himself.
The next day Huang wakes up early to go to the university. He's so exhausted that he falls asleep in the transport and he keeps running until he reaches the university, but he's shocked to find the lecture was canceled. He feels discouraged and regrets coming.
John sees him and goes to talk to him thanking him for helping and defending him on the trip. But Huang responds harshly telling him, "I only did that because I was the trip supervisor, not because I consider you a friend." So he sees them standing together and gets scared thinking they're going to fight.
She goes to stop them, but Huang leaves and walks off. So he is furious because John didn't keep his promise to her and she thinks he's deceiving her. But John takes her and goes to the secretary and gives up the project to her. There they learn they're in the same group. John is happy because he'll get to see her a lot. He goes to walk her home and strolls with her under the rain holding the umbrella for her the whole way. They have a nice time and are happy getting closer to each other. So he thanks him and goes into the dorm. The next day when she wakes up, she's shocked to find Ran sleeping on the floor and she learns Ran will also be her roommate. She notices Ran's behavior is strange. Ran asks Shay to give her a foot massage and of course she is scared of her, so she's forced to do as she says. Afterward, Huang goes back to his dorm and finds his little brother there. But he learns his brother plans to enroll in the police academy. He's upset because his brother won't continue his studies. He remembers his father who was a police officer and died leaving them alone.
Since then, he's relied on himself. That night, we see Shay upset and crying because her boyfriend broke up with her.
She remembers his words when he told her she looks pretty, but her personality is worthless. She goes back to the dorm depressed. So we and Ran try to talk to her and invite her to come eat with them to lift her spirits, but she refuses and goes to sleep. At that time, John's friends go to his house to spend the night and they keep trashing the place.
John is upset because they're only friends with him for his money and he decides to distance himself from them.
The next day at the university, he leaves them and goes to sit next to Huang. He brings him coffee and tries to talk to him, but Huang gets up from beside him and sits alone so he can sleep. The professor comes in and asks them to divide into groups for the project they'll be doing. Huang is shocked to find John and his friends in his group. After the lecture, he asks So Hee to join them. She's hesitant, but John keeps nagging her until she agrees.
They all sit together and decide to make her the group leader. Afterward, John gets a call from his mother who asks him to come home because there's a gathering and we learn she doesn't care about him.
She always favors his brother. That night, Shay is still affected by her breakup. She goes to the supermarket but drops her juice and keeps crying. Huang sees her and feels sorry for her. He goes to help her and cleans the floor and Shay is moved by what he did and becomes attracted to him. She buys juice, thanks him, and offers him a juice as a gift, then leaves and runs off. Huang tries to go after her because he doesn't like gifts, but he can't catch up to her. The next day, there's a group meeting, but no one comes except John. Then Huang comes too. So Hee tries to talk to the rest, but they don't respond and Huang wants to kick them out of the group, but John refuses saying they surely had circumstances that prevented them from attending. So Hee decides to divide the work among the three of them. She takes the biggest part since she's the the leader, but Huang refuses and decides to withdraw, leaving them and walking off. When they go after him, they run into John's friends who are drunk and out of their minds. Hwang asks them to take responsibility and tells them they're going to leave the group, but they refuse and fight with him.
John tries to stop them and they shove him to the ground and attack Hwang. John keeps remembering his childhood memories of when his father used to beat him and he breaks down and starts crying, yelling at them to stop fighting.
Everyone is puzzled by his behavior. No one understands what's wrong with him.
Afterward, Sohee treats Hwang's wounds and puts a bandage on him. She asks him not to leave the group because they need him. He's happy with her words and decides not to abandon them and agrees.
He says goodbye to her to go to his job.
Afterward, as John is leaving, he finds his brother waiting for him. His brother takes him and they go home. There, we learn they're from an extremely wealthy family. When the gathering time comes, John is forced to wear a wig because his father and mother bully him about his hair color. He keeps talking to his relatives, but without meaning to, he tells them he's enrolled in an ordinary university, not a famous one. His father gets furious with him. After the gathering, his father beats him and says he's ashamed of him and blames his mother for inviting him. "You made us look bad in front of the family. My son enrolled in an ordinary university, not a university for wealthy people." He tells him not to come here again. And unfortunately, instead of comforting him, his mother tells him she regrets giving birth to a failure like him, mocks him and his hair, and kicks him out of the house. Yes, dear viewer, see the suffering John is upset and leaves the house, but he finds his brother waiting, wanting to give him a ride in his car. He's happy and gets in with him. But on the way, his brother asks him not to come back home again because no one loves him and his family doesn't want him. "As you can see, they're all ashamed of you." John is upset and says, "I wish I hadn't gotten in the car." He can't take any more than this and asks his brother to let him out. He keeps walking and thinking about his father and mother's words. He calls his friends who exploit him and tells them he's inviting them out and he'll pay the bill. Of course they agree and go party with him. John keeps drinking to forget, but he hears his friends envying his life, rich, famous, and loved by everyone. He's upset that they think his life is easy, not knowing he's been suffering since childhood. He leaves them and goes out. He calls Hwang and asks to meet him. The moment Hwang hears the phrase, he gets scared for John and worries he might do something to himself impulsively, without thinking. He calls So-hee and asks her to go to him at his job. She's forced to agree because she's the group leader. When she arrives, she finds John standing in front of the sea and she thinks he wants to end his life.
