HUGE EXCAVATIONS! AND SCALPING RAMPS UP! AT THE LLANGOLLEN CANAL BREACH!
Added:All right. Hello everybody and welcome back to the Clangosin Canal Breach at Wet Church. We have returned for another update.
>> Max altitude reached >> and it's a Friday.
>> Stop interrupting me. It's a Friday today, guys. So, yay. I get two days off. Two lovely days off. Well, not exactly days off. I still got to do loads of stuff.
I have to edit a regular vlog or um I got to do stuff in my car as well again. Hopefully get that issue fixed once and for bloody all amount of money I spent into it or put into it to try and do it myself. I could have just paid someone to do it. But the trouble is then we get your car booked in and then I haven't got it and I need my car because dad's car ain't here or Amy's car on Hey, hang on.
Yeah, I'm pretty annoyed cuz I came just in my t-shirt and shorts today cuz as soon as I left the boat it was sunny but when I drove there it was overcast.
Uh like a little jumper in the back of my car. Might have to put that on, I think. But the weather is looking like it is going to get a lot nicer and hotter again, guys, for the second half of June. So, that's nice cuz uh yeah, the first half of June was uh well, abysmal.
>> So, yeah, me and Joe are down here today. Joe's down at half bloody six.
Um, yeah, I'm in my t-shirt and shorts.
As you can see, something quite interesting is happening down here, though. Looks like field excavations are continuing.
>> We're going down to the thicker stuff now, right near the brereech, but we'll follow this dumper. see where he goes. There's quite a big uh pile here now. I go to sleep.
Yeah, I think the pollen count's pretty high at the moment. It's just hay fever as usual.
I get colds in the winter and hay fever in the summer. Can't win. Always got a blocked nose. It's wonder why you I breathe from my mouth and that's why my nose is always blocked. Yeah, there's actually um four ABC high boats more down here this morning, but two left just as I got here.
He's going back on top of that pile.
The weird thing is though, when I first got it, he was over at the compound.
Yeah. So, when I first got here, there was a dumper that went over to the compound and went on top of one of the piles there.
Speaking of that, let's go and have Oh, I got to put that jumper on. That breeze is chilling me.
H, what's this?
Looks like it's delivered something. Or is it the machine that picks up the skip?
Don't think I've ever quite seen a truck like that.
Yeah, we got a guy doing some strimming over there as well.
Yeah, I reckon he's had to pick up the skip.
The only thing I can think of.
Yep. See to pick up the skip.
Curious to see how this works.
Two massive hydraulic rods there.
I guess he's just got to connect it with those trains, isn't he? Lower the hydraulic rods and connect it with the trains and lift it up.
Oh yeah, he's delivered a new one there.
Let's just dump there for now.
Yeah. So, as you can see, they're not using the scalper at the moment.
Um, because they got to clear some space, by the looks of it, that's what the big exhibit is doing.
Yeah, just connecting the chain. Four chains front and back.
And yeah, that'll just lift it up onto the back of the truck, I guess.
Whoa, there it goes.
Watch out, man. That will knock you out.
Nice. That's pretty cool.
Never seen one work, guys. It's quite interesting to watch.
Look at that. Perfect.
Off he pops.
I wonder if it then drop it again down here. Pick up the other one. Take that down.
Does it look like there was some more Envir collections, guys? That pile was bigger yesterday, wasn't it?
Swear it was.
It shrunk.
Yeah, it looks like he really is got to do that.
That's annoying, isn't it? Back off again. Yep, there it goes.
Yeah, there was a dumper that delivered to the compound.
I'm not sure why they're not now, but yeah, they're just dumping it on top of the pile at the field now. Strange.
Bit stranger things have happened.
Yeah, he's got to get rid of all the really thick stuff now. And bear in mind, this was a lot thicker originally.
Must have been about, I don't know, 10 ft deep or something.
Well, I'm going to come land for a bit, guys. But stinks like death around here cuz something dead floating in the canal down there, right next to Joe's boat. I was on that bench there, but I've moved.
Stinks. It's got maggots all growing over it. I'm not going to do a zoom in cuz I know some want to see that. It could be a dead lamb cuz you get a lot of sheep that fall in the canal, flare up the canal, or it could be a big hair or a cat or a dog. It's probably a hair or a lamb, though.
Yeah. Stinks.
It's right next to Joe's boat. I don't think he cares, though.
Looking lovely now. It look, he's got a nice little umbrella. Matches the color.
Right, it's been about 20 or 30 minutes.
No, probably not 30 minutes. It's been about 20. So, as you can see, the scalping machine has started up again.
And they've moved it into position now to do the second row. And this how it works, I guess. It just takes the place of where the um soil was before.
It just works its way along. Yeah.
Pretty cool. So, this is why they needed a little bit of room last time. They didn't have quite enough for that first initial row of uh processed soil and sand. Yeah, I don't see why they wouldn't be able to get this second row done today.
It's looking like there's about three and a half more rows to go.
So, I'd say that's three and a half more days of work.
So, I guess is about Thursday next week.
No, it doesn't. No, Wednesday.
Yeah. Wednesday or Thursday, I reckon this will be done with no delays.
