Breaking: PM Modi Reviews Govt Performance, Focuses On West Asia War Impact On Economy | India TodayAdded:
to the prime minister le review meeting that we saw yesterday and these are the first images that have now come to the forefront of that very performance review meet remember the performance review meet comes in at a time when Modi 3.0 to completes 2 years. It's a big scoop from the Modi man's hurl wherein it's a reform push that is being now looked at as per sources uh and the reform push by the ministers were all reviewed what has been done so far in just the two years by the cabinet uh in terms of reforms future plans of ministries were also discussed what more work needs to be done where all the focus should be the prime minister also discussed at length about the west Asia war impact on the people of this country. Prime Minister to the ministers in terms of message have come has come out to say that we must protect the people. He's directed to focus on impacted sectors specifically energy and agriculture. Vikas mantra to the ministers of course being keep 2047 in mind. Vixit Bharat by 2047 that's the Modi mantra for and that's been the case over his three terms. Awaria Pal joining me on the broadcast with more details on this very meeting that's taken place yesterday. Ashwaryia uh very good morning to you. This was a big high-profile meeting we saw uh taking place in Delhi right after the prime minister came back from his five nation tour. It comes in at a very crucial time given the geopolitical circumstance a disturbed geopolitical atmosphere across the world and and we're taking a look at that even impacting Indians at this given point. Speaking of energy sectors and agriculture sectors, >> well definitely you know this was a very detailed meeting in which each and every aspect was being looked at. Prime Minister Modi very very clearly telling all the ministers see the larger uh goal that the bartis party has been looking at um is the 2047 because the the target is to make sure that by 2047 when we complete 100 years then uh India becomes a developed nation. what needs to be done uh to make sure that the policies are geared up for that given the fact that we are seeing this kind of political turmoil taking place. See the West Asia war has continued longer than anyone expected it. The stage still continues. What needs to be done next?
The policies now need to be changed. The schemes now need to be changed without hurting the common man. So this is a clear message coming out from this meeting. The government's now making sure that everyone understands what what's happening globally the shielding the Indian economy and also making sure that the pace at which the Indian economy grew that pace is maintained clear >> right Aishara you know why this remark comes out to be very crucial as well is because just a few days back the prime minister had also come out to say that the impact of this war is such that it could undo a lot of the economic gains that the country's made so far. So when we speak of this review meeting taking a look at the reform push and future plans having been discussed at length how are we looking at those very remarks and what is coming out from this meeting.
>> Well you know one of the things that we should expect in the coming days is for the government to make sure that the two things that they have been speaking about ease of doing business ease of living uh all these things should be looked at. So all the ministers and the ministries have been told that now you need to go back to the drawing board make sure that you come up with schemes in which ease of doing business is being looked at because it's been one of the flagships of the government. The government believes that once you do ease of living ease of doing business that's the time wheels turning that's the time uh when you will see the churning actually happening and India gearing up to becoming a developed nation. So in tandem the ministries will now have to do two things. Make sure that the policies shield the Indian economy from any kind of impact that they are seeing uh arising from the war in West Asia and also making sure that the pace of development also remains the same. The pace of development has to be same and even more with regards to the policies that are now being done. The kind of GDP growth that we have seen s over the past few years that has to be maintained. So very clearly the government will now make sure that these two things happen in tandem. You know Aishwara you're speaking of Vix Bharat by 2047 and especially ease of living for people that's been questioned by the opposition at length especially during this crisis when the first fuel price hike announcement was made by the government and the opposition has completely come out to question the government's move saying that why a do it after the election season and how is it that this government is then protecting the citizens if they have to take such moves at the end of the day.
So all of this uh was discussed at length. If you could throw a little more light about the ease of living for citizens at difficult times like this.
>> Definitely you know you need to make sure see let me tell you what the petroleum ministry is doing. Petroleum ministry is getting a feedback from all almost all the petrol pumps across the country. Uh they have asked the officers to keep a hawk eye if there is any kind of a u if if there are pumps that are actually not giving diesel and petrol and then those pumps and those companies are actually being pulled up. So this is the kind of feedback mechanism that the government at the moment is looking at.
They are also very very keenly making sure that if uh citizens are in any kind of trouble at the moment then those things are being flagged off and the ministries are taking immediate action.
So that is something that the government has been looking at. We are also seeing how over the past few days prime minister Modi was on the five nation tour uh in those during the truth there were hundreds of emojis that were being signed. The governments are also looking at making sure that business opportunities do not slow down. The Indian economy remains and grows at the same pace that it was going but also making sure that there are ways in which the Indian economy is being shielded because it's not just India which is now seeing this kind of uh economic turbulence I would say across the world countries are grappling with what's happening in West Asia. So keeping all those things in mind in tandem the ministries need to make sure that they shield the Indian economy but also make sure that there is no economic slowdown that we are seeing uh that that that actually impacts the Indians. So that is also something that we will see coming out in days career >> right Ashwaria thank you for bringing us all those details.