She talks to him and tries to comfort him and ease his pain. John thanks her, but suddenly asks her to be in a relationship with him. So-hee is puzzled by his words and tells him she's attracted to someone else. Afterward, Hwang arrives to check on John and notices he's dizzy and out of it. He's forced to carry him on his back all the way home. He goes into his room, then goes to wash his hands, and is shocked to find the bathroom is huge and spacious. He envies him for living in a place like this. Then he leaves the house and asks So-hee not to tell John that he was the one who brought him home because then John would feel obligated to thank him and I don't want him to thank me, I swear. The next day John wakes up having forgotten what happened.
He calls So-hee and asks her who brought him home yesterday, but she refuses to tell him. John keeps thinking about it and notices that Hwang was the last one to call him. He immediately realizes Hwang was the one who brought him home and confirms Hwang is a good person, which changes his opinion of him.
Afterward, he goes to meet So-hee and asks her who the person she's attracted to is. She's embarrassed and tells him it's her friend Chan. John decides to help her confess to him. He takes her and they go watch the sunset and he keeps giving her advice on how to catch Chan's attention. So-hee is happy and thanks him. She goes to Chan's dorm and finds the place a mess. She decides to clean and organize it to surprise Chan and make him happy. John sees her from the balcony because he's a neighbor and he's happy she took a step. He decides to help her. The next day he takes her to a store and helps her buy new clothes. He changes her clothing style transforming her from a nerdy girl into a fashion model. He himself is impressed by her beauty but doesn't want to show it. He wants to pay for the clothes but she refuses and insists she'll pay.
Then she treats him to ice cream to thank him and they keep walking together and have a nice time happy. At the end of the day she says goodbye to him and gets on the bus to go home. The next day the group gathers at the university and starts talking about the project. John comes in with Sohee and they're laughing. The students are puzzled to see them together and of course rumors spread that they're secretly dating. She gets flustered and tells them, "We're just friends everyone."
When they finish Huang decides to leave to get to his job. John wants to invite him to thank him for bringing him home but Huang refuses because he's not free.
That night Sohee buys food and goes to Chan's to eat together as they agreed.
But he forgets the appointment and is late. Suddenly the doorbell rings. She's happy thinking it's him and goes to open it.
And here's the surprise, it's his girlfriend. She learns Chan is in a relationship with her and her heart breaks. She leaves the apartment and walks away upset remembering her memories with him from when they were young. Back then she was crying but Chan stayed with her and gave her a bracelet to cheer her up. From that moment she fell in love and decided to keep wearing it on her wrist her whole life until she could confess her love to him. John sees her standing outside alone upset. He feels sorry for her state and takes her with him to comfort her and ease her pain. He suggests they pretend to be in a relationship to make Chan jealous and make Chan become jealous over her, become attracted to her and leave the other girl. Sohee likes the idea and of course agrees. John decides to take the bracelet off her wrist so she'll stop thinking about Chan and takes her to the balcony. He keeps pampering her to care for her in front of Chan. Then he goes down with her to walk her home and on the way Chan calls her. But John takes the phone from her and says Chan doesn't deserve her feelings. He warns her not to talk to him or meet him until he realizes her worth. So, he is convinced by his words. They keep joking the whole way and get closer. The next day, Huang's brother goes to the university and by chance he sees Shay and is attracted to her at first sight, not knowing she loves his brother. He keeps looking at her, but he trips and falls to the ground. He's embarrassed and pretends he's exercising to look good in front of her. Then Huang arrives, takes him and leaves. But John runs into them and welcomes them, remembering he's his friend's brother and invites him to eat with them. Of course, John is happy and agrees. When they sit together, John sees how Huang's brother treats him and notices how he cares about him and loves him. John remembers how his own brother and family treat him, ashamed of him.
John is upset about his situation and tells Huang he wishes he had a brother like his because he's kind and affectionate. Afterward, they sit with the group for the project. John's friends didn't do the research required of them, so Huang yells at them for not being up to the responsibility, but they get angry and decide to withdraw from the group. They ask John to come with them, but he refuses and decides to stay with Huang and promises to get the information he needs. He calls his father's secretary to help him.
Afterward, Huang goes to the supermarket where he works and suddenly John's bully friends come in. They keep bothering him, bullying and mocking him, and knocking bottles to the ground. Because they're customers, he can't fight them, but his friend Ran arrives at the right moment and decides to teach them a lesson. And as we know, it's action time, dear viewer. It turns out she's a wild fighter. Come on, say it with me.
She'll take one down with a bam and one with a boom.
