The GameStop CEO's proposal to acquire eBay highlights how platform fee structures directly impact reseller profitability. eBay's take rate of 13.9% means that for every $100 in sales, the platform retains $13.90 in fees, which significantly reduces reseller margins. This fee structure creates a challenging economic environment where resellers must balance the benefits of platform access against the costs of listing fees, final value fees, and promotional costs. The discussion explores how platforms like Poshmark and Mercari have attempted to compete by offering different fee models, but the fundamental challenge remains: platforms must balance their revenue needs with the need to keep sellers engaged and profitable.

Could the Gamestop Ebay Deal actually ruin resellers...Added:
do this like a hello trash to cash podcast. Who knows what Kevin's talking about? It's always confusing. How's it going everyone?
>> It's always just >> I'm Dave and happy Mother's Day. Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there.
>> Happy Mother's Day.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. Today we had Mother's Day two days ago.
>> Yeah. Two days ago was Mother's Day. But in case like no one wished you a happy Mother's Day because you're like a, you know, middle-aged man and not a mother, this is us wishing you a happy Mother's Day cuz no one ever wishes me a happy Mother's Day. Carrie, do they do they wish you one?
>> I feel like I feel like there's a big group of people coming here on a Tuesday that are wanting to hear happy Mother's Day from us three and and we're here to say it.
>> I need you guys to talk a cliff. I'm really really wanting a Tesla lately.
You're a Tesla.
>> Really? Oh gosh.
>> I saw this dumb I saw this dumb Tik Tok where the guy Have you seen it? It's this guy in Connecticut and he like he's like, "Yo, get me to the restaurant."
The car is just driving itself. And I'm like, "Oh, that's so nice."
>> You're kind of like already like, you know, respectfully Subaru.
>> You're like a borderline douche. You're borderline douche. You'll be full if you get a Tesla.
>> Oh, that's not very nice. There's people out there listening that have Teslas.
No, you just hurt our viewers feelings.
>> Yeah, it doesn't rally roots. Ryan roots and don't they have a test?
>> First off, there's only one I apologize for a cyber truck.
>> I apologize to test the motor because that is his brand. But outside of that, no one I apologize to. Just >> uh No, listen. I just like to self drive. Like if I just want any car that can do that level of self-driving because I hate driving.
>> And the way that it does it, it's like this guy's like, "Yeah, give me to the restaurant. Get get me there quick. And it's like dodging between cars and like just perfectly driving. I'm like that's so >> Get me there quick.
>> Break all >> Yeah.
>> all the trust into the machines.
>> Yeah. I don't know. I sadly >> professional. You guys have really, >> you know, we dropped the ball. See, I I thought when when Justin Resales comes out with a GameStop video with the CEO on it, >> I'm thinking to myself, I don't do interviews on my channel. I I thought for a split second during all this that >> but we have a surprise for you actually.
>> We could do trash to cash and I'm like I just there's no person in their right mind that would come and do a serious >> I'll drop the link I'll drop the link right now to Joselyn. She'll definitely join. Right.
>> Listen, I made a few I made a I made a few faxes. I faxed a few people >> and because this is the only way to get a hold of these people. I may have um the CFO, not the CEO. I'm not sure what a CFO is, but they're in there. A bonanza. A bonanza.
>> They're gonna come on here allegedly. I haven't contacted them yet, but I have sent a fax out.
>> Um allegedly.
>> Listen. Okay, so let's say so let's context. Justin Reels had the GameStop CEO >> robot guy on his channel. robot >> and it's kind of like a ro I'm kind of convinced he's an anttomaton or whatever but that I was impressed. I was a little jealous and then I watched and I was like I'm glad I don't have to interview this guy.
>> But it's just he's like a little bit like I don't know a little I don't know he's a little eccentric. Eccentric is the word.
>> I did a video about this whole thing right after we finished filming. I'm like I really don't want to do this video. So, it's, you know, it's too early to figure out whatever, but I did it anyways. And I caught him a bit of a nut on my on my um flipper video. And man, they could >> It wasn't eccentric. That was much safer what I said.
>> I understand that. But I was trying to channel >> I go I'm going to hedge our bets. I'm going to go with visionary just in case he is interested in coming on trash.
Listen, I he said himself he's like either this is going to be I can't it's not exact quote an utter failure disaster it's going to be brilliant right I was trying to make that point and I think I did during the video but I did call him a nut on the CNBC video and I was like you got it all out of context he hates I got it I got it I wasn't trying to insult the guy at all matter of fact I think Justin's video was terrific and and I think he's kind of brilliant regardless maybe I don't I I don't even want to I don't even want to characterize it because there's so much that came out in that video that was so telling of eBay. Forget the whole GameStop story. He hit the nail on the head of what a lot of sellers wanted to hear because they don't hear it out of eBay >> and I just thought it was a great great video. So Justin, nicely done.
>> Yeah, I was impressed. That was a good pull. Justin's always out there to impress them.
>> Well, it wasn't just a nice pull. It was a good interview on top of it in my opinion. Well, why wouldn't it be?
>> It almost feels like you're doubting Justin skills.
>> You could ask the wrong questions.
>> Yeah, but not if you're Justin resells.
>> That's true. That's a good point.
>> Come on.
>> Serious.
>> It was I watched 12 seconds cuz I think I accidentally clicked on it. So, that's as far as I will say like whatever words for it.
>> I can have my own opinion. The guy the GameStop guy is a little uncomfortable to watch for me. I don't know why. He's just like a little eccentric. And I was like I watched like 15 minutes. I was like I'm good.
>> Oh, you should watch the whole thing.
You really should. I'll try to You know what I should do is I should listen >> instead of watching it.
>> Yeah.
>> I think Yeah. I think I just listen to the audio one when I'm driving or something >> because there's really so much in there.
I wish you both would have watched the whole thing. We could talk about it.
>> You could have told us that >> and then I would have been doing that instead of shopping Teslas.
>> We do a reselling podcast. I figured two responsible people that cared.
>> I watched what matters. I watched Reseller Leftovers, Reseller Locker Room, like a year old episode, but it was still pretty good. It holds up. Go rewatch the locker room, folks. And I buy it all. I watched all three. Oh, and wait, what else did I watch? I watched like 30 seconds of Kevin's video.
Bailed. I watched about eight minutes of one of Car's videos, bailed. And then I pooped. Thank you.
>> In the toilet this I just want to say podcast.
>> Yeah. I want to say he may he may even be like a luminary possibly um uh progressive groundbreaking far-sighted precient forwardlooking >> utopian I don't know these not all these work. I just did synonyms for visionary cuz I want to I want to I want to be fair and balanced here. You guys are >> Dave hates him. Kevin, you know, is trying to get some some deal with GameStop. I just want to be consult or I want to be >> I don't need him. Well, I'll tell you one thing I thought is, you know, anybody with that kind of position, any anybody who is really trying to change the game, and I'm not talking about eBay, he's he there's really more of a battle between traditional stock market, you know, Goldman Sachs and all the whatever and, you know, all the hedge funds and everything and the retailers in the stock market. There's that's the battle. It's not really between eBay and GameStop or or it's a total new philosophy.
>> Here's what I will say. And I will say allegedly before and after this is highly alleged and >> I'm just going to say and I it it remind he reminds me of people that I've seen at parties >> that like things in their nose.
>> Oh my gosh, >> man. Definitely not. Could be a finger.
Could be a finger.
>> Could be a finger. Could be >> clowns. Like a clown. Allegedly.
Allegedly. Cuz they pull stuff from their nose, right? Like balloons and stuff. sniffing accountant episode of Seinfeld. Perhaps >> there's slathered alleged everything >> lots of alleged the none of this is based on fact.
>> One thing that struck me about his personality because I've watched a bunch and because he did different interviews on different things that gave totally different I watched him on like CNBC him >> and and this one gave a totally different perspective too in my opinion.
But anybody like that, my initial thought is they're going to be arrogant, you know, because you have to sell yourself like I'm going to run eBay from my house or whatever, you know, that was a joke, but it made a huge point was I find I found it to be far more modest than I thought I would.
>> He was, you know, you know, what would you do to change, you know, what would you I would listen to the resellers. Now whether that's true or not, I don't know. But let me tell you, but Reese, I think it's somewhat true if you look at his track record. But then there's so much out there that's unknown. Like I don't understand the whole Bed Bath and Beyond thing.
>> Is it Bed Bath and Beyond? Is that what it I don't >> Well, yeah, there's a whole section where you can buy remote controls that fast forward your life.
>> Don't ever fast forward through Love Making because you're going to regret that one.
>> Ask Adam Sandler. He went through >> normal speed. It's going to be over quick enough. You don't really have to fast forward. This is People want like Click references in 2026, right? Adam Sandler's Click. That's what they're looking for.
>> It is probably one of I'd say top three like remote controlbased movies of all time. The other one is that weird one.
Do you remember from the early >> That's a stretch. I've never I wouldn't call any Adam Sandler movie a think piece, but that's okay.
>> But do you remember that remote control movie from back in the day like where you would change channels and you would be like at a different like game show or something? And somebody knows what I'm talking about in the comments.
>> Just vaguely. Vaguely.
>> I'm going to look it up because that's important.
>> Yeah. Remote Control was a popular MTV comedy game show. Is that what you're talking about?
