A balanced diet requires the ideal amount of nutrients from specific food groups (protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, and minerals) based on individual body type and physical goals. Lunch is considered one of the most important meals of the day, ideally consumed when most active (midday), as it should be the largest meal to replenish energy and support daily function. Missing lunch can disrupt the body's metabolic state, leading to increased cravings and potential overeating later. Examples of balanced lunches include chicken salad (protein, vitamins, minerals, and carbohydrates) and protein shakes with nuts (high in protein and fiber). Vegetables are essential for digestion and provide the majority of vitamins and minerals, with fiber crucial for bowel health.

Tone up your body and heal your soul. A rise. Jamaica, let's work out fitness. Move your body now.
Feel the energy. Don't slow it down. Oh, help and wellness. This is your time with co get strong. Shine bright.
Start your day right.
Build the strength. Feel the light. Oh, believe the way.
Right. So, if you've made it this far, congratulations to you. All right. Now, today, this morning, we're going to do things a little bit differently. Just a little bit differently, right? So I know that you you're you're probably of the expectation that I know that you're probably of the expectation that we are going to be, you know, doing a whole heap of jumping up and down, but no, that's not the case today. All right, that's not the case today. So what we're actually going to do, what we're actually going to do is some mobility and stretching. this morning.
All right. Now, the only thing that you need is your mats. That's all we're going to use today. So, let me just adjust my camera so that you can see me clearly and what we're going to do. All right. So, let's get your mats and come on down with me. Let's get some work.
All right. So, get the mats. Right.
Good. Now, here we are. So we're kneeling on one leg and the next leg is like this. And this is all that we are going to do. So here we are. Just like this.
Just like this. All right. So this is it. You just want to press the knees in, press the knees out. All right. Now with one minute on with one minute on the screen, we are ready to go. And here we are. So, we're doing one minute on each side pretty much.
There we go. So, we're just pressing the knees in and we're pressing the knees out. And that's all it is. Cool.
And if the mat is thin like mine, then you might need to get a cushion right for the knees. So, here we are. And this is all that we do. So, we press the knees in, press the knees out, and we're doing it for 1 minute.
If you're just joining, welcome to Arise Jamaica. I am Coach Ranga.
Keep loading.
All right, we are almost there.
Keep it going. Keep it going. Welcome to Arise Jamaica. For those who are just joining, we are happy to have you.
All right, now we transition to the next leg.
Ready to go. So, it's the same procedure. Press knee in, press knee out. Let's So, it's a beautiful Friday, you know. So, we're ending our week on the right leg.
Keep going.
Keep going.
>> Good.
>> Now we're almost there.
Almost there.
I like the feeling I'm getting from this, especially on the inner thighs.
Almost there.
Good job. Now we're going to the next leg, right?
And we're going to tip and lean forward.
See? So with 1 minute on the screen, this is what we do. Now we tip and we're leaning forward just like that. Yeah.
Let's go. So, I want to keep the heels off the ground.
Good. Now, remember, if your mat is thin, then you'll need to get a cushion. All right? Or something soft. Neil, keep going.
Good.
How you feeling so far, guys?
>> Good. So far so good. Love it.
And we're almost there.
Same thing for the next leg. Let's go.
So, we tip and we lean forward into the stretch. Good.
So, we're just tipping and leaning forward in the stretch. That's all we're doing pretty much. See?
Good. Keep going, guys. Keep going.
Almost there.
Now, if you're just joining, we welcome you to Arise Jamaica. I'm Coach Wendle.
>> Keep going.
>> We're almost there.
work.
All right, lovely.
Now, we're going to be seated.
Hands to the side.
Toes up. Chest up. Legs shoulderwidth apart. And this is what we do next. Here we go.
So, this is it. With 1 minute on the screen, this is what we're doing. Let's go. So, here we are. And you want to press that knee as low or close as possible to the ground as you can.
Right?
Just to get the stretch on the outer part of the thighs.
So this is one way in which we stretch the abductors.
Good. Keep going.
So, press the knee close to the ground as best as possible.
All right. So, a fun fact.
This doesn't seem like it has anything to do with the back or the lower back I should say, but if you have low back problems, this exercise is definitely for you.
Next leg. Let's go. Same procedure.
>> Keep going.
>> So, want to keep the chest up and to the side. We're just bringing the leg the knee close to the ground as best as possible.
>> Keep moving.
Almost there.
All right, good job. Now going to bring the legs a little bit wider and we're going to bring both knees in at the same time. Here we go.