>> [clears throat] >> She hits them and breaks their faces because she's a professional at martial arts. Her clubmates arrive and the bullies get scared of them. Without thinking, they apologize to her and flee. Huang is happy and thanks his friend. When he goes home, he finds his brother with an envelope full of money.
He's puzzled and asks him where he got it and learns he stole John's watch. And dear viewer, unfortunately, his brother turned out to be a thief. Huang gets furious and yells at him. He takes the envelope from him, goes to John, returns the money, and tells him he'll work and pay off the rest. But John laughs because he doesn't need the money and agrees on one condition that they be friends. Huang is forced to agree afterward. So, he is heading home and finds Chan waiting for her. When he talks to her, he learns she's not in a relationship with John and that she was lying to him. He warns her about John saying, "He's trying to come between us because he knew my girlfriend would come to me that day and he made you see her."
So, he is shocked and decides to verify it herself. She calls John and asks to meet him. He thinks she wants to go out with him and is happy and goes to her.
But she confronts him with what she learned and asks whether he meant to come between her and Chan. John apologizes saying he did it to show her Chan's true nature and that he's actually in a relationship with another girl. But So He is upset because her heart is broken. She tells him, "We can't be friends. From now on, we're just classmates." She leaves him and walks off. John stands there alone, stunned. Even the only girl who was his friend has left him. He remembers his memories with her and keeps crying because he loved her and wanted to be in a relationship with her. He goes out to party and keeps drinking to forget her, but he can't. He calls Huang and tells him what happened and asks him what to do. Huang advises him to confess his feelings to her and she'll forgive him.
John is convinced by his words and decides to do it. He runs until he reaches her dorm and keeps calling out to her until she comes out of the window. She's shocked to see him and comes down to talk to him. She asks him, "What do you want from me? Be quick."
John apologizes for hurting her and confesses that he's attracted to her. He asks her not to answer him now, but to give him a chance to prove his feelings.
At that time, Huang feels sick, passes out, and is taken to the hospital. By chance, John calls him to thank him, but the nurse is the one who answers and tells him what happened to his friend.
Our hero is shocked. He takes a taxi to go to him and there he learns Huang has malnutrition. He feels sorry for him and stays up beside him caring for him until Huang wakes up the next day. Huang is shocked when he sees him and wants to leave. John is puzzled by his behavior and asks him why he always tries to distance himself from him. Huang tells him because every time I see you, I envy your life. I'm always suffering, working more than one job just to support myself, and everything you need is available to you easily. John laughs because everyone is deceived about him.
They think he's happy, but the truth is he's suffering and miserable. They learn he also has problems like Huang's, and Huang feels sorry for him and asks him to stay away. But John refuses and tells him, "No matter how much you try to push me away, I'll stay by your side."
Afterward, So-hee is studying, but she keeps thinking about John when he confessed he's attracted to her. She's confused and feels her emotions are jumbled. She tries to focus, but she keeps writing his name without realizing it. She gets frustrated and refuses to continue. She goes to sit with her dorm mates. They keep drinking and joking, and each one starts talking about her problems, and they have a nice time, happy. Afterward, John goes online to look for food for people with malnutrition. And the next day, he buys it and goes to visit Huang. But he's shocked to find Huang left the hospital.
He tries to call him, but he doesn't answer. We learn he went to work, and he keeps pleading with the manager to take him back. But the manager refuses because he's worried about him overexerting himself and asks him to rest, saying, "Rest, son, and when you're well, come work during the break.
I have no problem with that." Huang feels discouraged but doesn't give up.
He tries to find another job, but no one will hire him because he's still a student. The next day, So-hee goes to the university and decides to confess her feelings to John. But she finds lots of girls wanting to take pictures with him, and she gets upset and leaves. John keeps looking for her until he finds her. He asks her if she agrees to be in a relationship with him. She confesses to him that she really is attracted to him, but she needs to know him better because she still doesn't understand his personality well. She agrees with him that they'll stay friends until she's sure. John is happy and agrees, then leaves her and goes to the lecture. He sends a message to Huang asking him to rest until he's well. But he's shocked to find Huang is in the same lecture.
When they come out, Huang gives him an envelope with money and tells him he's paid off his debt. John is shocked that he managed to gather the amount so quickly, to the point that he thinks Huang sold his kidney. Huang tells him he doesn't owe him anything now and can stay away from him. But John refuses and tells him, "You think this is a one-way street? We'll stay friends no matter what." Afterward, So Hui walks through the university and is shocked to find she's become famous. She hears the students talking about her because they think she's in a relationship with John, and of course she's upset by the rumors that came out about her. She goes to meet John and asks him if he was the one who told the students that. He's upset that she suspects him. He apologizes if he caused her trouble and promises to handle it, then leaves and walks off. At the end of the day, So Hui is heading home, but she hears students bullying her about her looks, saying John is prettier than her. She remembers her childhood memories of when children used to bully her because her father abandoned her and decided to leave the house and run away. She breaks down and can't breathe. Luckily, John calls her to check on her, but he hears her crying and immediately knows she's in trouble and can't talk. He keeps searching for her everywhere until he finds her sitting on the ground trying to catch her breath. He holds her hands and tries to reassure her, but instead of thanking him, she pushes him away crying and asks him to leave her alone because his presence hurts her. He unfortunately causes her problems she can't handle.