>> That's that. No, there was a remote control movie. It was uh >> was MTV.
>> It's kind of >> remote control 198.
>> It was a remote control where contestants stand. Yeah. I don't know what you're talking about.
>> You'll have to come back.
>> I'll have to figure it out.
>> Couch potato or something.
>> We'll figure it out. You guys talk amongst yourselves.
>> And who hosted that? That was interesting. See, it's nostalgia. And that's another thing you got to like.
You gotta like the old nostalgia feel of of eBay in this, too. I wish I did a video.
>> Oh, here we go.
>> Oh, well, I was just going to I was going to move on past the GameStop guy thing and the remote control talk.
>> Oh, I understand. I got >> So, finish what you were going to say.
>> No, it somewhat ties into that, but we'll get into it later. I got a list here, Dave. I got a list.
>> We'll check it twice. No, I I was just going to say you would have liked >> about 1992.
1992's uh classic John Ritter film Stay tuned. Um where he gets like stuck in TV shows.
>> John Ritter was the first >> game shows and all.
>> Yeah. And his dad >> never seen Stay tuned >> was a great country.
>> No >> country cowboy.
>> It just drives itself guys.
>> His dad was the tax rider.
>> Where's Where's this this puck? See what I'm thinking? I'm like like just is like I'm like you know >> why have the GameStop CEO on when we have we have this banter. This is better.
>> Exactly. 100%.
>> Listen. Okay. This is what I was going to say. You'd like this because and I don't think I I talked a little bit about it in my flipper video today.
>> But uh not many people watch those anymore.
>> I your thumbnail title the other day.
>> Did Did you like it? What was it? The other day, not today.
>> It almost made me click. Maybe it was today. I think it was today.
>> Yeah. Did I? You just do click as the title and >> not better than usual, you know.
>> Okay, so this is what happened. What you >> Let's dissect that answer.
>> They've got they've got a sty bear on a little lawn chair and three other artisal handbuilt bears, right? Artist bears.
>> Artist.
>> You love artisal bears. Great luck with them.
>> I actually have. And so I like these.
>> I like these and I want them. And I'm like, how much are the bears? And the lady comes over. She's like, "Well, are you a reseller or are you buying it to take care of it?"
>> That's where you put the camera.
>> I said, "No, the camera's out." I said, "I am a reseller." She's like, "Well, you only want to sell to people who are going to care for it and love it." And I said, "Well, >> I'm going to sell it on eBay, but the person that buys it from me will probably love it because they're going to pay top dollar, like a lot more than I would pay." And so I said, "The person that I sell it to will love it." And she's like, "I don't I don't know." And she just like walked away. And she wouldn't give me a price. And then my mom start my mom was with with me >> and mom starts talking to the actual guy who's going to sell him. He's probably anywhere from 90 to 99 years old.
>> Starts flirting with him.
>> Okay. So yeah, she's flirting with him a little bit and she's talking. My mom does collect bears. She has all these bears. Carrie knows in her living room and stuff. She's like a freaking wilderness lodge at this point in her living room. And so she wants these things for herself too. And so she starts talking, showing him the bear pictures, and he finally after like 10 minutes gives her a price of 25 for the sty. And then she's like, "What about this one?" And he's like, "You know, I'll tell you what, 15 each if you were to get them all."
>> So you a little bit of money behind the scenes.
>> Well, no. Like, so my mom can't take a freaking hint. And my mom's like, "Oh, okay. Well, which one do you like, Dave?" I'm like, "I like that one."
pointing at the stif because that's just like the I mean the artist bears will sell too but the stif's going to sell faster. It's got brand recognition. So I was like I like that one. She's like yeah I think I like this one. She points at the nonst. I was like okay mom. And then the lady comes back and she's like wait is he selling them to you? I was like I was like yeah he gave us a price and uh he I was like 15 for each of those ones.
>> And so so she's like well what about the stif? I said well he originally said 25 for the stif. She's like, "Okay." And she like walked away like looking all upset and I was like, "I'll just buy the sty for 25 bucks." So, I bought it. But it was a really weird interaction. Like, I'm not going to like lie to her and say I'm not going to sell it, but she's made it very uncomfortable.
>> But here's the thing.
>> They said they have a whole room of bears. It's a bear collection, but he's not really ready to get rid of them. And he doesn't want to sell them. He asked my mom like 10 times, "Are you going to take care of it? Are you going to take care of it?" And my mom's like, "Yes, I'll take care of it." like very attached like emotionally then you got something you know maybe that's means more than the money right >> yeah I guess so but I don't know it was just a very uncomfortable situation it remind me of Kevin always says says uh you always say that it's like >> this life is not made for those who are cursed with self-awareness >> no not that where you've you've talked about the whole idea of like >> I'm not going to love it but the person I sell it to is going to love it I've heard you say that a bunch of times so >> well yeah I don't even say at sometimes like I I hope I don't even let them know that I'm the reseller.
>> I'm going to He just says I'm going to make money off it.
>> I say somebody >> you're going to sell it to me cheap.
>> Maybe I was too honest about it.
>> I should have been a little bit more toy.
>> But you know if they say you know I hope >> Kevin lies by omission. That's Kevin's version of lying is by omission.
>> All right.
>> But yeah, that was awkward. But I I I was going to say we can talk picking.
>> Carrie picked this weekend. I did.
>> And I picked this weekend and Carrie got a little Tell me about Tell the audience about your Funko haul. Funkos are hot right now.
>> Oh. Oh yeah. Funko the Funko market on Ever since I got those Funkos, I firmly believe that the market is on fire until I sell them.
>> In the messaging and I'm like Carrie's like, "Oh, they got Funkos." I'm like, "What? What are you talking about?"
>> Well, what it was, it was more of a pricing thing than an item thing, if that makes sense. It's I'm just so enamored with going back to yard sales again >> and and actually not having to pay $7.99 for stuff like a thrift store.
>> So they were like a $150 each. A lot of them were vaulted like Monster High. Uh if you look up Monster High vaulted Funkos, even out of the package, 2530 bucks a piece.
>> So stuff if they're vaulted, you know, discontinued, they could have >> I didn't know they made Monster Funkos.
>> You know, when you said that this afternoon, I thought you meant U like the sequel to Monsters. Uh, eight.
>> No, Monster High. I'm talking Monster High like Draculaura and all that stuff.
>> I'm talking Laguna. I'm talking Claudine. I'm talking that one other lady and the other lady.
>> I would buy those for sure. Anything Monster High, I'll buy >> for a buck 50 a piece.
>> Yeah, it's it's an interesting concept.
It's a high school. It's a high school.
And the people like the the the characters in it, they're all monsters, but it's like Barbie. So, it's like Bizarro Barbie high school.
>> You getting >> with monsters? Dave, I wasn't finished explaining monsters. Hi. Um, that's all I know about it, but I'd like comment down below what you guys think.
>> We're taking this bit into everything.
>> No, I just I didn't make a lot of sense to me that you would have gotten rehooked on thrift stores in Florida, except for the fact that they're open late. That's the only part that makes sense to me.
>> No, that is 100% right.
>> Thrift stores are so bad.
>> Right.
>> They're so bad. The thrift stores, you're always like, I'm the thrift. I'm like, terrible. They are terrible in Florida except for Port Orange is pretty good. I'm not even joking. Port Orange is like average, you know, which is good enough for me to find stuff.
>> Did you end up going there today?
>> Uh, we didn't go. Did we? I don't even know.
>> We talked about it, but then you had to bring Shaden home, so I didn't know if you went back out. Yeah. So, we ended up skipping it time. Multiple days. Come out, man. You go out on a yard sale day, one day a week, two days a week, you fill your truck up.
>> Yeah.
>> Forget the rest.
>> Maybe if you're lucky. If you're lucky.
I didn't I didn't fill up my my vehicle this week, but I I got a bunch of like solid solid stuff. I I talked about it in my flipper video today, but like a bunch of stuff where I pay five and sell it for 70, sell it for 80, sell it for 60. Literally those three things happened. Three $5 items. 80. Actually, one was a $2 item, the eight track player that sold for 60. And it didn't even work.
>> Yeah, I knew that 60 bucks.
>> Yeah, it sold instantly. Sony, you don't see those. It powered on. I'll say it powered on, but when I plugged it into like a sub uh soundbar, it didn't. I think the little belt inside is probably >> most a tracks don't work either. So, you put those two together and it's good decoration.
>> Yeah. But yeah, so I got a $5 item, a reverse osmosis water filter. Five bucks. Sold it for what was it? 80 carry I showed you today. And then a $5 ham radio thing that I sold for 70. And then the $2 Sony Ara that I sold for.
>> We just bragged the whole show.
>> Oh, that's what we do here. I I just was like it was weird because I there was so few sales. It was so like I went to five sales on Friday and like 10 on Saturday, >> but everything I found was like >> big money like little money to big money stuff. It was it was all like bangers as Carrie would say in the card world.
>> No, a lot of bangers.
>> Well, I there was so many sales up here I couldn't go. There was stuff in Lynchburg, stuff in Rono, stuff in between. My boy had a game at one, so I couldn't stay out forever. But I spent so much money. I was like, I got to get this stuff listed. And I went a little bit on Friday because there's a couple sales. I went on Saturday till my boys game. And then I went today on a Sunday morning before church. And I spent I think I spent like 17 $1,800 the last three days. I'm like, good night. Almighty. I got to get this stuff listed. I spent I I spent I think $160, maybe $200 the whole weekend and I brought in like 2,000 in inventory.