Now I'm not that flexible, so it's kind of difficult, but this is what we're doing. So the aim is to just bring the legs close together as best as possible.
So, keeping the toes open, staying on the heels.
>> And this is what we're doing.
Almost there.
>> We're almost there. And if you're just joining, welcome to Jamaica. We welcome you. I'm Coach Wenda.
>> Almost there.
All right, good job.
>> Now that's it for that in particular, right? We're still seated.
What we do next? Here we go.
So, legs are pretty much in the same place.
Chest is up, hands to the side. And here we go. Bring the legs down to the ground as much as we can. So, bring that leg down to the ground as much as you can.
So, now we're opening downwards.
Here we go.
Keep going.
Good. Now, if you're feeling this in the hips, then that's definitely where you want to feel it.
All right.
All right. Next side. Same thing.
Almost there. Keep going.
Almost there.
>> All right. Good job. Now we come back to this position.
Let's go.
And this is what we do now. So stretching one leg out. Just like this.
Here we are. And this is what we do.
Here we go.
And that's it. So, this is what we're doing. So, reaching down for the ankle slowly. We'll come back up slowly like that. Let's go.
Keep it going.
I falling.
>> All right, next leg.
>> Let's go.
Falling through.
Keep going. We're almost there.
Almost there. We're doing well.
All right. Now we're seated again. And this is what we do now with one minute on the screen.
This is it. So, we're just going to touch the toes slowly.
>> And we come back right here.
Let's go.
>> And that's it.
So, I want to keep the knee straight at all times. No bending, please.
Keep it going.
We're almost there.
We're almost there.
All right, good job.
We're on our way now. Here we go.
So crossing the leg just like this.
And this is what we do. So we use elbow to press it down or you can use your hand palm. It doesn't matter. So we're doing this and we're just pressing it constantly. Right.
Yeah. So we're doing this for a minute.
Let's go.
So you want to feel the tension on the outer thigh. Well, this is more like on the hip, on the side of the hip.
Keep going.
So, we're just pressing the leg away from our body as much as we can.
Keep going.
Almost there.
All right. Now we move to the next leg.
Same thing.
Almost there.
All right, lovely. That's it.
Now, moving to the next leg. And this is what we do now. Just like this. So, you're going to take the leg, you're going to pull it. And here we are. So we're turning the toes up and this is it. So we're leaning forward just like this. So this is it.
So just pulling your chest as close as possible to your leg repeatedly. And we're going for a minute.
Almost there.
Next side. Let's go.
>> Ready.
Keep going. We're almost there.
So far so good.
All right, lovely.
All right, now here we go.
So, bring the legs wide wide as possible. And this is it. So, here we are.
So, we're going down like this.
>> We're going to hold it for a minute.
Ready?
>> One sec. All right, let's go.
One, two, three. Let's go. So, holding it for a minute.
Never Baby We're almost there.
All right. And that's the time.
Awesome.
All right. So at this time we take our first commercial break and we return after the break. All right. So remember we meet after the break. Don't stay too long.

Thank you for waiting. I am Coach Wendell. All right. So, we're going to resume. I'm ready. Let's go.
All right. So, kneeling like this. And then we're going to take one on to press against, you know, the leg. That's the leg that we're on. And here we go.
So, this is it.
We're going for a minute. Ready to go.
All right, let's go. So, this is it.
We're going for a minute.
Keep going.
All right, next turn. Let's go.
Oh, the Dinner room.
you brewing.
Good. Keep it going. We are almost there.
All right, lovely.
>> No, here we go.
So, we're going to sit back like this.
So, this is it.
Now, we're going for a minute.
We're almost there. way.
All right, great. Now, here we go. Same position. We're just bringing one hand right across just like this. And we're holding it for a minute on each side.
Let's go.
work.
Keep going.
Almost there.
All right, next side. Let's go.
Keep it going.
All right, lovely.
All right, so here we go now. Just like this. Here we are.
And this is it.
>> So, this is it.
So, while you're bringing up your arm, you want to keep it straight. And it's the reason why, you know, I'm having my fist right here at my elbow joint.
Keep going.
right at the elbow joint.
>> Keep going.
Almost there.
>> Yeah, this is definitely really challenging.
All right, next side. Let's go.
Here we go.
Keep going. We're almost there.
You almost there.
All right, lovely.
>> Now, last but not least, here we go.
>> So, this is it.
This is all that we're doing. You know, you just swing your hand slowly right across your body.
