To become a physiotherapist, students must complete 12th standard with science (PCB) and pursue BPT through entrance exams; while NCP guidelines planned for NEET-based admissions from 2027, 2026 admissions require individual college entrance exams. Government colleges are generally preferred due to lower fees, better infrastructure, and superior hospital attachments with more diverse patient cases. Success in physiotherapy depends on developing practical skills, continuous learning, and confidence, as skills matter more than academic marks when treating patients. The field offers wide scope but requires lifelong commitment to study and skill development.

Dr Sayyeda Uneza Fatima is live追加:
Okay. So yes, hi everyone. We are going live now for the first time on my YouTube channel. And let's see how many of you will join today because we are going to talk about so many things related to physotherapy.
And if you join this midway then maybe you can just go to the uploads later and find this live there. And uh this is my first YouTube live and I'm going live from Hyderabad straight. And this is important because I thought that many of you just you know keep repeating your questions in my DMs in my comment section on Insta and even now on YouTube as well. So I decided that it's better that we come live and talk uh about your queries and all the questions related to the field. So recently I have been posting more about the career options and career pathway in physotherapy field. So because of which many of you who are just you know fresh pass out from 12th who are just opting and looking up at the careers and options that you have available. So that's why I decided that I will tell you all about the stepbyst step process of how to become a physiotherapist because many of you are still clueless. So basically to become a physiotherapist earlier but back in 2025 NCP released the guidelines that it's going to be through the need but since it was short notice it could not be implemented this year which is 2026. So many universities, colleges everybody are now conducting their own entrance exams. Okay. So you all have to find the right college for you. For that I have already made a video. So you can just go to my video sections and watch the top BP colleges and uh look up online on the website of that college when the entrance forms are coming out, how to fill them, when the entrance exam will be and everything else the syllabus everything will be on the website. Now coming to Jamyia because I get this question asked the most because it's a central university and I have done my graduation from there. So basically to get into Jamia Islamia again you have to give a separate entrance exam. You have to go to the website of the university.
You have to fill out the application form and then you have to give the entrance exam. Once that is done a result will come out and selection list will be released for all the students who got selected in BPT and for that you have to go to the website and check the website there. Now basically coming to the admission process this year as I told you it's going to be through the individual exams in the colleges and universities but from 2027 that is next year it's going to be through the neat itself. So you all have to prepare for the need give the exam you will have categories available to choose from like MBBS BDS BPT and other things BMS etc. what all is available in the list. So that it is now centralized everything just apart from this year next year who among you are trying to you know find physiotherapist as as a career pathway you can go through the need but this year you have to go through the individual college entrance exam. Now coming to the top colleges, I've already talked about it in my videos and definitely if you do it from a government college, it is a better option because the you know fee is lesser, the infrastructures are better especially in the metro cities if you look up for. So you should look for government colleges in your Delhi, Bangalore, you know, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Mumbai and all these places where your you know infrastructure and exposure and hospital attachments are better. Okay. So that was about how to become a physiotherapist. Definitely you need a 12th standard science and PCMBB everything PCB you need to have to get into this field. Now coming to after getting into this field. Now since many of you are still at the verge of choosing the career path, it's an important question that what is the scope of physiootherapy. So I have talked about this also in many of my videos before but it is important that we talk now as well. So the scope is very very wide and that is you have to make yourself skilled, you have to learn, be knowledgeable, be confident and choose the right college because it does make a difference when you are you know going and becoming a professional like physiotherapist. So definitely it will help you all. This was about how to become physotherapist. The commonly asked questions you are asking me in my YouTube sections. Now I'm going to take all your questions here. what all you have to ask.
So somehow the stream got interrupted.
I'm so uh yeah. So you're asking ma'am how to prepare for PGI Chandigar BPT entrance exam. So basically you have to the syllabus is your 12th standard in every syllabus of like biology, chemistry and physics that all comes okay. So that you have to prepare the same way as you prepare for the neat. It will be almost the same. The better you know approach will be to go through the previous year question papers of each college because it gives you the idea of the pattern and the type of question the college asks.
