Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) is a degenerative brain disease caused by repeated head impacts, commonly affecting athletes in contact sports like football. The disease progresses through stages, with stage three frequently causing dementia. Research shows that 70% of head impacts occur during practice, not games, making practice modifications crucial for prevention. While equipment like Guardian caps may reduce rotational acceleration by only 2%, delaying the introduction of contact sports and reducing head impacts over a lifetime are more effective prevention strategies. The NFL has been criticized for not funding CTE research, focusing instead on concussion treatment.

Not being uh willing to give up a first round pick as of right now. That means they're not particularly close. Want to win free groceries for a year and great prizes like $500 in Shaw's gift cards? >> Well, you're right. It's a beautiful morning, Mego, once again. And the Braves gotied last night, Curtis, which we can get to >> in in a little bit. I want to get I want to get to that, but I am I'm alarmed by the Rapaort report which states that the that the Patriots and and the Eagles are not relatively close when it comes to AJ Brown.
>> Don't fall for it.
>> Yeah. I mean, >> don't fall for it.
>> June 1st is what? Monday. Monday.
>> Monday. It's Monday, coach. So, it's supposed to be AJ day.
>> Yeah. So, I mean, Monday, >> what happened to you with the prom or something? You had a date and they backed out, wasn't there? Yes. So, I mean, maybe this you're just having like, you know, a a bad memory.
>> I give you till Tuesday.

>> She did not.
>> That will kill you.
>> That was a part of the problem.
>> Yeah, the curfew back then and senior in high school. Yeah, that'll ruin a lot of >> your curfew.
>> Uh like I don't know. I had my dad's car. It's probably 11:30. Might have been midnight. I don't know.
>> Do kids still do curfews? Cuz they don't leave the house anymore.
>> Yeah, I don't think so.
>> Especially if it's a senior prom. I don't think there's really a curfew there then anyways.
>> Is that why you took Is that why you took Jen to Disney World for your honeymoon? you were like trying to relive younger days.
>> It's probably I mean most likely a therapist would say that all these things are related somehow.
>> But it is um >> it's it's teenage trauma, childhood trauma. It's Yes. It is alarming to to not not in like like all right I'm overly like all right I'm hitting the panic button but if I don't hear something by Tuesday then I'll start to go like all right could this open the door for some other team to come in and if what's the issue clearly I think it's we all know are the Patriots not willing to give up a first round pick and is there going to be another team who swoops in and goes you know unfortunately like your prom night hey listen I can give up a first round pick and stay out after 11:30.
>> Yeah. I mean, I thought after the Mike Vrabel press conference yesterday, the way he answered question number one, >> I was I felt fully confident that it's a done deal and AJ Brown is coming here.
But the the reporting, I guess, gives me pause. But >> are you saying Vrabel's been flirting with him?
>> I don't know. I was I'm sure we'll get into it. We get into it now if you want.
But I thought the press conference yesterday with the coach was interesting. I there were a more I felt like there were more questions about his personal life than we thought there were going to be going going or some thought there were going to be going into it.
>> Mego and I said no no questions about I didn't hear the press conference so I don't know exactly what was said but I was like >> we can play back for you later if you want.
>> I thought it was like all football stuff.
>> We were way off. Really?
>> We were way off. He got like at least three questions about it. He got asked by I believe >> Ben Volan that are you ever going to miss another football activity in the rest of your life?
>> Are you ever are are you going to be here for everything? And he said >> I don't know. I can't guarantee that.
Yeah.
>> And he said he loved his family, loved his wife, Jem.
>> So yeah, he he he definitely got peppered about it.
>> So does it look like all right, that's it then. It's a wrap. We're now moving on from this. I think he did a good job from a PR perspective of every question that he got for that. Turning it back to football in the second half >> being like, "Hey, we're here to focus on football." So, uh, he was very like respectful like, "Hey, you guys have a job to do. I'll answer your questions, but we got to turn it back to football now."
>> He was some of the answers that he gave, no offense, I when it came to football questions, I felt like he was doing his best to try to extend them out to four to five minute answers. filibuster for sure.
>> There was a full filibuster. Uh but >> it was like when Bellichic took nine minutes to describe long snapping.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> But no, I honestly, you know, not like it matters and not like he cares what I think, but I thought if you give him a grade, that was an A. I thought I thought both the media and he did a great job. I thought the media asked responsible questions. I know Mego was making light of the the way in which Volan asked if you'll ever miss another event, but that was very newsworthy.
That was the pull out quote from the interview, which was >> not do not use the pull out phrase, please.
>> I I I if I start slurring my words, I'm not drinking. I'm just my mouth is whatever. But um >> yeah, how did your uh mouth stuff go?
>> Great. It was awesome.
>> Sorry. I mean surgery.
>> It was it was um no mouth stuff, just surgery, unfortunately. Um >> so wait, you had lost the tooth, correct? Well, so no, basically what they found is when the tooth came out, there was a much bigger issue.
>> And so that I have had to have bone grafting done and I had to extract because I used to grind my teeth a lot when I was a kid.
>> Anyway, and so one of the signs bedwedding grinding of teeth means you're a psycho.
>> Serial killer, which is a lot of people who listen to the show, in fact, many who listened yesterday felt like you were.
>> So um Oh yeah, I'm psycho cuz I think a guy that sleeps with kids is a weirdo.
>> Please don't start. People were worried about me. They were like, "Oh my god, is Curtis going to come after you?"
>> People worried about both of you.
>> Never worry about me.
>> Yeah. Never worried about >> Always worried about me.
>> Yeah, I'll be fine.
>> Uh James PLBI will give you a call. Um so the um No. So yeah. So anyway, so yesterday was the culmination of everything else. It was like two hours and of course it's an hour behind. So you're like sitting there. It is the longest. I mean, believe me, there are people being treated for cancer and things that are actually life-threatening, but sitting in a waiting room before getting your mouth torn open is not a lot of fun. But we live in the greatest place in the world for healthcare.
>> I love the doctors, the nurses, everybody was awesome. So, easy peasy.
Back to work.
>> All right. Are you on anything good or like >> Oh, I don't get anything good, Greg.
Unfortunately, I get ibuprofen. They don't trust me with the oxy, I'll tell you that. So, rightfully so. But I'm happy to not be on oxy.
>> All right. Well, I'm sure that the Red Sox win >> gave you gave you a little bit of pleasure.
>> It really did. I mean, it was it was lovely. I think Connelly early, they should trade him today.
>> Yeah. I mean, so I I got to give Chad Tracy a little bit of credit. Stuck with basically the same lineup and went with guys who are actually hitting the baseball over those that may be defensively a better option. So I I you know it's it's a win and but it's a win against a good baseball team and we have to be looking apparently right now the way things are here we have to be looking for small victories and so I think you got a small victory with that win last night.
>> See I'm not looking for the small victory. So I'm kind of like all right you'll peique my interest when you rip off four or five wins in a row. Well, you have to start with one as Lou Maloney said on the show just days ago.
>> Well, we've seen them get one win before. So, that's not the issue. It's it's when because in order for you to really like I think bring people back in, you're going to you're going to have to show that you can make a nice even even uh Trey Trey talked about it uh where he said, "We're going to have to rip off some wins more than a series.
we're going to have to rip off five, six wins in a row to kind of get back into this. So, until you kind of get to that point, one win here means nothing if you then lose your next two or three games.
>> They haven't won more than three in a row, right?
>> No, that's it. Three.
>> That is crazy.
>> Two sweeps is all they've had all season long.
>> I was just doing a quick Google search and I don't know, maybe if I just went straight to AI chat, it would let me know. Does anybody else in MLB right now have a shorter win streak? Like sweeping a series is kind of a given for any any team like you should sweep one series.
Does anybody else have shorter than a three threeame win streak in all of MLB?
>> So I don't know if there's a team that has never swept that would that would >> No, I think you mean just this year, right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I would I would I would if I had to bet my glass dollar and I would say >> I know it's only almost June.
>> Everybody has at least >> Everybody's got to have swept at least one series at this point in the season >> with the exception of that guy that was weakened at Bernie's in the shortened season. Who was the manager of that?
Renicky. I don't know if that team sweep anybody over for >> No, I'm saying just this season so far, right?
>> Do does anybody else only have a threeame win streak? I'm on baseball reference and I will try and find >> Yeah, I would imagine I would imagine that that that they >> because that's not because to your point like this team does not build momentum series to series. They come out of the Royal series where you're like well the Royals suck >> but they did what they could against the Royals and they look great and then they just completely collapse against the Twins and then it's split right now with the Braves. So what do you make of them?
>> Well, we are going to take what we can get when it comes to Red Sox and this morning it's a win and you can talk about that all morning long. Talk about what Mike Vrabel said yesterday, day one of OTAAS all morning long. Talk about what Drake May said yesterday among everything else that is coming up this morning, including our leads in just a couple of minutes. They said it at 7:30 this morning and that will include what Son said about what the Socks did last night. And we will talk, speaking of the Red Sox, talk to Craig Brezlo, the chief baseball officer of the Boston Red Sox coming up at 9:00 with the front office report this morning and he'll notes at 9:20. So leave one of those on the Odyssey app at any time this morning.
We'll play the best ones back later.
When it comes to leads, Wiggy has something to get off his chest this morning uh about what Mike Vrabel said yesterday or actually about what a player said about Mike Vrabel. So, we'll get to that when we get to Wiggy's lead and we will begin with the leads in exactly two minutes, no longer on the Greg Hill Show at WI.

Hey, on the road later on today and heading to Vermont for a road Show number three that will happen tomorrow at the Marina in Brattleboro, Vermont. And I am excited about Bar 580 tonight for pregame with Miller Lightite, which starts at 6:30. And it I'm excited because I have been to neither of these locations. And Vermont, uh, we are on I think we're on are we on three frequencies or two frequencies up in these in the Green Mountain State, Curtis? Do you know?
>> Uh oh, man. Way to spring this on me.
>> I think it's I think it's I think it's three.
>> I think it's three. Yep.
>> So, we are we are partners with uh the fine people Great Eastern Broadcasting up there and looking forward to seeing everybody. Our our local uh Miller Light local legend on the show tomorrow will be none other than the governor of Vermont, Phil Scott. Wow.
>> Who will join us at 8.
>> Okay.
>> And is, I believe, a former uh race car driver. So, I am looking forward to the governor who will join us and all of you who will be out and about tonight at bar 580 and tomorrow. Can we open the window world uh Boston weather window for Curtis because it is absolutely beautiful this morning. Curtis.
Curtis, what do we got out there today?
forecast for Vermont for tomorrow, all that stuff.
>> Perfect. Uh right now in downtown Boston, sunny, 60°, afternoon high, perfect, 75. A couple showers possibly popping around, but nothing too bad. I looked like you guys were at uh Granite Links yesterday.
>> Yes. Uh I got to get the golf swing ready for for the match two, which is in July down at Foxwoods. And it was not happening yesterday, Curtis.
>> Oh well. Well, Granite Granite Lance is great because if you play like crap, you walk over to Crossing Nines, boom, you have a good meal. Well, we did have some appetizers. I I was I I tried to go healthy with the whipped feta, right? Uh somebody ordered a flatbread and then the whole set was all downhill after that. That is it, but I had to try the flatbread. I mean, >> I hate to break it to you. Whipped feta not exactly healthy.
>> Well, for me it is.
>> I was wondering about that.
>> It was the only healthy choice really when it comes to appetizing.
>> That's what I was like, "Mom, I'm going to get mashed potatoes instead of fries." She's like, "Okay, >> it's better than chicken fingers and pizza." So, I mean, if you're going to substitute one or the other.
>> I looked at the entire list. Right.
>> Uh used to they used to have the hummus and and the crude.
>> Uh and that was, you know, that's moved off of the menu. So I >> smart choice.
>> I mean, you know, >> cuz the flatbread will get you cuz you can't just eat one piece, one slice of uh flatbread.