>> It was pretty epic.
>> Welcome to Florida.
>> Yeah, it was pretty epic.
>> No, I mean most of it I spent today I made a huge buy. But >> what did you buy? You want to tell us or it's a secret?
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah, just some I bought some rod type stuff. Let's put it that way. Oh, paraphernalia.
>> Like you overpaid.
>> Adult adult content.
>> Steroids. Like undermarket.
>> What do you call it? Black market.
>> Black. Undermarket.
>> I think it's black market. Yeah, we'll call it whatever.
>> Undermarket. You paid undermarket for black market steroids. Correct. And probably I'm assuming Viagra.
>> The fir I went the first sale I went on Saturday. I bought more than the rest of the day combined. It was crazy. And I hopefully I got a link. I I bought something I've never seen before and I sent a little message around the rest.
>> This is good podcast. Yeah, just say you bought stuff. Don't tell us what it is.
>> Well, you know, >> nobody's gonna watch my videos. All right, fine. I bought >> Who watches this watches your show?
>> You probably didn't. I posted on Facebook, so it'll be good. So, it was a WWF hockey game.
>> Okay.
>> Hockey. I've never seen it before. And I was like, "Huh?" And I sent a picture.
He's like, "Oh, no way. Awesome." like it sells for like 250 or you can take the little piece little figures out and sell them separate. But I was like this is cool. But tons of great stuff just tons. I was like I bought a TV which I didn't love but it was a 10. You know those big TVs you know remotes and stuff.
>> Yeah. There was one at a sale I went to for three bucks and I was like nah I've gotten three in my container. I can't do it.
>> The confidence thing there's none listed and there's two sold both for over 250.
I'm like how do I not a lot. Maybe you're going to do it now that that Shaden's helping you ship and and you're getting Dawn helping for free right now until Shaden's >> See, you got to get your system. I was meant to ask you about this. So, you ought to set everything up. Like, are you not going to ship anything on your ship eBay?
>> Me?
>> Yeah.
>> I don't know. I I don't know. So, I had Shaden. So, Shaden comes with a free Dawn right now as like a fringe benefit, which is nice.
>> But, uh >> I I don't know. I I go by the way >> Jerry was there but he was not helping.
He was just hanging out with me.
>> Right. So you got to make it worth their while. Why don't you set up like >> So I want one day a week. One day a week.
>> I was thinking two days.
>> Okay. But why don't >> I understand. Okay. So that's why I asked you about >> that's what I was thinking like Tuesday and Saturday or something or Friday, whatever. I got to figure it out like do the math with my three-day handling I have on everything like which two days work for eBay. Maybe it's Tuesday and Friday or something that and then I set up my dibdit auctions. Two dibdit auctions a week. One like on Monday and one on Wednesday so that every time she comes she has the eBay and the dibdit to go through. Then it's like four to five hours of work each time.
>> Mhm. When I used to have Jess do the dit shipping it was one day a week we do two shows back when I was doing two shows which I might be doing again soon. And it was, you know, she'd ship for a long time because there was two shows worth of stuff. It made it worth worth it.
>> Yeah, that's that's Hey, before I forget, Carrie, I keep forgetting to tell you and Rod, if you're listening, which sometimes he listens, there's a River City Wrestling Con in St. Augustine. And there's gonna be meet and greets with Goldberg, Rey Mysterio, Trish Stratus, Amy Lita, Tory Wilson, The Great Khali, Mick Foley, Dusty Rhodess, Dustin Rhodess. Yeah, that's the old one. Dusty.
>> Yeah, Dusty Roads better not be that would be really weird.
>> Darby Allen.
>> Uh, now it's getting lamer. People I don't know. Oh, Lex Luger. I remember him. Jake the Snake.
>> Yeah.
>> Uh, dude, like literally everyone is going to be there. Rick Steiner. New Age Outlaws.
>> Buffalo might not make it. When is this thing?
>> Like next week or next month. It's I think it's June 1st or something like that. The boogeyman. I don't know. It sounds >> boogie woogy man.
>> Yeah, we might want to go to this boogie woogie man. It's only in St. August.
>> If they got if they got the rockers and and mostly Marty Janetti, I'll be there because Marty Janetti >> Marty Janetti Marty Janetti is going to be there.
>> It's only$170. Well, it's actually it's $57 to go.
>> 57 just go in, but you have to pay for the autographs of everybody.
>> Oh, you have to pay for the autographs.
Is that how that works?
>> Yeah, but it was $57 to get all their autographs. Oh my gosh. It'd be worth it just for Boogeyman.
>> No. No. What? I got boogie woogeie man autograph for 15 boogeyman autos for $57.
>> Oh yeah, you're right. Okay, autograph with Rey Mysterio is a hundred bucks.
>> And if you want to get an autograph and a selfie, it's 159. I feel like I feel like they're missing an opportunity like like I feel like it'd be cool at these wrestle cons like if you paid more and like Rey Mysterio did like a jump off the top and just like you like for 300.
Scott Steiner. I mean, Mysterio's still out flipping around.
>> He's young.
>> Lex Luger's in a wheelchair. What are you gonna do?
>> I'll send this to Rod.
>> Rod, should we go? I think it's on my daughter's birthday is the only problem.
So, maybe maybe not.
>> Rod should go.
>> She'll have a birthday next year, though. She'll have a birthday next year. You should do it.
>> She does. Well, I've missed a lot. Well, not a lot, but I missed three of her birthdays when I had a job because it was always when there was this event uh in V LA that I had because there's the you should have she could go to the She likes wrestling, right? Like River She Lex Luger fan. A >> well, she likes gymnastics. I could tell her it's I could tell her it's gymnastics.
>> Like, yeah, this is gymnastics, honey.
>> So, you know how I say I never get mad at people's lowball offers on eBay cuz you know, we're out there making offers and stuff. This one I shared Dave didn't comment. Carrie found it intriguing. So >> I read it. I read it.
>> You did. Rawling is a is a brand new catcher glove, but it's not high-end.
It's Rawlings, though. $39.90 plus shipping. Guy sends a message, if you can do 19 bucks free shipping, we we would have a deal. Like, man, that's that's some hard that's half off and free shipping. So I responded, if you could do 38 plus shipping, we would have a deal. He said, what if?
So passive aggressive. I love it.
>> He says, "What if I review if I do a review on the item?
I can do a review on the item and tell him where I got it from. I'll pay for the shipping, too." I said, "Tell who where you got it from?" He says, "You.
I'll tell you where I got it from." I go, "This guy trolled me here."
>> Anyway, I didn't make the deal. Carrie would have taken it.
>> Oh, yeah. I would have been like, "Thank you for buying something.
>> I paid $10." I if I were Kevin, I would have said, "Oh, thank you for the offer.
I have enough. I'll go ahead and do one for the the people who need a glove and give them a deal." That's what I would have done if I were Kevin. If I were me, I wouldn't have done it because it's a terrible deal. But if I were Kevin, I would have done it.
>> Okay. I don't know. I Elijah was talking to me, so I missed some stuff. But hi, I'm back. How's it going? How's that honey you're selling, Kevin? Yeah, I I jumped I saw one the other day on I I really only sell them on Dit, so I haven't been doing D show, but I will have one yesterday, which is tomorrow for me doing a comic show.
>> Did cards and comics.
>> Well, I was supposed to I was supposed to do a dibbit show tonight. I know.
>> But Tina reminded me Yeah, Tina reminded me that she works the next three days and then I'm out of town with Carrie and then maybe I should not do a dibdit show tonight and hang out with her. So I hung out with her and we went out to dinner with the kids and >> you know so we spent some time >> I actually mentioned that today to my wife this morning. I'm like Dave's doing a show today on Monday.
>> Yeah I pushed it to tomorrow. So tomorrow night >> look good.
>> She's like well >> yeah well I didn't do it. Tina talked me out of it. Well Tina of course is like you know she was like you can do it.
It's fine. But I was like nah it's that's a good point to remind you it was Mother's Day.
>> No dude. Okay Carrie. What did I do for Mother's Day?
You went to your mom.
>> Dave invited me over and also my wife Don, but I was I was over there and I had I celebrated Mother's Day with bacon and some really good eggs that had like butter and fat in it. I think like it was pretty good eggs. I had biscuit with a country gravy. Kevin, >> I didn't have any waffles were available. Waffles were available.
Dave made all the Belgian. Yeah, from Belgian. And then Oh, yeah. No, there was s Kevin. Oh my gosh, dude. The sausage. the pig sausage. It was awesome.
>> There was hash browns with cloves of garlic.
>> I paid for the whole >> You probably wouldn't want to be near the potatoes, Kevin, just based on you and your, you know, being a vampire.
>> The potato vibe and people might eat him.
>> No, that was a that was a remember how he he let people to stay young. We This is an old reference. I felt like >> I made a smorgusborg as the moral of the story.
Ina said, I said, "What do you want for Mother's Day?" She said, "I want biscuits and gravy." I said, "Okay, I see your biscuits and gravy, and I make all this other crap, too." And then my mom and dad came over and Carrie and Don and Shaden came over and we had a nice brunch >> at a Tropical Seven Up Zero. Not a good choice.