Okay then you are asking Priya after BPT how was life and salary. So like I said you BPD is a very good degree if you utilize it properly. you have a scope of practicing independently and you have the you know luxury to generate multiple streams of incomes. So it depends upon how smart you are to work in how you become knowledgeable and how skilled you are to treat patients because ultimately even if you do MBBS but you're not a good doctor you cannot make much money.
It's as simple as that. So the scope depends upon your skills yourself.
Initially you can have a little rough time because the fresher salary and all to get the experience it becomes a little difficult in the private colleges but we are expecting that to change as well because of the NCHP council coming in. We are hoping multiple changes that will be made for the field. So definitely the scope is good. You just have to know what you're doing. So for that also I have made a video in my video section. You can go and check out the scope of physotherapy.
Ma'am, I want to pick you up in Delhi Lakhan like how you want to meet or we can plan a meetup definitely later on that will help you to meet.
Yes, Ana cardopulmonary is hard subject because it is different from the regular muscle orthoin kind of things. It involves more of the physiology, anatomy, the lung functions, volumes.
Apart from that, the right physiology principles, airway, heart, all these things. So you have to have very good basics to be able to identify it's critical also because you're dealing with critically ill patients. So it can go up and down anytime. So you need to know the red flags, the readings. You should learn exact readings and everything on your tips. That's how you can practice but once you learn the right way and once you get into the field and practice it becomes you know very interesting also that's how I develop interest towards it and definitely if you want to learn more about cardopulmonary rehabilitation you can follow me on Instagram as well as attend my workshops that keep on happening in different different cities and the details also I add in my community post on in YouTube as well.
Now does private and government colleges matter ma'am? Yes, private and government college do matter because of multiple factors. I had made a video on that again. But yes, see a government college if you are taking it's definitely going to give you more edge because it is going to make you enter through entrance exam. So only the good ones the counterparts your colleagues will be you know having high skills and high knowledge. They have to clear crack the entrance. After that the fee it definitely is a factor when you are taking admission in a BP because you're dependent on your parents. MPT definitely if you have you know started working during the internship or maybe take a gap year and work and pay for your MPT itself but yet if you are coming from a low soioeconomic background the government college fee is a big factor. Okay. And other than that the number of patients you get in a government setup are not you know comparable to the private one.
Government you will get so many kind of different conditions that you just read on books. You see that in government because the number of patients are so much. So your practice is more your faculties there in the government college are more knowledgeable and skilled because the government choose the faculties on multiple things and nowadays it is PhDs. So you will see that in a government college the senior faculties are more available than the private college. private college even opts for the fresher ones who do not have much experience in teaching and who do not even you know I don't know have much interest also in teaching. So definitely private and government plays a factor but there are many good private universities also who are giving excellent exposure infrastructure as well as postings and even the faculties like Amit University is there and multiple more. So definitely you have to look up at which one you are trying to get admission into rand go and waste your money in.
So yes Sai Baba Bhan you are asking how to remember the muscle name you have any idea? Yes definitely we all had to remember it when we were in our first year and the best way is to just keep on writing it. If you open the book and you just write down you know remember it compartment and structure wise muscles of back muscles of arm muscles of anterior side of the forearm posterior hands like that. So if you divide the structures like that it will become easier for you. Best book is BD chasia because they have given the tables. So it becomes more easy to you know memorize. You can make pneumonics also that helps a lot while you're writing exams because then you don't miss any muscles. So and now to you have access to the YouTube animations and AI and so many things. So definitely it will give you more tips on learning and you know getting that visual understanding of the muscles. So that way you can definitely remember the muscle's name. It's all about practice. I'm telling you initially it can get hard but once you keep on repeating it you will remember it like on your tips.
Now Kushell hello ma'am BPD government in Delhi a video please. Okay, government colleges in BPD. Actually, I have made a video on government colleges. But I have to make one video specifically for the North India because there are multiple good colleges there also. So that I will definitely shoot and make and maybe next week or so I will be posting it.
How many marks are required to get admission in BPT government college?
