Walmart, the largest US retailer with over 10,000 stores globally, is considering entering the Jamaican market through its Sam's Club division, which competes with Costco and PriceSmart. PriceSmart's successful expansion in Jamaica, including a logistics hub and multiple stores, demonstrates the viability of the warehouse retail model in the Caribbean. Sam's Club's aggressive US expansion plans (50 new clubs annually) and the existing success of warehouse retailers in the region create strong conditions for potential market entry, with potential locations near major highways in Kingston, Montego Bay, or Spanish Town.
