FINAL DAYS BEFORE WE'RE MOMS (our induction date, cervical checks, nervous new mom chats)Added:
We could have a baby in less than a week. Oh lord.
[music] Hi guys. How's it going? It's going good over here. Still no baby yet. We're going to film again. We're going to do another vlog because we're anxious and we're waiting for him. And yeah, we're just going to document these next couple days. It feels like it's already been a whirlwind. So, why not be able to look back at this and who knows if I'm going to have time to put these clips together because we're going to have our hands pretty full pretty soon. So, come with us as we stress out and wait for things to happen. I'm so excited.
We're getting ready to go to our last OBGYn appointment and they're supposed to be giving us like I don't know if this is common knowledge or not. It wasn't for me before, but apparently they don't like when you go past 40 weeks. Yeah. um when you do IVF. So um if it does come to that, they're going to want to induce. So we will likely be getting an induction date today because next week I'm 39 weeks.
>> Yeah.
>> So [laughter] she said last time today is the day that we sign the papers.
>> Yeah. And Chris was like Chris is like wait papers.
>> What does sign the papers mean?
>> Oh yeah.
>> Last appointment little buddy.
>> Okay. I have my wallet.
>> Okay. We wanted to go pick up sandwiches from this new sandwich shop, but it's closes at 3:00 and it's going to be already 2:15.
>> We could have a baby in less than a week.
>> Oh lord. How are you feeling?
>> I think I'm feeling good. I But I'm really going to ask to be induced towards the end of next week. [laughter] >> She's like, can I ask her to do it as late as possible?
>> Like I just feel like being in the realm of health.
>> Yeah. Like health still very healthy baby vibes. Healthy me later.
>> Yeah. Because today is actually technically my last day of work, too.
So, >> so, so >> how many more? Yeah, I mean, I have an appointment and then you have like what, one more hour to go.
>> Yeah, I have a few things to do when we get back to wrap things up, but it's Friday. It's my last day of work and I kind of just want a few days of no work before the baby.
>> Yeah, that's fair.
>> That's fair, right? Cuz I worked pretty much right up to the delivery of the baby. I'm just such a hard worker.
>> Yeah, I am a little nervous.
start driving and keep driving.
>> I think I'm more nervous just because I don't want it to be Monday. [laughter] >> What?
>> Like like I don't want her to be like Monday's good. I'm like uh in my mind I'm thinking like it's going to be like next Wednesday or Thursday, you know?
>> How are you feeling?
>> I'm feeling easy breezy [laughter] breezy.
>> I feel like you're feeling more anxious than I am.
>> I'm really excited for this appointment.
I feel like this is like a very big piece of information we're about to get.
>> Yeah.
>> So, um You're nervous. Why are you nervous? It's coming either way, right?
>> I'm not nervous.
>> I'm not nervous for today.
>> No, >> I'm like excited for the information today. I'm like slightly ner I just want everything to I want you to be healthy and have a good delivery, but there's nothing we can do about that right now.
So, >> no. No, >> that's my only like concern.
>> Yeah. And we can't even tackle that part till I'm at labor and delivery. Right.
>> Exactly.
>> So, no problems. But we do have to finish packing our hospital bags just in case.
>> Yeah. Like I don't think we need to pack a lot of stuff. It's just more just having it in a bag ready to go, ready to grab.
>> Yeah, exactly.
>> And like we do live 10 minutes away from the hospital [laughter] if worse comes to work.
>> Packing a small amount of things is harder for me than packing a large amount of things.
>> Well, I we all know that because we've seen how you pack for trips. [laughter] >> I just roll in with one of those huge You're not any better, by the way.
>> I'm not. I never said I was, though. But I'm just saying like we know that because you just throw everything in your bag. One nice thing is is that we are so close to the hospital.
>> So if anything were to happen or like >> Yeah. Our friends have keys. Jordan and Dave have keys.
>> We have a lot of people on deck to watch JMO >> if needed. We're really close to the hospital. I heard you can't eat after you have an epidural. So I'm going to make sure we eat lots. [laughter] Got to show them our very official way we get into the hospital. Yeah. This looks scary. And we also Oh, >> it's like mushy.
>> Yeah. Bad call. Bad call. We took a shortcut. It was muddy. Very muddy.
>> Okay. It's like the creepiest way in, but it's a shortcut. You just like go through their parking structure.
>> Mhm. Yeah. This looks like not where you should be birthing a child. That is okay. Last time we were here, the elevator broke.
>> So, you're really not selling the hospital work. But [laughter] yeah, I had to help a lady carry her stroller down the stairs. I literally I called Kristen cuz she was parking the car and I was like don't take >> cuz people got stuck. Okay.
>> Going to find out when we're having a baby. Going to find out when we're having a baby. We're in the elevator that we said we shouldn't be in.