That depends on the cutff. Okay, there is anybody who's giving you the idea of how much marks is lying to you because nobody can tell you how much marks are required to get into any college because the entrance exam is different each year. The people who are appearing for it are different each year. It all depends on the cutff marks of that year.
The person who did the best and the kind of paper came that only just can give you the idea about the cutff marks nothing else. Okay, you can get like previous year's ideas, previous year definitely but exact cut off marks nobody can give you that is like for sure. So remember do not fall into the trap who is giving you the exact cut off marks.
Okay ma'am BPD yes I have low marks in need in Delhi can I get government BPD? See like I told you this year there is no admissions in BPD through NEAT it will be next year 2027.
So even if you have low marks in the NET you have to give separate entrance exam for BPT for a government college. Okay.
And I think the forms are already out for many universities and colleges you should look it up online now only going to the website of each college because that's how only you will be getting into the entrance exam. So definitely it's going to not depend on your neat marks. So don't worry about your low marks at all. So yes, I think you all have had your share of questions and uh it will help you all to take up your career choices. I'm not going to lie to you about anything.
Everything you are doing will require hard work. You are choosing a career into healthcare. And if you're choosing to become a health care practitioner or doctor, you have to commit to studying lifelong because you're dealing with human bodies. So you cannot run away from books and from studying and complain and cribble about being you know competitive field and low pay and other things until you become so good at your field. So that is the one important thing you all have to remember. Okay.
Few people all uh have questions. Ma'am, I am in last year BPT. I'm an average student. I'm concentrating on clinical pure theory P. That is good. Only see I it does not depend on your qualifications and your marks because nobody the patients will never ask for your mark sheet when you will going be going to treat them. Okay. So that is one basic important thing. Your skills are more important than your marks. You have to pass exams. That is one clear thing. But passing exams is a different thing. completely different thing and being skilled is completely different thing. So definitely focus on your practical, focus on theory as well because you still have to pass exam to graduate. So you're doing right. Focus on both 50/50.
Now Tankar Mahavi University. So I have heard of it the TMU university that it is good. Um few of the students from their BPT have joined us in MPT as well.
Okay. uh some of my seniors were from TMU and uh some of my juniors who are now students they are also from TMU so it's a good university I will suggest because the students are cracking genre and seasters and they are doing good so I will take idea about because I have not been do not know about what they are teaching but since we have had students from there in Jamia I will say that maybe it's a good university that's why those students are able to crack the entrance of MP because we have very limited seats in MP in Jamia and definitely we have faculty also from TMU so yes I will take it as a good thing that it's a good university for admission in BPT in 2026 to 7 can I get college based on neat marks in this year it is not neat marks next year 2027 it will be neat marks this year you have to qualify the entrance mini writes ma'am I am in first BPT year private university but the teachers don't teach well it affects my studies too. So I understand that in private colleges even for that matter even government colleges will not teach you 100%. Okay, this you have to accept. Uh some teachers will be very good, some teachers can be you know average and some will be bad also. So those subjects can get affected of course but self-study is one thing you have to put your efforts in. Okay. Look up to the people who are teaching it online videos or if you have definitely this third year, fourth year is the time where you should attend you know workshops because there are not many things taught in our colleges and that are not in our curriculum but are important for our practical practice as a physotherapist.
So look up for these things and it will definitely will help you develop more knowledge about that particular subject.
It will definitely open your you know avenues and look up online. You have videos you have you know this is the era of internet and AI you should not be complaining about not being able to study a particular subjects. So there are many many tools available for you to reach for to practice and study those subjects which are not taught well in your colleges.
Recently done BPD first year. What could I do in two month break? So in 2 months break you should brush up your knowledge on anatomy and physiology. It's very very important because by second year you will be starting more of practical subjects. I think PT orthost starts in second year. So for that and biomechanics also. So for that you will need a good knowledge of muscles. So stay focused focus on learning theories watching videos seeing animations about the human body muscles attachment movements and everything so that you can stay ahead in your second year. Okay.
Also look for the subjects which are being added in your second year. Look at the curriculum and start knowing about their you know introduction. So it will help you. Don't waste time watching and scrolling. I'm telling you.