Oh yes. So, as you can see, there's a dumper heading back to the compound. Now, with a load of um soil or sand, this is what I mentioned happened when I first arrived.
Yeah, they're starting to take it to the compound now, but not from the pile that they've already made.
So, this is more stuff that needs to be moved by Envirus Kippy.
So, it's not over for them yet.
Does look like they've only got one dumper working at the moment.
So, it's not exactly top speed, but they're only working as fast as they need to work, guys.
They wanted to work faster, they could, but um they're waiting for something, you know, the plans to come through or, you know, there's something that's they're waiting for, of course.
So they can only work so fast.
Otherwise, if they work too fast, there have nothing to do.
So it's totally understandable that they're just saving money on fuel.
So yeah, just got to wait for the dumper to come back before I can excavate some more.
Yeah. Yeah, I'm not sure why he hasn't taken it to the pile the small excavator's on.
Perhaps it's getting too big. I don't know.
Yeah, much like the major oak or Robin Hood oak tree >> battery level >> that oak is unfortunately dead. Well might have gone into an early autumn but I think I've heard that they are actually going to remove it at some point sadly. Yeah, what a shame about the major oak, the Robin Hood oak, just like the sycamore gap one. Well, at least it wasn't vandalized by hooligans.
But such a shame. I was going to visit that oak as well last year, but I never did.
It'll be a skeleton for years and years and years to come, but it'll never grow leaves again. Just like Yeah, I just thought that was a good point to mention the the major oak. You're in the passing of that.
Yeah. If you didn't know what the major oak was, um it's an ancient oak tree.
Yeah. The major oak was um 800 to 1,100 years old.
That one's not quite that. It was only 100 odd years old.
Yeah. Yeah, looks like they're taking the loads back to the compound now, guys.
It's curious how they didn't do this before.
Why? Sorry, not how exciting on that.
Perhaps this is why my uh hay fever is blowing up.
Grass hay fever, I reckon.
You know why they're doing this, guys?
because uh I got an email and um apparently there's going to be a media day on Monday next week for the sixth month anniversary for of the breach.
Yeah, it really has been 6 months, guys.
Half a year since this breached. Cannot believe it myself.
Uh and I've been invited to that. I'm not sure if I'm going to go yet though.
Um cuz I don't really fancy being on there with all the media. It's not going to be uh I don't know. It's going to be too much pressure for me, I think, with my anxiety.
And mom's not here as well, so she won't be there to support me and ask questions and all that. She's much better with that sort of thing than me. So yeah, I won't be going on Wednesday cuz that's replacing the Wednesday visit now.
So they make it look uh all nice and tidy for the media visit. Getting rid of all the weeds.
Dad will be moaning cuz that's wild flowers and stuff. Just leave it.
Well, it looks like he's got a whole pile of uh top soil there ready to go be loaded into the dumper.
Oh, what's that? He's got some sort of bar to Betsy with another ABC high boat.
Yeah, it's funny cuz I missed the third one. Leave as well. I think there's one more down here somewhere.
Yeah, 95% of the boats I film are ABC boats to start paying me, aren't they? Okay.
Strangely, the dumpers now will dump that there.
And I Well, it's not a fresh pile, but it's besides the uh big pile.
Feel sneeze coming on. I'm trying to resist it. Ah, looks like he's adapted his methods now.
He's not putting so much in.
He's uh sprinkling it in more.
Yeah, looks like he's taken out there.
Now, to be fair, that is pretty much just top. So, don't see why they would take that to the park at the compound.
What's going on here, guys? Are they finally doing the potholes on the approach to the roundabout?
Oh, it might actually might be repairing the potholes. It's really bad on this side here where that guy is walking along the road.
Anyway, let's not get distracted by things going on around the brereech.
Why have an Audi uh like uh I do it again. Why haven't Audi written something on top of their roof? Audi or something? They stupid. The amount of free advertising that would give them.
They even got a logo facing this way, don't they? Oh, they do have one by the canal.
Yeah, they also put this little sign up here as well.
Needs to be all nice and clean and tidy and presentable for the press, isn't it?
It's backwards, but you can read it.
Well, it's half nine now, guys. That is not Joe reversing down here. Joe's already here.
Don't know who that is.
Yeah, it looks like for a minute at least uh excavations have stopped in the brereech or the field. Sorry.
The hover flies back on my finger again.
Looks like it's time to move the thing back.
Looks like they've turned it off.
All has gone quiet, guys.
It may not necessarily be break time. It may just be uh discussion time perhaps.
>> Yeah, I'll come land. Uh, I think they gone on a break anyway.
All right, so probably going to end this video here, guys. Bit of a short one, but uh, is what it is.
They might have gone on break now. I don't know. Or they're discussing stuff.
Uh, who knows? But what I do know is there will be a second video later out today. Um, so yeah, thanks for watching, guys. Hope you all enjoyed. He's a liking, subscribing, and please don't tell me that's another ABC high boat. Oh, wow. It is as well. It actually is.
That's all I see is ABC High boats.
They've monopolized the whole network.
Yeah. Anyway, guys, uh, thanks for watching.
I'll see you in the next one. Bye-bye.