[laughter] >> It worked when I came last time. So, >> I wear my old gray suit.
second floor.
>> It works here. Okay. I'm not going to film stuff right now cuz she's getting changed. [laughter] But we're in the we're in the room and she's getting You're getting a cervical check, right?
>> Yeah. To see how if I'm dilated at all.
>> Okay. We're checking We're checking to see if she's dilated at all. Probably not.
>> Who knows?
>> Are you covered?
>> Maybe I'm just Maybe I'm just so tough.
I've had so many contractions. I didn't even know.
>> You see? Yeah, you can see your mouth.
Okay.
She told me to close this so you have privacy. But I can come I can come in at fine. It's not even busy here.
>> Hot and like >> Yeah. hard to sit. I can see your vagina.
>> Oh, [laughter] you're so cute.
>> I don't think so.
>> Okay. I kind of want to take a picture of you. You look so cute.
Yay. They made her get up on the table today because they're going to do a cervical check. They were saying that there's a possibility that she could already be dilated a little bit.
>> Mhm. Yeah. Who knows?
>> Who knows?
>> Who knows?
>> That's what we will discover.
>> Who knows? Do >> you want me to see if I can check?
>> Hello.
>> We have an update.
>> We do have an update.
>> Oh, you're so Oh, thank Kristen guessed that the OB was going to say March 4th, which is next Wednesday. Today's Friday.
And I guess Friday, but only cuz I was trying to put that out into the universe.
And technically, I think we could have picked pretty like she just wanted us to go sometime next week essentially, but she did lock it down for Wednesday, March 4th.
>> Um, but then we kind of forgot that >> she has dodgeball finals Wednesday. No, I I'm telling the story because we told our immediate family and some of our close friends and I was like, "Let me tell you like, do you want to hear the most deaf story in the entire world?"
So, this is what happened. The basically the OB was like, "Yeah, sooner, not sooner would be better, but she's like basically like Wednesday, Thursday, Friday were her recommendations."
>> No, she first said her plan was Monday, Tuesday.
>> Yeah. And we were like, "Oh, sooner than we thought." And then she was like, "But like pretty much any day was fine." Mhm.
Yeah. Like we could have actually even gone to the end of the weekend, but she was like she would feel best Wednesday, Thursday, Friday because she doesn't want it to go past. So, and and we could get the boot cuz we're not like an emergency, right?
>> Obviously. So, I think literally Monday to Friday was like our timeline. Yeah.
So, we were like, "All right, well, you know what?" But we kind of looked at each other and we're like if Wednesday is good then we don't have to we're basically ready so then maybe it's better just not like sit around like waiting.
>> Yeah. I'm just like being anxious about like So okay, long story short, we book the OB. She gets everything set up in the system for us to come in for our induction on Wednesday. So Steph's in the system to be induced on Wednesday.
Then we're driving home and Steph all of a sudden goes, "Oh no." And I'm like, "Okay, what? I thought there was a real emergency." And she goes, "Your dodgeball finals. Your dodgeball finals are on Wednesday." And I was like, [laughter] "Okay." Like I told my team, >> you just you just won a semiinal. You were in >> overtime.
>> Overtime win five to make it to the finals. [laughter] I told my team the whole time that Steph's very pregnant and I was like at any point like I could not show up the rest of the season and they're well aware and very supportive because it's adult dodgeball.
>> If we can pick the date now you can still do your final >> and we can have a baby.
>> So anyway, I was like, "Babe, it's absolutely fine. I'm just going to miss it and that's not a problem." Before I could even say we're all good, she was on the phone with the doctor's office asking if we could change the date. So now we're going in on Thursday.
[laughter] So we get to tell our first baby.
>> We had to wait till Dodge finally >> that Yeah, you were you could have been born the day before, but no.
>> But you're welcome. [laughter] >> Sport of life. Well, it's it wasn't like she seemed concerned that one day was going to like I hope people are like, "Oh my god, you're if it was a health or safety thing." I would obviously be like >> and I hope you would.
>> Yeah, 100%. Cuz we said I'm like, "Is there any reason why we should do earlier or later?" And she was pretty much like she just doesn't want it to go too late. So, >> we got to essentially pick >> and I got to go to [laughter] move it.
>> Yeah. And then my friend who plays dodgeball with me is aware of this story and she was like, "Oh my god, we better win." And I was like, "Yeah, no No pressure. No pressure on bringing home the cup."
>> I will come watch this week though, just because.
>> Will you?
>> Well, why not?
>> Yeah, you got to >> got to watch the big finals.
>> Championship day.
>> Anyway, so we have our induction dates.
>> So, technically today's Friday. We'll be induced next Thursday as long as everything goes to plan.
>> And we'll probably have a baby in our arms by next Friday.
>> One week.