>> Like grapefruit. It was awful.
>> Yeah.
>> Would you buy those, Carrie?
>> You You look like a California raisin.
I'm just I'm trying. I'm trying since I can't talk about, you know, ground.
>> Well, I saw you went out to dinner with your wife for Mother's Day. Did you bring the kids?
>> No. No. That was an old picture. I I didn't I did go out with her, though.
>> Oh, so your channel is just fake news.
Is that what you're telling me?
>> No, I It wasn't fake news. I didn't say I took what's a what's a nice romantic dinner out with Kevin like? Are you just telling her what you sold on eBay that day?
>> No. No. No. We don't talk about eBay.
>> But like in a real nice way, though. No, a nice romantic dinner.
>> The only time Kevin talks with his wife about eBay is when he's yelling at her.
>> Actually, I did yell at her. Actually, I didn't yell, but I bought a I bought a cat I'm I'm out garage selling on Saturday morning with my dad and I see this sale come through. I'm like, "What the heck? How'd that even get listed?"
And it was well under market. I'm like, "Man, it didn't even have a picture loaded yet from List Easier and it sold that quick." I'm like, "There's this is sold for 25." And I'm like, I know the comps on that. It's $45.
>> So I sent her a thing and she's like, well, if you if you want to do it yourself, you can do it.
>> I was like, >> I was like, it's fine. We paid 15 bucks on that, sweetie.
>> That is like that's why I kind of like the idea of paying someone to ship for me instead of someone to list for me because I'm kind of obnoxious about like what it listed for and what it sold for.
And even if I would have listed for the same amount, I can see myself being like, "Oh, why'd we list it so low?"
Like just being a douchebag like I am.
>> She does a good job and I make mistakes all the time, too. So >> So, but >> Well, no, I do too. But I just like, you know, it's >> you don't view your own mistakes the same way you view others mistakes.
>> Yeah. No doubt about it. No doubt about it.
>> No doubt. When you do it yourself, it's like, h, screwed up. Move on. Right. and somebody else does it, you want to be like, >> "No, I feel I feel intense pain when I screw stuff up." I don't know what you two are babbling on about.
>> You're afraid of >> You guys not have no self-awareness or something >> cuz Don will get mad at you.
>> Yeah, I got it.
>> Exactly. I'm in a different >> thinks he screwed stuff up even when he doesn't. He'll buy something that like sells for $5 and be like, "Oh, why did I buy this? Why did I pay $5 for this?"
And I'm like, "Carrie, you did great."
True. No, I'm an idiot.
>> No. Yeah, there's a lot of Yeah. I don't have time to to be so confident with all the self-doubt.
>> It's it's my armor is what makes me strong.
>> A Lynchberg special community yard sale on a Saturday and there was it it listed four streets. There was one sale.
>> I hate it when they do that.
>> Gosh.
>> That was like the community sale. So, okay. So, here's here's a question. I go to the sale. They're not up yet. It starts at 9:00. I thought it started at 8 community sale, but there were some people having the sale. So, I went to a few of these houses and I was doing okay. And I go to like the third house and the lady is like just opening her garage and starting to set stuff up. I was like, "Hey, how's it going?" She's like, "Well, you're early." And I'm like, "Oh, okay. Well, can I look around?" She's like, "I guess." I was like, "Oh crap." Like, she doesn't want me here. But she let me look around. And when I looked around, first of all, she had a really cool bike for sale, like a electric bike, a trike, where it's like got the one front wheel and the two back wheels. But that was 700 carry. I know you and I would had fun riding it, but I decided not to do it because we probably would lose money for the Tesla.
>> I just want like one of the leather helmets that you wear for the side guard. That's all I want.
>> So, but but she she's like the tools I think for sale are for sale, too. And I look and it's a giant 6ft tall Snap-on tool chest. Giant thing, six foot chest of Snap-On, six foot chest of Mac. I open it up, there's like freaking high-end stuff in there, but there's also a lot of not high-end. So, it's an just the toolbox itself is probably a $1,000 toolbox local, right? It's not great. It's not in great condition, but it's still probably $1,000 toolbox.
>> How tall is the toolbox?
>> Taller than me.
>> It's like five and a half, six feet.
It's big. It's like a double double layer one with all these different drawers. Snap-on. And then there's a Mac one next to it. And I was like, man, this is freaking nice. And I open it up and I start kind of going through it and I get like a a thing of sockets that are snap-on. And I've got that in my hand.
She said tools. So I'm like probably just some of the tools. I'll just grab a few things. And I'm looking and there is a lot of drawers with like just SK, which is a decent brand. It's what I bought when you were here, Kevin. I just sold a socket set for 25 bucks, but it's not like Snap-On where the socket sets are 100 bucks plus.
>> And uh I found a Snap-On hand tool. And then I found a couple Micrometers uh Mi Mitutomo or whatever, which are always good.
>> Yeah. And so I I have these in my hand.
And the guy comes out and he's like really cranky cuz he like definitely just got dragged out of bed by his wife cuz I was looking at the tools.
>> And uh I was like, "So you're selling your tools?" He's like, "Yeah, I want to, but I don't want to sell them like you got them." Something like that. Cuz I had them in my hand. He's like, "I want to sell all of it."
>> I said, "Okay, you know, I'm open to that. Like what are you thinking for all of it?" He's like, "Probably at least 2500." And I was like, "Oh, >> well, >> I don't really want to do that." Cuz like listen, I do think it was probably four grand worth of stuff. Maybe even five grand if I got a little extra for the tool. Like it wasn't a bad deal, but not really what I'm looking for >> for these giant heavy tool boxes to lug them around. And I said, "Well, would you consider just selling me the stuff in my hand? You probably could still get 2500 for the rest, which you probably can."
>> And he was like, "Oh, I don't know, man." I was like I was like, "Well, it's up to you." And he's like, "Well, how much would you give me?" I was like, "I'd give you 40 for what I got here."
He's like, "They're worth a lot more than that." I said, "Yeah."
>> He's like, "All right." He took the 40 bucks. I was like, "All right."
>> I was like, >> I I was a little off on the micrometer thingy. I thought it was worth 300. It looks like it's worth about 200, but then the other one I listed for 89. And then the socket set's probably 125. So, it's still like 400. And the hand tool is 15 bucks. So, it's probably like 400 bucks worth of stuff for 40. So, 10x. It was a good flip. It was a good flip. I had a video the other day where I came across a nice big, it was like a 4ft tool box, Craftsman, good shape, >> and had tools in it. It wasn't jam-packed with tools. So, I started going through it and I saw one Snap-On or two Snap-On wrenches.
>> Okay.
>> And some Mac stuff and a Mac socket set.
And I he wanted 350 bucks. And I I kind of hemmed and hawed because there was some other stuff in there.
>> How much did he want? 350 and depends >> on what's in there.
>> I know, but there was I I only saw two Snap-On and one socket set of Mac and then a few a couple other Mac pieces and the rest of it was just kind of it was full, but it was full of just not not tools even, just stuff.
>> Yeah.
>> And I told him no. Or I told him I might come back later because I was coming back through there and man, I got ripped in the car. You should have bought that.
You should have bought that. you know, Mac tools or >> Well, okay. There's one Mac tool for Well, there's a socket set and at least one Mac tool, maybe two, and then two um Snap-ons. He would not sell them. It went into 350 for the batch. And and he said right off the bat, 350. And I'm not budgeting.
>> Well, how many So, how many other socket sets that were Mac do you think were hiding in there? Did you look through everything?
>> I looked through every drawer.
>> I didn't see I just wasn't going to do No. People overvalue the tool boxes from craftsmen.
Like my dad's the same way. He's like, "Oh, you left a Craftsman toolbox for $100." Cuz my mom sent in my picture.
They know how much that stuff.
>> Yeah. I was like, "Dude, 100's what I'd get for it." Like it's just not that.
People aren't Craftsman is like, >> not to offend, but it's a bit of a boomer brand >> because back in the day they did lifetime replacements at Sears and people are like stuck on this, but it's not like that anymore. It's just kind of a crappy brand now. And now it's all muddied. The water's all muddy. Like, >> you know, it's like when they start selling a brand at Walmart and all of a sudden it's not a high-end brand. It's kind of like a junk brand.
>> Are you telling me and one isn't good anymore?
>> Well, exactly. But tennis is shoes.
>> Yeah, that's that's my point. Like, and that's same thing with Craftsman in my opinion. It's it's kind of like it's got this like storied history and there is some stuff worth selling on Craftsman like the box wrenches and what's it the double Y whatever. There's like model numbers you can learn. Check out uh Leroyy's channel. Does he still do videos?
>> No.
>> No. He used to do some good videos about it. But yeah, that there is good craftsman. But based on what you just said, I wouldn't have bought it at 350 either. I would have wanted to be at like 100 150 cuz I don't want to deal with the toolbox.
>> It's a pain in the butt to freaking load it in your car and >> flips. What I did think about it, what what really made it tempting to me is that new building out there. And that's a nice piece to have in that big building for all my shipping stuff and tools and whatever that I could use.
>> But still, I'm like, I'll come across a better deal at some point. What was funny is the very next weekend I saw him at a sale. Well, there's two things actually. You might not find him funny.