>> You're cooked. Uh but tonight in Brattle Bro, lovely 67° looks beautiful up there. And guess what? Sunset, cuz I guess it's west and a little bit north >> is 8:20 tonight up there. 10 minutes later than here. Excellent.
>> Party it up till 8:30. You'll be fine.
It'll still be bright out.
>> Okay.
>> Um I don't know if uh Bar 580 has been informed about the celebrity named cocktails or not, but we'll see if we can get one for you this evening.
>> I I was glancing over them.
>> I think we might be entering dark and stormy season. How do you feel about that?
>> All right.
>> I I like what is very difficult to find, which is a dark and skinny with diet ginger beer, because that ginger beer can really be full of sugar. But yeah, I love a dark and stormy during the summer.
>> I mean, you're having cocktails, so >> we don't That doesn't mean that I need to overload it with worry about the health part of it if I were you.
>> Uh there are very healthy cocktails out there.
>> Okay. All right.
>> Have them substitute the ginger for uh like a soda water if that's what you >> But then it's not a dark and stormy anymore.
>> Well, I mean then, you know, maybe it's a dark and slightly stormy.
>> All right. Uh let's get if we can right to it, Tom.
This is the Greg Hill Show. Time now for the lead.
Some people call me the space cowboy.
Yeah.
Some call me the gangster of love.
Some people call me Moraice cuz I speak of the pompetus of love.
People talking about me, baby.
>> Well, Tom, that is Steve Miller Band and the Joker and leads this morning are brought to you by Subaru. And this spring, it is time to love yourself a new Subaru. Find your local authorized Subaru retailer at subaru of new england.com.
Tom, your lead this morning.
>> Good morning, Greg. And Adam Silver was on the Pat McAfee Show yesterday and he said a few things that I was very excited to hear. The one that stood out to me the most, they are going to start moving to very shortly having AI help with with replays, things like out-of- bounds calls, those black and white calls where it's either one or the other. And I personally am all for the robot refs. I think if we can be 100% perfect with our officiating, why not be? So, I am looking forward to however this may come in the NBA and then hopefully every other sport.
>> Yeah, I like it. I Is there some kind of an AI sensor? a microchip, if you will, that we could place into the body of SGAA that can determine whether or not somebody else actually made contact with him when he is flopping every other every other opportunity.
>> You're going to need that.
>> Couldn't this solve that though?
>> Could they?
>> Like because the the manner in which the games are now umpired, you almost never see the the ump screaming at all the other I mean the manager going on the field and berating umpires because there's a quick system. Yeah.
>> Which games are faster because of the pitch clock, but they're also faster because you don't have some guy losing his mind for seven minutes on, you know, the bottom of the second.
>> Yeah, but the ABS though, are you talking about that?
>> Well, I'm just saying that if there was a mechanism, I don't know how it would be done. In the NBA, that would be similar. It would negate the need to flop because you're not trying to get a human to change their mind. You're getting a computer system that's predetermined about what it is and what is not a foul.
>> Well, to Greg's point, everybody would have to be wearing some type of senses on them, >> right? I'm sure they could do it. I mean, they could.
>> So, every play is wearing senses in a uniform. You're wearing one right now.
>> Elon Elon Musk can plant a microchip in your head that can help you walk if you're if you're paralyzed. Like I like they're that close on that. They were I saw something yesterday where you if you're somebody who has trouble when it comes to reading and you need to wear reading glasses, your uh what do they call those? your uh sighted your readers or what like you will not have to do that anymore because they have basically like a some kind of eye drop that's going to improve your vision like >> it's going to be because nobody's going to read in the future.
>> No, it's like it's >> so I got I got I got readers. Yeah, right. That's one thing. That's an eye drop to help me with readers.
>> But I guess you're going to have to get like Okay, you're going to have to All the uniforms are going to have to have sensors in them for every player to know.
>> You can put them in all the ads that already stitched on them. Yeah. To know if there is actual physical contact or not, if they're being done by AI because a human could see, okay, he touched them versus you're going to have to pick that up in other areas. So, I guess if you can put um sensors on every uniform to know whether or not a guy got touched, but then once you touch those sensors, aren't they going off?
>> Yeah. Here's the other thing is that like there is a certain flow to the game and I don't think that I I haven't loved the officiating in the playoffs right now.
>> But do you want the refs to call everything >> every foul every little thing?
>> Think about the stoppage >> in your game product.
>> Right.
>> Well, I think this is something similar how they did the ABS and the miners first. This is something they'd probably do in the D-League for a couple seasons before they introduced it.
>> GLeague, >> GLeague, whatever it's called. So, I would say that they'll you'll be seeing this in the main red clause before you'll see it at the uh TD Garden >> because remember there's a lot of contact in the NBA that's not called fouled, right? So now your sensors have to know be able to decipher all right what's good contact versus contact that needs to be fouled and AI it's just it'd be very very >> I'm sure in the end it would be a mix it would not just be computers but would everybody be okay with the fact that if there were a few more fouls called and nobody was flopping >> yes I would be >> I mean flopping sucks.
>> Yeah it does. All right Tom nice lead from you on your last day producing the show before Shimes return tomorrow.
Curtis, are we saying your idea on the air about Shine or >> I think we should say it on the air so people know what we're doing.
>> Okay.
>> So, my idea is that nobody asks about his honeymoon.
>> Oh, that's mean.
>> It is.
>> But it's like the It's like the rookie who hits the home run and nobody gives him a high five and everybody laughs about it.
>> Why are you so evil?
>> It's not evil. It's funny. He's going to be waiting to tell a story and we're going to be talking about >> I get it. Being being mean is definitely funny.
>> We need everybody to buy in though.
callers, texters, >> everybody who is watching the show on Twitch or YouTube, everybody has to buy it. All right, >> more leads coming up, including one from Mega, which may anger some of our local elected officials. That is the rest of the leads coming up next.
We either Hello.

a rare Fair win for the Boston Red Sox last night, which is good news. And you can talk about that all day long here on Boston Sports Original Wii. We will talk about that with Craig Brezlo at 9 on this morning's show, the Red Sox front office report. And I he is all over the place. He was on Nessen after the game night before last Curtis and then sat down with a bunch of media peeps and so I don't uh I'm not sure what the intention there is when it comes to Craig Brezlo, but he is certainly talking a lot right now.
>> Well, the speakers were working on him.
That's what >> Yeah. I I I don't Stop putting some, you know, like we were talking about earlier, like show us that you can go on a five, six, you know, seven game win streak and then we'll buy into what you might be selling us.
>> I might be evil, but I have been doing due diligence for me.
>> Who?
>> So, the only team I found so far are the Raphael Devils le Giants that also have a max threeame win streak so far this season. Good. Uh, the Rockies, which are the worst team in baseball, have somehow won four straight at some point this year. So, >> so the Rockies have a better winning streak than you do, >> right?
>> Yes.
>> Good job.
>> So, my guess is in the American League, there's no other team, but I'll keep powering through.
>> That's Hey, that's that's great right there.
>> Yeah, that's all you really need. I mean, because and that's the thing, you know, this team will get us in and and like we've talked about whether it was the Kansas City series where you sweep them and you're like, "All right, we're getting in." And then you go out and you get swept. I don't I think people are now at the frustration point of and we're asking whether it's Brezbot or we or Tracy like do you believe this team is capable of winning more than three games in a row? Like do you believe this team is capable of putting together a six-game winning streak?
Something that you're going to potentially need to maybe get you closer to being back in the mix or are you going to win two or three games here in a row and then lose? how close we were wigs. And I agree. I mean, they suck.
But Friday, they're up 63 at home >> against the Twins about to win four straight.
>> And I think that whole weekend's different, >> right, >> if they win that game. I know there's no evidence that you could, you know, point to, but like >> they're just they both lack talent and hutzbah.
They don't have balls and they can't hit them very far, which is kind of a rough combination.
Well, he said after firing Alex Kora and a bunch of his staff, he said that he still believed this team could make a deep playoff run. And so >> I want to know this morning when we talked to him at nine if he still feels that way or if he's like, >> remember when Saddam Hussein had that guy who spoke for him and like the uh Scuds were landing in in the background right behind him and the guy was like, "Yeah, we're winning this whole thing."
>> Is that bad? That's kind of That's kind of like what Brelo That's kind of like >> Back Dad Breeslo.
>> Yes.
>> Uh yeah. I Wigs, I got a question for you.
>> Mhm.
>> Hot seat day for you cuz we all know what happened when he asked Cora, >> who's at Brebbot? Yeah.
>> No, I think Brebbot's safe. I think Brebbot's safe. I think you know John, >> if they don't make the playoffs, he might not be.
>> Um if they're not a wild card team, he might not be, >> right? But I think John Henry's probably figuring out like, all right, if I fire Brebbot, I got to hire somebody new, then there's potentially a lockout. Do I just wait till after we get all of the, you know, CBS uh CB the the CBA talks out of the way and then say, "All right, Brebbot, I'm giving you a year, and if you can't figure that out with your new manager, that's it." All right, we were in the middle of leads and that means we get one now from Chris Curtis. Curtis, good morning. So, you mentioned at the start of the show, the Ian Rampaport report that the Patriots and the uh Eagles are not close on a deal for AJ Brown because no matter where AJ Brown is moving, the Patriots are not going to give up a first round pick and then the Eagles will not move him for less. That was on Pat McAfee with Adam Shfter. They were on together.
Now there is redundancy all across our business which is being eliminated as we speak. But specifically the NFL network is now ESPN. So you have two of everything.
And my question is how can a network allow those two to simultaneously stand.
Not like they should lose their jobs.
Not those two reports.
Like one is literally been saying for months the deal's done.
>> Yeah.
>> The other is on the show with that guy.
Mhm. I'm sure they get along swimmingly and and Ian Raport says it's not close.
>> Is it possible that the insiders actually have no idea what is going on on the inside and are >> But one of those reports is that'd be like you and I going on the like writing in the Boston Globe that two people are winning the same election.
>> Well, I think the most interesting thing if I were Pat McAfee, I'd set them up against each other, >> right? Why is what you're hearing different than what he's hearing? Talk to each other.
>> Well, because they're hearing it from different people, you know how that goes.
>> Yeah. So, yeah, but let them let them have a source off, >> right?
>> If you're having two people that both work for your company and they have completely different perspectives on what's going on, I want to hear what the disconnect between those two perspective is. Not just here's his report and now here's his report.
>> And if I run ESPN, I know it's entertainment first, but it is a news agency at some level. I would bring them into my office if I ran the NFL department and I'd say, "You don't have to tell the public this, but what are your sources on this? What why are you right and he's wrong?"
>> My biggest issue with the Rapaort report yesterday is that it throws a whole wrench into the Seapport scoop.
>> Yeah.
>> Like why is AJ Brown looking for a place in the Seapport if he is not coming to the New England?
>> Could that be good for you though if that scoop was wrong?
>> Right. Right.
>> Could this come around and be a good look for you and Big P?
>> Right. Could be that big Jim could be a big >> big P from Big P not being an informant for you.
>> No. No. Yeah. I have said nothing to Big P after that. I'm I'm so nervous cuz I feel like he is an informant.
>> I feel like he is sharing information he shouldn't be with others. But we've seen in the world eat >> we've we've seen in the world of scoops whether it's you know cocoa bombs or other type of scoops like >> scoop smith. So like when somebody goes oh >> not mine.
>> Well no not yours.
>> Oh wow. I set the I I I set a record when it comes to the scoop world.
>> But like DJ Brown, >> we should have chef on and have him tell you have you tell him that you're better at scoops are >> the AJ Brown and the Seapport scoop.
>> Well, that's just somebody giving us some information. How do we know how true that information was or where they were getting it from?
>> You know, like did somebody actually see AJ Brown with the real estate agent?
>> Right. Where's the photo of him at the airport?
>> Right. had it the Herz counter.
