[00:00:00]Hi, today we are going to discuss the five most important protocol as an S sur or as a devops that you must know and we all should know and don't mind I just got an infection. Yeah, it's bad but ignoring that. So the five protocols in the five protocol the first most important protocol is DNS. Now we know that everybody knows about the DNS. So what exactly is it? So it's like domain naming system. So suppose there's a human being whose name is google.com okay and his phone number is there because we have to communicate to that so via phone numbers we do but we save it in our phone by the name right so that mapping system is like the DNS so basically google.com is a name and example the IP is a phone number and there are type of records which help us keep that like the mapping types of records like you can map the domain name to IP IP V4 that is called A record.

[00:01:00]Then there is a AAA record. So you can map your name to IPv6 like a different type of phone number. Then we have CNAME record like forwards one domain to subdomain. Suppose under google.com there is subgoogle.com. So instead of IP you can map the domain. Then we have MX record. Then txt records. So these are the different types of records. But as a s sur the most common sane knowledge is like suppose if you uh are uh working on some website and it's not working the first thing which comes into our head is DNS working are DNS servers okay is there any issue with the resolving no right so you must understand what the basics foundation of DNS is I hope you would have understood with this the second one is obvious SSH secure shell So SSH is like example uh I want to communicate on some some servers but over the internets is difficult right there are hackers waiting for us so the communication is not safe I just can't go and talk to them like that so SSH is like a shell which allows you to communicate in a protective mode like in a locker and safe mode you can communicate okay but in a safe mode under a safe environment so SSH protocol usually works on port 22 works on port 22 only and that whenever you log into any particular server so you can check the server you can work on that server seamlessly without worrying that somebody might be peeping or the conversation that you're having is not secure so basically SSH is very much important the third one ICMP very few people talk about it it's like u I think it's internet control message protocol If I'm not wrong, I just give you the correct one. But I think yeah, it's that's it.

[00:02:52]So it's like I am ICMP. I want to check off on my one of the friend. Okay. So I go to that friend and I knock the door and I just want to know if that friend is alive or not. Then he says, "Hey, uh I'm there or something like that." The ICMP just does that. So ICMP is a protocol who just wants to make sure you're alive. So whenever we face any issues okay so first thing we do is ping and everybody know how ping works. So if you do ping google.com you are just checking if that website is alive. If the website is alive the problem is with you problem is not with the website. So that's why with ICMP we make sure that the system or where we are working on we need to check is it reachable is it alive simply that like very simple keep this in the mind you just have to check if somebody is alive the fourth important protocol we have heard of it you know I'm telling you all these protocols we know about it but still we lack some clarity on the foundation that's why I'm creating this video so the important is HTTP versus HTTPS hypertext transfer protocol. Every website we open starts with HTTP very common but it should start with HTTPS S because it stands for safe secure communication. Why? HTTP protocol allows you it's like a postcard. Okay. So it just postcard like you drop and it goes there. HTTP is like a safe. You put your message under a safe and then that is traveling. So whenever you have some important message or anything mostly it works with HTTPS and S is basically the SSL certificates that we have. So if that SSL certificates expire it doesn't allow us to go there. So it says this website is not safe. You might have seen that error board and then you do click on advance and then you go on the unsafe mode like you click okay. So basically the good same knowledge is if you are under public Wi-Fi never ever open HTTP you are more prone to issues.

[00:05:04]The last and the least you should know TCP versus UDP. TCP is transfer control protocol. Sorry transmission control protocol. I'm extremely sorry it's transmission control protocol and UDP is user datagramgram protocol. So consider a postman okay which is like the old Zamalika postman we used to have like who is having the uh your message or any parcel of yours he will make sure is it reached properly it's slow it it works on acknowledgement it makes sure that okay whatever the parcel I have whatever the data I have with threeway hand shaking I'll make sure they sync and acknowledge and I'm sending that parcel and UDP is like a newspaper boy every morning who comes on a cycle who just throws the newspaper very fast fast doesn't matter if it is thrown not on the house but outside the house or the garbage doesn't matter it's fast it needs to reach there so if you know like the live streaming or the gaming where the things are very much fast UDP is used there we always you know since childhood I had the not childhood basically my when I started studying that I also saying UDP is not necessary it doesn't make sure that the packet is reached or not. Why do we use it? We use it because it's fast. It's way fast than anticipated. Sometimes fast and speed is what we all need. Acknowledgement we don't need. So when there is live streaming and gaming, this is what is and most of the time on the banking everything like other than other than those criteria TCP is what we need. We have to make sure our data is reached or not. So yeah, I hope you have understood the five important protocols that I've talked about.