The first was I was at a sale buying jewelry. Do you remember the big jewelry buy? I was buying stuff for a quarter, 50 cents. Turned out to be good. And I'm picking out of this box and this table full of stuff. Well, the very next week was the sale with this craftsman thing.
And that box of jewelry was at his yard sale at that point. So, he had bought what I didn't pick and put it there. I didn't recognize it.
>> I bought the whole box because I regretted the week before having a jewelry deal and not buying everything because of the one piece I might have missed. And so, I bought that whole box for 15 or 10 bucks. Was that piece still there?
>> I found Well, I didn't know there was a piece there. I just I I looked through it pretty good the first week, so I wasn't sure, but I didn't know it was that box. It Andrew calls me up, the guy who does my videos. He's like, "Do you recognize this box?" I'm like, "What are you talking about?" He's like, "You bought jewelry out of this box the previous week and now it's at that guy's yard sale." So that guy goes out to sales, >> buy stuff.
>> Is he a reseller?
>> Yeah. He's the one who determines the value of my popcorn lights >> unless he's a YouTuber and then he's not a reseller.
>> It's fake.
>> You know, you can't have another job and be a reseller.
>> It's true.
>> Yeah, that's what I hear.
>> You can't have a real job and a reselling job.
>> I've done that before. I think I told you last week that I bought a maybe I just told Carrie. I don't know if I said it on the show, but I went I was at a community sale and Tina was also running a yard sale and I bought a skateboard like a ride-on skateboard missing the remote for 15 with Harold to Tornado and I brought it back to my house and put it for sale at my house cuz it was huge and I didn't want it so I put a $50 price on it and some guy came up and I sold it to him for 40 the same day in the same neighborhood.
>> Very nice.
>> Like 30 bucks, whatever.
>> Take it.
>> People do it, man.
>> Easy money. it the very next week. It was the same. Let's see. Yeah, it was the week after. So, it was three week period. We're at a sale and that guy's there and he's like, "Hey, weren't you the guy that was going to come back and look at that Craftsmith thing?" And he's out buying at another yard sale. And I'm like, "Sorry, bud. I didn't come back."
And he's like, "Will you help me?" He's got a snowblower he just bought at this yard. So, he wants me to help him load it into his car.
>> Well, Kevin probably was like, "What's in it for me?" And then just laughed in his mouth. Well, I was I mean I was fart in the mouth.
>> The two people you don't want to ask for help lifting stuff is me and Kevin.
We're about both equally useless.
>> Regard >> for different reasons.
>> I I don't know. I think that I had like a brainworm all weekend about those tool boxes. That's not like the whole weekend I was like I should go back. I should go back. But like every time I thought I should go back, I'm like, "Well, what is the play though if I go back?" Like I think there was more good tools, but he's not going to let me dig through them. And I'm so far off of 2500, right?
I'm at 1,200. I would if he had said 1,200, I would have had to like truly consider it based on what he had there because I do think it was it would have been a good flip at 1,200. But I I'm not going to go back there because he even said to me, he's like, "I don't really care if I sell it." And you know, whenever they say half and see if he'll deliver it to you for free. That's why I I read this thing because that's half.
But that's what I did today. Lady won $1,400 >> for a bunch of stuff >> and I offered her $850 and she took it like that.
>> It's kind of karma though, right? It's kind of karma for you.
>> Yeah.
>> For all the lowballing.
>> Yeah. Well, I just said no and she said yes. Which is, you know, that's the way you do this thing, right?
>> Yeah.
>> We always say they could say no. Well, I'd just say no.
>> Yeah. I think it's always worth it's probably worth I I feel like I should have gone back Saturday afternoon like at noon or whatever and been like, "Hey, you still got all those tools cuz I give you 1,200."
>> Yep.
>> You know, and maybe I could have gotten them. Same with the bears. Like I still think about those bears like that guy's bear room. Like maybe I could have gotten them to let me in it >> and just make an offer on all of them.
But I don't know. He was so emotionally attached. That was the play on what I what I bought today because I got a call on Friday, I think, from it because that was a three-day garage sale and I was like, you know, I'll just I'll just wait.
>> She called me back on Sunday. I was like, >> hey, you know, >> yeah, a lot of the stuff like a lot of the stuff you put at a yard sale just doesn't sell. And at the end of the day, the way you feel is like, dang it, I did all this work and I still have all this garbage. Like >> I tried to do I think we talked about it last week. I was going to do this sale where I do it's been a long week. if that was just last week. Uh where I was going to do clothes, like boxes of clothes on Dibdit and it went horrible.
Just like absolutely horrible. I'm selling a box a 12 x 12 x 12 full of clothing for $2.
>> And I was like, well, okay. So, I did like five of them and then I was like, all right, I'm done and I'm just going to get rid of them. And so, they literally ended out on the street and I put up a sign saying free clothes and like five garbage bags of clothing just got picked up by random people. But like, you know, it there's so much when you try to do bulk stuff like that.
There's got to be it having bad stuff in it. Like you could have the same amount of stuff or you could just take the good stuff and have that and it would sell for more than all of it, >> right? I think because I was putting stuff that was legitimately I paid up for that was good. I was putting them into the boxes to make the boxes even more appealing. Like, hey, here's a $30 item. I did that with a few items that I got at like estate sales. It didn't help at all. They still sell them for two bucks and I was like >> we don't want the junk which is also presents an opportunity right it's why storage unit people do well it's why state sale people do well you know so car >> but why are people buying pallets of clothes from Tekken >> well I think it's a different style I mean I think there are some people that >> you got to find those people that want to do the $8 items >> right do you think everything in there was even worth $8 some things worth He I I don't know. I don't know about his clothes. Yeah, but I mean I don't know.
>> You're right though. Like >> you know you watch these people and whatnot who are just selling clothes that are very mid for $3 a piece. $3 a piece. You know what I mean? Like there is people who do it or there are people who do it, >> but I don't know that those how do you get those exact people into your auction? And so that anyways it was an interesting learning experience. I did a normal auction and did pretty well with the the normal stuff uh a few days later. So, >> yeah, I'm trying to get back into the auctions. How did the card auction go?
>> Crazy good. Awesome. Love >> really.
>> Oh, yeah. 640 bucks. I still only regret I have is not really ticking Tim off because he helped me set the thing up and get an audience for me is I still have some left and I want to get it done before I ship this. And most people are like, "Just don't ship it. Don't ship it. Do it again." And I've got like half an hour's worth of stuff I want to get gone, but I haven't had time to do it.
So, but it went really good.
Dibbitcards.com. That was awesome.
Comics is going to go good tomorrow, which is yesterday for you guys watching.
>> That's on normal dip.
>> Yep. That's going to be a good show. Um, it's it's always a good show for me when I know I'm I mean, I'm already in a profit on that deal that I bought that day, so I don't care what it goes for.
And so, I'm throwing out deals. Whenever you're do doing that, then you start to get an audience, you start to get bits.
So, I'm happy. Carrie, how did the Funko You didn't finish the Funko Pop thing.
Did you buy them?
>> Yeah. No, I bought them. I mean, like there was a whole table full of like the smaller stuff like the Adorables and just random, you know, Disney Funko Pop type stuff. Don bought a lot of that and I bought the box of Funko. I've already sold some. I've made almost all the money back already, you know. Um, it was cool stuff. Like there was like Figoral, you know, bag clips, you know, like the blind bag stuff for like My Hero Academia and stuff like that. That was a pretty good buy. Um, you know, I'm just kind of I've been kind of out of it for a little bit with that part of picking.
I've been focused so much on going to card shows. Like I went traveled like over three hours this weekend, you know, back and forth to card shows. So, um, it's kind of nice to go to a yard sale.
I hadn't done it much the until the last couple weeks.
>> I came across a Funko table the other day and I thought I was dealing with this lady because she was cheap, wanted stuff to go. But when it was Funko Pop time, the boy came over, her kid came over. like and it was two bucks a piece so it wasn't like outrageous and there was a table well I don't know how many there were 20 30 something like that and I had already looked up a couple that I thought were interesting and one of them was worth 25 bucks and I was like hey I'll give you a dollar a piece for all of them or I'll give you two bucks for this one he said two bucks for that one I'm like >> Funkos are not like you know like Avon and stuff like that there are a lot of Funkos that are worth some money there is also just a ton of Funkos and Most of them aren't worth much, but you know, I mean, when when we when I moved here, we were at the Browns, Dave, you were there and I we got all those Funkos from that guy.
>> I was picking up all the the mascots, college mascots. Those are 40 50 bucks a piece.
>> Um, they're all gone. Yeah, I sold everything from that. So, I mean, that was that was killer. Those those we made a ton of money on that. So, >> there's nuance to it.
>> There's definitely some Funkos worth selling, too. A lot of times I like boxes like I bought that are loose because they don't ask that much. You know, they're they're next to nothing.
And usually if you get a big box, you're finding a couple vaulted ones that make you a profit and then everything else is filler, you know, for auctions or whatever.
>> Is that a sale? Speaking of those items that sometimes can be worth a ton and you just don't know. I was I I was getting some Pyrex and I just saw a stack of Pyrex and you know, one was a blue butterprint one and I was like, "How much for these?" She's like eight bucks. So, I just took them all. I didn't even look them up till I got home and I had some winners. But because I was doing that, there was one other picker there and he's digging through the toy thing and he pulls out the these little people and he shows >> some little people are worth a ton of money. Oh, yeah.