>> That's right. I mean >> I mean in all sincerity, Mitch wrote this in the Twitch ship, but it's like of all places that you would never buy unless you absolutely had to, it's today in the seapport. There's a millionaire's tax. It's insanely expensive. It is the top of the market. Breakfast costs $82.
>> Yeah. Well, it is a little bit bothersome, >> but Curtis is right. maybe don't buy into it, but it's a little bit bothersome if they are, >> how did you describe it? Very far apart.
Yes. Uh when it comes to compensation, >> I give you the Tuesday. If I if it ain't done by Tuesday, then all right, there's going to be some issues and potentially another team could to swoop in and get him.
>> But if it's a second or a first, is that very far apart?
>> Only if you think only if you think you're really going to suck next year.
Like if if it's if we're talking the 2027 first, which is what it sounds like they're talking about, >> um then you got to think like, okay, if it's going to be like a top five, six pick, >> terrible.
>> Yeah. But I think that both teams know if you're new if you're the uh Eagles, you know that New England's probably going to be good and you're and that pick is going to be somewhere between, you know, 22 to 32 somewhere in that.
>> So who cares? They just got a developmental tackle with that kind of pass.
>> That's why I say I don't that's why I'm wondering how much and we've heard Vable talk about this before how they look at first round draft picks and how they hold those to a higher standard.
>> Yeah.
>> Doesn't the NFL also kind of need it to be a first round pick given how other teams view the way in which the Eagles and Patriots have been doing this behind closed doors for a long time like that there has been some tampering going on.
So, if the Patriots are viewed to get a bargain, that would make those yells even louder.
>> Yeah. All right, Curtis, thank you.
Speaking of Roman Anthony, as we were with regard to my scoop on this radio station yesterday afternoon, with Rich and Ken and Ted Johnson, Chad Tracy talked a little bit about Roman Anthony and we will get to that during They Said It coming up at 7:30 this morning.
This afternoon, Socks and Braves, the Hey, hey, hey.

I would guess around 6:30 or so. We got a socks game to watch.
>> Yeah.
>> Uh >> Spurs and >> we got we got a we got a hoops game to watch this evening. So, we cannot wait to hang out with you. And then tomorrow morning we will be at the marina which is also in Brattleboro for road show number three. And we will be joined our local legend is the governor of Vermont Phil Scott who will join us at 8 tomorrow. And I believe uh we haven't done it yet during road show season but a road show edition of truth or fraudulent uh with Wiggy about Vermont tomorrow morning. Aaron is from Brattleboro. Hello, Aaron.
>> Hey, how's it going, guys?
>> What's up?
>> Hey, so uh I work for a cannabis company here in Bradboroough, and I wanted to get some samples for Wiggy while he's up here because, you know, you're not allowed to cross state lines with the stuff. So, >> all right.
>> I wanted to see I wanted to see what he liked to smoke and I also wanted to extend an offer to the whole crew to come tour if you guys have never seen a grill before.
>> Well, he'll meet Wiggy will meet you in the parking lot of the CVS.
>> Wait, are you really not allowed to go state lines? Is that still >> I like the oils. I think that >> that's still true, Curtis. It's federal.
It's considered federal.
>> S. Wait, I thought Trump was going to fix that.
>> No, Trump said he's going to fix a lot of things. We're waiting on that.
>> God, at least gas is cheap.
>> We're waiting on We're waiting on where we could take our weed anywhere. Hold on. He's dealing with the aliens first.
Like, can you let the man get the >> I I know I'm I know I'm a nut and I'm I'm America first. like a like that's some pjorative. But um why wouldn't we worry about taking marijuana across state lines before we worry about the straight of Hormuz? Is that possible?
Could that be something that we you know especially a guy that ran on America first?
>> Yeah.
>> You would think I'm waiting on I'm waiting on my weed to be legal in different states and I'm waiting on my LTC to be able to take me no matter where I go in the country.
It comes from the earth, bro.
>> I am still waiting.
>> It should It should be. It's natural.
>> Do I have to bring cashies tonight? Uh cuz we're going to this uh bar is a bar 58 bar 5880.
>> What do you mean you have to bring cash?
>> Cuz remember last time I got the tab last time I meant Right. I know, but I felt I felt a little bad.
>> It should be on you.
>> That's what I'm saying. Do I have to pick up the tab tonight?
>> Yes, I would.
>> Well, guess what then? Hey, uh Odyssey, we're going to need a little bit of advancement. I would appreciate if if you >> and Greg, I know we work with it every day. I see no side effects to excessive weed use.
>> Listen, leaded is it?
>> I've never wrapped myself around a toilet bowl in the morning.
>> Isn't it supposed to make you calm and relaxed? And if so, what happened yesterday?
>> There's different strands, right?
>> Sometimes in the no matter how good the weed is, >> if the cake is crazy, >> there are certain things when you know just you can't be >> Which strand was that?
>> The one from yesterday. Can't really say that on air. It's called the angry Michael Jackson strain that you were on yesterday.
>> My mother-in-law loved it.
>> Oh, she did.
>> She texted me last night cuz she went back to listen on the Odyssey app and she said Wiggy was totally on point. She loves you and she loved she completely agreed with your argument.
>> Tell your mother-in-law I love her too.
>> Shout out Jules.
>> Shout out Jules.
>> Listen, grandpa is very popular with the grandmas. So just >> he's taking my side of the street. You know what it is?
>> He's taken.
>> Just because the age says 51, the engine is like 28.
>> Well, that's still 20 years too old for MJ.
>> Jeez.
>> Jeez.
>> He was never found guilty on those crimes.
>> Please, can we get Can we continue with leads? And here is one from Mego. Mego, good morning.
>> Good morning. Okay, I need to know if I'm living in a bubble here. I probably am, but I live in Boston and I I saw something today announcing that at 2 p.m. today, you can register for the World Cup fan festival on City Hall Plaza. And there's going to be all these events from June 12th to June 27th. This is not one of the uh like town festivals that we talked about. Curtis has joked a lot about the one that is going on in Lexington >> allegedly. um the one that's not happening in Framingham because they felt like it wasn't enough money.
This is supposed to be like one of the biggest events in the world and it's descending at least partially on Boston in less than 3 weeks >> and I don't know about you guys like I just don't feel very much energy around it at all.
>> Like I I was out I was out with a friend last night. Didn't come up at all. Like I and I know this is dumb. This is like anecdotal, but I'm asking you honestly, >> have you have you talked >> in a social setting about the World Cup >> in the last six weeks?
>> Has anyone been like, "Man, we got to get our World Cup tickets like, hey, did you hear about the FanFest on City Hall Plaza?" Like, even my friends with little kids >> who I would think this is a dream for them. Okay, they live in the city or city adjacent and they're like, "This is a free event to bring our kids to." Mhm.
>> Their kids play soccer and I haven't heard anything about it. Like, think about this. I don't know if you if you know I don't know if you've gotten this with James yet, Curtis. Something happens when kids go to school where all of a sudden they come home and they're obsessed with messy.
>> Yes.
>> What is that? What is that? By the way, my my 8-year-old nephew comes home and he's like, I need a messy jersey. I need messy backpack. And it's like, who taught you about Messi? And yet the World Cup I I feel like there's the the biggest news around it is we might get 3:00 a.m. bar extension. Ed Flynn is against it by the way.
>> And commuter rail >> is changing.
>> Still too early. You got to give it a week out. And and that was that was that I was considering that for a lead. I have another one so we could talk about that. Now, the the state legislature is considering there's a bill that's been filed >> allowing bars to stay open all summer long, by the way, till the end of August till 3:00 a.m.
>> All right. I mean, I'm with that.
>> If not, if if they pass it, >> Uhhuh.
>> then that is one small step forward when it comes to the the Nannyville that we that we live in.
>> I love that.
>> Not a straight line, but it is a step forward.
>> Yes, it is. And I would also say, Mego, I'm scared for you more than me is that I like we've assumed minds at times.
Like this was literally what was I I saw a news story on channel 7 above you guys on the World Cup and I'm like nobody I know has talked about it and for all the reasons you listed like the only people that I know that are into it are from Scotland and so it's like Scotland's coming in the world. You know what I'm saying? People that would already care.
>> I I'm genuinely asking because like I like I started saying I may live in a bubble. I probably do. I just I I care a lot about sports. I'm around a lot of people who care about sports. And it's definitely when I go to a barbecue with my in-laws or something, people are asking me, "Oh, what do you think about, you know, this Mike Frael stuff?" Like, >> that's because you're not That's cuz you're not a big big soccer fan. And like no one in America is like really focused on the American team when you'll start to notice it cuz it's not like the Super Bowl for us at least. You'll notice it a week before the actual first game when all everybody starts getting here and the city is flooded with people from all over the world. You'll start to see like, "Oh, this is pretty cool."
>> But they've already taken over Gillette Stadium. Like they're already here.
>> Boston Stadium.
>> No, no, no. I'm talking about when you actually get a lot of the people who will come in, you know, >> the fans of those teams.
>> The fans. Yes. The fans of those teams.
That's when you'll really start to notice it and that's when it'll be cool.
>> All right, Mego. Excellent lead. Thank you very much. We are going to get to Wiggy's lead. My lead coming up.
>> Um, when it comes to my lead, what is about to be done to a recently departed celebrity is the worst possible thing and and it's it's offensive to the to the memory of the man. Uh, one of the one of the greatest rock and roll performers of all time. So, we'll get to that during my lead coming up.
Heat.
Hey, Heat.
Hey, hey, hey.
Heat. Heat.
It's brought to you by Subaru of New England. After weeks of hearing that AJ Brown to New England is practically a done deal, NFL media's Ian Rapaort reported the Eagles and Patriots may actually still be negotiating on his value.
>> I just don't know that it's going to be like snap your fingers and the deal is done because the two sides are where they have been, which is the Eagles wanting a first round pick in 2027. The Patriots the most likely destination.
We'll see if someone else arises, but Patriots a most likely destination. Not being uh willing to give up a first round pick as of right now. That means they're not particularly close.

Curtis, have you seen this photo of AJ Brown in the Seapport, which um is looks like he's enjoying a seafood tower.
>> Wow.
>> With a with a local celebrity with with a with a local celebrity there. And I was >> And you can clearly see it says Seapport Boston, >> right?
>> Yes, it does. So that's impressive.
>> That is currently what is in my feed.
And >> Ben Bolan just tweeted this and said, "See, it's a done deal."
>> So Ian go >> Ian Rapaort can you know what it >> because uh cuz I have that I have that as a done deal.
>> That is the true mayor of the seapport right there.
>> Nothing moves unless Greg says so.
>> Wow. That's clearly a candid photo, too.
Somebody just caught you guys naturally.
>> You know how long you know how long I've been sitting on that scoop?
>> That is wild. Well, you weren't sitting long cuz the photo was just to arrive because there's no way that sat there like that for more than 9 seconds.
>> All right. Well, you can, if you want, watch this show every day on Twitch or on YouTube where it is brought to you by Springer Jewelers. and their spring into love engagement ring sale is happening next Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

All right, we were in the middle of leads and we have one now from Wiggy. Wiggy, good morning.
>> All right, good morning. So, I know we got they said it coming up and I don't know if this audio is going to be there, but there was something that Milton Williams said yesterday uh after practice. I know there's been a lot of videos coming out of the Patriots practicing, Drake May, and how everybody looks. But Milton Williams said about Mike Vrabel that he was back out there talking his isn't changed his attitude.
And to me that the players love that they're buying it cuz we were all thinking like what's the culture going to be like? How are the players going to receive Mike Vrabel and all that stuff and it looks and it looks like he hasn't changed who he is one bit. He's still the kind of what was the word you used yesterday? Smart.
>> Smart ass. He's still that I love that cuz that's who he is. He's still that guy out there. He's still busting his players balls about you know what might be going on in practice and that kind of thing. And so when you start to look at these players and kind of how they look at Mike Frabel, and we've heard a lot of them come to his defense over, you know, the last, you know, week, several weeks or two, you know, month, month and a half. It just shows that he's not changing who he is as a coach, maybe as a person to a certain extent. And I love that for the team because the culture was a big part of what made them successful last year. And I don't see that changing in any way. And if you're able to get a guy like AJ Brown to come in, you got guys like Milton Williams in that locker room that say, "Hey, this is how we do things here, AJ."