John's heart breaks. He leaves her and walks off upset remembering his mother's words when she told him no one would love him, that he'd have no lover, no friend, no relative. He realizes she was right. He decides to go back to his bully friends even though he knows they exploit him. He goes to party with them at the club. And there he sees Ran and learns she's Huang's friend. He talks to her and asks what she did to make Huang befriend her. She says he's a stubborn person who doesn't accept help from anyone. So she kept sticking to him against his will. John takes her advice and decides to do the same. When he leaves the club, he's shocked to find Huang calling him and would you believe it, inviting him to dinner, too. Our hero is happy and decides to go to him.
But when he arrives, he finds Huang working as a waiter at the restaurant, serving him the food himself. Yes, dear viewer, Huang brought him there to show him the difference between them. John is upset because he thought they'd have dinner together. He sees the restaurant manager scolding Huang for leaving the customers alone. He feels sorry for his situation and realizes Huang suffers more than him in his life. He refuses to eat, leaves the restaurant, and goes out to wait for him. When Huang finishes his shift, he goes to talk to him. But Huang sits away from him because he smells bad from working at the restaurant. He tells him, "I invited you so you'd realize our circumstances are different. We can't be friends." John hears his words and is upset. He apologizes if he caused him trouble and promises to stay away so he won't bother him again, then leaves him crying and walks off. The next day, John leaves the project group and goes back to his bully friends. This time he really goes out with them like the old days, but he's not happy or content to the point that they keep talking to him while he's lost in thought, not responding, not even considering them present, knowing they exploit him for his money. The next day, his bully friends go to the restaurant where Huang works and fight with him, breaking lots of plates. Because of that, the restaurant manager scolds Huang and decides to fire him and make him pay for the broken things, too. Huang begs him to give him another chance because he needs the job. But the manager refuses, saying it's his last day at the place.
Huang can't take it anymore. He breaks down and keeps crying over his situation. By chance, John sees him and feels sorry for him, but Huang goes over to him and asks him not to tell anyone he saw him weak and cries. John gets upset and asks him not to overburden himself. "It's not shameful to ask your friends for help because you can't do everything on your own." Huang leaves him and walks off annoyed with him. The next day, Soe learns John wasn't at fault for the rumors that came out. She feels guilty for wronging him and decides to apologize. She goes to meet him and asks him to come back to the project group and gives him a plant as a gift, then leaves embarrassed because she broke his heart. When John looks up the type of plant she gave him, he's is to find its name is apology and he laughs at what she did and decides to forgive her. Afterward, So Hee is heading home from the university, but the bully students see her and keep bothering her until she cries. Luckily, John arrives at the right moment and defends her. Warning them that if any of them comes near her again, he'll make them regret it. He takes her and walks off. So Hee thanks him for defending her, but they learn Hwang was the one who told her to bring John back to the group. She takes John and goes to reconcile them, leaving them alone to talk. Hwang apologizes for all the harsh words he said and they learn he agrees to be his friend. John is happy because it's the first time he's had a real friend who doesn't exploit him, a friend who wants nothing from him, not money.
He decides to thank So Hee for being the reason. The next day John meets So Hee, takes her and goes to her old school so she can confront her past and forget the bullying she was subjected to.
But when she arrives, everything comes to her mind, her painful memories, and she starts crying. John calms her and stays beside her until her spirits improve. Then he takes her and they walk together. She's about to trip, but he catches her and even ties her shoe so she won't trip again. How romantic. So Hee is happy with his care and starts to feel she's attracted to him. They keep running together and have a nice time, happy. The next day the project deadline comes and the bullies try to rejoin the group, but So Hee refuses because they didn't put in any effort. When they go into the lecture, the group starts discussing the project in front of the professor. He's impressed by their performance and thinking and decides to give them the full grade. But one of the bullies tells him he was with them on the project and they stole his effort and asks him to cancel their project.
Since he won't benefit, he wants to hurt them. So Hee gets furious because she's the group leader and goes to argue with him. And even though she's afraid of crowds, she remembers John's words to her, "Trust yourself." Gets encouraged and starts questioning the bully about things in the project. Of course, he can't answer a single question, proving they're lying. The professor is convinced by her words and gives them full marks. The group is happy about the project's success. They celebrate and get closer and closer. That night Ran goes to meet Huang and blames him for not answering her. Shay sees them standing together and thinks there's something between them. She's upset because she's attracted to Huang. That night John goes out with So-hee to celebrate the project success. They keep drinking together, have fun and spend a nice time. So-hee gets dizzy and starts hallucinating and confesses to him that she loves him. John is finally happy. He tries to get close to her but she's embarrassed and pulls away. When they finish she falls asleep from exhaustion and John is forced to carry her on his back and take her to her dorm. Afterward Huang calls him and asks to meet him.