>> It's crazy. I've seen >> I think little people are priceless, Kevin. My mother's a little person.
>> Me, too.
>> I'm a little person.
>> Yeah.
>> Carrie was making fun of my height today.
family letting you know >> Callie is now taller than you.
>> Callie is taller than me now and he was mocking me for this and I as a little person forgot how short you are. Like sometimes I >> My mom and my aunt are shrinking like crazy too. Like this is a real epidemic.
The the shrink I my mom was 5'11 my whole childhood. I swear she's about 5'8 at this point.
>> What? 411. 411 to 48. I >> was going to say I've seen her mom. She was >> 411. She's like 48 now. like she has shrunk significantly. I was like, "Mom, you're kind of getting smaller."
>> I know, David.
>> My mom's almost 84. She has scoliosis.
She was like 5'7. She's probably 54 now.
I don't even know. She's much shorter cuz she's got scoliosis. So, >> let us know how many inches in the comments, guys. How many inches have you shrunk? Have you shrunk is the question.
Carrie's internet's pretty rough today, but it it should be fine in the in the post, so I wouldn't stress.
>> Yeah. I'm sorry, man. I don't know exactly how to fix it. That's the problem.
>> Yeah.
>> Did you shave your legs?
>> You might have me beat for the weekend.
I just have this feeling. I've got 31 sales, but the dollar amount is not terrible.
>> Oh, for the weekend. How do I look at that? Can I just look at the sales for the weekend?
>> When did you ship last?
>> Um, whenever Shaden came over. I don't know. When did you come over? Carrie Thursday.
>> Thursday.
>> We're here. Oh, well, we were here this morning, but yeah, Thursday was the >> No, the previous time.
>> Whatever sales you have right now. I haven't She shipped again. Well, oh, she shipped today.
>> She shipped today after the Mother's Day brunch. Yeah.
>> Oh my gosh. So, you fed her. Did you take that off her pay?
>> I didn't. I should have >> I can just do What I can do, Kevin, is like just hit last week. I can tell. It wasn't that amazing. But my last week was uh 24.29 on eBay.
>> 2429.
>> So, yeah, I had a slow week. So, whoop, that didn't work. Oh, it's cuz I'm doing a waiting shipment. Carrie, do it for your Mari.
>> All orders. Let's see.
>> Okay, I'll do it.
>> Car's pulling out the abacus. Mari doesn't have things like reports.
>> I think they do. I don't know where that they are. That's depressing. I don't want to compare myself to you guys.
>> No, you almost got me. I had I I knew I had a bunch of sales. Just I've not been selling anything highriced. I don't have that much, but I've got to list it. I've got tons of stuff worth money I got to list. But it's tough. stuff.
>> Well, I cheated a little bit because I sold my Meta glasses for 300 bucks. So, that's kind of inflating my numbers.
That's just a personal item that I lost money on. I also sold a 3D printer.
Well, to be fair, Tina sold my 3D printer because I wanted more space and I had five and so I sold my cheapest one so I could put them all on one shelf.
>> Somebody didn't sell this at a garage sale.
>> No, no, Facebook. So, >> and I paid $500 for it and I sold it for $425 or something like that. So, and I used it for 800 hours. So, actually it was pretty good.
>> But I I pushed all four of them onto one shelf. So, now I freed up the whole top of a shelf with more space.
>> And I sold it. And this guy was like really cool that came and bought it. And I was like printing stuff and we were chatting and he's like making a new surfboard that he thinks is going to revolution. I love the 3D printer mind.
It's going to revolutionize surfboards.
But he's really nice. He works for uh Blue Origin Carrie, which I thought was pretty cool down in wherever the Port Canaveral, Cape Canaveral or whatever.
That's the Amazon spaceship company.
>> I just don't feel like that's the thing like I mean >> I don't know if I want a a new surfboard which isn't, you know, kind of a you want it to be safe. I don't know if it if I want it printed from a 3D printer.
>> Well, you can print it in carbon fiber.
That's a strong material. Like you can print in something better than PLA. It's just there's a lot of toxic fumes.
That's why I don't mess with that crap.
I don't want to get, you know, dead >> if I don't have to. Speaking of get that eventually, >> I thought today I got a message from Dave and I thought, Dave, is is it are you dying? Like, what what's going on? I don't understand. Is this a bit or are you going to or is there like bad >> No, I just was feeling appreciative for you, Kevin. I'm sorry. I just sent Kevin a nice message. I'm sorry, Carrie. I can like, you know, I can hang out with him and, you know, we can support each other all the time. I don't usually support Kevin, so I sent Kevin a supportive message.
>> Yeah. and then just said he watched 30 seconds of my video today. So, thanks.
>> Well, there's I support you as a friend, not a content creator.
>> We're just here whether you're rich or not, Kevin. We're just here as your friends. The fact that you're rich and out of touch has nothing to do with our friendship.
>> I feel like I'm somewhere in between Dave and Rod right now. I'm spending so it's I'm It's like I don't mind spending money, but I have a pile of stuff. I've got a list >> and because I've been buying so much lately. It's like this is irresponsible.
This is, you know, Dave, right? Rod does this, too. He spent it's like, man, >> but I'm sure Rod's getting the stuff listed and, you know, I didn't list today's Mother's Day and stuff. But speaking of >> Yeah, I didn't get much work done.
Listen, Kevin.
>> Yeah.
>> I can get 27,000 for my Subaru to Carvana and the Tesla's 29. So, it's really only two grand.
>> Sell another printer or two and you're good >> to cover the difference for the Tesla.
But then I think I'd have to get a charger installed.
>> What's that? I think I' I I think I've owned the same automobile.
>> I have a real car problem. I always have. I've always had a car. Ask Ask Tina. I'm constantly changing cars. It's like rearranging my garage. Anyone who watches my content, >> I've seen it.
>> Yeah. I constantly am shifting cars.
Tina's just like fine with whatever >> driving the same stuff.
>> Yeah. I got a I don't even have air conditioning in my Honda that's 20 something years old. And you guys are talking about >> $29,000 cars. It doesn't even compete with me.
>> No, I'm not talking about that. The problem is I just I'm I really love self-driving. I don't ever get a self-driving car. It ruins you for cars.
Like I >> pay somebody to drive you.
>> I do to show fur. That's not You think Shaden would do that too?
>> Make her wear the hat.
>> The little hat.
>> You I wanted her to like wear a suit though, like a penguin type suit and be like, "Mr. Dave, welcome." And she opens the door.
>> Money.
>> Yeah, dude.
>> Gray poop.
>> Actually, I want to change my name to Money Penny. Isn't that the girl from Bond? I don't know.
>> Okay, I want to show you. We're going to play our little game here. Let me share my screen. You guys got sales? We can do some guessing games. That's always fun.
>> But, uh, I'll do my zoomed in game here.
Uh, this one's a pretty easy one today.
>> I think Carrie's going to get it.
Carrie's going to have questions probably about these items.
>> Let me see.
>> That's my guess. But, uh, here we go.
>> Pool sticks.
>> Um, like >> guess is pool sticks. What's the composite nature of this item?
>> I can't give you any details till you see the whole item. It's guessing until you see the whole item.
>> All right. Okay. Is it um Gosh, is it a Shira? Is it a Shira action figure?
>> That's really close. I picked up. All right.
>> Oh crap. I know. Um >> Carrie has a big advantage.
>> Is it Connect 4?
>> Carrie saw stuff shipped today. I'm so confused.
>> Oh, that is true. I did see stuff shipped. It does. I don't remember any of it though. Oh. Oh, man. Oh, wait.
Dude. Dude, >> that's cool.
>> Is it something that you sold >> out guys who are audio? Yes, I sold this. Yes.
>> Oh, it's something you sold on eBay.
Okay.
>> Is it um Are those four five >> Is it five pixelated video? Oh, I know what it is.
>> It's Is it a track tapes?
>> Those are good.
>> What's the What is What is the form of How did they digitize? No, no, that's the wrong word. Oh, hit and run. Death Ride Miami. Oh, it's stupid books that you bought. Dumb books.
>> A lot of dumb books.
>> It's a bad buy.
>> Able team. That wasn't a bad buy, was it?
>> Yeah. No, it was not a bad buy at all.
What does it say?
>> It end up listing all together.
>> I'd love to read all of those for all of them. Not this set. I got hundreds of books. This is just one set of books.
>> This is a set of what is it? 59 books.
So, what do you think it sold for? 59 books.
>> Do Do I want to guess?
>> Are they paperback?
>> I'll wait for this.
>> Are they paperback?
>> Yeah, they're paperback. Yeah.
>> Are they out of stock? Are they Are they out of stock? Are they still producing them?
>> No, they're they're very old.
>> They're very old. About how old roughly?
>> Uh what the guys in the comments would like to know? Like just give me a rough estimate. Give me like a 50-year estimate. Like a 50-year period. I think the guy read them when he was in the war. She said, >> "I don't know which war though."
>> Well, it would definitely be in Iraq or after >> he was a navy he was a navy guy >> like roughly like could we say like between the great war and >> there 80 years.
>> Okay. But he read them in the '8s.
>> Was there a war in the 80s?
>> Iraq war started in 90.
>> Oh, Korea. Soviet cold war.
