Can a Redstone Master ACTUALLY Teach me Redstone?

[00:00:00]As you may or may not know, I kind of suck at redstone. Like, this is a 5x5 piston door I made, and it takes 40 seconds for it to open and close. And it's just enormous.

So that would make this piston here extend first, which is pushing this piston into an area of power right here. And since there's power right here, it pushes it.

If you were to have this add [music] redstone dust, what happens was is first when you like the way that this is supposed to close, the way that these three pistons right here activate um right here is with this redstone dust right here.

[01:03:01]these this redstone dust activates these pistons. But the reason why you need this to have rails up here is this observer detects that this activates which activates these pistons right here a second time which would like retract the box. So if you have it as rails, it doesn't power the pistons cuz it's a rail, not a ridge of dumps.

So you can see this, you're importing 14 [music] right here. So it outputs 14. Whatever you put into it, it output. You can just expand this across like this and then you get 14 cuz you input 14 and it goes through here. It does have a bit of delay. Now we do the subtract mode. What subtract mode does, not surprisingly, it subtracts.

[01:10:01]>> Yeah, it's the same thing though. Well, you'll see the difference. Subtract mode. What subtract mode does, if you power it from this merge value, if you [music] power it from the side, it will take this power level, so 15 minus this power level, which is 14, and output it.