When John goes to him Huang shows him a video of the restaurant manager firing him from work and asks if John was the one who filmed it. John confesses he was the one who did it to get Huang's rights back. Huang thinks he'll be angry with him but he thanks him and says he now considers John his closest friend. John is happy with his words and promises to always help him. The next day So-hee wakes up and remembers what happened yesterday with John and she's embarrassed. She doesn't know what to say to him. When she goes to the university she tries to avoid him but she finds her friend Chan waiting for her. He apologizes for breaking her heart and asks her to be friends again.
At that time John is looking for her. He sees them standing together and feels jealous. He goes and pulls her by the hand, takes her and walks off to talk about what happened yesterday. So-hee tries to pretend she doesn't remember but she decides to be brave and confesses she's attracted to him. John is happy and hugs her and they decide to be in a relationship. They walk holding hands in front of all the students and go strolling in front of people but they find a festival and stop to watch the performances. John decides to participate in it. He starts singing in a beautiful voice and everyone is dazzled by his good looks and voice and keeps cheering him on but he keeps looking at So-hee focused on her waiting for her opinion of him. Afterward Ran goes to Huang and pulls him by the hand taking him to the dorm against his will.
There she's prepared a surprise for him for his birthday. John and So-hee arrive and they keep singing and celebrating and have a nice time together, happy like one big family gathered. Ran notices Hwang is shy because it's the first time he's attended a birthday. And she pushes him into the cake, and they take pictures with him laughing. Then they decide to play a game. This time it's a game of truth, and each one has to say what's in their heart. They start asking each other. When it's Hwang's turn, they ask him if he has friends. He tells them he only had Ran, but now he considers John his close friend and brother. Then it's So-hee's turn, and they ask her if she's attracted to John.
She's embarrassed but confesses to them that they're in a relationship. When the birthday ends, So-hee decides to participate in the festival, and John goes to help her.
But his bully friends feel jealous of him and decide to exploit him again.
They put up an ad for girls to take pictures with him for money, and of course they all agree because he's handsome. Girls start gathering around him, but John refuses and leaves them and walks off. The bullies get furious.
They learn he did that because he's in a relationship with So-hee, and they decide to come between them. They take her to the girls to bother her and keep bullying her, calling her ugly.
But John finds out and decides to catch up with her. He arrives at the right moment and yells at them to get them away from her. He fights the bullies, but unfortunately they show their true nature and beat him, knocking him to the ground and breaking him down. John remembers his memories of when his brother used to beat him, too, back when he was young. He gets encouraged and stands up again and decides to endure both the old beatings and the new ones, and decides to fight back this time.
Hwang learns what happened and runs to catch up with him. He runs into the bullies on his way, and without thinking he beats them breaking their faces.
Let's go to John who confesses to So-hee that this is who he really is, that he's weak and can't defend himself. But she hugs him and tells him she loves him and walks him home. She disinfects the wound on his face and stays with him to reassure him until he falls asleep. She keeps looking at him with eyes full of love. Afterward, Hwang calls him to check on him, and it's clear from his voice that he's genuinely worried. John is happy with his care and thanks him.
The next day, So-hee goes to him early to visit and brings him medicine. John hugs her and reassures her that he's fine, thanking her for caring about him.
Suddenly, he gets a call from his brother and Sohee notices he doesn't want to answer it. She asks him why and John decides to tell her everything. She learns his brother treats him badly and always used to beat him when he was young, which is why he had to leave the house and live alone. Sohee is moved by his words and feels sorry for his situation. She learns he suffered a lot in his life and she promises him she'll stay by his side and never leave him.
Afterward, Ran meets Huang and is puzzled that he fought the bullies to defend John. She asks him why. Huang tells her, "He reminds me of my little brother and I feel responsible for him, so I couldn't hold myself back."
Ran is happy with his words and leaves him to go buy coffee. Shay seizes the opportunity to try to talk to Huang and snatch him away from Ran and asks him for his number, but he apologizes to her saying he has no time for a relationship and dodges her. Shay is embarrassed and leaves him upset. Afterward, one of the bullies goes to meet John and asks him to let him live in his apartment because he's been kicked out of his dorm, but John refuses and we learn he won't let anyone exploit him again. He leaves him and goes to Huang, thanking him for everything he's done for him. "Because thanks to you, I've learned many things.
I learned the value of money and the value of being pampered my whole life. I always wished I had an older brother to defend me and now my wish has come true." Of course, Huang is happy with his words, but suddenly he gets a call from his little brother crying. They learn their mother is sick and needs an operation, otherwise she won't be able to walk again. Unfortunately, Huang is shocked but reassures him that he'll handle it. He decides to withdraw his file to leave the university so he can work freely. He goes to the dorm to gather his things, but his brother comes in and sees the place he lives in. He feels sorry for him because he sacrifices his own happiness for them.