Now ma'am make a video for BPD government college entrance exam. So I will make a video on that as well. And uh definitely there are some people who are available who will guide you through the BPT entrance exams in Jamia. I think I have on Instagram attached. Team Nihal is one account. They are on YouTube as well. They guide for MPT entrance but they do guide for BPT also if it is about Jami and other government colleges. So you can go and check out their channel. They are doing a wonderful job.
Now when to join hospital? So Yasir you are in third year and uh you have to start clinicals now. I think in third year you should be getting a practical exposure inside the hospitals because now you will be doing observership. You should be able to relate the theory to the practical. You will not be treating the patients right away but you have to understand the assessment part and how to talk to the patient the environment of the hospital so that in fourth year when you go into the postings you're more confident. So start right away. You can join the clinic also set up voluntarily or mostly the colleges appoint postings in third year onwards.
Now after BPT I practice in a clinic then admission into the for MPT is this helpful? Yes, you can do that. See MPT is not the answer. I have made this video as well in my video section. You can go and find that is MP really worth it? So the answer is that it depends upon your choices. If you are coming from some background where you cannot right away afford to do the MP but you really want to then you can wait do the job for one year save up the money and do the MPT wonderful choice okay if you are someone who's confused about the choice right now it's okay do not jump into it right away you can do it next year also take a break do the job decide if while working in the clinical setup as a BPT worth it or you feel that you still need to do a master degree because that is more preferred nowadays by the patients and by the hospitals as well.
So definitely it is your choice. It's not a must. It's not the answer for everything. Do watch that video. It will definitely help. Many of you are confused that after whether to do MPT or not. So that is the right way to think about it.
Uh after could I do any course for skill enhancement in this semester break? Avin you are in first year right? So first year students doing workshop is waste okay you're just getting into the second year and you're not going to deal with the patients right away. So don't do hands-on workshop but you can still do some of the online lectures and courses which are related to your you know course and syllabus and books and what all subjects you will be doing. So the assessment kind of you know online lectures my lecture is coming up in June actually about the cardio testing six minute walk test exercise testing ECG PFT all these things that are important for you theoretically. So those things you can do definitely but don't do hands-on workshops because first they are expensive for you to do offline workshops it because it comes in a private setting you are organizing second it will you will not be able to apply to the patient so you will forget all the techniques. Do workshops when you are in third year and fourth year so that you can apply in fourth year postings and you know internship like that and internship to definitely you are open to do it and when you are a practitioner you are full open to do whatever you want to do.
Now next video video releasing when?
Tomorrow the next video will be releasing and it will be about your books recommendations for BPT students because you keep asking me this question a lot and I have made the entire video subject-wise which all books my personal recommendations are also added and I have attained gold medal. So you should know that it is coming the recommendation from the gold medalist.
So definitely it will help you pass exam for sure. And uh the books that I recommended I still go buy them. I still have them. So you should watch that video tomorrow. It will be releasing morning.
So sorry for that interruption. It will be releasing morning time. So do watch that video.
Supria go can I get a BPD college with 200 marks? So it literally you know there is no cut off marks available and in this year there is no need criteria.
So you have to give separate entrance exam for the college itself. Okay. How is physio needs academy? I have no idea about it. Not heard of it to be frank.
So maybe I'll do a research on it and then tell you. Can I get BP with 200 marks? Okay. After MPT and orthopedic or neuro, how much salary I will get in private hospital in West Bengal? So see salary depends states to state.
Definitely I don't have much idea about Bengal because I am not from that side but I can give you a rough idea if you have done MPT you can earn up to 25 to 30k in a private hospital as a fresher.
Yes, I understand the salary is very low in private sector hospital nowadays even still now which scenario needs to change and the freshers are the one who are suffering the most because of this but uh definitely you have to you know first initial years you can do the what you call training as a purpose like that and uh you can always switch the job you can always start your own practice whenever you feel like you can take up home visit to fill the gap right now These are the options definitely available until and unless the council and the central bodies do anything to set the minimum salary standard for physotherapist across the private hospitals because yes we are suffering. I have worked in a private hospital myself after MPT and the salary was not you know above this what we are still getting but I will say that initially are the rough stages for the physotherapist because initially the salary you get low once you become skilled once you have a space in the patients when you get referrals then you start earning well so definitely it will help you all when you practice so initial one year you can consider it kind of a grind and Then go ahead and till the time the government and the council make changes into the guidelines about the salary.