>> The name of the protagonist. That might help us get the the error.
>> The year Iran Iraq war was 80 to 88.
>> That's Iran Iraq war. That's 80 Soviet >> Iran versus Iraq. Not the United States.
>> Was it like during the Afghanistan like 83 comp or maybe Granada early?
>> May well invasion of Granada was in 83.
Okay. So that does clear some things up.
>> Um 59 books, correct? Paperback.
>> Oh yeah. Yeah.
>> Now is that like a full color bleed on the cover? Does the back cover does the back also have like full color?
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> Nice. Does the print have a guess?
>> 90 19 901 was the Iraq war. Is that your guess? 1991.
>> Yeah. The second was 2003.
No, my guess is $199.
Okay. Carrie, >> who wrote it?
>> Uh, what's this? Uh, >> who's the author of Able Team?
Oh gosh, I can't remember and I can't see it.
>> Well, how am I supposed to guess on the >> value? Don Pendleton and Dick Styver.
>> Yeah, then it definitely was Granada era. Um because Don Pendleton's known for that.
>> It's an executioner series.
>> Oh, no. It's also Dick. Dick Stewarters.
>> Dick Styver.
>> Oh, Dick Styiver. And so it's >> these actually look kind of fun. If you guys have read these in the comments, let me know if I should like try to find audio.
>> Can you zoom in on Texas Showdown again?
>> Yeah. Yeah, that's fine. I can >> just go down a little.
>> What's happening?
>> Amazon slaughter. So they're like, are they on a beat? Oh, look at that one.
>> This is taking too long. So Kevin's guess is too high, Carrie.
>> He's guess Oh, he's guessing. Oh, Army of Devils. I wonder what that one's about now.
>> So it's over a hundred. He guessed over a hundred, correct?
>> Yeah.
>> All right. So that gives me roughly a hundred options.
>> So $79 what it sold for.
>> That's good game.
>> Did it How much did it sell for?
>> 79. It sold for $79.
>> $29 for all those?
>> No, Kevin. That's That's the thing. I paid 200 bucks for like or 200 bucks for 800 deal. I'm not saying you didn't make a good deal. I'm just saying I'm surprised at most buck 25 to a buck 50 a piece.
>> So 80 bucks for all those able team that was almost that was 59 books of those.
>> Yeah.
>> So you barely made over a dollar a book.
>> But doesn't matter cuz if who cares, right? Cuz if you spent you know if you got 900 in listings, >> time and money is just a construct anyway. It doesn't matter if that wasn't a good sale or not.
>> If you're watching or listening over there, >> Kevin's holding up a picture of his shriveled raisin in his hand.
>> I was for for our Spotify listeners.
>> Rod comes in with, you know, he does this every year and I'm I'm glad he does it. He'll keep doing it, Rod. But I made two purchases from him of stuff he didn't want to deal with that he had made a purchase of and a big giant tub full of raisins. I'm like, okay. And I looked through them just from what I knew off the top of my head and I didn't see any winners till I got to the bottom and I got two decent ones. So, here's one of them. So, there you go. What do you think? California Asian.
>> Uh, I would say I honestly doesn't. Is it PVC?
>> Yeah. Mhm.
>> I >> What does it say on the bottom?
>> Man, I don't feel like it's worth much, but why would he be showing it if it wasn't? I'm struggling through through it.
>> Congrats. I'll go with my gut and say $13, but I feel like it must have sold for more because you're showing it off.
But I'm going to say $13.
>> Could be playing 3D chess.
>> 13 bucks. That's my guess. I'm sticking with it even if it's wrong.
>> You got 10 seconds.
>> Wait, no. But is it an original or is it a reproduction?
>> They didn't of those.
>> I'm just saying.
>> Listen. So Dave's qu Dave Dave said $13, correct? You wouldn't you wouldn't be showing something that was only $13 because that you have too big Kevin has too big of an ego for that.
>> He does. I agree. Do I? Now >> I feel like there's a trick here. I'm just not understanding it. That is Is this like an optical illusion? Was there something behind your hand?
>> No. But oh that's the other thing my wife after I told her that about that she's like well I don't like how you take pictures of stuff in your hand. She was trying to like be critical of me and I do it for I do it now all the time with stuff. I take the original >> poseable where they could you move the arms around and >> every picture is in my hand because I don't want people talking about, you know, size.
>> Was it like early was was it 87? Was it like the early California raisins or was it late when they were kind of going out of business?
>> Um, no. It's probably in the late 88 or 80 something. I don't know. Give me a number.
>> Can you just give me enough information so that I can make an educated guess?
>> I showed you. That's all the information you need. Dave made a guess with far less information. Now he's >> Yeah, but his guess objectively was dumb. I'm gonna go 1399.
>> You win. 1495.
>> But there's a better one. And >> so I was actually really close with my guess. So what did Carrie guess? He just went a few bucks over me.
>> This one's got a bunch of watchers on it for 25.
>> Is he pooping?
>> It's like 50 for the whole bin. So I'm close, Rod. But the rest are going to be >> He looked like he was Dave at at Disneyland about to poop. He's like, >> "Yeah, clinching." Um, I got something I sold. I know you guys don't believe it, but I did something today.
>> Let's see it.
>> I sold something today. It's going to rock the world.
>> Let's just say, >> are you going to show us?
>> I'm I am. I don't care how many questions you guys ask because I really just want to I want to I want to educate our viewers. Okay.
>> This is Mitchell and Ness. You can't see it probably. It's 76ers like a shooting.
Jersey folks.
>> Well, it's a shooting shirt. There's a big a bit of a difference. Shooting shirt. They didn't have shooting shirts back then.
>> This is Sixers era. It's kind of hard to see a logo, but it would be like the 96 to 2006 era of Sixers. Maybe 2007 era. It's black. Um, and it's a 3XL, so it's a bigger size.
>> No name on the back or number.
>> No name on the back. I No name on the back. I believe it's probably like a poly cotton blend. I don't know >> what either of those words mean.
>> I'm going to say Sixers are from that era. Jump, you know, good condition. No picks or anything like that.
>> It's a Mitchell and Nest though.
>> Mean it's a throwback, right?
>> Yeah.
>> Oh, it's in good condition. Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> The best.
>> I want to say 50 bucks. $49.95.
>> 495.
>> I'm going to say >> I might be able cuz Carrie's trying to impress us. I'm going to say 80 bucks.
>> $80. Okay. I like both of your guys' guesses. Um, but you're both wrong.
>> Yeah. Well, but that's not surprising.
There's many numbers in this world.
>> It was mesh. Did I mention that it was mesh?
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> Does that change? Do you guys want to change your number since it's mesh now?
>> I don't change anything. I'm good.
>> Yeah. It's Mitchell and Nest as well, which is a throwback like retro style brand that you can look out for in thrift stores, garage sales, yard sales, flea markets, and whatnot. Um, it sold for $23 >> free shipping. Okay. Congratulations. I sold that today.
>> All right.
This we're going to what even what >> selling to Japan? I've had four sales to Japan this week.
>> Is it Japanese stuff?
>> It's ET.
>> So is is his car now like location based and not money based?
>> Japan.
>> He asked what's South Korea.
>> I was impressed. I was excited because I actually shocked Dawn with one of my sales today. Like I Don's usually pretty good. And I showed her this sale and she's like, "Oh, what'd you get for like 20 bucks?" So I was like, "No, no. I got uh $181." And she's like, "What?" It was this little pixie >> Japanese pixie ceramic right there.
>> Yeah. And she It's like in terrible condition, but I listed it like >> Yeah, I did. Yeah, it sold $181. So, >> you don't have ones to show you today.
>> I did have something this week, but I don't >> Nothing highriced. I mean, it's brutal.
I sold some film, some What is this? I sold some films.
>> Pornography.
>> No, no, no, no. Kanuka Super Vintage Rolls 10 pack sealed.
>> Okay.
>> Uh 52 bucks. 10 pack of food.
>> Really?
>> 52 bucks? Yeah. I've had a bunch. I had 10 of those >> and now they're selling on clearance for 52 bucks.
>> I did not.
>> So, okay.
>> We had a question, Kevin. I I thought you should be the one to answer it.
Travis in Dallas said, "Is Bonanza still around?" Is it Kevin? Like what happened to Bonanza?
>> Are you selling stuff on there?
>> No, I don't. Well, look, if they lost me, they lost. That's all I I'm I'm the number one Bonanza coin owner in Not owner. I don't know. I have more Bonanza coins than anybody else in America. They show you your rank and I was ranked one.
>> You said banana coins or bonanza coins?
>> Bonanza coins.
>> How many banana coins do you have?
>> None. I feel like Bonanza is the site that you realize you sold something on three months after you sold it.
>> Randomly Bonanza, >> they started charging >> I heard about this. I heard about >> two different things. Two different things. One was they would charge you more unless you use their shipping, right? And you know, it's like, all right, screw your buddy. And the the second thing they did was start charging you for every listing regardless if it's sold or not for a month.
>> And dude, I mean, I might have 2,000 listings over there and sell two things in a month.
>> And they're going to charge me whatever.
You could charge me a penny and it would still be too much.
>> What is Bonanza shipping exactly anyway?
Is it just like Uber to Uber all the way to the location?
>> No.
>> How do they get stuff from point A to point B on Bonanza?
>> Wells Fargo.