>> Yeah. I mean, is it your guess that that is the way most of the guys feel in the locker room about what Mike Rabel did >> or do or do you think that there are like if you look at guys who are >> super religious like a like a Trayvon Henderson, >> right? Are those guys upset with the their leader?
>> I would say this, those guys are probably the minority in the locker room. The number of those guys versus the guys that you know, you know, not that they're doing anything wild or anything like that, but just not be like super super Bible pushes are going to be like, "Hey, you know, we love Mike.
Whatever happened with him, we we we move past that." There might be just a handful of guys, but I think that the majority of you could you could see the sentiment of Milton Williams who's a leader in that locker room. And I think a lot of people are going to follow suit with kind of what he's talking about.
>> In not many ways can you compare an NFL life to your own driving to work or us here. Like they want to do well at their job. They're going to make a lot more money if the team's more successful and they're personally successful. I think everybody that plays for Mike Rael believes he's the best coach to lead this team. Not everything else is not on the table. Simply that. Do you guys agree?
>> Yes.
>> So, it's just in a way it's selfish.
It's like I don't care about that.
Whether they should or shouldn't is not really my job to tell them what they should care about. They're three to five years is your earning window wigs in the NFL. They want to maximize it and they feel they're doing so with the coach they have. They don't want it to change.
>> Yeah. I mean, I've always been since this started and the Karens have been coming at me about it, but I have always been about winning football games. And if Mike Vrabel can win football games with his football team, then that's all I care about. That's it. So, >> if there if there is a point where it affects the the the ability of this team to win, then yeah, it's going to be an issue.
But I don't like I you know Ben Volan asking him yesterday and we'll get to it during they said it but asking him about whether he knows whe whether he's going to have to miss any time or not like I I it's that none of that matters to me like it's what the team does on Sunday or Wednesday to open the season or Thursday night what whatever they whatever they do >> is is it a win and are they you know you were in a rebuild and you got to the Super Bowl. I my expectation is >> that you're going to get close again in in the second year of the rebuild. So, I I that that's it.
>> And I think most guys have a look at it like this. Most guys, they they all want to win, right? Everybody wants to win and be part of a winner, >> but at the end of the day, to like Curtis's point, the average, you know, career in the NFL is, you know, three years if you can get that. Most guys are worried about themselves. they can care less about what other guys are doing.
The whole moral thing, you throw that out the window, they they're focused on how can I capitalize on my opportunity and and make money and be able to extend my career as long as I could possibly do it. Because you got to understand, 30% of the NFL is built on undrafted free agents, guys that are always chasing that big contract.
>> They effed in chisms.
>> Yes. And so those guys are not like, "Oh, he did this. He's morally wrong."
You know, they want to win, don't get me wrong, but at the end of the day, they're trying to do everything in their power to get to that one, maybe two big contracts. They can potentially get at least one, and then say, "All right, I was able to play x amount of years and got one of those contracts." That's what most guys care about.
>> Yeah, I think the story is done. It transitions over to football now until Rousini goes on Caller Daddy >> or something like that. I'm dead that podcast.
>> I'm dead.
>> You're right. I I Is is her husband going to want her to go on Caller Daddy?
Like they seem to be staying together.
>> Yeah. With the photos that have come out recently of her out in public looking hunky dory, totally happy. Like I do wonder, okay, is her media career just totally done now, >> right? like is she because if her media career is done, we'll never hear from her. It doesn't. And then everything to me, unless some completely unpredictable bombshell comes out, everything's done now.
>> But if she goes on the podcast and details, we were in love.
>> I don't think she can do I don't think she can do that because she put herself in a poor position to do that because she doubled down on the lie. Well, maybe she does a whole uh Maya like she goes and she says, "You know what? I was trying to predict I I was trying to protect rather my family. I was trying to protect his family.
>> What we did was wrong, but I was trying to protect people." Kind of the same way that he said several weeks ago the same thing, >> right?
>> Um >> but you're right, Mo. That's the only And and that's going to be the I think that's the interesting part of what people are are waiting for. like is she just going to fade away and say I'm not going to get it back into the world of sports?
>> Was there a payment?
>> Uh to her?
>> Mhm.
>> To go away?
>> Uh I don't think so. I mean, >> if she doesn't come back, I I mean that's what I will believe.
>> Well, I think maybe maybe her and her husband had a conversation and >> that conversation's a lot better with a couple million dollars.
>> Well, husband doesn't really need that, does he?
>> He's like he's like a big executive.
Craig, do you still need millions of dollars? Yeah, >> Curtis, you always pretend that I am some sort of a a uh >> No, your Instagram does.
>> I mean, >> but that's the other more Let me The more you make, the more you spend, right? But the other side, you'd have to >> I have to I have to pay for multiple houses for multiple people on Nucket.
>> It's not easy out there.
>> Who returns to social media first, Diana Rousini or Jiren Duran?
>> Oh my goodness.
>> Yeah. I don't know. They're going to be >> a stray for Jiren Duran. She's earned them all. The other side of that, Curtis, is though, you now have to let your person know, hey, I'm about to pay a lot of money for this person to go away. That's not an easy conversation to have with your significant other. I think that it's just going to be, and Mego, you brought the point up, does she want to get back into the world of sports and entertainment? And if she does, then we're gonna hear from her.
We're gonna hear her side of the story.
And I don't think she's going to take shots of Rabel, but she's just going to open up that that wound again and people are going to be like, "Oh, and you know, qu more questions will arise." Or does she say, "You know what? I don't want any of this, and I know if I want to get back in the world, I'm going to have to talk about it. So now I'm just going to disappear and live a life that nobody knows about." Coming up, what Mike Vrabel said yesterday about his wife and and about his family and then we will get to my lead and what is being done to uh a rock and roll legend, perhaps the to the legacy of one of the greatest rock and roll talents of my lifetime is horrible. And so I will get to that during my lead. Coming up in two minutes, no longer. Next, a Uline. The prevailing opin Heat. Heat.
Hey, hey, hey.
Heat. Heat.
out.
You talked about the team being one of the things we were apologizing to. How do you feel like you've been able to mitigate, if not completely erase that distraction?
>> I mean, again, with that, uh, you know, we all have to deal with things. um you know outside of here and and my focus and and obviously the the excitement that I have for coaching uh is what is most important right now and this is a great opportunity the spring we don't have to worry about uh opponents we don't have to worry about uh you know our schedule is pretty much the same the players is has a routine each and every day in the spring is is similar um but it's just about teaching it's about teaching these guys the the scheme we talked about having some enhancements uh offensively and defensively and special teams of stuff that we did well, you know, but that we'll have to, you know, either dress up or modify slightly. So, that's what the spring time is about.
And that's that's really all we know is being able to to coach these guys and to teach them.
Everyone can see we're together as we walk on by and we fly just like birds of a feather.
I want you.
>> Well, Curtis, did the pound of fleshers get enough yesterday? Uh, >> are you talking about my orthodontist?
>> Ew.
>> Mike Greybel loves his wife, loves his family, and loves his friends. And so, um, yeah, is that is that good enough for everybody?
>> I mean, it'll never be good enough, but I think most people have kind of like because the story has died down so much, have been like, "All right, let's get to football." And that's the main focus.
>> 339 text on the Subaru of New England text line. Find your authorized Subaru retailer at subaruofwing england.com.
Female from Massachusetts here with regard to coach Vrabel. It is a personal issue. I absolutely want him as my coach this year.
>> Yeah, of course. Of course. He was coach of the year last year. Why wouldn't you want him as your coach? Like that that this shouldn't change the calculation of that. The best thing for him right now >> that the team is getting back to football so everybody can talk about Christian Gonzalez and whether he's going to be at mini camp.
>> So we have we're we're same story. We have some sort of involuntarily involuntary hold in again with the Gonza.
>> Oh, you knew that was coming though. Is that what's going on? Yeah, you know that's coming. If I if I was his agent, I'd be like, "Man, don't show up for nothing. You don't show up until they put that uh that new contract in front of you >> till they add zeros on the end of the you you we know what the market is." And see, that's the thing like we're talking about the trade for AJ Brown. We're talking about Christian Gonzalez. The thing about the NFL and I think a lot of sports is once the market's set, you know what you have to do. Like if you're the Patriots, you know you have to come off a first round pick because Jaylen Wadd set the market and AJ Brown, whether you want to say Jaylen Wadd's better, they're in the same kind of category. AJ Brown is going to cost you a first round pick. You know what the market is with Trent McDuffy who went to the Rams when it comes to a contract for a defensive back and that's what you're going to have to pay Christian Gonzalez.
you're gonna have to guarantee him more money than the Rams did, which was a hundred million dollars. So whether that's 105, 110, 101, 102, that's what you're going to have to give to Christian Gonzalez because that's what the market is for a young quarterback who's one of the best players in the league. Like, so it's right there laid out for you, >> right? I don't get it. And I honestly I far be it for me to criticize someone I love, but Tom Brady kind of ruined it for a lot of Patriots. Like Robert Craft will always lean on him. I'm sure he does in private. Like if I got Tommy to play at X, why won't Christian take Y?
>> And it's just Well, there's a million reasons, but Christian Gonzalez is not Tom Brady and he is the best. I view him as one of the top two to three quarters in the NFL.
>> And players didn't like argue that he's the best.
>> Right. Of course.
>> So, you know what the numbers, right?
So, like pay the man, >> right? You know, Trent McDuffy's the highest paid corner in the NFL right now. He just got his deal a couple months ago when he got traded from Kansas City to the Rams. You know what it is. And to your point, Curtis, with Brady, you're right. A lot of I would not want to say a lot all players didn't like Brady doing that because when Tom Brady does it, well, you should do it.
And that just sets, you know, it just kind of like it holds guys back to being able to maximize because you talked about it. Your career length is three years. And if you're not able to maximize or strike on that opportunity, then >> that's why all the former Patriots have to do TV.
>> Yeah. Yeah. I mean, >> get TV.
>> Yeah. I mean, you can't live unless you're like Brad and you can get 30 million a year.
>> I think that guaranteed money is going to be really tough for the crafts to swallow though. like they love loading up on incentives >> and I think the guaranteed money if you're Gonzalez that is totally you're right to cite that Wiggy with McDuffy cuz that is totally what you're looking at.
>> You don't from a player perspective you don't care much about OTAAS right like whether he's there or not.
>> No I don't >> Are we going to have a hold in when it comes to training camp >> if he don't have a new contract? I would think so.
>> Absolutely.
>> Yeah, I would think so. Why would why why would you risk something? Why would you risk, you know, putting yourself in that position, you know, and if you're the Patriots, don't you want to do what's right for your team and give your team a good look? Because guess what? Next year, you're going to be in the same conversation. It's going to cost you a lot a lot more money when it comes to Drake May. And what are you going to do there? Are you going to be like, ah, you're gonna be holding on to your wallet with the, you know, the death grip, or are you going to be like, "All right, these are our guys. We feel like they're the foundation to our team and we're going to pay them what the market dictates. That's the thing. Like I when when teams try to undercut a player or don't want to pay what the market dictates, it's like why >> is there anyone like from a fan perspective out there who sees Christian Gonzalez holding in and like they don't agree with it?
>> Oh yes, a lot.
>> Really? I got to say like you it's so much money that he's looking at. It's so much money. If I were part of his family, I'd be like it's irresponsible for you to go out and play for $4 million. It's ridiculous.
>> But I would say >> he's not going to get hurt during OTAAS.
I mean, that would be the that would be the >> He got hurt. He got hurt on the first day of of pads on training camp last year.
>> I'm just I just let me argue the opposite point here. He's not going to get hurt out there when, you know, Drake May is uh side tossing a ball like he did on Chime's first throw. Like >> I famously couldn't define it on the old show. Leverage is important.
