Beginning in his teenage years, he had been hospitalized multiple times for schizophrenia. In 2006, psychiatric evaluations stated that he experienced auditory hallucinations and persistent delusional beliefs. Records further show a history of civil commitment, meaning he was repeatedly placed into institutional care for both his own safety and the safety of the public. According to the latest available court records, he is currently committed to a state facility under the supervision of the Commissioner of Human Services for an indefinite period.
