You won't believe the opportunity that was offered to me, (Faith Based Business) #cargovanAdded:
All right. What's up, guys? So, uh, today is a Tuesday and this is going to be a very short video. This is information only. So, something incredible happened to me yesterday, uh, while I was on my dealers route and working yesterday. Um, so this is what I say. I literally just said this because I had a bad experience with Expedite.
They took $183 order away from me for no reason. And toward the end of that segment, I said this. Like I said, I'm not going to lose sleep over it. Not a big deal. But that's what you have to deal with when you work with gigap companies. It's not like you're an employee and you can go straight to someone and you know get uh you know talk to someone right away. This is totally up to them. They can ignore you or they can help you. And most of the time they're going to ignore you because you're expendable. So why would they care? So that's what we got to deal with. So even the best the top companies they do it too. They mistreat drivers.
They ignore you. They don't help you when you need help. It happens. I just I'm just letting you guys know. That is why again I say you got to work directly with clients. So, if I was to start my own catering service, right, I would not have to deal with that. It would be the restaurant and them dealing directly with me.
That's the way to do it. So, I told you guys that a lot of the things that you're doing on these gig apps, you can actually do it for yourself. You can do it for your own business. If you're running a business, you can operate actually like a business and do exactly what they're doing. So, this is crazy because I literally just did that video and this happened. And I told you guys I'm not a social media person, but I was led to start this channel and it's bigger than just running this business. It's bigger than that. There's a bigger calling and that's what I want to highlight. I told you guys that I don't rely on myself. So all I can do is hand out my card, promote myself, all that stuff. But something else is bringing the work to me. And I explain that to you guys. This is a faith-based business. So, every time a door opens for me, you know who I give credit to. It's not me. I can't do anything. I can't make a customer call me. Okay? He's at work. So, anyways, that's what this is. I have an opportunity to do a catering order directly with a restaurant.
A restaurant owner, a franchise owner of a restaurant. He actually just opened another restaurant, reached out to me yesterday, and he wants to work directly with me for catering orders.
So, this is the first time. I'm not going to show a lot. I'm not going to show the restaurant. There's a reason why. I'm just letting you know what's going on. It's the first time for him trying this. It's my first time. We're trying to figure out how to do this. And I got a delivery that um it's a pretty big order. It's a special client for this restaurant and uh he reached out to me directly and so we're going to try this out. Uh the route is 2 miles so not a long route.
We're going to figure out payment, all that stuff. So I just want to let you know that's what I'm doing right now. So I'm very excited, but I'm also nervous because I've never done this before. It feels weird, right? I'm not on the app.
This is 100% direct booking working. I cut out the middleman. I'm working directly with the restaurant.
All right, guys. So, I just picked up from the restaurant. Uh, it's just three bags. I took a photo of it. Um, and we're driving two miles. So, I'm delivering to a hospital. Again, I'm not going to show any of this delivery only because it's kind of it's kind of confidential at this point. Right now, it this is a trial and run. The owner is trying this out. I'm trying this out.
Um, this the owner actually paid me cash. He paid me already paid me cash.
I'm not going to talk about payment or anything yet. I will get to that eventually, so be patient. But there's a reason why I'm not showing anything on this. So, this is info only and I will give more information and I'm going to talk about how I got this opportunity after this delivery. So, I'm going to go drop it off real quick and then we'll get into it.
All right, guys. So, before I get into the purpose of the video, I picked up this freezer from Best Buy. This is a Dolly order. So, this order has been out since yesterday, and nobody has accepted it because there's a flight of stairs at the house. So, something that I will do is I will put the address in Google and like Zillow um to look up the house and see what it looks like. So, there is a flight of stairs, but it's a straight shot. And it even says that on the order. So, most people are afraid of this because you got to go up one flight of stairs. So, for me, this is worth it because this is a a freezer, a deep freezer. It's really light. So, um it's kind of tall, but it fits in here. And I use my appliance doll and I just go up one step at a time and my wife will push on the other side. Very easy. Um is it worth it? Not really for the pay, but it is worth it. So, this job is paying I think it was paying $76. That's what the order was. So, let me tell you what I did. I was literally 2 miles from here when I did that catering order. I was 2 miles away and I said, "You know what?
I'm 2 miles away. Let me go look at this thing and see how big it is." So, I drove to Best Buy and I went looked at it and I'm like, "This thing is light as I don't know what. It's really light.
