DoorDash App Paused for 45 Minutes?! Slow Day Reality + Spark Earnings Breakdown

[00:00:00]Well, after waiting 45 minutes, I finally got an an order going to New China.

[00:00:06]Um, yeah, but now the 45 minutes sitting there waiting, my app kept going into pause mode.

[00:00:19]I'm rejecting that one.

[00:00:22]Great wall restaurant. $4.20 for 13.3 miles.

[00:00:29]I'm getting rinky dinky orders. Uh I'm in I'm in the hot zone areas, but there's there's just going to average weight four to 14 minutes.

[00:00:48]Going to do the morning spark.

[00:00:51]Yep. I took the first order. It's a little small. Uh $18.50. 50 cents for 8.4 miles. It's double shopping, but it's very small. Like, one customer has got four and the other one's got eight.

[00:01:06]It's going to take about 41 minutes. So, hopefully I can get that done in time to hopefully get a decent pickup. So, but it rained last night, so it's going to be a little wet today. I don't know if it's going to continue. It's not raining right right this minute. Um, but the roads are wet.

[00:01:26]So, so hopefully traffic won't be so bad now since it's now the Tuesday after the race. Usually the Monday, but traffic takes some people, you know, take take a couple days and do hang around and then they leave. So, but the the mass exodus was uh uh Sunday and Monday. So anyway, so let's uh let's head to Walmart and let's do some shopping. So see you in a little bit.

[00:02:02]Both customers, repeat spark customers.

[00:02:05]Uh the first one, unfortunately, the one with the most items was uh two things of g power aid, a a kitchen cart, and some had to go up three three flights of stairs for that one. And then uh the second one is just was the two uh coffee creamers, bought, you know, the cold stuff. So yeah, it wasn't um wasn't very easy, but uh soon as I made up the last drop off, starting to get the uh the vertigo starting to come back. Not not so bad, but uh I think I'm going to stop right there, take a little rest, and see if I can uh get back in time to uh to do some door dash. If not, well, we'll see. So anyway, but like I said, two two uh both SP smart spark uh customers were are now repeat smart customers. So I'm going to head on home.

[00:03:05]Um get some rest and if if I feel a lot better now, I'll do door dash. If not, I'll just take the rest of the day off.

[00:03:21]uh laid down for a little bit and then I uh ate something. So now we're going to try and do some door dashing. And now the problem is it's raining. So I'm going to give it a try. Got my rain jacket on. So let's go ahead and start the dash.

[00:03:51]Um, but you know, if it gets on like a month soon, I'm coming back home.

[00:04:01]Uh, I did that one time. I delivered a huge rainstorm, got soaked to the bone.

[00:04:09]So, anyway, so let's see what happens.

[00:04:12]Um, heading over to Cracker Barrel and base operations.

[00:04:40]Um, so I refreshed the uh I reset the phone, logged out, relogged in, you know, it says, you know, two to two to four minute wait and then finally when I did all that, I got got this order. So got something. So let's head to New China and uh then the delivery.

[00:05:04]See you in a little bit. Well, that was quick and easy to make that delivered to the apartment complex, the one that has three stories, three floors, but I got lucky. I only had to deliver to the first floor. But, uh, yeah. So, yeah, that took forever to get that one. I don't know what's And the app kept pausing and so I reset the whole phone and logged out, logged back in. So, so I'm right now I'm practically almost at the southern end of the gauntlet. Um, Bojangles and uh Dairy Queen is right down that way.

[00:05:47]So, I'm going to go head up back up north and run through the majority. Oh.

[00:05:59]I'm rejecting that one.

[00:06:12]That was another That was the Great Wall Giant. So, I'm not No, this one was $7 $7.30 for uh four mile five miles. So yeah, that was a high pay it that was high paying offer. So anyway, so at least I know the ad's working because now it's giving me crappy orders.

[00:06:38]So my at least my my ARS is staying at 88, but if I reject another one, it's definitely going to go down. So man, you would think now it has stopped raining as far as you know, still wet.

[00:06:55]So, I went and took my jacket off. Uh, but I'm going to run through a majority of the gauntlet, see if we pick up an order, but not like that. Uh, now if that would have been $10 for 13 miles, I probably would have taken it. Uh, but that's triple the mileage over the dollars. No.

