This footage starkly illustrates the brutal reality of primate social stratification, where institutional silence effectively condones the violent enforcement of hierarchy.

Punch Attacked. The Zoo's Silence Speaks Volumes | Ichikawa Zoo Update追加:
Today someone threw Punch off the mountain and that is not the worst part.
We have been documenting the truth of Punch from the beginning and looking away today felt unfair to all of us and to him.
So here is everything we know. I know how much you love him. I know what you feel for Punch goes beyond what words usually cover. So I want to say this first. If you need to leave this video here and come back later, that is completely valid. Today, May 10th, Punch was sitting quietly. Another Mac grabbed him, bit him, and threw him down the mountain structure.
arrived immediately. We have talked a lot about Momage these past weeks. That bond grows stronger every day. Miage has taken on that role. The one Punch never had. The one who comes running. The one who holds on. Today, he held on. But hours after the attack, something else happened. Punch tried to climb onto Miaoshi's leg and he slipped.
Punch never slips.
After the attack, there are images of Punch with what appears to be a wound on the inner thigh. We do not know with certainty if it is from this attack, from the fall, or from something earlier. The zoo has not released any information.
At Wild Presence, we do not speculate about Punch's health, but his body is telling us what the silence is trying to hide. The community has been documenting a pattern for 2 or 3 days. This is not an isolated incident. Two specific Macaks have been targeting Punch repeatedly. There is a pimeatlogical explanation. Akira, Sottoaru, and Momage have publicly defended Punch on several occasions that places these two Macaks lower in the hierarchy. The attacks when no one is watching are a response to that humiliation of rank. It is not hate. It is power dynamics.
But the result for Punch is the same.
The images show that today's attacker is a female. Some members of the community who analyze the footage frame by frame say it could be Otoé. Oto was also abandoned at birth at this same zoo. She also had a surrogate object. She integrated. She became a mother, a grandmother, approximately 17 years old.
But some say this female has just given birth. If that is correct, Otoé does not fit. It could be another monkey. It could be a daughter of Oto.
We don't know. And the zoo does not publish names. Integration is not a straight line. The arrival of five new babies has shifted the dynamics inside the troop. New births change hierarchies, change tension. Punch may be paying the price of that shift. The zoo has not spoken. Not a medical report, not a press conference, not even a single line. We are not asking for everything.
We are asking for something. Tell us what happened. Tell us if he has been treated. Tell us how he is.
Does Punch deserve an answer from the zoo.
Tell us in the comments. We read every single one. We will keep watching. We will keep documenting. And we will keep telling the truth about Punch. Even when the truth is hard. Especially when the truth is hard.