>> Yeah. The the whole But let's just be clear, the holdin is not about the concern over a risk of injury. It's about making the Patriots pay. So I I'm not arguing.
>> It's it's right. It's forcing a team that could cut him at any time to pay him fair market value.
>> Yeah. Yeah. But he could easily go out there in OTAAS, right, and boom, backpedal, take one step, boom, blow an Achilles out.
>> Yeah.
>> So, yeah, he can. It's about getting hurt out there. It's about getting hurt at practice. And if he blows an Achilles out because he's doing a backpedal and at OTAAS, what do you think that that $100 million is going to look like?
>> Yeah. All right. Coming up, we'll get to They said it from the Catches Law Injury Attorney's Studios. No fee unless you win. We will hear what Chad Tracy said yesterday afternoon on this radio station about Roman Anthony among other things. Can I get to my lead though? Um, and so about almost a year ago now, the world lost perhaps its greatest rock and roll performer of all time. Curtis, you know who I'm talking about.
>> Aussie Osborne.
>> Yes.
>> Ozite.
>> Okay. The Prince of Darkness.
And so yesterday I'm stumbling around on the interwebs and I see Jack Jack Osborne, his son, talk about how they are now creating hologram Aussie and hologram Aussie is going to go around and interact with people and talk to people and do all of the Aussie things with people. Here is what Jack Osborne said yesterday. Aussie Osborne's son, Jack Osborne, defends plans to create an AI avatar of his late father. Jack says he and his mom, Sharon Osborne, put plenty of thought in before announcing the project was in the works.
He explains during a YouTube live stream in response to a fan bringing up backlash to the idea. Here's the thing.
It's going to be so tasteful what we're doing. It's not going to be lame. This is some like highlevel technology that that that we've that we're going to be working with and it's going to feel very real.
>> News of the upcoming digital prince of darkness was recently revealed.
>> Um I I wanted more Jack Osborne there, but that that's all right, Tom. Um so Jack is basically saying this to me is the guy's legacy like let Azie lie. I don't want the >> the digital prince of darkness. I I I we had the real Aussie. It's a it's it's a money grab by the family and it's rather disgusting to me.
>> See, I'm on the opposite side of that. I do love the hologram and the the ability to have your loved ones or if you know if your loved ones happens to be a celebrity kind of live on. I think Val Kilmer's family is doing the same thing.
They're allowing him to be in the uh new movie AI generated. So, I'm all for it.
If I could have like an an uh hologram of my mama walking through the house and, you know, yelling and screaming at me, it would be cool.
>> 508 Texter says, "Greg is such a fraud, he can't name five Aussie solo songs."
Uh, Crazy Train, Bark at the Moon, the Moon.
>> Uh, You Can't Kill Rock and Roll. Uh, Mr. Crowley, how many How many is that?
That's my head. That's >> one of them works pretty good.
I mean, I could go on and on, >> but I I think that like for me, I don't I I feel like Mega would feel the same way now that we know she's a ghost hunter. Like, she would like that to to have like somebody a celebrity that you could still >> It ruins the person's legacy. We knew the person when they were alive. We don't want the hologram version of the person, >> but we miss that person.
>> It's not real. It's not that you're not interacting with the real Prince of Darkness. No, thank you. Um, so, all right, those are the leads. We will get to they said it coming up next.
>> Hey, it's Lou now at Shaw and Star Market. Buy to get to on soda. That's buy Heat.
Hey. Hey.
Hey, hey, hey.
Hey, hey, hey.
Heat. Heat.

be I I I I Coming up at nine, Craig Brezlo, the chief baseball officer of the Boston Red Sox after a win and a strong win for this Red Sox team last night against a good Braves team. So, we'll we'll I'm I'm I'm sure that Breesbot will be in a good mood when we will it be hologram Craig Brelo or actual Craig Brezlo who joins us.
>> Well, isn't he uh AI anyway? So, it doesn't really matter with him. He's like a what what do they call those? The synths in the uh alien world.
>> A what?
>> A synth. I think that's what they call them. If you ever seen like the Alien movies, >> maybe. I mean, >> they're like um they still got a little human in them, but they're more machine >> like the predator world.
>> Like a Borg. You're talking about like a cyborg. A Borg is the >> Yeah, like a cyborg, but I think they changed the name to Simp. I could be wrong, though. It's been a while.
>> Yeah.
>> How do you feel? Did you see the new trailer for Disclosure Day?
>> Uh, yes. I've seen that a million times.
>> There's a new one that came out yesterday.
>> But I'm wondering, am I going to be disappointed with the movie?
>> Why?
>> Because I'm >> Spielberg. No, I So, what does that mean?
>> People are saying it's his best movie in 30 years.
>> All right, I got to go back and see Spielberg movies and see which ones I like, but I want to be uh I want to make sure at the end of it there's all types of crazy alien stuff going on. Not like, oh, that's it.
>> Like, it leaves it up to your imagination.
>> Yeah, I don't want that. I mean, I It's hard to do something that hasn't been done in a space alien film. There have been so many.
>> Yeah, but as long as it's entertaining.
I believe recently at my suggestion, Jones and Keef tiered them off. So there have been uh there have been countless alien films.
>> Oh, I'd love to see that.
>> It is as as Mego pointed out, it is Spielberg. Uh so maybe maybe it'll be good.
>> I got to go see this alien that they have now. Uh, but Greg Brezlo coming up at 9 on this morning's show and the news with Meo coming up at 8. That's catches with a K at catcheslaw.com. What's up first this morning, Tom? Well, let's start with the manager of the Boston Red Sox because he gave an update on Roman Anthony and when we could possibly see him back on the baseball diamond.
>> This was on the afternoon show yesterday here at WEI.
>> Um, and so let's hear what Chad Tracy had to say.
>> Uh, Roman, like we said yesterday, he did swing today. More more volume, more swings, uh, dry swings. The hope is that he gets a ball on a tee tomorrow and starts hitting off a tee. So, we'll see how that goes. But he he's uh progressing. What was the other one?
>> All right. Ball on the tea tomorrow.
>> All right.
>> Still a while out, I imagine. Right.
>> He said he took dry swings yesterday and people in the Twitch chat said that they never heard that before. I heard it from the manager of the team.
>> All right. So ball on a tea that's still sometime still is a way out I would imagine. Right.
>> Yeah.
>> Is then it would go does it go from ball on a tea to ball machine and then from ball machine to an actually somebody throwing B P. Right. So >> carry the two or August.
>> Well, I think >> he's not going to have to go to Worcester and rehab on this thing, is he, Curtis?
>> I mean, I went to rehab in Worcester, >> but now what Lou said he should do, right? Uh, didn't he say maybe go down there and get some swings in? I thought somebody said that that would be smart of him to do.
>> He's absolutely going to have to go play minor league. I mean, that's what these guys do to get back to, you know, some of them stay there like Tristan Casus, but hopefully he'd return. I think the biggest thing about him when he does come back healthy is what's he look like and how much pressure is going to be put on his shoulders to really like instantly give this offense a spock.
>> Yeah, I think that this is starting to feel I know it's not even June yet.
Isn't it starting to feel kind of like a lost season for him?
>> Oo wow.
>> Is that crazy?
>> It is kind of It's kind of crazy. It's been extended p well past what we thought it was going to be and then you start hearing about how far it's going to >> it's going to take him to get back.
>> Like at what point do we look at it and go like god he missed like >> a month and a half of the season and the season is already going nowhere?
>> Cuz when do you think if you had to put like a date on it? I know it's tough to do. Do you say July 1st he's back?
>> That's over a month from now.
>> Okay. I'm asking. Yeah. That and you're telling me that that's like a very very productive season for him.
>> No, no, that would I I kind of agree with you as you start to look at it and you go right if he's not you know so do you think he's going to be back by June 15th which is you know >> I hope so.
>> I I'm asking the question cuz to Me's point that is kind of like >> they're talking about him playing T-ball.
>> Yeah. Like you weren't very good when you got hurt so like what do you look like when you come back? And I think that's a great uh observation. Me >> this is Tim in the car. All right, Tim.
>> I'm just wondering, will a dry swings get him over the dry hump?
>> Uh, we clearly want wet swings. When do we get the wet swings?
>> I don't think it's going to be wild for those.
>> This is Steve from Nashville. Hello, Steve.
>> Hey, uh, curious, wasn't Tristan Cass taking these same type of dry swings like three years ago and we still haven't seen him play yet?
>> Yeah, I felt like he was getting stabbed.
>> Where is he? Where in the world is Tristan Casses?
>> A great question. had that knee injury, right?
>> He gets injured something new every other week.
>> Well, isn't it just really the waiting for him cuz he had the knee injury last year. We had what was it? The dislocation.
>> What don't we understand? He hasn't been around for a year.
>> No, I know that. But I never really >> he's unavailable.
>> And the last time I had high hopes >> unless he's running around in spring training with a a face mask on, you don't see the guy, >> right? And I don't think I even hear I mean I hear Jones and Keith talking about, you know, Triple A ball Worcester and I never even kind of hear his name.
The last time I had high hopes for Tristan Cassus was when you guys were comparing roles on uh spring training, however long ago that was.
>> That was like three years ago.
>> But wasn't that the last time we had like high hopes for the guy?
>> It is kind of Greg's fault.
>> Yeah, that's a jinx.
>> Yeah. All right. Um coming up, more of they said it, including what Son said about Socks. what Socks did last night.

But I I hear a call of a lifetime ring of the need to get up for it.

Got no regard for the thing that you don't understand. You got no fear of the underdog.
That's why you will not survive.
Coming up in about 10 minutes at 8, the news with me. And that includes an incident of loud dining family rage which led to violence in East Boston.
>> And so, um, we have unfortunately had to discuss in the past the kids that are out of control at the restaurant, leaning over the top of your booth and such. And so we will get to you're not supposed to react with violence obviously. No, we will we will get to that during the news coming up. As always, he'll notes in the 9:00 hour so you can leave a voice note for us on any topic whether it is something that we have discussed or have not discussed this morning. And we've talked a lot about Mike Vrabel speaking yesterday for the first time uh of uh of recent note. and uh we talked about Christian Gonzalez and the voluntary holdin which is underway. So you can leave a hill note on any of those topics and you can certainly call and share your thoughts on that any time this morning. But we were in the middle of they said it Tom. What is next?
>> Well let's stay with the Boston Red Sox because they might not be a the best baseball team and have a lot of skill but they have faith in themselves. Say Don Raphael was asked after the game how that win felt. this is what he had to say.
>> Yeah, it's huge. Um I think we take every win. Um yeah, we were playing hard baseball, good baseball last two weeks, so um yeah, I think I think this is what we're capable of and and we showing it right now.
>> Okay. Well, we talked about a lot start of the show. It's one win, but it is a win against a a good team in uh in strong fashion. And so, um, you need to be able to string a bunch of these together to get everybody back in and excited. I I guess >> you can't Yeah, because you can't beat choke artists. We talked about this.
You're up 4 nothing in the first game in the series against the Twins in the first inning and you lose that game, which probably to Curtis's point snowballs the the the series of you getting swept. And you think about that, you probably could have won two of those three games against the Twins. you sweep Kansas City. Now you come into to the the Braves series, you're able to to win a game and that it doesn't look as bad as it does after getting swept by um Minnesota. I will ask him this at nine and who knows what kind of an answer we'll get but heart of hearts do you believe that Craig Brezlo thinks the same thing that he said after firing Alex Kora which is that this team this roster as currently composed can make a deep run in the playoffs >> uh I mean he'll say yes but >> right but what does he think really in his heart >> no >> no okay >> he's not doing the the PR tour if he thinks the team's good enough he'll just let the can do it.
>> Yeah.
>> I think one of the questions you have to ask is like because if Craig Brezlo is some kind of in some kind of laying duck status, like is what he is going to do this season in the best interest of the Red Sox long term?
