CLPR, or Clipper as it's pronounced, stands for cross-ledger protocol. And unlike traditional bridges, CLPR, Clipper, is being designed as a bridgeless interoperability protocol. No pooled liquidity, no wrapped asset bridge model, no intermediary validator network. Instead, Hashgraph says Clipper is being built around cryptographic proofs and direct cross-ledger communication, allowing tokens, data, and messages to move across networks in a more secure way. So, HashPort shutting down is not just a bridge going away from Hedera. It is actually a signal that the old model of blockchain interoperability is being replaced. For Hedera, HBAR, Hashgraph, and HashSphere, Clipper, or CLPR, could become the next major piece of infrastructure, especially because CLPR is designed to connect HashSphere private networks with the Hedera public network, including sphere-to-sphere and sphere-to-Hedera transfers.