I've done these before. No issues going upstairs. I don't have a problem with that." So, um, I put it in for the job and within 10 minutes I got it. So, anyways, I'm headed to the customer's house, go drop it off. It's actually on my way home, so it's perfect. So, I just added this for the day. Very easy.
All right, guys. We're uh at the customer's house and uh it was only a four mile route.
So, it's going to be these homes right over here. One of them, I think it's this one right here.
>> All right, ma'am. Yes.
>> So, I'mma um just so you know, I do have to use my appliance dolly. Is that okay with you?
>> Appliance dolly. This is Okay. It has rubber wheels. So, I just want to make >> make sure you aware of that.
>> Okay.
>> Okay.
>> Up.
This is tall. It's really light though.
Super light.
Thank you, Booby. I couldn't resist this. How are you moving?
>> Oh, it was awesome.
>> All good.
So, we just going to go up right here and then I'mma turn and go up one more little small thing. We just go one step at a time.
Uh, you mind closing my door real quick?
Thank you.
Are you ready? Just one step at a time.
Ready?
One more.
One more.
No.
Okay.
All right.
So, let me see if I can Hold on. Let me try to turn it.
real quick about right here.
>> You know what? Let me see.
>> Uh, it's a freezer. Yeah, that's pretty.
All right.
All right, guys. I do apologize. I forgot to hit So, I paused the camera because we had to the turn was too hard.
So, I ended up taking the dolly off and transitioning it to the other side, like where the other set of stairs were. Uh cuz we couldn't turn it. The platform was too narrow. So, I hit stop on my camera and I forgot to turn it back on.
So, I turned it on once we were done. I realized it was off. But anyways, uh it was pretty much the same way we took it up the first flight. Very easy. We just had to make that turn. We couldn't make it. And um so anyways, let me uh I'm in the customer's way. Let me uh get to what this video is about and uh that'll be it. But yeah, that job was definitely worth it to me. Uh freezers are very light. Uh very easy to take upstairs, especially with the appliance dolly and you have help. All right, man. Let me get to what the video is about. All right, guys. So, the whole purpose of this video is to talk about this catering order that I did directly with a restaurant. So, I'm going to just tell you what happened. So, about 8 months ago roughly, there was a um store owner that was at the restaurant and he was helping me load my van. And when I opened the doors to my van, he was like, "Oh man, I never seen the inside of a van like this." He didn't realize how big it is. I have so much space in here.
And he also was complimenting how organized the van looked. like, "Man, it looks really good." All that stuff. And so he asked me if, you know, I do Door Dash or, you know, whatever, like, "How do I get these orders?" And then he asked me if I have my own business. And I said, "Yes, I do. I have my own business." And so he started asking me questions about it. And I I kind of explained to him that, you know, I I work directly with clients. I do work some gig apps and stuff to stay busy, but but you know, I told him I have a booking process. You know, I'm very professional at, you know, what I do.
And so he's like, "Oh man, do you have a card?" He's like, "Uh, because I'm looking to like change it up. Like I I don't want to keep using these uh catering platforms." I said, "Absolutely." I gave him my card. And I was thinking to myself, "He ain't going to call me. What would he call me for?"
And so months went by, literally like 8 months. And uh he reached out to me yesterday and I'm going to play the voicemail. He left me a voicemail. I was busy. I couldn't answer my phone. I was working, but he he left a voicemail. And this is the voicemail.
>> Hey, Chris. Uh, this is D.
>> I had met you uh previously um when you did a uh catering delivery for us in the past. Um I got your card from you. I wanted to see if you had availability to deliver an order for me tomorrow. I have a really good customer I've done business with for years. Um and I'm just unable to do it myself tomorrow and I've been wanting to try you out anyway. So, if you don't mind, man, give me a call.
My number's >> again, my name is All right. Thank you.
>> So, that was the message that he left me. And so, I got super excited because I didn't, like I said, a lot of times people will say, "Oh, I'll reach out to you. I'll call you all that." And they usually don't in this situation. He he was serious. He's dead serious. So, just so you know, this is the franchise owner of a restaurant. This the big dog, the top dog. And um so we talked a little bit yesterday and he's like, you know, I'm tired of these third party catering platforms. They charge too much. They charge a percentage like easy cater stuff like it's like 30% something like that and they're eating away his profits and they're sending, you know, random people. He's had people that showed up with no bags to have people that deliver the food late. Uh he's had people with dirty nasty cars. I mean, you name it.