[00:07:20]So anyway, let's run through most of the gauntlet and see if we pick up an order.

[00:07:24]So see you in a little bit. Well, just like that, another offer popped up to Sonic. It's $10 for 8 miles, but I was just right in front of Sonic. So I just had to quickly move over, wait for the traffic to pass because this is a bad spot.

[00:07:39]So let's go pick up the order and then make the delivery. So see you in a little bit. Well, I finally delivered that uh Sonic.

[00:07:47]It's out here. I've been out here before. Um, I'm near near the river system or a lake lake, you know, part of the lake system.

[00:07:57]Good news, I'm south of the city, so I'd be able to run the gauntlet. Um, but it was difficult to make sure this was the house to be in. Oh, there wild chickens or free roaming chickens. U, I couldn't see. And then I finally saw one as I was driving away, they have a gray, you know, the wood wood uh wood mailbox post, you know, turns gray or they got gray numbers on a gray post and I couldn't then but it was the right number. So anyway, uh yeah, slightly out of zone.

[00:08:38]So let's uh let's head back, run the gauntlet, and see if we can get something else. So, see you in a little bit. Just picked up a high paying Arby's. I think it's like $6 for less than a mile. I have to look at it later.

[00:08:52]But I rejected an offer before that. Uh, so my AR is down to 87. It was a McDonald's order for $3 for two miles.

[00:09:06]So, anyway, I'm here at Arby's. Let's go pick up that order and then deliver to the customer. So, see you in a little bit.

[00:09:16]That's probably one of the shortest food delivery of Door Dash. I've done Door Dash like a Dollar General and I delivered across the street from the Dollar General. That was the shortest.

[00:09:27]And then the second shortest uh was a Dollar General order for the same Dollar General, but for our apartment complex behind the Dollar General. Well, this food order from Arby's, which is right over here, to the Walmart Out Center, which is right over here, 6 milesi.

[00:09:49]So, anyway, now it's it's starting to it's starting to come down. Uh, don't know how much longer.

[00:09:58]Now, this looks like it's uh it's it's going to be socked in because it's it's gray skies everywhere. So, I'm right here at Cracker Barrel. So, I'm going to sit here. Go ahead and sit in the parking lot. See if we can pick up another order. So, see you in a little bit. Well, I've been sitting at base for a while. Finally got a an order that I could take. It was high paying. We're going back to Jumbos.

[00:10:25]um burgers and wings.

[00:10:29]It's $6 for three miles, but I rejected an order before that.

[00:10:34]It was uh not bad. Not bad. I can't remember. It was It was a Starbucks order for $4 for 12 miles.

[00:10:47]And because of that, now I lost an uh I lost an error point, but I also lost an overall point. So now I'm down to 91.

[00:10:55]I'm still missing the two points because of the uh app failure uh a month ago.

[00:11:02]And they said they were going to wave it. They haven't waved it. So So my wiggle room is smaller now.

[00:11:12]So let's head over to the jumbos and pick up the order and then and then on to the customer. See you in a little bit. What a mess. It's it's raining.

[00:11:20]It's steady rain right now. Well, I just delivered the the jumbos over here to the hospital. Not very far. So, yeah, that that was pretty good.

[00:11:31]But yeah, it's it's it's slow.

[00:11:35]Um, I that's the best way I could tell you cuz last week on Tuesday, I think I made over $80 and but every one of those orders except for like one or two were and I did like seven trips were over $10, but I'm getting rinky dinky orders. Uh I'm in I'm in the hot zone areas, but there's there's just going to average weight four to 14 minutes.

[00:12:10]So it's already 15 after one, so I just got, you know, it's an hour and 45 minutes left in my dash that I do. You people probably asking, well, why don't you just dash a little longer? Well, you know, I I have my schedule that I like to do. Uh I like to get home, rest a bit, and I work on videos, you know, for the channel. The uh but yeah, today is u today's just, you know, unusually slow. Well, didn't hurt that I had a slight relapse and took took a uh rested a little bit, but I feel good now. Um, it's just every once in a while. So, anyway, so let's head back to Cracker Barrel and wait for another order. So, see you in a little bit. Well, just as I signed off, I picked up a slightly underwater Wing Stop order. It's like over $7 for just a little bit over 11 miles. At least the mileage is not double, but you know, it's uh I waited like 30 minutes for this for the previous order and it's just wait.

