60% Negative Interactions: What PMR Patients Say About Their DoctorsAjouté :
Researchers found that 60% of patient interactions with healthcare providers were described negatively.
Long wait times, delayed diagnoses, misdiagnoses, feeling dismissed, feeling like their doctor didn't understand the full weight of what they were carrying. Now, I'm grateful for doctors. I'm so glad they exist. It's not their fault there are long wait times, right? I don't think most rheumatologists are bad doctors. I really don't. But there is a structural problem. A typical appointment gives your doctor 7 minutes with you to check your labs, adjust your dose, make sure your diagnosis is actually correct, and then move on to the next patient. 7 minutes was never designed to be long enough to be enough for a PMR patient and what you're dealing with.