You name it. People that no show, didn't show up at all. Like that's what these restaurants are going through. And that's what a lot of you guys don't think about. You got to think about that. And so that's why I always do my best, you know? I I give the best service I can. And he noticed that. I pick up from that restaurant quite a bit. And he noticed that. He's he's there a lot. So he's taking a mental note of the people that are showing up on time and have all the right equipment. They're putting the food in bags, all that stuff. He takes a mental note. So he liked my vehicle and he seen me in my uniform, my uniform shirt. And so he likes the professionalism. And so he chose me. And what he's trying to do is work directly with me. That's what he wants. He does not want to send his catering orders through Easy Cater, all these other platforms. And he has a right to do that. He is the owner. He's a franchise owner. He does not have to use Easy Cater, Door Dash, Grubhub, none of that stuff.
He does not have to use them. So he has that option. And so, not only does he want to save money by working directly with a someone like me, but he knows, and trust me, he wants someone that he knows when he puts the order out, it's going to get delivered on time. It's going to be properly set up, which what that's what I did today. This was a full setup. And this is his one of his top clients. This is a client that spends thousands of dollars, so he wants to take care of them. So, he wants to send the best driver he can. And so, I took care of them. I had a smile on my face.
I made everybody smile. I set up the food properly, the way they wanted, and I was on time. That's all he wants. And so, I provide that for him. And so, he is working out a way where I can do the order for him, the orders that he want, and start slowly doing less and less easy cater and more giving those orders to me. And the best thing about it is I network. I have other drivers that I work with. So that is the great news for them too because I can't be everywhere at once. And I told him that I can't be everywhere at once. You're going to have three catering orders all at the same time. So I told him I have a trustworthy group that if I can't do it, it'll get done still. You can still send it to me and it'll get done. So this is what I'm working with. And I'm going to end with this cuz I don't have to harp on this very long. This is 100% the work of my CEO. 100%. He is the one that opens doors like this for me. I can hand my card out.
I can make Facebook posts, all kind of stuff. But he decides who calls me, who comes my way, what doors are open to me.
100%. This is him. So, I'm very grateful of that. And this is why I say I like to run a faith-based business. There's no stress because at any point in time, a opportunity might come my way because of him. And I'm super excited because I literally was just talking about this. I was saying, "How much better would it be if I could do catering orders without the middleman?" It felt weird doing this order because there was no app. I didn't have to hit arrive. I didn't have to worry too much about the time. Uh, you know, and it just it felt so different.
There was absolutely no stress at all.
No stress. Um, and it's more fun. And then the best part, he paid me directly.
He gave me cash. Cash money before I even took the order. So, that's what we're going to figure out. We're going to figure out how we're going to do payment. We're going to figure out how we're going to book these jobs. We're going to figure out, you know, pretty much we're going to work with each other to figure out what's the best for him, what's the best price, how can I save him money at the same time, make what I need, and get these jobs done. That's what we're going to figure out together.
So, I'm I'm super excited and honored and I'm telling you, I'm literally like 7 days away from getting deactivated from dispatch. And I turned dispatch on.
I was going to do an order just to avoid that. And this is what's out there. This is the type of orders that's out there.
bunch of car orders. So, I'm like, you know what? I don't really care if I get deactivated. I don't care. You know, I'm focused on my business. I'm focused on growing it. And I just prove to myself that I can grow my business. I can literally start a catering service for myself without the middleman. No third party. They're not taking no money. I don't have to deal with them taking a job away from me because they don't know what type of vehicle I have and don't have enough sense to ask me. I don't have to worry about uh tips and hoping that somebody tips me because the base pay is $10 on Expedite. It's $10. That's the base pay. So, if the customer doesn't tip, you get 10 bucks. The good thing Expedite will add $10 to it. So, they will always give you a minimum of a $10 tip. So, if the customer doesn't tip at all, they will throw $10 in there.
So, you'll make 20 bucks minimum. You know what my base rate is for this company? $40. That's the base pay.
That's not including any tips or any other fees. So, it's going to be so much better for me. I'm excited and I'm willing to go all in on this because I like doing catering orders and you can literally work two hours a day and make a lot of money because all his order he said between 10 and 12 that's the orders.
So, during that time I'll be busting my tail making as much as I can just setting up food. So, anyways, that's all I'm going to tell you for now. I'll give you more information, but man, I'm so excited. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. So grateful. Faith-based business.
I highly recommend that. Don't trust in yourself. Trust in him. That's it. Y'all have a good one. Catch you on the next one.
