The government’s claim that carbon taxes don't affect grocery prices while admitting fuel hikes do is a blatant logical contradiction. This messaging prioritizes political narrative over basic economic reality, undermining public trust in fiscal policy.

The Canadian Grocery Price Double Standard + Scary Ding Dong DitchAdded:
No, that's not why No, no, that's not why food's got more expensive. It's the greedy grocers.
Before we get started on today's today's topic, I just want to show you this and a a couple of other things.
Uh This happened like near my house, very very near my house, right? I'm not going to say how near, but it was pretty damn near.
Now, what's happening with the youth of today that they're doing this?
And not only are they doing this at 5:30 a.m. in the morning, but we have people like this defending it, saying, "Oh, it's just knock a door and run or whatever you call it, tick-tack-toe or something."
It isn't. When somebody does that to your door, that could damage the door.
If If there's an elderly person in there with a with a bit of a heart problem, that noise and banging on the door and this isn't the first time at that house, either. It I think it's because that house is situated on a corner and is an easy target, but yeah, this is this is twice that it's happened.
I I just don't like Do you know where your kids are at 5:30 in the morning?
I know, exactly.
You should know, shouldn't you? The The youth of today are the I don't They're just It's out of control. This shouldn't be happening in Canada, not the Canada that I moved to almost 20 years ago. Th- This This isn't a This wasn't a thing, but now kids seem to be able to just get away with anything, don't they, because the government are really light light-handed on kids and and on on youths with the with the with the criminal justice system sort of making them uh I do I could I could say not um not criminal responsible for the things that they do because of their age.
However, that they want to bring the voting age down to like 16 in some part in in some countries. And in Canada, they were talking about that. So, I don't get it. They're either They're either They're either responsible for their actions or they're not.
If you don't like to listen to my um >> [laughter] >> personal stuff, I only I do this bit so that um well, so that YouTube thinks I'm a human uh because there's been lots of people being uh thrown off YouTube at the moment. Just Just like one of the things was just for sitting and reading the news or reading out articles. So, I try and incorporate a little bit more into the videos now. I know some people don't like it, but that's how it's got to be on YouTube now. So, uh if you want to fast forward, that's fine. I've no problem with that.
Uh otherwise, yeah.
It is what it is. So, today I got to go filling some forms at the Pain Management Center. So, I'm going to go in and do that.
And there it is on the second floor. You can see the uh the sign in the top right window.
Um that's the entrance.
So, I got to walk all the way up there.
Well, first time going in this building.
It's uh Bailey Square. We usually go watch the concerts in the back, but uh got to go in and fill out some forms for the Pain Management people.
So, if you're in the Durham region and you need to go to this pain clinic, it's at 65 Bailey and it's on suite 202 on the second floor. There is an elevator takes you up there.
Um yeah, it's a nice posh new office.
These are all brand new buildings.
Had a lot of things to fill in.
And uh yes, it says you can't use your phone in here hold on let's try and zoom this in there's no quiet zone no phones plenty of forms there to fill in there was about eight pages you got to tick a box and say from zero to 10 how much the pain is which is funny really because sat here or driving no pain nothing zero I know but when I start walking it's like 10 so it's like I don't know like how do you explain that to them when you're like you said zero pain I could yeah zero pain when I'm sat down anyway they asked me about my insurance I don't know if any of this is all covered on OHIP I will have to find out when I get in there I'm not going till next month so couple of weeks so the CTV brought out an article just this week saying that the rise in fuel prices is going to make people's lives unaffordable or worst worst to affordable cuz we're always being preached that life is more affordable more affordable in Canada aren't we by the by the liberal government but obviously it isn't but the other thing that we're also told by the liberal government is that the carbon tax that they're putting on diesel and on industry isn't really affecting fuel prices so why is the spike in oil prices and fuel a something to worry about things shouldn't go up should they if carbon tax doesn't make things more expensive why does just putting the price of fuel up not make it more expensive everything is going to get more expensive they reckon there's going to be a squeeze on aircraft fuel food fertilizer anything to do with what anybody does, the the rise in the price of of gas, in the price of oil, affects everything.
Again, I want to go back to the fact that this liberal government told us that putting carbon tax, an industrial carbon tax, on fuel and on on items that that, you know, like um like the farmers having to heat or dry uh corn or dry What is it? Uh dry uh wheat and stuff.
They're saying that that doesn't filter down to us.
But it does. It it it must do if fuel charges and the higher fuel and the higher oil price makes food more unaffordable and life more unaffordable, then what Why doesn't carbon tax do it? What's the magical thing about carbon tax that it doesn't make things more of more unaffordable or more expensive? Let's just say it makes more things more expensive and so does the price of gas going up because of a conflict in the Middle East. Even the Bank of Canada has said that the rise in gas prices and the rise in oil is going to affect groceries and fertilizer and everything else that we buy or we sell.
So with the oil prices, they're telling us to get ahead of it. It's It's already 4.4% higher than it was before. And it's going to get worse. It's going to get worse as the as the oil prices goes on for any for anything that is trucked.
They're saying anything that's trucked.
So now, when you listen to the mainstream media, they're saying that the rise in fuel prices is affecting the lives of Canadians on on a on a massive scale.
But you remember before they were saying carbon tax doesn't affect anything.
Industrial carbon tax on for truck drivers and everything.
No, that's not what No. No. That's not why food's got more expensive. It's the greedy grocers.
Yeah. Well, now we're seeing the uh the BS rise to the top. Anyway, with that, see you on the next one, maybe.
>> [laughter] >> See you guys.