Now hi ma'am I am in internship now please suggest how to improve myself for my career. So you are in internship this is your time to develop your practical skills the most. Okay. So this is your time to get into the workshops as well those who are educating you about the things you do not know till now because college does not teach everything that is for sure. Okay. So, develop your skill practically. Focus on the assessment part and your communication skills with the patient and also how you put yourself because you are a physiotherapist. You cannot be having a bad slouched posture and you know heavy put on weight and things like that and illgroomed. You are a professional a doctor.
you you should look like you're a professional while you are entering the patient room. So focus on focus on your communication skills definitely if you are introvert you know overcome your fear of talking to the people because this is your bread and butter you have to talk to patients lifelong okay apart from that work on your practical skill also be a good observer around the hospital because these are the hospital you might be working in when you join the job and also your seniors if they are telling you something wrong questions do not blindly follow whatever your seniors are teaching you because it is not going to you know make you a good one. It will make you a bad physiotherapist if you do not question the wrong practices. I'm not saying to argue back but just at least point it out that sir this is something which I have not heard or read. This is very common in our physotherapy practice.
So my dream university jamama yes all the best try and get into it. Prepare for the entrance.
Ma'am salary after BPT. BPT salary you can consider 20K in metro cities 20 to 25k that much only you will get. The condition is bad in private hospitals.
Can you please guide me that should I join BPT after two knee drops as I qualified the government interest for BPD in my state. So if you've taken the C this is your decision to make first of all I'm not here to give you a private decision making. If you think that you cannot afford to take more drops, if you think that this is something which you are interested in and you can do well in, if your parents also agree on it and if you feel that okay the field is good and you can have a scope and practice in this, then take a decision to choose it otherwise just to you know and then blame the field later on. It's not a good choice. Do your proper research first. How is the field? about all the you know downfall and the bad points, the good points, everything and then take a decision wisely. Okay.
Best college for emputing and cardio. My personal recommendation is Jamia University, Jamia, Mia Islamia, New Delhi. Why? because they have dedicated postings in the pulmonary rehab ICU hospitals which are dealing with cardiorespiratory patients dedicatedly very qualified faculty and I have passed MPT from there and now I teach MPT cardio students there so definitely it's going to be my favorite only so yes I will suggest jamia mpd content creation co-leer idea yes you should do it remember that you are a student so make student oriented contents and uh yes why not you should start Please upload a video how to wear tires surgical mask. Okay, definitely I think gloves and mask all these things we can do. So we'll make one. Thank you so much for the idea.
I have given TMU entrance exam and personal interview for MP cardio. Is it good option or opt for? I think TMU is a good university like I told you. You can uh you know talk to the people who are already studying there. So just get to talk to the once visit there talk to them they will give you better idea than me because I do not personally know about TMU but I have seen that students come in Jamia and they are good ones and they qualify the entrance also so definitely okay so CUTT which college should we go for CUT see the CUT idea MP entrance and all I think I've told you the name team Nihal they are on YouTube as as well and on Insta as well they will guide you properly about each and every university entrance exam and MP admission so they are doing it dedicatedly they have a full team and everything so definitely go and talk to them all right so I think that's all for today's live we have had a wonderful experience my doing my first live and I hope you all got your answers I'm trying to do this frequently like once a month so that all your queries and questions who you put in my comment section keep putting them so that I know that what all I need to answer so that we can have a live and have a conversation like this later on as well. So definitely see you all in the next live session and I'm in Hyderabad right now. I just landed 2 hours back and I will be off to get some biryani now. So hoping my ICU rehab workshop is tomorrow in Hyderabad and if you want to get you know details about my upcoming lectures and workshop you can just go to Instagram and follow me there. So yes, that's all from me today.
Bye-bye. Hope you all enjoyed this live session. Thank you all.
I don't even know how to end live
