Racism in China manifests through multiple interconnected levels: (1) State-sponsored content that promotes racial stereotypes, such as Chinese state media accounts transforming dark-skinned dolls into white dolls; (2) Racial slurs and derogatory terms for different skin colors and ethnic groups (e.g., 'black ghost' for black people, 'club' for Koreans); (3) Cultural competition racism toward neighboring countries like Japan, Korea, and India; (4) Skin color-based racism rooted in traditional Chinese beauty standards that favor lighter skin; and (5) Internal racism toward ethnic minorities within China, including Tibetans and Uighurs. This multi-level framework demonstrates that racism is not limited to one form but operates through various mechanisms simultaneously, with each level reinforcing others in a complex system of racial hierarchy and discrimination.

Racist Dolls in China?Added:
Okay, I'm gonna be called racist by everybody after today. Are Chinese people racist? Yes. I have been obsessed recently with this toy. It literally on the box it reads black doll change color Natasha and in all sorts of different colors like uh there's a brown one, there's an ultra dark skin one. Uh these obviously make you look like they're referencing African kids for the model.
And uh some of them are crazy like uh being posed by Chinese state media accounts essentially turning this doll through makeup into a freaking white doll. Okay. Um, it recently gained popularity on Chinese social media. I'm pretty sure you can even buy this on like eBay cuz on eBay you can like this one sells for $7. But some people were saying how this appeared in Japan two years ago. I have no idea if that's true or not, but uh like clearly the dark-kinned thing makes people think like this is racism against Africans and uh they're marked marketed as stress relief toys, which uh if you see here, so like they literally just you can squish them. You like people stomp on them on the floor like just kind of like pretty twisted ways of squeezing the toy. Uh, but they're doing something much worse. Like there's influencers who are in Africa who are Chinese content creators and then they just go around with like babies from Africa. I don't know what happened to the mothers or the parents of uh of these babies, but they're like holding them and then they're like just doing some pretty racist stuff, you know. And uh some of you have probably seen this video already.
So this lady literally is like saying how you guys need to go back to your country like in both English and Chinese telling these like black women in China to go back to Africa. So okay, let me just how do I put it this candidly? Um Chinese people are just really racist.
Like they literally have a nickname for every single color of of skin skin color. Uh if you're white they call you guo, right? Which literally means like ghost foreigner. Uh if they if you're black they call you black ghost. Uh, if you're like Korean, they call you a a club, which is like literally means like like a club that you hit people with.
Uh, if you're Japanese, they call you or they call you like uh Japanese ghost. Um, what are some other ones?
Like Filipino monkeys. YouTube, please don't demonetize me. I'm trying to make educational examples. Okay. Um, so like they're literally they have racist terms just like how white people have racist terms, how black people have racist terms. And uh so I'm not here trying to defend them in in like the sense like oh somehow that justifies it because other races are also racist. But I will say like to be fair every race has racist people towards other races. Well I think the difference what makes China's racism pretty interesting is I'll show you this pyramid chart that I made up. I think it'll really explain this whole racism in levels. Okay. So from the top of the pyramid is most racist to the bottom is the least or less racist. So first what I would think consider from the Chinese racism perspective is the real racism like they literally have this hate towards you like they can murder you type of thing will be the Japanese and the Americans right because you know historically Japan you made it to China the CCP has been propagandizing that brainwashing people to hate Japan Americans pretty similar stories especially now with US versus China so that's like the real racism I would consider to be like actually like they will want to act on uh certain levels to bring about like violence to you then there's the cultural racism or the competition racism which is like to Whereas countries like India uh to Koreans where there's a sort of a competition of of cultures that they clash whether you know that's with music with arts with movies or just simply with like similar levels of of uh civilizations populations you know Japan uh sorry India and Korea are two of them. And then the third one is what I would call is like the skin color racism. Like the more traditional way like oh if you're darker colored because dude in China like the beauty standard is the more the the whiter you are the more beautiful you are right like they literally don't like dark skin. Like if you're dark skin they think you're actually an alien that type of thing. So there's like this superiority and skin color racism which is like it happens to the Malaysians to Africans to Middle Easterners right because like you want like you feel like you're superior because your because your skin is is lighter. Okay. And then general racism is like at the bottom towards just other white people because Chinese people are just racist in general to every other race. Right now this is not inherently like a bad thing in a sense like every race has some level of racism because they comes from just how the world used to be like you never used to have interactions with another person from another culture or another race. Uh or if you did it was so similar to yours like in terms of the skin color. Oh, before you talk about that, by the way, remember like Chinese people are also racist to their own ethnic groups. Like, did we forget that they invaded Tibet?