>> Wells Fargo. Here we go.
>> And most of our comments from last week's episode are about the GameStop thing. I don't know that we want to keep talking about it, honestly.
>> I do, but you're not educated about it.
So, I'm Does educated mean you watch Justin Resale's video? Is that how you get educated?
>> No, but that would be beneficial. Yeah.
Look.
>> Yeah. But there's like news articles.
Have you read all the news articles?
>> Understand that. But this is this is how it relates to resellers. And this is a a podcast for resellers. Did they really ban him? That's the question I have. Did they ban him from eBay?
>> They did.
>> Okay, that's pretty funny. Did you hear that, Carrie?
>> Yeah, I did. No, I saw that they banned him.
>> I was wondering that, but I I didn't care enough to watch the the video.
>> I just find it fascinating because of so much. I mean, let's face it, eBay just made a killing. They've made their stock price go up. Every they're the bell of the ball these days. And how do they make their money, right? So if you grow exact well steel I wouldn't say steel but allegedly please let's put allegedly after us >> their take r's higher than it's ever been. They're taking n 13.9% at this point. That's and that's where the they're making more money but our margins are shrinking and theirs are getting bigger. How long could that go on without the sellers getting ticked off? It's ridiculous. And so his argument the world and in the market where like >> creating your own eBay becomes easier and easier like and more and more people could create competition for I don't understand the appeal of pop and all this other stuff.
>> I don't understand if the appeal of paying what 12 to 15% and then paying another 10 or 20% promotional >> like you know I don't understand the appeal of that.
>> Well that's how they made more money.
they made more money because they're making more on well now this is I think their take rate if they don't change anything next year at this time is going to be like 14 and a half and so it's like you're just creating a a vacuum competition can thrive when you should be dominating taking that money and making your sellers happy and create getting more people on the platform that's why that interview was so interesting is because he was and I'm not saying he was doing this. It was very very smart to do this. If if this is real, you want to appeal to the seller and eBay's not appealing to the seller right now.
>> Well, I'm super informed on take rates.
But for those of us like the audience, not me, I'm I'm super informed. The audience who doesn't know what a take rate is, how would you describe that in detail so someone in like third grade would understand it?
>> That you take the money that they're generating. How much of that is is revenue is profit? Oh.
It's their It's the fees.
>> Okay.
>> It's the fees. 13 point out of every $100 they're taking $13.90.
And that's growing >> where our margins my margins are 4% down. I think that's right from the previous year.
So, and they're going to continue to go down. Shipping, >> it's tough. All the other and that's not even including, >> you know, the prices of stuff going up.
you know how much we're paying for stuff.
>> You sound bored. It's It's a big deal.
>> I'm pretty bored. When you start talking take rates, my brain starts to melt and I'm just like, >> it's Do you think you're making your margins are better than they were in the past?
>> I have a proposal.
>> Why don't you go on Profit Playbook Podcast and talk about this >> because they don't have a Profit Playbook podcast.
>> It died.
>> Yeah, they're on >> their hiatus. Although John flipping ain't easy did a video reacting to Justin's video and I he did a good job.
I think there's one thing I got to disagree with and that was that he didn't think a lot of young people knew what eBay was or something like that. I don't want to misquote you Don. I think they do.
>> My kids know what it is but they're not buying on it.
>> Exactly. I think that's >> Yeah, >> but he Cohen makes that point too. You know, everybody should want to be on there. There's there's such an opportunity.
>> Josh quit Josh quit Profit Playbook Podcast. Was that what it said?
>> It says regrouping after Josh's departure from PPP. Oh, >> well, quit. Okay. Well, >> that's the name of the title. That's the name of the title. I don't know. It could be It could be clickbait.
>> Straight over there. So, >> yeah, >> maybe I should join. Interesting.
>> I'd like I'd like I'd like some serious business talk once in a while.
>> I I would like a little bit every now and again.
>> Let's talk about it. What?
>> No.
>> What's market rate right now?
There's so much we could dive into about this that I would love. I just I don't want to bore people with it.
>> No, Kevin.
>> Here's what I'll say. The audience will probably listen while me and Carrie zone out.
>> Yeah.
>> No, it's all right. I don't I don't want to.
>> We are.
>> I'm at your feet ready to learn, my friend.
>> I'm intrigued with a couple things. One, I already told you, which is this for forget if this is a a scam, a scheme, if it's going to happen. There's people out there who are saying it's already a done deal, like it's already going to happen.
I'm like, what? And there's so many people coming over from his camp that are like true believers. But the majority of people, the majority of commenters on all these videos, including mine, including John Flip and Easy, including Justin are supportive of this.
>> That should that's very telling >> regardless. Well, yeah, because people people have been are sick of eBay doing what I just don't think honestly like I don't really think it's going to go. I don't think it's going to happen, but it's certainly fun to talk about. Like I don't >> Yeah, I severely like severely severely severely severely doubt it. I don't see >> like he always says he always says like the details are on our site every time people ask him how how he's gonna get the money. Has anyone actually looked at that?
>> Does eBay really need 10,000 employees?
Do you really think they do?
>> No.
>> Or whatever they have. Look up what they got. I don't know what they got. I don't want to put misinformation. And he says stuff like, "I'd run it from my house."
Which is You're not going to run it from your house.
>> But it makes the point that there's so much to cut, you know, and the kickbacks. He makes the point. really a fight against the establishment of Wall Street and hedge funds and whatever versus retailing and people who buy stocks retail, which I do um occasionally.
It's so much bigger. The argument is so much bigger than eBay and I find it in in the short selling trying to like he's forcing people into their short sale positions that are just they're going to lose money. Just there's so much going on that I don't know what direction. I don't even know what's in this guy's head, but he makes such an appeal to the eBay sellers in that video.
>> Is it cocaine? No. No.
>> It's not, guys. It's not.
>> If if if what he regardless of what he's trying to do, he did it in a way that has eBay sellers supporting him. Not everybody, but the majority of them are supporting him.
Let's do a poll on the channel, guys.
We're going to put a poll on the channel.
>> You vote on our community page on the channel. Are you supportive of this guy buying eBay or not?
>> This is what I want. I want yes or no supportive. And then I want an other where you can put in who you think >> should buy eBay if GameStop.
>> He did say one thing that I think a lot of established or his words entrenched re e eBay sellers. She's talking about eBay being entrenched, and they definitely are, but entrenched eBay resellers might not like. He wants to appeal to a massive seller audience as well. He used the example of people having all these, and it's funny cuz I got two right here, all these phones in their house and whatever, and they don't. He says, "It's too hard. There's too much friction to get on and list something." So, isn't he the harbinger of us all losing our business? Then maybe we shouldn't be supporting this guy.
>> Well, that's what I'm saying is there is some things that he says that yes, probably would grow eBay, but >> but it would hurt us >> possibly. And in instead of people having garage sales, if it's so easy and there's no, you know, bars to jump over, then it becomes more difficult. But at the same time, Poshmark tried this, Merkari tried this where it's everything's consumer to consumer and they want massive consumer to consumer stuff and they haven't really taken off because of it. I'm not sure. I don't I don't care how easy it is. You're going to get a portion, but everybody's not going to become a reseller. I don't believe it.
>> Well, no, but that's the thing, Kevin, is the GameStop stores. You're just going to bring them in there. Bring your items in there. So, everyone is going to become a reseller in a sense because GameStop's can do the reselling for you.
>> If Yeah, if they did it that way. Yes, I think you're right. And so, there's concern.
>> All of us are out of a job.
>> Well, I first of all, he'd probably >> fear, uncertainty, doubt.
>> Thumbnail.
>> Thumbnail.
GameStop CEO is going to steal our livelihoods.
>> I've been making a thumbnail at the end.
It's like, you know, the whole tax structure, the whole $1099 thing and the $600 thing and whatever, which I didn't support because I don't I don't like that. I don't like gatekeepers keeping other people out. But if they do make decisions like that, if eBay doesn't change their shipping to make it much more simplistic, that's actually good for us because we know what we're doing.
It's not a great argument to make, but it is. the more hoops and bars you got to jump through and jump over, the better it is for >> there. There's many times historically where I'm like eBay moving slow like a behemoth I have felt like is beneficial to us like many times.
>> But at the same time, it's also holding us back because the market's not growing.
>> The seller base is is just barely growing compared to the money they're making. I would like to see a huge expansion of that. Think about whatnot.
Whatnot's try not trying to appeal consumer to they don't want everybody selling on there. They're and eBay Live isn't doing that either, >> right?
>> But in reality, the real strategy, guys, is to have an uncle who owns a factory in China to get replenishables for you.
That's the real way to become a professional businessman.
>> Allegedly. Speaking of, I've heard the first criticism of Justin over there and I'm like this whole video this this criticism about uh sellthrough rate because we can't calculate it accurately. It's just it's not worth talking. It's much more malpractice to not talk about the importance of sellrough rate than it is to talk about it and maybe make a mistake. By the way, >> all right, so we're all going to lose our jobs. We really got to focus on this fear. It's going to get us the clicks.
Uh Kevin says that you should fight against the GameStop guy.
>> That's not what I said. I've been so much of it. I love the idea, the thinking of it because really, do we need a giant board and CEO? Now I'm get eBay ticked at us. Do you really need all that bloat?
>> Do you really need all that?
