Essential oil expiration dates can be decoded by examining the code on the bottle bottom: the first two digits represent the production year, the next three digits indicate the day of the year using the Julian calendar (where January 1st is day 001 and December 31st is day 365), the sixth digit is the batch number, and the letters at the end indicate the country of origin (such as AB for Russia, A for USA, L for Canada, B for Japan, C for Taiwan, D for Australia, E for Hong Kong, F for Mexico, G for Korea, and Y for Europe).