He too decides to leave the police academy to work and earn money because he doesn't want Huang to suffer alone.
He leaves and goes out crying. By chance, John sees him and asks what's wrong. He learns everything from him and what happened and decides to help him and pay for their mother's operation because he's from a wealthy family. When Huang finds out, he gets angry because he doesn't like anyone pitying him and decides to return the money. But his professor sees him and asks to talk to him telling him, "When I was a student, I had problems like yours and I thought about leaving the university, but I managed to solve them thanks to my friends helping me." He asks him not to refuse John's help because he has a long future ahead of him and he can return the favor at any time. Huang is convinced by his words. He calls John and goes to meet him thanking him for everything he did promising that if he ever needs him at any time, he'll find him by his side. They keep strolling together at the university each telling the other about his life because they've become close friends now. That night, Huang goes to the dorm to gather his things because he didn't pay the rent, but he has nowhere to stay and is forced to sleep on the street. He dreams of his dead father coming to hug him while he cries telling him, "My son, I'm your father. I did everything I could to look after you and your mother. You surely don't want to abandon your little brother, too, but I am tired now." At that time, John learns what happened to him and that Huang is sleeping on the street. He keeps searching for him everywhere until he finds him and asks him to come stay with him at the dorm.
Huang refuses, but John keeps nagging him until he agrees. He takes him home and cooks for him himself making him the food he loves. Then Huang falls asleep on the couch from exhaustion and John feels sorry for him and covers him up.
He's happy that they've become roommates now, too. The next day, Huang wakes up and finds John has made him breakfast.
He sits and eats with him, but is shocked to find that the cost of the food equals the salary he works for. He says to himself, "Have I not even been living or what?" When they finish, John takes him to his closet to wear some of his clothes. Afterwards, So-we is heading to the lecture and finds one of the bullies waiting for her. He apologizes for everything he did and asks her to come with him so the bully friends can apologize to her. And unfortunately, the poor thing believes him and goes with him of her own accord.
But he locks her in a room and films a video trying to force himself on her against her will to take revenge on John. So-wee tries to escape him, but he stops her. Thankfully, nothing worse happens. Luckily, John arrives at the right moment and fights him getting him away from her. He goes to check on her, but the bully comes from behind and knocks him to the ground trying to strangle him. John feels this is his end, but Ran arrives and this time not alone. She brought security. They arrest the bully. So-wee is happy the ordeal is over, but she feels guilty because John was hurt because of her. She apologizes to him and starts disinfecting his wound, but John tells her it's not her fault and it's he who's sorry because he didn't arrive earlier. He promises her he'll protect her from anyone who tries to hurt her. Afterward, as he's heading home, he finds his brother waiting for him. His brother has learned what happened to him and asks him why he didn't defend himself and fought the bullies.
John tells him he can't forget being beaten by him when he was young and that he's now used to it. Enduring the beating is better for him than raising his hand against anyone. He leaves him and walks off.
His brother is moved by his words and feels regret.
It's clear he's hiding something. That night, John is sleeping and dreams his brother is beating him. He wakes up terrified and keeps crying. When Huang comes back from work and sees him afraid, he feels sorry for him and goes to comfort him and stays beside him to reassure him. The next day, So-wee wears a pretty dress and goes to meet John at the place they agreed on, but unfortunately, he's late. When she calls him, he apologizes and says he can't meet her. So-wee is puzzled and decides to go check on him, but she's shocked to find he's locked himself in his room not wanting to talk to anyone. She refuses to pressure him and decides to leave him alone.
Chan sees her coming down from John's and tries to talk to her asking her to be friends again, but she refuses, leaves him and walks off. Afterward, John returns to normal. He thanks Huang for standing by him and learns from him that So-wee came to him yesterday. He decides to go meet her and apologize for not being able to talk to her yesterday because he didn't want her to see him in that state. He promises to make up for the outing that was ruined. So, he hugs him and tells him she's not upset with him. On the contrary, I love you and if you ever need me, you'll find me by your side. Afterward, their professor organizes a camping trip at the university, but unfortunately no one signs up and everyone mocks him. When John finds out, he decides to go with his classmates so they can have fun freely. The professor is happy when he sees them. They keep playing together and have a nice time happy. At night, they gather, light a fire, and play a confessions game. Each one starts talking about their life and the painful memories they went through. John remembers a memory from when he was young where his brother was crying and asking for his forgiveness. He's puzzled because his brother was always harsh with him. How does this strange memory come to me where he's asking me to forgive him? Huang notices he's lost in thought and asks him what's wrong. John tells him, I have to make sure of something. He leaves them and runs to meet his brother. On the way, he feels a headache and he starts remembering other memories, but this time it was his father who was beating him and his brother who was defending him. He's confused. He doesn't understand what's happening to him or where these memories are coming from. When he reaches his brother, he asks him to tell him the truth. His brother decides to tell him everything. He says, Our father is the cause, my son. I was always trying to defend you and I asked you to leave the house to protect you.
