INVESTORS BRIEFINGS: UBA SHAREHOLDERS CONSIDER 2025 FINANCIALS

[00:00:03][music] >> Now back home to Nigeria, the shareholders of UBA, the Pan African Global Bank, today approved the full year 2025 financials of the listed lender at their annual meeting. The virtual meeting includes the re-election of some directors of the company, the payment of dividend as well as facts behind the operations of the bank and outlook for the ongoing financial year.

[00:00:35]I feel you that the dividend is not final dividend is not paid for this year.

[00:00:43]Given the fact that we have had history of um decent dividend payment.

[00:00:50]In 2023, in 2024, we paid very strong dividend of up to 15% dividend yield.

[00:00:59]In this uh year under consideration, that's 2025, Central Bank came up with um the policy to exit forbearance window.

[00:01:12]And UBA Bank has exited that window.

[00:01:16]And doing that meant we had to incur some provisions over 100 and 1 billion provision.

[00:01:26]Billion naira provision.

[00:01:28]And that is in line with the prudential guideline.

[00:01:33]And this Central Bank we have today is a Central Bank that is very strong on compliance, which is good for the economy.

[00:01:42]And we have complied.

[00:01:44]That meant that we have to work hard That meant that we have to work hard this year to ensure that we recover all these bad loans.

[00:01:56]I want to assure you that we have put structures in place, strong mechanism, more aggressive recovery mechanisms to ensure that all the funds, all the bad loans come back.