>> Keep going.
care about.
>> Almost there.
>> All right, next arm. Let's go.
We're almost there.
Keep going.
It'll be fine.
Keep going.
All right. Lovely.
No. So, you're going to lay your side, right?
So, you're going to lay your side.
Now bring one leg over the next. So the leg that's actually um on the ground, well both legs are on the ground, but the one that you're laying on should be straight. And then the other leg should be over. Cool.
>> And then this is it.
>> So this is it.
>> That's all that we're doing just for 1 minute. Let's go.
Keep going.
We're almost there.
>> All right, next side. Let's go.
You falling falling. I see you falling falling falling falling. I see you falling falling love.
You know, you know, we're doing well and we're almost there.
I'm definitely feeling it. All right. Lovely.
>> Now, still laying on your side, putting both legs together like this. Right. And the next thing that we do is this.
See? So, watch me carefully.
>> And there we go.
>> So, it's really not too difficult.
So, putting one leg on top of the next, lifting the hips, and opening the legs.
We're almost there. Keep going.
All right. Same for the next side. Let's go.
Ready.
Good. Keep going.
Almost there. Keep going.
All right.
Here we go. Now, just like this.
So, this is it.
So just continue pulling the elbow across as much as we can and repeatedly.
Almost there.
Next side. Let's go. So, we're switching elbows now.
>> Good morning guys. I'm Coach Wendell and welcome to Nutri. All right. Now on today's topic we will be talking about lunch and that is everything surrounding lunch right and here in my layout I have a few questions for you guys today.
All right are you guys ready?
All right let's go. So, we're going to talk about what is a balanced diet. Because if we're talking about lunch, then we know that lunch must be balanced cuz it's if not, you know, the most important meal of the day, right? Yeah, man. So, it's one of, if not the most important meal of the day.
All right. So, we're going to talk about a balance, diet. So a balanced diet is pretty much having the ideal amount right of nutrients from the specific and particular food groups required.
Now what does that mean is it means though protein is good and though carbohydrate is good there is an ideal amount for each person based on body type based on physical goals that is required. Do we understand? Of course we understand right and that's what a balanced diet means. So the d the the the the diet cannot be balanced right if the nutrients are enough if enough nutrients are not there from the required food groups. So if there's not enough stable the diet is not balanced. If there's not enough fats the diet is also not balanced. And if there is not enough let's say carbohydrate then the diet cannot be balanced. And that's what a balanced diet is. Now moving on, what is the ideal time for lunch?
Some persons might have it to say, oh midday or oh um maybe 10:00 or lunch can be you know anywhere between 2 to 5. Well, ideally, I'll say the ideal time for lunch, the ideal time for lunch, honestly speaking, would be when you are mostly active. So, if we're talking about our economy and if we're talking about our culture, right, then we are mainly active, right?
And we are mostly up and about midday thereabout. Reason being is lunch should be one of the largest meals or the largest meals for the day. Right? So if it's the largest meals for the day, then it means that the requirement, right?
The requirement is going to be larger.
Of course, what do I mean by this is lunch is the largest meal of the day and you're up right throughout, right? So if you didn't get to have um whatever nutrients for breakfast that's if that's even if you had breakfast then lunch will make up for it right. So remember it's very important to give the body what it needs for function. So we're not talking about eating for taste. So you're up during the daytime mainly getting the work done. So you have to ensure that the nutrients are also balancing out for what you're doing.
What do I mean by that? If your job is, let's say you work behind a desk, argument sake, right? You work behind a desk, then you don't necessarily need to be having a lot of carbohydrates because you're not up and about, right? Why is that? Because carbohydrates is needed for energy. So, you wouldn't need a lot of carbs because you're not doing a lot of moving. know you're doing a lot of thinking and your brain needs to be refueled. So instead of having a lot of carbs, I would say try to have a little bit more fats than carbs. Makes sense, right? Okay, great.
Now we're moving right along.
Our next question, right? Uh what are the consequences if you miss lunch?
So before I answer, think about it. What are the consequences if you miss lunch?
Now let me tell you what are the consequences if you miss lunch and this is no joke at all. So if you miss lunch, it's very serious, right? Because what's going to happen is that the state in which your body would have been in is going to change. Right? Right? I don't want to use too much scientific terms right now, but let's say for example the body um let's say the body is no longer in fasting mode. But I'm just explaining so you all can understand cuz you have had breakfast now you missed lunch right so that that 2 to 4 hour window would have passed and now we're rolling over into 5 6 7 hours of you not eating that's basically considered to be fasting right now when you eat like that when you eat like that it it it creates a lot of mishaps along the way meaning that the appetite is going to be reopened And you can sometime crave things that you wouldn't have craved if you had at on time.
