The sneaker resale market has evolved significantly, with regular General Release shoes no longer commanding premium resale prices like they did a decade ago, making it easier for consumers to purchase limited-edition sneakers at retail price through legitimate retail stores. Retro sneaker releases often feature design elements from the original release era rather than the most recent version, and their resale value depends on factors like colorway popularity, material quality, and market demand, with some retro releases selling under retail while others appreciate significantly in value.

Is TonyD2Wild, Foamer, WearTester Capping About Jordan 4 Toro? Toro Resell Is DeadAdded:
Yo yo, this is absolutely insane. The Jordan Ford Toros are coming out tomorrow. Look at the resale. I'm going to make another video later on today and uh give y'all my predictions on whether I think the shoe is going to sit or whether it's going to sell. But this is insane. You can get this shoe for under retail right now.
This is insane.
[music] And and I've been saying this for a while. I love the sneaker culture right now. I love the way I love the sneaker climate. I love I love I love it.
GR shoes are where they're supposed to be. GRs, man. Y'all remember 10 years ago GR shoes, you couldn't even you had to jump through a burning building to get GR shoes. Y'all remember those vlog videos that you know 10 years ago when sneaker YouTube was like crazy sneaker YouTube when it was at its peak?
Regular GR shoes would be reselling for $500.
Literally, we all know this. For those who was there, you know, 10 years ago, GR Shoes was reselling for $500 regular.
We ain't talking about Travis Scott. We ain't talking about uh uh you know, any collab shoes. No, regular General releases shoes was going for $500 on the release day.
regular GR shoes was was was the money maker for resale, but now resellers I know the resellers are so mad and that makes me happy.
I know the resellers are so mad that they can't knock people across their head and overcharge ridiculous prices for regular GR shoes.
I know resellers are mad as hell that people can wake up early in the morning, Saturday morning, Sunday morning, Friday morning, and [snorts] just casually go to the Foot Locker store, Champs Chic, and get the shoe that they want for retail.
I know that the reseller is mad as hell that they can't charge a leg and an arm and a kidney and an eye socket and hair follicles. People used to have to make down payments to get GR shoes. [laughter] People used to go crazy, man, just just thinking about how far the sneaker game came. And 2026 is such a glorious time to be alive, to be a sneaker head, man. These 2026 Jordan Torros, you can get them for under retail shouty.
Look at this. Well, this is $500, but ain't nobody paid no $500. Look at this.
Size seven, 180.
Size seven and a half, 208, 160, 188, 188, 187, 190. Now, with tax and everything, you know, it's going to be around retail price, you know, cuz got shipping and handling fees and all that stuff. So, so after tax, [snorts] you know, you still going to be end up paying retail, but this just shows you what type of climate we in for for the sneaker game. And I absolutely love it.
I absolutely love it, man. So, I just wanted to highlight this real quick and show and show y'all that it's great to be a sneaker head right now. It is so amazing to be a sneaker head. I wonder how much did the 2000 2013s these are reselling. So So these are the ones that was um 2013. These are reselling for way more.
But [snorts] this shoe is 13 year years old though. This shoot is 13 year years old. We in 2026.
This is 2013.
And this is going for, you know, it's going for what? It's going for $400.
400. This is five three40. I mean, $400 plus plus tax. Size 12 is five. 550.
Size 12 and a half is 800.
But this is I wonder how the other to rows are doing. See these? The Toro sixes. What are these are doing? Damn.
These ain't hitting on nothing.
These Toro sixes. Sheesh. These ain't hitting on Jack Judy, boy.
These ain't hitting on Jack Judy.
Retail shouted. Retail shouted. So yeah, man. I just wanted to make a video on on on the Toro 4s, man. Let's see what they doing on GOAT.
[snorts] Let's see what they doing on GOAT before I go. And then later on today, I'm going to give y'all my prediction on whether I think these are going to sit, these are going to sell.
Yep. [snorts] Under retail.
Under retail. Under retail. Look at this. Damn. Damn. Damn.
And I'm absolutely loving it. I'm absolutely loving it.
>> [snorts] >> All right, hold on. Let me see.
Let's see what the people are saying about the Jordan 4s.
Let's Let's do a quick little reaction on who are talking about the Jordan Fors and what they saying. Let's see. Let's do a quick reaction real quick. Like I said, I don't discriminate. Whoever is the top person, that's who I'm going to What's her deal?