[00:13:25]So pickings are slim right now and uh but yeah, but I've I the two orders I declined the mileage was slightly slightly more than double and the other one was triple the mileage over the money. So those are the two I really declined.

[00:13:44]And those are the two I take the bet. I declined three. I declined the $3 for two miles.

[00:13:52]Yeah, I didn't. So, so I've declined three orders today and my AR is down to 86 and I lost an overall point. Trials and tribulations of a of working a very low density zone.

[00:14:11]Um, yeah.

[00:14:14]For those that that live in high density, you know, you know, you you can pick and choose your orders uh left and right. And I bet you you get average wait time is seconds for your orders.

[00:14:30]Mine are in half hour increments or more. So anyway, let's head to Wing Stop, pick up the order, and then head to the customer. See you in a little bit. Well, just dropped off that Wing Stop to a repeat Door Dash customer.

[00:14:47]Uh, same neighborhood in of that house, also Door Dash customer. The one that has multiple people living in the same house. I think they're all renting a room. Uh, so, and I know there's a couple other houses that have like four or five cars in front of I think there's more than one house that uh have multiple people renting some. Anyway, now that I'm out here, I picked up a uh Taco Bell order.

[00:15:13]You know, the one that seems to not care about Door Dashers.

[00:15:19]So, it's for a little over $7 for over seven miles. But, you know, hey, at least it's even and then um it's not not underwater. But, like I said, today is slow. Uh pickings are slim. So, let's head over to Taco Bell. See if they still ignore me. Uh, and uh, then on to the customer. Say a little bit. Well, I just dropped off that Taco Bell. I'm glad to double check.

[00:15:48]>> Next left on the Lakeside Way.

[00:15:50]>> The bag was ready. So, I looked and I said, "Let me double check." And sure enough, there was supposed to be a drink with it. So, I did that once before trusting the employees to put everything out there. No, I missed I missed a drink on a Zach order. Sure enough, didn't have to drink. And then um I'm going to be honest with you, I didn't I don't think Taco Bell people don't know what they're doing. Um there were a lot of people in line, so don't know what the case is, but I delivered to the customer is uh right right across the street from a repeat customer, Spark and Door Dash customer.

[00:16:32]Uh, so yeah, it's a uh I've been to that neighborhood many times. But since I finished off, I dro I picked up another order. It's a Subway uh over here by the uh truck stop. Almost $5, but just over two miles. So it's 445. The reason I took this one, it's at least over over $4, you know, $2 tip.

[00:17:00]and I'm only going two miles and I'm out here in Lincoln.

[00:17:04]Another thing is I got 15 minutes left in my dash and so this has been pretty slow and the number offers like I've already declined three already. So my point my AR has gone down gone down two points and I already lost one overall point. So, so I I took this off like to kind of build myself back up again. But anyway, let's head to the subway then the customer. See you in a little bit. Well, just dropped off that subway to small subdivision been to. In fact, it's a repeat Door Dash customer.

[00:17:42]And I just picked up uh Dollar General over $6 for three three a little over three miles. So, let's go do some shopping. So, see you in a little bit.

[00:17:52]Well, I just dropped off that uh place, the the Dollar General. Unfortunately, I took it to this uh address, the house next to the place I was supposed to because the lady came over pick it was it was a some water chips and and a slim gym, but the app told me to go to this place. They even named the business. It says such and such place may be closed today. I said, "Well, crud." And so that's where I went. But her business is right next door. So I she came running.

[00:18:22]So I totally apologize, but I was just been going with the appset.

[00:18:28]None of these have the address. They're not written on the on the road here.

[00:18:31]That in fact, I don't even see a good lord.

[00:18:39]There's a million cars going in here.

[00:18:43]>> So anyway, I'm going to >> Your destination will be on the left.

[00:18:47]>> I'm going to uh Hunt's brother's pizza place.

[00:18:50]I think is it's at this uh PV gas station. So, let's pick up the pizza.