>> Exactly. One week.
>> One week.
>> We have one week. So, we have to We have one weekend left as a family of three.
>> What are we going to do?
>> Sleep.
>> Hang out with rest.
>> Think about how it feels to be rested.
>> Yeah. Your aura ring is so happy with your rest scores these days. It's not going to be in a week.
>> He's taking this guy on.
>> Take our firstborn on more walks. It's your last week of being an only son.
[laughter] >> This needs to be cleaned.
>> This is my baby in our messy office.
>> Crazy messy office.
>> Sending her final emails before Matt leave. [sighs and gasps] >> We're going to be off for 12 months.
>> I'm putting on my out of office right now. Thank you for your message. I'm currently out of the office on maternity leave.
>> How does that feel? During this time, I will have limited access to email. For assistance, please contact >> limited access. No access. Zero access.
>> I'll [laughter] have some access.
>> My boobs are going to be leaking milk.
>> But I'm taking it off my phone. I told them I'm taking it off my phone. So, if they need me, they have to text me and then I'll get on my computer.
>> Okay. How's it feel?
>> It feels pretty good. Honestly, this whole week I was kind of like, should have I worked this week? [laughter] I don't know. We're golden, baby. I can't believe it.
>> I can't believe it. I can't believe it.
>> I can't believe it.
>> That's crazy. What a feeling.
>> What a feeling, babe. It feels weird.
How's it feel for you?
thrilled. [laughter] >> Okay. What's happening? Um, I'm making dinner.
>> And watching Married at First Sight Australia. Feel like I watched the show when I was in college.
>> It's still on. So, >> okay. So, we just finished dinner and it was delicious. Thank you, babe.
>> You're welcome. But we have a hanger in for a little sweet treat.
>> Sweet treat.
>> And we don't have any ice cream in the house. The hell?
>> And so and McDonald's has um the shamrock shake now available. So >> we don't need your two sounds. So I'm going to get the shamrock shake. And >> I don't know what I'm going to get yet.
>> She doesn't know what she's going to get yet.
>> I kind of want like a like a Ben & Jerry's.
>> They said something about a Cadbury Cream.
>> Yeah. Do they have those at McFlurry's?
I'm a I'm more of like a like a Dairy Queen girl.
>> I know, but we can go to Dairy Queen.
>> Okay, >> we said that.
>> No, no, it's it's closed. I think I closed at 9:00.
>> It is still only like February, so Dairy Queen is not good.
>> Yeah. But >> ice cream running. Okay. She doesn't think that's gonna have the cream eggs.
So, we're going to shoppers first to get >> Ben and Jerry's for her.
>> B&J >> and a BJ.
>> BJ, wake me up.
>> And then, >> are you coming in or am I going?
>> I can come in.
>> You want to?
>> I'm going to leave the keys with you.
>> Okay, leave the keys with me. I don't want to come in. Okay, hurry back.
>> Okay, she's gone. Pretty solid Friday.
I'm going to lock myself in the car, though.
>> Success. I almost bought non-dairy.
>> Oh my gosh, that would have been good.
What do we got?
>> Oh, >> I've never had that kind.
>> The core.
>> We've never had that.
>> No, I usually just get regular. Um, >> but they didn't have. So, >> just kidding. She's decided now that she wants Dairy Queen even though she didn't want even thought it was closed, guys.
>> Even though she didn't want Dairy Queen before, cuz she's like said she didn't want to go in and talk to anyone cuz she didn't want to go talk to anyone. But now, now she's decided that she wants cookie. What What do you want, babe?
>> I saw I want the um the one with the Oreos in it. The the cookie dough, the cookie monster blizzard.
>> Okay. Should I just get the mint chocolate chip from here? The dipped cone?
>> Well, if that's only if that's what you want.
>> Yeah. And then I can get a Shamrock Shake next month >> in March to celebrate St. Patty's Day. I did have a gift card, but for McDonald's, >> I can use that again. Who am I kidding?
Okay, pivot.
and a puff cup for Jimmy. Why does mine look so weird with what's on mine? She thought it was called just >> I ordered [laughter] >> I thought it was called Cookie Monster because it's blue. It's like snow drift.
>> Not at all called Cookie Monster, but I think my name's better, but they probably had to trademark that.
>> Mhm. And I got mint chocolate dip.
That's really good.
>> I know what I was wondering. Okay, hold this. I got [laughter] to the wall. Couple of kids at the club.
[laughter and snorts] In the club we all >> Okay, it's 6:30. I just came in and broke my water and I'm in a sexy panties in a huge diaper right now. I'm 4 cm dilated already. Like right now, I'm having another contraction. They think we could possibly have this baby in the morning. So, early morning. Oh, no. It's 12:30 now and almost 10 cm dilated. All right.
>> Great work, baby. Great work.