He apologizes for hiding the truth because he didn't want to break his heart. You saw me as bad and it didn't matter to me. The most important thing was that I saw you safe and sound and could be at ease about you. John is shocked by what he heard. All this time he had wronged his brother. He learns his brother loves him and was worried about him. He thanks him for everything he did for him, reconciles with him, and goes back home. Afterward, Huang comes back worried about him and asks him what happened. John tells him everything he learned. My brother loved me, protected me, and was always my support and backbone, and I am the one who wronged him all my life. Huang is happy that John discovered the truth and their relationship improved at the right time.
So-hee is also worried and wants to check on him, but she refuses to pressure him and decides to wait until he tells her himself. The next day, John meets her and tells her there was a misunderstanding, and that he resolved things between him and his brother.
So-hee is happy and tells him, "I was always sure your brother loved you because he was always watching you. His eyes always had looks of love for you.
They were never looks of fear of you."
Afterward, they go into the lecture together, and the teacher asks them about their role model among the students. John tells her he's impressed by Hwang's character, saying he's a person who struggles and is smart. And despite his difficult circumstances, he works more than one job, but always gets high grades. Then she also chooses Hwang because he's a responsible person she can rely on.
Hwang is embarrassed by their words and thanks them. At the end of the day, John walks So-hee home, but when he arrives, he finds his mother waiting for him. She had seen them together. When they go into the dorm, she keeps mocking So-hee because she's not at his level. But John defends her and tells his mother he loves her and is ready to sacrifice everything for her. He's puzzled that his mother even showed up. But when he gets close to her, he's shocked to find bruises and wounds on her hands and all over her body. Without thinking, he immediately knows who caused them. But she cries and asks him not to bring it up to anyone, then leaves and walks off, upset. Afterward, John calls his brother and tells him everything that happened with their mother and learns from him that he asked their mother more than once to leave the house, but she refused to get a divorce. John feels sorry for her because she was suffering and enduring for their sake. He goes to meet Hwang and asks to talk to him because he's upset. They sit together, and Hwang asks about his own father who died.
Hwang tells him he worked as a police officer, and that he inherited that strength from him to make him proud.
John is moved by his words and also tells him about his father. But Hwang learns he's a harsh person who treats him and his mother in the cruelest way.
Hwang feels sorry for him because he thought John's life was easy, and advises him to be brave and defend himself. John thanks him and decides to learn from him and do that. The next day, John meets So He at the university and notices she's not herself. He asks her what's wrong, and she tells him her mother asked to meet her. She learns her mother abandoned her and took left her when she was young, and since then she'd been waiting for any call from her, but not once did her mother call her or reach out. She never asked about her.
John feels sorry for her, but gets encouraged and tells her, "I too decided to confront my father. Each of us has to confront what scares us." He asks her to meet her mother and tell her everything in her heart instead of suffering her whole life. So He is convinced by his words and decides to do it. She goes to meet her mother, who is happy to see her, holds her hands, and tells her she missed her. But So He can't accept her words. She pushes her away and tells her she lived a hard life without her, that she needed her all the time, but now she's grown up and can rely on herself.
She apologizes to her mother, leaves her, and walks off crying. John is waiting for her and hugs her to comfort her and ease her pain. He tells her she needs time before she can forgive her mother. He holds her hands and they walk together happy, but suddenly John finds his father's driver in front of him asking him to come with him. So He is worried about him and asks him not to go, but John reassures her he'll be fine, leaves her, and goes with him. So He decides to tell John's brother what's happening. She goes to his office and tells him what happened, that the driver came to take John. His brother is scared by her words and rushes to catch up. He gets in his car and drives at top speed, remembering his childhood memories. We learn he decided to sacrifice his happiness and asked his father to leave John alone, and in exchange, "I'll do everything you want." And he's afraid his father broke his promise to him. At that time, John reaches the house and his father is waiting for him. He shows him the video of him getting beaten by the bullies and says, "See what you're like, weak. I'm ashamed of you. You're a failure of a student." He asks John to come live in the house again so he can watch over him. I have to make you a strong student, but John refuses because he hates him. His father gets furious and locks him in the room wanting to beat him. But his brother arrives at the right moment and stops him. He gets John out of the room, fights with his father, reminds him of the agreement between them, and warns him that if he goes near John, he'll make him regret it. Their mother arrives and keeps banging on the door crying. But this time she gets encouraged and decides to call the police. She reports her husband and tells them everything he does. They arrest him so he'll be punished.
Afterward, John gets in the car with his brother and thanks him for coming and saving him and for always sacrificing his happiness and doing what their father said to protect him. He goes back to his dorm affected by what happened.