Uh they're literally putting weagers into concentration camps. Right now, they have this whole anti-Qing dynasty because theQing dynasty was ruled by Manurians like Manchus, right? Uh from um from Mongolians as well. Like they literally want to erase that period of ofQing dynasty because they're like, "Oh, they're Manus. They're not Chinese." So, like they're racist to like a lot of people. Now, I've seen the outrage online towards the African racism, especially this time, right? I think there's some level a an awakening for the Africans who for a while have been lied to about what the CCP really wants to to get done in Africa. Okay, let me tell you straight up this is this is a new era of colonialism. Like this is straight up colonization from the CCP in Africa. Like the the whole belt and road initiative, the whole project itself is this huge like neoc colonial project, right? Like you think that they're being nice to you when they build you new airports, bridges, and roads. No, they're putting you into debt. And then other companies are still using like for example in Congo when they're harvesting cobalt for the EV batteries, they're using child labor. Uh so like conditions in Africa have not improved by the Chinese investments. And so now obviously the CCP shells will defend it saying look there's Africans in China that are living pretty well and whatnot. And also on the other side which I think I need to condemn is that just because there's racist people in China doesn't mean it justifies being more racist to the Asians, right? Like remember Asians is like more than just mainland Chinese people and the the overseas like American Asians or American Chinese. They're not doing this. This is not them. So like just for for you to say something like, "Oh, we need to be more hating Asians." Like that's that's straight up racism too.
Like that it doesn't work like that. The point is the CCP has been really nice to African nations because they want to earn their votes in places like the UN where you can cast 50 votes in favor of China. Uh or when say you need to alienate Taiwan, you need those votes.
They they've even gone so far to bring African international students and also other uh Middle Eastern too but like from Pakistan for example or from other parts of Asia. Uh they will bring them to Chinese universities as international students and they will assign them a study buddy this female college student a Chinese female college student who will be with them for four years. Like literally the Chinese universities are pimping out female college students to be with these people for study buddies.
Uh again like a lot of times they're forced them to do this so that the girls were from like regular or poor families.
uh will be able to graduate or be able to get like a scholarship, that type of thing. So like they're basically like using prostitution as a method of buying the favors from these international students. So when you go to interview them uh from the Chinese state media, obviously they're going to say, "Oh, China's so great. You know, China loves us. China's China is great for foreigners and international students."
Like this is what they do, right? But you got to remember like the key here is that when the Chinese government goes to Africa, they're they're they're not there to make benefits like the corrupt politicians in Africa. They're selling out their power and their control of the country to uh China to the CCP. What they get in return is the manifestation of these type of behaviors. So instead of the the European colonization, now you got the the new Communist Party block colonization. Okay. Just from a personal experience, like I've never met a black person until I moved out of China. Like the only person foreigner that I've met was a white uh teacher from Australia or the UK. He was there to teach English. And it was is like for most people I would say is more like intriguing to see somebody with a darker skin color uh or different sort of texture of hair than it is to actually think that they hate these people because of their skin color. Now you you you'll find a lot of these examples of uh of what's been happening in China.
Like did we forget that in 2020 they kicked out a bunch of African people in China because they were trying to blame the Africans for spreading the virus? Uh so they kicked them out of the apartments. Like those examples exist, right? But I think overall the majority of the people I think is just the sense of curiosity. Uh but like if if I'm trying to be objective, I think Chinese people are like pretty racist and they have different levels of racism just as I mentioned in this racism level chart.
All right, thank you very much for watching this episode. Let me know your thoughts in the comments. Do you agree with my assessment? Or if you think I'm the most racist person today, uh, or whatever else that you want to talk about, let me know your thoughts. I love to read about them. And thank you very much for watching.
