He goes, "I've never known a person who hustle like like this." Adam was telling us how he would take out Craigslist ads and people would pay him like $40 to come like say something funny at their friend's birthday party. Like he would do anything and everything. He was hustling so hard. Never stopped. And now he's like a big comedian and he has I don't know if he has like his own Netflix special, but he was invited to this event. No. and he's like in the crew of like top comedians and Simon was like I am so happy for this guy. He I've never seen anyone willing to do anything. He said that he did voice over work for Simon's dad and brother for something like would do anything. I was just saying this on this podcast I did.

Simon with the beer goggles thinks that there would be a brunch at Ted Sarandos's house to toast you. This is This is Okay, I'm now seeing things clearer than I ever have.

[01:11:39]>> Um, anyway, he said something to me that stands out to me all the time. And it was about Simon feeling like he was very sensitive whenever I was like, >> "Okay, we're not cutting this out. So, if you're going to tell this story, you got to leave."

[01:11:51]>> I'm saying it in a way that gets to stay.

[01:11:53]>> Okay.

[01:11:54]>> He was very sensitive to me being critical of a certain person. And I was like, "Jesus Christ, I'm never allowed to say anything." And he and we were at a we were at a a standoff about it, like a stand still. And Josh said, "I think if Simon felt that you had a foundation of love for this person, he would be way more comfortable with you criticizing them." But without the foundation of love for that person, it's only criticism.

[01:12:26]And I it really unlocked something for me because if you just want to [ __ ] on someone all the time, then a person who likes that person or loves that person is going to feel like they constantly have to defend them. But if you're complimenting them, hyping them up, appreciating them, and giving criticism, then it's going to be received differently. And it really made sense to me.

[01:12:52]>> Okay. But what do you do? I I have no idea who you're talking about. But what if the person you're talking about like you really don't like?

[01:12:58]>> Are you supposed to be fake?

[01:13:00]>> No. Well, then then that's that's the truth, >> right? That's different. Cuz this person I assume you like.

[01:13:06]>> Yeah. I think I was just I think I was focused on getting Simon to see the negative >> instead of letting him watch me see the positive, too. Do you know what I mean?

[01:13:15]Like I understood this idea that like it just feels like you hate this person.

[01:13:20]>> I think that you and I I mean I know that I do. I know I have it is such a trigger for me people not seeing something that I see and I think it's because being a child like we spent our life being like no dad she didn't feed us like she didn't feed us >> didn't feed us crazy >> like whatever and it was always like oh you're crazy you know so now I'm always like >> guys are you not seeing what I'm seeing hello >> so interesting you say this >> are you not seeing what I'm seeing because I I felt crazy as a kid. I I'm not crazy as an adult.

[01:13:56]>> So, on set last week, me and two of the writers were like deeply imshed in a in a story. I'm saying this thing. They're like baited breath, you know, like we're all on this journey together, just like so in sync with each other. And Bruce Bruce Eric Kaplan, one of the showrunners on my show, came up and he was like, "You the smile on your face, the joy that I saw, what was that? What What is it for you? What was what was it that made you so happy? Like what's your love language?

[01:14:24]>> That's so sweet of Bruce to even notice that.

[01:14:26]>> I know. And I said shared reality.

[01:14:29]When someone shares the same reality that I'm experiencing, it makes me feel whole. Guess what?

[01:14:37]You and I both feel that way. But it's not normal for two people to see life the same way. So, because I need I need this. Like, not a lot of people need what you and I need in this. You know what I mean? So, I think that is such a source of friction for you and I because we both need that.

[01:14:55]>> But that's not reality. It's not like >> I know people there's four people in my house right now. Every single one of them is going to look at the situation different.

[01:15:03]>> It's not a positive. It's not a good trade.

[01:15:05]>> They wouldn't care as much as we care.

[01:15:07]>> But I feel like Jordan's not like that.

[01:15:09]She's sort of like whatever.

[01:15:10]>> She's not really like that.

[01:15:11]>> She's not as You know what? She was younger. I it when you're when you're >> by the way when I told it to them I explained parts of our childhood as the reason I literally said >> wait that's weird >> sort of similar to what you said I said when I was a kid you know my experience with this one person was very negative and people would always come up and say positive things about them and they had a very different experience and it made me feel crazy and I hated how it felt and I really cared that.

[01:15:38]>> Mhm. That's crazy that you and I have not discussed this >> like five days ago.

[01:15:43]>> No, no, that's crazy. I've never been I've never felt the need to say what I just said.

[01:15:48]>> Weird.

[01:15:49]>> Yeah. And then I'll just show you. Hold on one second.

[01:15:51]>> We should dive We should dive more into this because I think a lot of >> So then I had a text I'm just looking my I had a text from Bruce on Saturday about like, you know, something cut differently, blah blah blah. And I said, "We'll figure it out." out and he says, "Okay, we can share reality together on Monday."

[01:16:12]>> Bruce, what a little sweetheart.

[01:16:14]>> Yep. He was like, "We'll share reality cuz that's what you need."

[01:16:16]>> Guess what? He saw you. He saw you.

[01:16:19]>> Yep.

[01:16:20]>> He adjusted. And guess what? I guarantee you, you've never felt so close to Bruce. He didn't have to adjust. He was just watching me and wondering why I was My heart was singing.

[01:16:31]>> What an observant king.

[01:16:33]>> Yeah, >> we love that. All right, I'm going to go back to work and not go to Shabbat with my child. I got to go to Nou. Got to hit up Nou. Oh, yeah. Heard all about it. The beach. Um, okay guys, got to go.