Huang is waiting for him. He'd been sitting worried the whole time. He tries to reassure him, but John can't take it and breaks down crying. Huang stays beside him to calm him and ease his pain. Days pass and John stays depressed, locking himself away, not going out at all, and not talking to anyone. The students at the university notice his absence. So he asks about him, but she too can't reach him. She meets Huang and tells him she plans to go to John's apartment to check on him.
But suddenly John appears in front of her and the moment he sees her, he runs to her and hugs her, telling her he missed her and apologizing for being away from her. Then he sits with Huang and says, "They're now even. Each has seen the other crying." and thanks him for being in his life. Suddenly, the bully who had kidnapped Sohee appears in front of them after getting out of prison. He regrets everything he did and apologizes to John, telling him he plans to leave the university and asks him to forgive him. But John tells him he has to apologize to Sohee and start fresh.
The bully is moved by his words and does it. He kneels on the ground in front of all the students and apologizes to her crying. Sohee feels sorry for him and realizing he's changed, decides to forgive him. Afterward, the professor arrives and asks them to do an end of semester project and they learn it's a chance to improve their grades and mend the conflict between them. The bully decides to help them and invites them over. They all gather together, keep drinking and joking, and get closer and closer, and decide to turn a new page.
Afterward, John's father gets out of prison on bail. He's shocked to find that all the company's employees have submitted their resignations. When he goes home, he finds no one there and learns his wife took her clothes and left. Everyone abandoned him, leaving him alone. He breaks down and keeps drinking to try to forget. He goes to John's, still remembering his wife there, and keeps searching for her, but can't find her.
John tries to talk to him and asks him to change himself because his cruelty will make everyone leave him.
But his father gets furious at his words and wants to beat him again. But this time, John stops him and defends himself. He learns John has changed and no longer fears him. John warns him that if he comes near him again, he'll make him regret it. His father is moved by his words and goes home feeling lonely, regretful, wishing time would rewind so he could fix his relationship with his family. That night, John feels hungry and asks Huang if he wants to eat with him, but Huang tells him he's not hungry. John decides to cook himself.
The smell of the food is delicious, and the moment he puts it on the table, Huang can't resist and sits with him to eat. They keep bickering with each other like brothers, and John is happy he finally no longer feels lonely like before. The next day, Huang finds his brother waiting for him and gives him a gift. When he opens it, he's shocked to find it's the journal of his dead father. His brother reassures him that he and their mother are well and asks him not to worry about them and to take care of himself a bit, then leaves and walks off. Huang remembers his memories with his father, and when he opens the journal, he finds a picture his father took of him wearing his clothes and feels he misses him. Afterward, the group gathers for their project. They decide to make it about the good and evil inside each of them, and each one starts talking about the dark side of their life. They all have moving stories, and they keep supporting and encouraging each other to give themselves confidence. Each one decides to work on their part, and they cooperate as if they're one hand, forgetting the conflicts that existed.
Finally, the day of the project presentation comes. John decides to be the one to go up on stage and everyone is surprised because he's the youngest of them, but they encourage him. He starts talking in front of the students about their project, how each person needs someone to support them so the light inside them can shine. A video they'd prepared plays telling about their lives and their youth, explaining it's an important stage they must make use of. When he finishes, another video plays about the behind the scenes of the project showing how hard they worked, how they helped and supported each other. All the students are impressed by their friendship and keep cheering them on. They win the award for best project.
The group is happy and decides to celebrate together. That night they stay up at a cafe, keep drinking and joking and are happy. Afterward, Chan asks to talk to So-Hee and tells her he's going to enlist in the military. He thanks her for always being by his side and apologizes if he broke her heart. He tells her, "I regret losing you. I couldn't confess my feelings to you." He says goodbye and wishes her happiness, hugs her, and asks her to close her eyes until he leaves because he doesn't want to see her crying. But in truth, he's the one crying and he doesn't want her to see him like that. He keeps walking wanting to hold onto his last image of her while laughing at the same time. Ran meets Hwang and tells him she's given up and decided to distance herself from him, but they'll stay friends. She leaves him and goes running at the club and by chance she meets Chan and they keep talking together and it seems like maybe they'll get into a relationship.
Afterward, Hwang goes to talk to John and tells him he's going to live with his mother to take care of her after the operation. John is shocked and upset that Hwang will be away from him and he's afraid Hwang will forget him.
But Hwang reassures him telling him he'll stay his closest friend. John is happy with his words and they keep staying up. The night passes and the days pass and 6 months go by. The new school year begins with John asleep in the lecture and Hwang sitting behind him. When Hwang tries to wake him, he spills the coffee cup on him. They keep laughing. The first time they met they did the same thing. So-Hee comes to sit with them and they all attend the lecture together. When they finish, Juan goes to look for a job after university.
He says to himself he still has no time for love and relationships, but this time he has friends to lighten his burden. He's happy with their presence.
The three of them gather, remember their memories together, and all the beautiful moments they lived, and keep laughing and agree to stay friends for life. And with that, the series ends.