>> Mhm.
>> You know, like is he going to try to push to get this team in the postseason and maybe make moves that are short term, >> right? and in his best interest of trying to keep his job, trying to keep himself alive versus actually trading guys where you can get real value back beyond whatever lockout might happen.
>> Well, do you think his job is on the line? If if if this team does not make the playoffs, is he gone?
>> Yes, >> I think it's possible.
>> Yeah, >> I don't think so.
>> People don't care as much.
>> I don't think so. I think John Henry has already made the decision to hitch his wagon, you know, for the immediate future to Brezbot by firing Alex Cora, right? So, I don't really think his job is on the line, at least not this season. And like I said, next year with the potential lockout looming, I think that puts everybody on pause and, you know, holds everybody back from doing anything drastic. I I would >> So if this team doesn't make the playoffs and there is and there's going to be a lockout, >> you're gonna hang on to Craig Brezlo during that period of time and let him be the guy who reconstructs everything heading into the year after the lockout.
>> Yeah. Because you're going to look at it like this. All right, we we gave him the opportunity. He was able to get us to the postseason. He made a lot of good moves that helped this team make the playoffs last year. You know, obviously the crochet deal. some of his moves this year were pretty good. They saved us some money. When you start to think about the guys that he brought in this year, other than Caleb Durban, everybody else looks like, all right, they've done a decent job. You know, the the people that are struggling are the ones that have already been here. You know, think about that when you start to think about Durant or some of these other players that are struggling.
>> Trevor Story.
>> Trevor Story. These were guys that were already here before Brezbot. When you start to look at some of Brebbot's players, Contrarus looks like he's been really good for you. Sunny Gray, how does Caleb Durban look?
>> Other than Durban, that's what I said.
>> But I feel like we're twisting ourselves into a pretzel to make it look like this is in any way successful. I mean, the team is dreadful, >> right? But that's what he's going to sell to John Henry to say, "All right, you got to at least give me my manager to be able to show you what I can do." I was given Alex Cora. This is him. This is him defending himself where I don't see John Henry going, "All right, we're going to fire this guy because of what?" All right, what's next, Tom?
>> Well, we talked about Drake May looking a little bit bigger yesterday, and yesterday he was asked if he is quote unquote thicker with two C's. Here's how Drake May responded.
>> You thicker with two C's. Is that how it's supposed to be? New York pause if that's anything. I think that's a that's not the way to put it. But uh >> Roachi, >> right? Trying to be hip.
>> Thicker with two C's.
>> Yeah. And I don't think Drake May knew exactly what he meant by that. Did you know what he meant?
>> He meant the way that you spell thick.
>> Yeah. Yeah. But that's what I'm saying.
I don't think Drake knew that cuz that's generally a ladies thing. So he's like, "What? What you mean thicker with two C's? Should I be pausing on this yet?"
That was that was the biggest talker going into yesterday was Drake Drake looking thicker.
>> So we got a question from Roachi about it as he should. That is that is fine reporting right there from Dan Roach.
>> He probably should have used the word swole or yolked.
>> Yeah.
>> You know, >> I mean >> it's kind of like >> dangerous. I mean I've tried to delve into the the uh the language space when it comes to the Youngs and it's hard to pull off.
>> Yeah. cuz you don't use >> it's it can be very difficult to pull off >> when you do the maiden voyage of a term and your like spouse looks at you like did you just say miss >> right cuz when you Right right >> where did they look at you like where did you pick that up >> dulu >> where did that come from >> still having trouble pulling 67 off and I went past that >> you tried to use bomb and it was like 20 years >> I think the kids have passed that yeah I think that was Roachi I don't think thick is good for when describing a male.
>> Why?
>> Because you don't say, "Oh, bro, you're looking kind of thick." Cuz that means you're looking fat.
>> Wiggy thinks everything's weird describing males except for Michael Jackson.
>> No, no, no, no. I'm trying to hip you to the lingo.
>> He looks like he does well with the ladies.
>> No, I'm trying to hip you to the lingo.
If you're going to speak the lingo of the youngans, you got to at least know how to phrase it in the >> body literally looks thicker.
>> Then you say, "Bro, you're looking swole."
>> Okay.
I think Rochi would have sounded better saying swole.
>> Yeah, but I mean when he goes, "Hey, you're looking thick with two C's."
>> I think Roachi is the issue, not the word, if we're going to be honest.
>> Cuz when you tell a dude he's looking thick, that means he looks kind of fat.
>> Well, listen. He's put he's clearly put on some muscle.
>> Yeah.
>> Which I don't know if that's him saying, "I'm concerned that I'm going to get my block knocked off again with the way this offensive line is." So, >> it's Campbell insurance. No, I think he's just, you know, like he's just looking at it like as he evolves as an athlete, he's got to get, you know, probably wants to be bigger, stronger.
Every athlete evolves and, you know, Brady kind of went in a different way.
Wanted to be more pliable and those type of things. One person you should be worried about looking more thick with two C's if you're going to ask anybody is Will Campbell, cuz that was kind of the knock on him. He wasn't built like a an offensive lineman would look.
>> Can he thicken up in like the shoulders, though?
>> Well, the knock was the arm thing. I know, but like you know, >> just even the way his body looked, >> the short the alligator arms was the knock.
>> But if you're going to have alligator arms, I think even, you know, remember Vrabel jokingly said when he was chugging bears and he took his shirt off, like, wait a second, I might have to hire new strength and conditioning coach. So, you know, you might want to lean up a little bit. So, I mean, I don't have a problem with Drake May looking looking a little bit more muscular.
>> Okay. All right. That is They said it.
Coming up, we will get to the news with Mego. It is National Hamburger Day and a bit of a surprise to me anyway when it comes to the best chain hamburger in America.
>> Oh, I will I can't wait for this conversation. I don't know what it is, but I want to see how they who they have won and how they determine the category.
>> Wiggy thinks it's round robin.
>> Red Robin.
>> Yeah, we'll get to that and the rest of the news coming up in just a couple minutes.
Legendary.

Hey, hey, hey.
England was practically a done deal. NFL media's Ian Rapaort reported the Eagles and Patriots may actually still be negotiating on his value.
>> I just don't know that it's going to be like snap your fingers and the deal is done because the two sides are where they have been, which is the Eagles wanting a first round pick in 2027. The Patriots, the most likely destination.
We'll see if someone else rises, but Patriots, the most likely destination, not being willing to give up a first round pick as of right now. That means they're not particularly close.

What do you think they would say?
>> Well, here is Mego with this morning's news. Mego, where are we beginning the news today?
>> I'm going to begin by asking, is there some kind of like local challenge going on, like a Tik Tok challenge, something social media wise I don't know about because this is such a dumb story that we're starting off with. Three people tried climbing the weather beacon at top the old Hancock building in Boston last night. According to police, >> was one of them danger? The seven-year-old who was able to scale Capatan.
>> El Capitan.
>> El Capatan. It's No.
>> So photos showed one person in a t-shirt and shorts on the weekend Wednesday evening. The three climbers got down and ran off. Police are investigating what they were doing up there. You can see a photo right now. Credit to the Boston Globe um on Twitch. And by the way, I didn't know this. The old Hancock building now known as the Berkeley building.
>> Oh yeah, I know.
>> Hancock is the one that has the blinking blue and the blinking red and the rhyme that goes with it. Right.
>> And then the one that says Hancock across it.
>> Well, that is what indicates the weather like the blue or the red or whatever indicates.
>> What is it? Steady blue, pretty view, blinking blue, clouds are due, steady red. Rain ahead, blinking red, snow instead.
>> Right. There we go. Steady.
>> Climb. Climb.
>> Sorry. Sorry about that, Chris.
>> Okay.
>> It's a building.
>> Climb. Climb the red. You might be dead.
It's more like I don't know.
>> Well, these So, they're doing this for the likes. I'm I'm assuming, right?
That's what that was.
>> The in the picture, the guy had his phone out, so I have to assume it's something like that.
>> Yeah.
>> That is crazy.
>> Everything is for the videos now.
>> That is high.
>> All right.
>> Dumb. Uh, police arrested a husband and wife in East Boston. We were talking about this a little bit earlier, teasing it, claiming that they assaulted and violated the civil rights of people dining at a neighborhood restaurant.
Again, this is an Easty. Authorities say Ariel and Gregory Roso called 911 with a noise complaint about the back patio of Tertullia's Cafe just before 700 p.m.
>> Have you been there, Wiggy?
>> No, I never been there. East Boston native or like Brooklyn native and then East Boston.
>> No, I never been to Tortullio.
>> Tortullios. Okay.
>> So, they called them just before 7:00 p.m., not that late. You know, it's beautiful weather right now. Officers asked them to call back if the noise persisted past 11 p.m., but police say the couple instead took a hose and sprayed the diners on the patio, then broke off a wooden piece of the patio fence and threw it at the diners. One piece hit a 12-year-old. Police also report that Ariel told the diners, quote, "Get out of this country."
>> The owner said the cafe uh the owner of the cafe rather says he's dealt with prior racist incidents against his patrons.
>> All right. I mean, don't first of all, I'm assuming the restaurant was there when when these people moved there. I I don't >> Or vice versa. Who the hell may be there? I mean, you're just an a-hole.
>> Yeah. outside patio like people are having fun. It's a family dining. I get it. People get annoyed, but like >> I I mean >> like the cops said, "Call us back after 11 if it's still loud and crazy." But I >> You're allowed you're allowed to talk to other people, right?
>> When you're dining uh at a restaurant and especially, you know, outside on a beautiful night. Like >> that's what restaurants are for. Like I don't mind people being loud in a restaurant. I mean, that's kind of, you know, the vibe of a restaurant. And if people are going to talk, if there's a group of people, like it never bothers me. Like you come to a restaurant to, you know, enjoy the dinner, but part of it is the atmosphere. Whether you're at a, you know, uh, a place like, you know, Ocean Prime or Committee or Moo or whatever.
>> You really committee's only got one spot though.
Wigs, you were talking about the Back Bay. Unless they opened a new one.
They've always just been in the seapport.
>> No, there's the one on uh, I believe it's Newberry Street.
>> Committee. The same Greek. Yeah, it's like on Newberry Street. Like it it might be New It's one of those streets over there by the way.
>> There's a Greek place. I don't know.
>> No, you walk up some stairs to get there.
>> Isn't that place called cafeteria?
>> Yeah, >> I don't think so.
>> I don't think there's a I Googled it yesterday. There's not a committee on Newbury Street.
>> When you walk upstairs, maybe it's maybe the name is different. So, I don't know.
>> Name's not your thing.
>> Yeah, you names are not my thing.
>> But like this happened. How ironic would it be if he's trying to uh plug a restaurant where he eats for free and he doesn't get the name right. I don't I don't think they're going to be very happy.
>> I don't eat anywhere for free. I don't eat anywhere free. I always pay. I might get a free appetizer.
>> Boom.
>> Shout out to all the people for the free appies.
>> How does that fit into the one meal a day thing >> because an appetizer is part of my meal?
>> Exactly. It is.
>> One meal means when I sit down, whether it's it's a three course meal, that's the that's the meal that I'm having for the day. I've tried to get the brag of the week on the midday show >> and the greatest perk I get from this show is when I go maybe once a year to Grill 23, >> they comp the ch the chocolate chip cookies.
>> They just bring them right out >> with the milk >> with the milk. Absolutely unbelievably delicious and I feel like I'm like the on top of the world.
>> An under underrated dessert option is the the warm chocolate chip cookies.
Spectacular.
>> This is doing wonders for the young audience. I like my warm chocolate chip cookies with a tall glass of milk.
>> Okay. I mean, I think >> we get too young.
>> They appeal to all ages.
Um, warm warm cookies.
>> But this happened. Uh, we were at Joe's for lunch a couple weeks ago and James climbed up and was like started talking to people that were having a business lunch next to us and immediately was like, "Come on, stop." up. He said, "I'm sorry." They're like, "Oh, it was fine.