[00:18:55]It's like for $4 for a mile. So, anyway, let's go in there and get the pizza and make the delivery. So, see you in a little bit. Well, I think I'm going to call it a day. It's 10 to 3. I'm out here in Lincoln, you know, don't want to push my luck since I had a relapse this morning. Was I was able to complete the spark. came home, laid down for a little bit, and then woke up, felt good, and ate ate lunch, and I've been Door Dashing since then. And so, so yeah, but I did drop off that Hunts Brothers pizza, but it was chicken and it's back. I delivered to an old repeat Door Dash customer of mine. Um, I haven't seen her lately because I don't do breakfast anymore. Do Door Dash. I always brought her lots of times. I like I brought it three times to her. She always got a Burger King breakfast. Uh, uh, and I always had to make sure I got grape jelly.

[00:20:01]Um, and so, but what she does, she sits out on a car, I guess, you know, but she was she was there delivering. It was nice seeing. Oh, hey.

[00:20:12]you know, and said I said, "I had seen you." I said, "Yeah, I I don't do breakfast anymore." I said, "I just do do, you know, occasionally do lunch." So, you know, quick catchup. So, anyhow, so yeah, that was uh that was that that was a pleasant surprise. Yeah, I have mentioned before her her as a customer on some previous videos when I've been when I delivered to my new Spark repeat customer. Uh so yeah, I got to see her again. So anyhow, so yeah, I'm going to end this uh very slow and looking at the I give you a quick idea. I only did nine trips out of 12. So I declined three. So, but uh I'm going to head on home. When I get there, I'll give a summary of the day.

[00:21:03]So, see you in a little bit. Well, I'm finally made it home. Um at least it stopped raining after a while for for a minute there. It was it was really coming down. I had to wear my jacket for a while. But yeah, I'm glad I'm in it now because I'm I'm a little tired. You know, this uh vertigo is really really takes it out of you. Um but right now, right now, I feel fine.

[00:21:28]So yeah, I only did the one spark and then you know right right as I was delivering groceries I was I was feeling the vertigo again and my first stop I had to climb three set of stairs to the top apartment but it wasn't that many items and it was a repeat customer. In fact both spark customers more were repeat customers. So anyway so let's uh look at the spark numbers. Like I said it was only one trip. Um, so the uh confirmed earnings is $14.50 with unconfirmed tips at $4. Yeah, that was that 18 1850 uh order. So yeah, then afterwards, you know, I wasn't feeling so I came home, laid down for a little bit, uh took a little nap, woke up, woke up fine, and um ate lunch, gave the kids their snack snack. Every time I go in the kitchen, they they they do what I call assume the position. They both sit there front of the stove, both of them side by side looking up with the puss and boots. Look, you know, your daddy would win snake snack. So, I have to give him a snack snack.

[00:22:41]Stinkers. Uh and then and they they play they play my wife uh too, you know. I had just fed them, right? And I go I go upstairs. start working on videos and and my wife goes in the kitchen. They're both sitting there looking at her thinking, you know, she thinks I haven't fed him. I already fed him. So, little stinkers.

[00:23:02]So, anyway, for Door Dash, it got off was real slow. What happened?

[00:23:08]My app kept going into pause mode is like, you know, it's like I I was missing an order and they put me. It happened like three or four times. So I wind up like, you know, resetting the phone, logging out of the account, logging fresh and then eventually, you know, I finally got it. That that took about 45 minutes.

[00:23:28]And that's another reason why it was a little slow. Um, so I took once I got out to Lincoln, you know, I was brought out to Lincoln, I started picking up Lincoln orders. um they were small but there was they were uh mileage was either just below or lower than dollar amount. So let's look at how much I made. So for Door Dash, I made $60.96 for nine complete deliveries. I de declined three for a total dash time of four hours and 2 minutes.

[00:24:03]Now, as far as the ratings go, uh, I've lost I was at 89, no, 88, except I'm down to 86. So, I lost a point there.

[00:24:17]Uh, I still have, and so now I'm at 91 overall rating where I was 92. Still missing the two uh completion rate. They still haven't uh given my two points back because of uh that that uh u Door Dash crash which about about a month now. But you know, I knew they were not going to fix it even though they said they were going to fix it. Their fix is that it automatically fixes after 100 deliveries. So, looks like I'm uh Yeah. Um it's going to take it's going to take me a while. So anyway, well man, the today has been just kind of a slow, miserable day. It's, you know, it's been raining on and off. Uh, still warm.

[00:25:06]Stayed in the 70s. I I'm glad I got my t-shirt.

[00:25:12]So, yeah. Well, there's not much happening today. A lot of repeat customers.
