Job opportunities aplenty at myStarjob Fair

[00:00:02]Jobseekers crowded the MyStar Job Fair in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday with employers describing it as a valuable platform to connect with fresh graduates and experienced professionals.

[00:00:12]Organized by Star Media Group, the two-day fair featured companies from engineering, finance, technology, rail, and consumer services with employers highlighting the need for adaptability and continuous learning in an AI-driven job market.

[00:00:25]As a diamond sponsor of the event, Venovox Sendirian Berhad received a certificate of recognition from Star Media Group senior manager, events and exhibitions, Elaine Wong.

[00:00:37]Venovox Chief Executive Officer Sharmila Gunasekaran said the company's first participation at the fair had been an interesting experience and likely would not be its last.

[00:00:46]I think it's an interesting experience has been from the start to now.

[00:00:50]Um, definitely a lot of opportunities for companies as well as for candidates.

[00:00:53]And for jobseekers, I think if you walk in, do not be shy. I see a lot of very shy jobseekers still where we are actually actively approaching them. So, I think the important thing is don't be shy, understand the roles they are within the different companies as well, understand the expectations because I think the most important thing is to have the to understand if you have the right qualification.

[00:01:10]Other sponsors said they were seeking passionate young candidates from diverse educational backgrounds who are eager to learn and grow within the company. Now, we are in artificial AI eras, right? So, people are uh struggling to secure their job because a lot of job are being replaced by AI. But nevertheless, in DHL, we are integrating AI as well in our roles. We still need somebody who are uh managing that AI or managing the system. So, we're still looking for people who have the background of managing the AI and technology as well as financial uh skills and knowledge as well to be part of us. Uh, MBF is a very diversified company. We have multiple industries like in healthcare, educations, we have manufacturing industries, um we have um clinics and all that. Yes, everyone have their strength. So, I believe we will build in the strength of the of the graduates. Yeah, instead of looking at the downside.

The fair also featured talk sessions by prominent figures, including Kusim Ling, popularly known as Auntie HR, and E2 Workforce Consulting Sdn. Bhd. Chief Executive Officer Victor Gan. How much more money?

[00:02:30]They come to me for advices, and they're very enthusiastic. Mhm? And I like to see that they are very proactive in trying to make a change in their life.

[00:02:39]And of course, people always ask like, "Am I too old?" That one gets popped up very often, too. I hope nobody is too old or too young for anything. Today, I think there are a lot of quality employers, a lot of quality employees looking prospects looking for jobs. So, I think the atmosphere is wonderful. So, I was very impressed with the with the stage set up. I I thought initially that nobody would be, you know, it won't be full, not many people be sitting in there, but so many people ended up listening to those sessions.

[00:03:06]Meanwhile, visitors described the fair as helpful for young people entering the workforce, and praised recruiters for being approachable and proactive. It's easy, my first time. So, I'm quite nervous because um the the the question that from the companies are it's feel like a needle for me because yeah, I I didn't face the very sharp question that regarding for my career, about my experience past before, but I enjoyed that. Uh I'm actually an assistant manager right now. So, I Yeah, I've never been a job fair, so this my first time, so I'm just giving it a try. But I guess the good part about this is that I get to meet some people out of all the booths here, and they are willing to help me out, so I think that's a good thing. Uh yeah.

[00:03:51]Visitors can also participate in a job matching initiative where recruiters and potential employees engage in sit-down interviews and resume review alongside lucky draw sessions and other activities.
