KC parks and rec possibly missing millions of dollars

[00:00:01]>> The toughest report to come out of City Hall in the last decade. That's what Mayor Lucas called this audit into the Parks Department. It was revealed yesterday during the council business session that millions of dollars might be missing from the city's Parks and Recreation Department. But they don't know how much money could be missing due to a lack of documentation.

[00:00:27]I spoke with council leaders today to share their reaction. They had some tough words about what they saw in these 34 pages. I think that we all had the same sentiment as to "Oh my god, you know, what is going on?" I think it highlighted a number of issues that are exceedingly concerning for the taxpayers. Those leaders will be back here at City Hall on June 11th to ask some more questions to the Parks Department and auditors, and they'll decide if the city's going to hire an outside agency to take another review.