Whatever."
>> They said it was always fine because it was 5 seconds and James is cute and whatever. But I feel like there are so many people that just allow that.
>> Yeah.
>> And it's that like that is wrong. It is not the restaurant's job. It is not anybody else's job, but the parent or the caretaker to make sure that your son is not impeding a business lunch.
>> Mo most parents are pretty good. But there are though I was on the uh on the ferry back on Monday. Mhm.
>> There were these parents who came on with uh like three kids, >> right?
>> Two kids.
>> Mhm.
>> And they pllopped the two kids down on the seats across from me and then they went the two kids both have their headphones on and their iPads >> so they can't hear anything, >> right?
>> So then they plop them down on the seats across from me >> and they go sit elsewhere so that Yeah.
So the two of them can enjoy a beverage.
>> And the kid, >> you know, whatever. It's a kid. So, but the kid is kicking me the whole entire time.
>> And then he's screaming cuz he's got his headphones on. He's going, "Mama."
>> Oh, man.
>> Mama, I want some cookies. Mama >> the whole entire time. And they they're not doing anything about it.
>> Well, that's because they're like >> Well, it's like they want me to babysit their toddlers. That's it's like it's like the people who it do it with the dogs. It's like, "Oh, everybody likes dogs and everybody likes kids." So, you're fine with that because it's a little kid. He's so cute. And and how can you be mad at a kid for being a kid?
That's their mindset. The parents, >> the kid wanted a hot dog and there were no hot dogs available on the ferry. So, the kid is going, "Mama, I want a hot dog, mama." Yeah. Yeah. And the only thing they had, they had like a box of croutons that were left over from like their salad prep. So like that's what they gave the kid to eat. And then he's spilling the the crouton crumbs all over himself and all over everybody else around him screaming mama.
>> No discipline in that household. So you imagine if that kid's at well I don't know how old he is. He's doing acting a fool. What's he going to be like when he gets to 12 13 and then what's he going to be like when he's 18?
>> Imagine viewing your son as somebody else's problem. like you are like and that's what they do in public. What do you think it's like in their house?
>> Well, I always think like you you should probably judge are you in a grown-up space or you in a familyfriendly space and I feel like fairy kind of falls in between. I mean it's very rude to you but like grown-up space honestly like you're at Grill 23. If your kid is throwing crayons across the restaurant that's grown-up space that's not acceptable. You should probably leave.
if you're in like uh Chili's and everybody's kids are throwing crayons across whatever you know what's going to happen there. But the when the kid is kicking me like I went through this moral dilemma in my head, >> right?
>> Because I thought about like am I supposed to say to the kid, "Hey, please stop kicking me or something, which I didn't. No, >> I didn't say a thing cuz it's not my kid and I like Lord knows what would happen.
They'd probably sue me." Yeah.
>> But but it's like you're not they had no idea that they're over there. The mom's drinking a, you know, a wine and the husband's chugging a beer and it's like they have absolutely no idea what their the the terror tikeke is doing to the rest of us.
>> Yeah, that's very weird. You >> leave your kid like un >> kicking other people. You put them right over your lap. You give them a nice couple fresh ones on the backside.
>> You can't do that to somebody else's kid.
>> And you're definitely getting really >> Well, no. No. I wouldn't say I'm saying that's what the parents should be doing.
>> That's how Michael Jackson got in trouble. Yeah, that's that's how the parents should be allegations.
>> That's how the parents should be. That's a problem. Our kids, they now you can't you can't I don't even want to get it because it could be corporal punishment.
We don't do that no more in 2026.
>> All right. All right. What else? Mego >> actor Matthew Perry's living personal assistant has been sentenced to 3 years and 5 months in prison for his role in Perry's death. 60-year-old Kenneth Iwamasa was also sentenced to two years of probation and a $10,000 fine. The assistant was at Perry's side through the final days of his life and acted as a drug messenger for him. He was the last person to see the friend star alive and the one who found him dead in his jacuzzi. He was also the last he was also the first person rather to reach a deal with prosecutors pleading guilty in August of 2024 to one count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine resulting in death.
>> So he wasn't the drug dealer. He was just Matthews Perry's friends who was getting him the drugs. Yes.
>> They say he was enabling.
>> No. No. Why? Matthew's probably like, "Hey man, give me my drugs." And that's his friend and that's what he's doing.
So I'm Because my friend >> employee, not his friend.
>> Well, I thought you just said they were friends.
>> Personal assistant.
>> Okay.
>> Paid him 100 personal assistant friend.
Yeah. Whatever it is like, >> so you have a problem and I'm your assistant or I'm your friend. Yeah.
Maybe I might be enabling you with that problem. And then so I'm getting convicted and sentenced into jail time for something that you want.
>> Yes.
>> Hell no.
>> Well, you somebody wants drugs and they get them from a >> But I'm not a drug dealer though. You are.
>> No, no, no, no, no. If >> you're getting drugs and bringing them to >> If he's saying Yeah, but it's one thing.
>> What's the difference?
>> More of a mule.
>> Yeah, you're a mule. You're not the actual illegal, too.
>> Yeah, I know it's illegal. We're not talking that it's like the part of it not being illegal, but it's like he's doing it because his friend, I'm making air quotes or assistant, however you want to factor it in, is like Matthew's like, "Hey man, can you help me cuz I don't want to go out there and people notice me? I'm picking up drugs from this dude." And he's like, "All right, I got you." And now he's doing time for that.
>> Yeah. It's >> a lot of time.
>> It's illegal. That's why you go to jail.
>> Yeah. I don't I I I I I'm don't get it.
But I mean >> I mean obviously Matthew Perry paid with his life. I mean he's not alive and well and being like okay I I I don't think if Matthew Perry hadn't died. I don't think >> if you want I don't think you should be doing jail time. You want to you know say hey listen you know we found you guilty on this. You get some probation.
But the fact you're doing jail time >> textter says on the Subaru of New England text line that's like sending Lindsay to jail for getting me chocolate chip cookies.
>> That's true >> right. Exactly. Mama, please.
Mama, chocolate chip cookies. Mama kick kick.
>> Was he the cookie monster?
>> All right, but I will say Wiggy, I agree with you on this that like there was this huge underbelly of society in LA where these doctors quote unquote would prescribe these drugs and and all of them seem to get away with it. like it.
The fact that this guy's getting three and a half years and the people that he was possibly getting the drugs from have not been punished as much is a problem.
>> Rest of the news coming up, including where one can now go for the best chain hamburger in the United States of America on National Hamburger Day. We will get to the rest of the news in just two minutes.
Indeed presents higher you can Hey, hey, hey.
Heat. Hey, Heat.
Hey, hey, hey.
Still to come this morning, rest of the news with Mego momentarily and then we will talk with Craig Brezlo, the chief baseball officer of the Boston Red Sox at 9 after a win for the Hometown nine, which is not a common thing that we have been saying lately. This is Steve in the truck. Hello, Steve.
>> Good morning, everybody. Greg, you're 100% right. I was on that study. We went down the cable, my wife and I. And a family did the same thing. They put their two kids like right next to us.
Fine. But they started acting up and they continued to act up. So, I got up when I went home nicely. I I know those young kids over there and I understand you're trying to enjoy yourself, but I'm not your babysitter. I'm sorry, but >> I appreciate it if you come over and you know you attempt to your children.
>> Yeah.
>> I mean, I'm sorry. Not to babysit.
>> I don't But then you don't want to be that person, but it's like if I'm going to babysit you.
>> I can you at least pay me. What's the going rate for babysitters?
>> Oh, I think it's pretty good now. I think it's like 30 bucks an hour.
>> It's like Can you at least pay me if I'm gonna watch your kids for the hourlong ferryy ride? Like please.
>> It really brings out the worst.
Traveling brings out the worst in people. Like even a ferry to Nantucket, you can't even get a fiveminute relaxation.
>> No. That's why we should get into the world of there should be everything family and adults only where you can't bring any kids. Like I mean I just like I'm one of those people. My kids >> you know pretty well where they're kids and where they're not.
>> But on a ferry you don't know that, >> right? So charter your own boat. Money bag.
>> Well, who's going to charter a boat? Why not have a kids charter and a a familyfriendly charter and an adult only charter?
>> You know how much more expensive an adult only charter would be than a family charter?
>> It also sounds sexy, >> right?
>> No, no, we're being honest. But no, it's not because there No, no, no. There are a lot of people I would say there are more people today that are probably not having kids. So would be more interested in adult only kid uh feries, restaurants, hotels like you know you go to a hotel. I don't want to go to a hotel and be sitting poolside and have you know 58 year olds running around and splashing water everywhere.
>> Where's my floaty mama?
>> Yeah. So, they should have an, you know, an adults only ferry.
>> All right. Uh, back to the rest of today's news. We may go.
>> Okay. So, we're a little over a month away from Fourth of July, and the town of Rutland, Massachusetts announced yesterday that it's cancelling this year's Fourth of July fireworks, parade, and concert due to public safety staffing concerns. Town officials say while they have the money for the events, they simply can't staff it safely. They did not make this decision lightly, but they're they just can't get people out to work for Fourth of July.
>> Uh, who cancels the Fourth of July in in in America, especially especially when it is our 250th birthday like apparently.
>> Well, that's ridiculous.
>> I I this was on the news last night.
They said that they collected all these donations from businesses and people to pay for the thing >> and they're keeping the money.
Like the town of Rutland is keeping the money, not returning it to people.
That's stupid.
>> But they're not having the Fourth of July parade.
>> Yeah, just return it. Or can't they get like some outside security um company to come in that they could pay to help?
>> I think they're doing it because they wanted extra money in the in the budget >> for police and fire, which they should have gotten and they didn't get it.
>> But I have a I have a good mind to go out there and hold my own parade, Curtis. You know, I you know, I love a good parade.
>> You love good parades every year.
>> I love good parades. So, I my I maybe I'll do maybe I'll organize my own Rutland Fourth of July parade for those people.
>> Well, the fireworks would be going crazy in Rutland then.
>> This is almost as bad as when we had drop kicks arrived in our parking lot.
Mark Cannon had to kick them out.
>> Yes, that's right.
>> I needed to get pre-approval on that because of co >> Right. Ken Ken secretly was the one who kaiwashed it.
>> I think he probably did. All right. What else? Me? Kendrick Perkins got into a confrontation at his son's AAOU tournament and it was caught on camera.
Saw this.
>> He says one of the kids on his team, the AU team was quote bodys slammed by a 7 foot 400B player on the other team.
>> Wow. Who was 12?
>> And he was simply to be 12. He was defending his players because the other coach wasn't intervening on behalf >> of protecting all the kids >> right >> now. Perk was caught on camera, you know, kind of getting in somebody's face, but he went on the Pat McAfee show on ESPN and he explained that at the end of the day, everybody was able to squash the beef.
>> What people didn't see was after that, we had a little exchange. Yeah, they held us back or whatever. Held him back.
Held me back. And then afterwards we dabbed up. He said, "My bad." I said, "My bad." And we kept him moving.
>> All right. Cuz he was going after the other coach, right? Or the other staff member. That That's what I read.
>> Who is the 7 foot 400 pound player?
>> Oh, they have them. They have some big kids out there. Some biggin.
>> Why is he playing basketball, not football?
>> I don't know. I feel like a lot of those, you know, a lot of >> are going to take him next year at a tackle.
>> Yeah. I think what'll end up happening, >> it sounds good to me. Honestly, >> it ends up transitioning, but a lot of those kids that are that big, they end up in the basketball world, which I makes no sense to me.
>> Like the body would not hold up.
>> Yeah, go play football.
>> Okay. Uh, what else?
>> We have a case of Florida not like the rest of us.
>> And now, >> it's one of those only in Florida type of stories.
>> Another edition of >> Come to Miami, >> Florida.
>> Florida, >> not like the rest of us.
>> The people of Pulk County like guns.
They have guns. I encourage them to own guns. on WEI.
>> Oh, they don't close flat.