>> She went to Metro and got the new S.
>> Right now, you guys, I honestly think the Air Jordan 4 Toro is going to sit, you guys. I would >> I do too. I do, too.
>> Not buy these just yet because >> Well, well, I'll save that for another video. But that's that's that's his opinion.
>> United States. I really think everybody probably got them already. That's my opinion. and they know the wait it out, get another paycheck, pay your bills, then go get the Tauros. That's what I would do cuz again, two days later on Monday, have a little extra money, go get money off, don't pay that crazy sales tax on all the 220.
>> All right, he he's not he's not saying anything about the shoe. Jumper Chris, let's go to Jumper Chris.
>> I got with you. And I hate to sound like I'm complaining like it's a bad shoe.
It's not a bad shoe. I'm just doing comparison. Just look how the new Buck is. Yes, it's a little it looks kind of faded out. Materials is a little bit cheapy. I mean, I just feel like now that Nike upped the price, they should have just gave us better materials and better quality. That's just my opinion, you know? But it is good to see that we're seeing like a rer retro of a shoe that a lot of people are looking forward to and probably never had from 2013. So, they're like, you know what, I don't care. I just want the dag on shoe. I just want the colorway in all red Air Jordan 4. And I definitely understand that. But again, as a old older sneaker head that I have seen the older versions and stuff like that, I'm just a little disappointed. I wish they did better.
You know, it's the same thing what they did with >> Okay, so he said that he don't like them. Okay, so Jumper Chris said that he don't like them. Let's hear what Tesa got to say.
>> It is so weird to review a shoe that I review. I know it's not not normal anymore. Like how many times have I reviewed like a certain short, you know what I So, technically this will only be the second one, but like still. This was a new color way when I first reviewed it and now it's a retro of the new colorway and I'm like, bro, what the like? It's just weird, you know?
[music] Hey, what's going on guys? My name is Chris. Welcome back to the official wearers.com YouTube channel. Today, we got a detailed look and review on these bad boys right here. This is the Air Jordan 4 in the Toro colorway. Also kind of known as like the Toro Bravo as it's kind of a play on the raging bull version of the Air Jordan 5. That's neither here nor there. Now, before we get started, we do have a quick like issues on them, but like that's one of the things where like when people have the originals, are you going to really love this? I do think there's a good chance, but maybe not. I don't know.
Like, it's people are weird with product like this because the way that they saw this shoe first when it first came out in 2013, these look way different. Not way, way different, but they look different. One of those differences would be the overall shape. This version of the shoe features the new shape, which is technically the old shape. And by old shape, I mean the original shape all the way back in 1989 when the shoe first released, whereas that 2013 version of the shoe was that era's shape of the Air Jordan 4, and they were okay.
Like, they weren't crazy boxy or anything like that like some of the Air Jordan 3s, but they also weren't as gorgeous as these shape-wise. One of the other differences is the netting itself.
The netting on this pair is reverted back to that original style netting.
Even though it's not like original original, it is a little bit different than even the Air Jordan 4 OG like white cement or the what are they called?
Alternate breads. Bread alternates. The black cements but with leather. A little bit different than those. But the original version of the shoe actually had the really thin grid lines. The last difference would be the materials themselves. This little card right here would have you believe that they use some premium ass cuts of Newuk on this and that is simply not the case. But the 2013 version featured a synthetic Newuk, which I actually, and this is going to sound weird, I think that those felt and looked a lot better than this one. But I will say that when we're talking about like material quality, this does feature more raw material in it than those did.
It's just that sometimes when you got synthetics, and I say this all the time the time, sometimes synthetics not bad.
You know what I mean? Like that's how you get a look and that's how you get it consistent and looking good and all that stuff instead of inconsistent, which raw materials can do sometimes. So the original version in 2013 featured a rubbery feeling like it's not such a big punch of red. Are there other smaller differences and things like that? Yes, there is on their own. They're just not as like it's not such a big punch. Yeah.
Whereas I think that this will not do that as much, but they kind of do it on their own. They're just not as like it's not such a big punch of red. Are there other smaller differences and things like that?
>> Okay, it it seems like he he he's just comparing the shoe from um from a last last Let's see what Tony got to say real quick.
>> Check this out. I'm going to show you how I afforded this car.