So that's how important it is to not miss lunch. So when you miss lunch sometime you can try to make up for it but make up for it in the wrong way by eating things that you ideally shouldn't be eating. Right? And that's because of the craving and the feeling.
All right. Moving right along.
Two examples of a perfect lunch.
Anybody think about two examples of a perfect lunch?
Two examples. All right. So, two examples of a perfect lunch. One, we all know chicken salad. Perfect. Now, chicken salad. Why is it a perfect example? Well, one of my perfect examples of what a perfect lunch should be is that if you check what a a chicken salad is comprised of, we're talking about the protein, the chicken, we're talking about the minerals, the vitamins that would be in the veggies, right? And we're talking about carbs. So, some chicken salad you might add a little bit of um what you call it again, cranberry, right?
um some some chicken salad also or some salads in general normally you'll get a little bit of sweet potato or Irish in it not too much so I consider chicken salads to be perfect for lunch that's one now another another perfect lunch option another perfect lunch option can always be a protein shake always always right is But super high in protein and fiber, especially if you add the nuts to it like the flax seed, the cherry seed, the almonds. Perfect.
And you know, it's easily it's easy to consume.
All right. So, we're moving right uh along.
All right. So, let's talk a little about the fun facts of vegetables. Now, a lot of persons ignore or omit vegetables out of their diet and ideally that should not be the case. Reason being vegetables helps with digestion and we get the larger part of our vitamin and minerals from vegetables.
So that's how important vegetables are, right? Um well the the the roughage of our vegetables or vegetables that carries a lot of ruffage are most times high in fiber, right? And we need fiber when it comes on to bowel use. So without enough fiber, we have stomach issues, digestion issues, and before you know it, constipation might be on the rise. So that's not something that we generally want, right? Not at all.
Good morning. This is Reverend the host for Arise Jamaica. At 6:00 a.m. in the morning, a word of inspiration, a motivational speech to bring you through your day. Don't miss it. Every morning at 6:00 a.m. PDTV, Arise Jamaica. Heaven and bless you.
>> As children, we learn the true meaning of being a hero.
>> Being a hero requires great sacrifice for others. For others, not just ourselves.
We learned about the heroes of Jamaica's past and how much of themselves and their lives they had to give in building a nation we should be proud to call home.
They believed in a Jamaica that was more than just a country, more than just an island, more than lancered by water.
They believed in a dream of a free nation of people. A nation built on the foundation of their sacrifices.
A nation of many people working as one.
a nation that would continue to produce legends and nation builders that serve towards that vision.
As children, we were also taught the national pledge, a solemn promise, an undertaking.
I would like to believe Sir Hugh Sherlock, while writing this pledge, understood the vision and dreams of our heroes.
It's clear being a hero is too much to ever ask anyone citizen.
Luckily, the pledge does not require heroics of any of us. It merely asks that we honor heroes by striving to advance our nation and ultimately inspire the world like they and many Jamaicans have done.
It's important we remember those words, these words.
Before God and all mankind, I pledge love and loyalty of my heart, the wisdom and courage of my mind, the strength and vigor of my body in service of my fellow citizens.
I promise to stand up for justice, brotherhood, and peace. To work diligently and creatively, to think generously and honestly so that Jamaica may under God increase in beauty, fellowship, and prosperity, and play her part in advancing the welfare of the whole human race.
Heat up here.
Heat. Heat.
Oh, heat, heat.
Yeah.
Heat.
If you are like me, a Jamaican born and raised on this land, maybe you will remember saying those words, singing that song in a classroom or some general assembly. If so, like me, you made a pledge.
Somehow, it seems like many of us have forgotten that the crime and violence, the indisipline and shortsightedness, the corruption, the lack of respect for our beautiful lands we are blessed with, and the waters that surround and nurtures us.
We have to do better.
Let us honor our heroes so that they would not have sacrificed so much in vain.
I hope this video can make a difference to even one soul.
If so, it would all be worth it.
If you feel the way I do, share it.
May my voice become yours.
Thanks for watching.
When the sun rise, blessings flow.
Your mercy that we all know.
Through the night we kept you strong.
Now it's time to rise and move on from your home to every street.
>> Feel the spirit. Hear the be.
>> Give him thanks for life today.