>> This is gross. An elderly man in Florida had the police called on him twice last week for allegedly exposing himself to multiple neighbors at his apartment complex. On Wednesday, the second day in a row the police were called, he was arrested on multiple charges. According to police, neighbors of the thongwearing man named Tyrone James Cosy, 79 years old, >> oh, 79 and still wearing the thong, >> were quote, increasingly concerned and frustrated with his continued behavior.
I believe he was also wearing lipstick at one point.
>> Really?
>> All right. I mean, >> no point in putting the thong on if you're not going to make your face up.
>> Yeah. Yes. Right. You got to make sure your face card is good.
>> Make sure you're presentable. Got to keep those bat wings in.
>> How do you look in the thong? That the How does Dan Roach think he looks in the thong?
But do I'm guessing 79 in the thong.
There's a lot of a lot of saggy saggy and wrinkly skin.
>> You don't know that though. He may have been ball maxing.
>> Who knows? Well, that's true.
>> We have absolutely no idea.
>> Okay. All right. Uh and then there was some news on National Hamburger Day. We have to >> This is very, very important. So today is National Hamburger Day and I know Wiggy's going to be very interested in this.
>> We have we have a ranking >> of the best chain restaurant hamburgers in America. In America in America.
>> So we're not talking fast food.
>> We're talking chain restaurants. We got six of them.
>> Are we going to have Wiggy guess them or how do you want to do that?
>> Sure. I mean I don't know. I would you brought up Red Robin the other day. You didn't get the name right. Red. Would that be on your list?
Uh, no. I would go >> uh five guys.
>> Are we going top to bottom?
>> This is not fast. This is not fast. Oh, they're putting them in they're putting them in in a fast >> sit down chain. You got to you got to have a waiter there.
>> Like Applebee's.
>> Oh, wow.
>> I >> I would go chili's on there probably.
>> Okay.
>> But that's not a burger.
>> You want me to let you know when you get one, right?
>> Well, no. I mean, I I we don't seem to be Tom. You have any guesses?
>> I don't have any guesses.
>> Did you guess five guys? Yeah, that doesn't really count.
>> Yeah, I don't know what this is. A burger joint. That's a a burger chain. I don't know.
>> Factory.
>> No, that's not a burger joint.
>> They have burger. They have great burgers. I don't know.
>> Yeah.
>> Give us an example.
>> What about Wallburgers?
>> That >> that's not national.
>> That's kind of in between.
>> Yeah.
>> I Shake Shack.
>> No, you guys are guessing like kind of fast food.
>> Okay.
>> Can you give us one?
>> You had to have a You had to have a server. So, I'll let you know just off the jump because it's not in the top three. Chili's is one of the restaurants that has the best chain burger.
>> Thank you. I get a medium rare.
>> So, think about you go somewhere, you sit down, you're paying a tip on on the tab.
>> What else is on the list?
>> We have Cheesecake Factory.
>> Is number three.
>> They have a good burger there, >> right?
>> Number five is Denny's.
>> Really? Denny's.
>> That's what it says.
>> Who made this list?
>> That is an awful idea. America made the list.
>> Number six is Outback.
>> Really?
>> What?
>> I don't really think about ordering a burger when I go to Outback Steakhouse.
>> Beef like Yeah.
>> They say cuz it has the bloom and onion petals and bloom and onion sauce.
>> I've had the Bloomman burger before.
>> Okay.
>> Um hot take. I don't like a bunch of stuff on my burger.
>> Totally agree. Agree. Like >> cheese and ketchup. For me, >> the worst is the fried egg. Like everybody does the egg on that.
>> You do? I do. It's like the one thing that I would add.
>> But I do love a good blue cheeseburger.
>> No, thank you. All right. Thank you, Megan.
>> Wait, wait. We have two more really quick.
>> No, you got two more. Okay.
>> Cheddar Scratch Kitchen.
>> Never heard.
>> Never heard of it. Number one, >> friendlies.
>> B Dubdub.
>> Buffalo Wild Wings.
>> Really? That's number one.
>> Mhm.
>> Buffalo Wild Wings. All right.
>> All right, Mego. Thank you. That is the news. Speaking of news, there is uh there's some news today being released from science uh about our old pal LB and we're going to we are going to get to that. I'm going to try to do the segment without crying. We will get to that coming up next.

Well, still to come This morning, Craig Brezlo, the chief baseball officer of the Boston Red Sox in about a half an hour at 9. And a lot to talk to Brebbot about after a socks win last night.
There is a little bit of news today coming Wiggy on our pal LB, the great Lyndon Buyers, >> my dog. RIP brother. I feel like, and I've always said this, I'm the black LB for all the uh AAF listeners. You know, I bring a little bit of it. I think LB I think he coined that that uh nickname for you, the black LB.
>> Yeah, we had we we almost did have our our podcast where we were going to do a naked sports show and we were going to call it uh crossing sticks and pucks, I believe it was.
>> I thought it was naked and afraid.
>> No, no, no. A lot of people are happy that that never came to fruition. No offense.
>> Like myself, LB love to be in the nude.
>> No offense. But um there is a little bit of news today which I think is of interest when it comes to sports. And joining us to share some of that information is a neuroscientist, the founder and CEO of the Concussion and CTE Foundation, and that is Chris Ninsky. Hey Chris, how are you?
>> I'm doing okay. Thanks for uh having me on this morning.
>> Absolutely. So, um, and I didn't realize this was this was going on, but you you have science has examined the brain of LB, and you're sharing the results uh, with the world with the world today.
>> Yes. Yeah. Press release actually just went out a few minutes ago. Uh, we're helping Anne Buyers, his widow, share the news. So, uh, Lyndon had pledged to donate his brain while he was alive to be studied at the Boston University CT Center and and and followed through with that. And so, we're helping her announce today that LB actually had stage three CTE. He was like the 20th NHL player uh, diagnosed with it.
>> And so, what when it comes to the stages, what just for layman like us, like what how are those defined? What what does that mean? Yeah. So, um, you know, chronic traumatic encphylopathy is a degenerative brain disease caused by repeated head impacts. And so, we're seeing that we're giving it to people, you know, children are getting it as young as 17, 18. Um, and then and that starts at stage one is microscopic lesions around blood vessels that are caused by the hits. And not just the concussions, but hard hits that you may not feel. And then it spreads throughout your life for most people and eventually gets to a stage three or four which frequently causes dementia. And so we've seen earl you might remember a few years ago the earliest stage three we had seen was Aaron Hernandez who had stopped playing football 24 you know died in his late 20s and had CTLB had stage three at 61 in which half of people have dementia. And so if we think back to those of us who knew him know that he, you know, he he struggled a bit in his final years and I I have permission to talk about some of that that you may not be aware of. Yeah.
>> But um Yeah.
>> Yeah. Yeah. No, and I know from I know from the perspective of of Annie, his widow, it was important to her, very important to LB, >> but important to Annie also to get this information out so that uh athletes and others can can, you know, make it make the decisions that they want to make based on it, Chris, which is kind of what you've always been about.
>> Yeah, exactly. I mean, if you want, as a former professional wrestler, you know, if you want to do dangerous job, that's fine. You know, we just need informed consent and we should take reasonable protections. But, you know, we need need to focus more on the fact that we're also doing the same things with kids who don't have that informed consent. But, you can actually I'll read with you Annie's quote here. She said about LB.
You know, he was so fun and vibrant, but towards the end it got to the point where he didn't want to socialize or even leave the house. He battled severe depression. and he had episodes of hallucinations. He struggled with his short-term memory loss and it made him difficult for him to navigate the day on his own. And so she said, "I'll do whatever I can to make sure nobody else has to watch their loved one deteriorate like that." Like that.
>> Chris, what are some of the things >> what courageous like think of how courageous she is to to to be me? She wants to remember her husband as the guy that we all saw.
>> But to be vulnerable in this way, as a way to help others not have to endure what she did is remarkable.
>> And think about, you know, and and often times it's you you don't talk about these things because they are they're other people's business. But think about how difficult it was. The couple of times that LB, you know, LB would always say, "Hey, I want to come on the show and I, you know, I want to come in there." And it would be difficult for him to do that. But the the times that he did, like I'll never forget when we were at Saving by Shaving.
>> Remember that, Curtis?
>> Oh my god.
>> And he came in the studio and did the whole studio, did the whole show from here with us while we were down there >> and was was unbelievable on that on that day. But um >> so one of the things I I you know it's interesting as a former professional athlete of a contact sport you know what are some of the things that you know because there are still a lot of guys there still a lot of kids playing what are some of the things that you think could help with prevention are you fan of like the guardian caps or some of the things that are taking measures in that aspect >> no you know the the equipment's not really going to save us from this I think it's important for for parents to know, and this is not wellnown, the guardian cap that the NFL uses is not the guardian cap your that's sold to your kids in high school or youth football. It's actually just different materials, twice as heavy, and performs dramatically better. The one that's being sold to high school players, it only reduces rotational acceleration by 2% at best in a lab. So, I would call it I would not encourage anyone that need needs to buy it. There's no no known benefit to it. The number one there's sort of if you think about what's causing CT the one thing that's very clear is the number and strength of head impacts you take over your life. So like I you know I'm probably a guy that took at least 10,000 hits to my head. You know you're probably in that ballpark.
So we are definitely at risk for developing this. We don't yet know exactly how much risk. The way we would reduce that risk would be to have had fewer head impacts. And so that means like for a sport like football that you and I played we need to completely reinvent practice. You know, there's no, you know, when I, when I played, the data showed 70% of head impacts, 70% of your CT risk was coming in practice. Uh, if we get that down to zero, we're dramatically cutting our risk in, you know, for the next generation. And and the people like Buddy Teans, the Dartmouth coach, did show that we can teach successful football without head impacts, but no coaches are following him down that path, which is a shame.
Another thing would be starting later in life. You know, we we know that kids are taking 3 to 800 hits to the head in youth football each season, but if you could play flag instead and delay that introduction by a few years or until high school, you might cut your f your kid's future CT risk in half, but no one's willing to have that conversation because it feels anti-OTO rather than prokid.
>> Hey Chris, I have a quick quick question on this. Sorry, we're we're up against it a bit. The um >> how close are we to being able to diagnose CTE in living people? There'll be a meeting at the National Institutes of Health in January to review data out of the Boston University CT Center and others that says we're we're on the cusp and it's just a question of is is we all feel like this is strong enough data to move forward with it. So, we're on the cusp. Anybody who's at risk out there who's concerned know the treatment does work, you can reach out to us at the Concussion CT Foundation to get help, whether it be you at Harvard or a lot of other places that are getting good at treating this. But we are a brighter days ahead. We're talking clinical trials being announced soon. uh to treat it. So, it's an exciting time.
>> How much is the NFL fighting your ability to diagnose that in living people?
>> Uh I would say the you know the NFL when you hear about them supporting research, it's 95% concussion stuff because concussion feels like a problem that we can solve and and and but they're not funding work on CTE that will help develop a cure. They're just they're just not and I wish they were.
>> Yeah.
>> Wow. Well, it's really hard to hear this, Chris, but really important that we do. And so, I appreciate you reaching out and we One of the great things about LB, at least from my perspective, is the people that he introduced me to. And you were one of them. And I'm get this is how old we are. What was like 30 I don't I don't think you were even doing the CTE stuff. It's probably 30 years ago at Dad's or something like that, right?
>> It's It's been more than 20 years. It was 2008 I think when you hosted our gala which I still appreciate very much and you know yeah I was blessed to know LB and be able to you know wrestle with the McKiller Kowalsskis back you know 25 years ago in Malden like that's how I met him when he was thinking about doing that so was he >> he was the best >> he led an unbelievable life >> he would have been a great wrestler >> he did it for a while he wanted to get into classic >> all right Chris thank you >> thanks guys that is it's so hard to hear But it also >> you and Curtis is so spot on like it is really brave of Annie and and LB's son Will to um let this happen. So we will be right back.