Okay, you ready? All right. $118 for car insurance. That's how much I was paying.
Okay.
>> What's good, YouTube? It's your boy Tony D2 Wild checking in once again back in the building. kind of like what I had thought and expected with this. Man, I told y'all I thought the colors were slightly off. Check it out. So, this right here is the 2013 pair and then this is the 2026 pair, which is odd because the Lightning Fors that released recently, those were more vibrant than the originals. This one, it kind of looks harder on camera to see, but like it's not picking up all the way, guys.
Maybe it is a little bit now. This is the older pair. This is the newer pair.
Material-wise, very similar, but this more spongy feel to it. Has a more spongy feel. The quality on this feels better than this one. This looks dried and wash. The netting on here is the old school netting. That's that oldest netting that we had, you know, for for quite some time, like for over the years for the most part. We recently got this type of netting, which I do like more because this netting is like closer to the OG 1989 version. If you can look at the toe boxes, that has slightly changed over the years as well. Not different.
The tongue itself, you can see that the edges on there on the black where that is more tucked in. And this tongue looks a little bit more just plush. This shoe looks a little bit more plush overall than the 20 like the 2013 pair compared to the 2026 pair. Um, got some cracking going on on this pair. Hurts. It hurts.
And then pretty much everything for the most part, I mean, it's it's pretty solid. I have no issue with the new pair at all. But it is something just worth showing you guys that may have had that pair and want to see how it compares to the older pair. But once again, yeah, another image just showing y'all. Yeah, I mean these are way more saturated. I can see it. This is more red. This is a more lighter. And then also on the midsole, the black on the midsole is more of a matte where the newer pair version is more of a shine overall. So they did that as well. But cool. Just showing you some of the differences. No complaint whatsoever. Now, one of the crazy things is these are >> all right. So it seemed like Tony Tony likes the shoe. It seemed like Tony likes the shoe. He's just doing a comparison. Okay. Cool. Cool. Cool.
>> Going to four. This is one of the first shoes that I've ever reviewed on my channel. That video got uh like half of my six months of my videos got like deleted though, so I don't have that video no more. But right when I came into the game of doing content on 202, this is one of the first shoes. This the green glow were some of the first shoes that I reviewed on this channel. You got a all red new buck upper, black hits with that cement gray accents overall on the wings. You know, regular cement Jordan 4 box that we're so used to.
Quality is slightly different. Can't say it's better because I don't know the difference in the actual materials itself. I will say that the OG's feel a little bit better, but I do like the overall new updated shape. I'd rather take this pair than that pair and um I'm okay.
>> Okay, so it seemed like Tony is saying that he actually do like the shoe. So salute to that. Let's get OG. Let's get FA Simpson real quick and then we going to end the video.
>> Um you can also find me on the USA. Bang bang. [music] This is the Air Jordan 4 Toro Bravo.
>> [music] >> gray lace cages with the black wings on the sideed people get about them. Like I said back in 2013, bucket you remember stuff going on. Yeah. Troed the Dor Becker 3 13 years. This does feel like a good time to bring them back. They've let them breathe a little bit and it is certainly a spicy colorway for the summer. I don't know if it's just me. It probably is. But there was something about that 2013 pair that I never totally I never all the way loved and I think it was just the shade of [music] red. It was almost too bright in a way.
I think this more muted, more subtle shade is a better look. Personally, it's still vibrant. It's still like what I would consider buckets of like a bright red.
>> Definitely a bright red, >> but just toned down a little bit more, which gives it a little bit more of an elevated feel. I think they did a really good job with them, obviously.
>> Okay, so uh Fulmer Simpson said he he likes it. Uh Tony said that he likes it.
So, uh we going to see tomorrow. Um, I think the shoe, well, I'mma give y'all my prediction of do I think the shoe is going to sell out or sit in my next video, but I just wanted to show y'all that this shoe is not reselling for nothing. And uh, yeah, man, that's it.
So, y'all leave a comment down below, man. Are y'all going to cop the Jordan Ford uh, Toy World Fors? And as we see on StockX, man, I I love this. They not hitting on nothing. But I'll [snorts] make a video later on today to give y'all my predictions on whether do I think these are going to sit or these are going to sell. But the but the resale value of these I love to see this. I love to see this.
It's your boy DMD signing
