[00:00:24]All righty, guys. Welcome back to another video. We're picking up in the same day as last video. We're back at the shop and we're going to work on the retaining wall for the rest of the day.

[00:01:47]Should not take us too long. We got on a really good roll uh yesterday or last video for you guys. So, I think we can kind of knock this out pretty darn quick. This is a lot of weight in the trailer. I'd guess uh 3500 a pallet for there. So, 7,000 and then we've got 9 400 lb stone. So, 3600. So, 106 pallets.

[00:05:44]Luke's just moving pallets around to bring them over. And we got a nice stepped seat wall. This will hold back that dirt there. And then the stairs are going to be coming down here anyway. So, they probably won't even really be using any of this. They might use that as kind of a seat wall. But this is uh this went really good now that we got the hang of it.

[00:06:46]All right, guys. We finally finished the wall. Both walls are completely 100% done except the back fill here and clean up. But I was going to do a couple different methods for this return, but I think this ended up being really, really clean. is uh just turning one of the caps down like that. It just kind of ties it all in. And when this is all stamped, it'll look beautiful.

[00:07:14]Awesome. We're going to get picked up and we're going to get out of here for the day. We'll be back tomorrow to finish the back fill like that and then hopefully set the steps. But I'm not quite sure how that's going to go without a fancy jig. We're just going to have to do it the redneck way with a strap or something or lift it by hand. I have no idea. All right, guys. All righty, guys. Just pulled into the shop. Going to call this a wrap for the night. We will pick back up tomorrow. We're going to clean up today's pour. We're going to finish up the retaining wall project. We'll finish up the hardscape aspect of it. They're going to build the deck and then we'll come back and pour the stamped patio afterwards. The guys with the patio and driveway extension from yesterday picking everything up. They're stripping forms and stuff like that. I'm going to head to 8 point to get some more stone. That way we uh definitely have enough for this.

So, I love uh love these parts of the projects, too, cuz you really get to kind of see the finished product instead of just stacking a block, stacking a block, stacking them.

[00:24:45]We are just grading this gravel pad here. This is where our concrete landing is going to be. And uh we're getting the last bit of gravel in here.

[00:26:24]That's the nice thing about these pre-casts. We can glue them, tap them exactly into place, and then they're good to go. And then right here, probably a little hard to visualize, but starting here will be 7in thick concrete landing coming out here. And this landing will match the stamped patio.

[00:26:42]Then there's three more steps or maybe four. I can't remember how many I ordered going up here. And then that will be a sidewalk in the future. So, this is kind of why it looks incomplete, but it's going to be even nicer and more custom than if we just kept on going with the pre-cast.

[00:27:00]We're just doing a final pickup and we'll get out of here and head back to the shop to plant some trees.

[00:27:09]All right, guys. We're going to get out of here and head back to the shop. This is the first like crazy hot day. It's 82° with zero breeze and pure sun. It's not that hot, but 2 days ago it was 36 for the high. So, it's kind of a shock to the body. I'm pretty dehydrated. I need to go drink a lot more water when I get home. Okay, guys. We're back at the shop. The guys are getting the uh 2500 hooked up to the tree trailer, the trailer of trees. We've got 20 28 inch trip ball um Norway spruces. And then we have 10 5 foot arboritees. I think I don't or they might be 4 foot. I don't know.

[00:27:52]We're going to get some spray paint, a long tape, and a string line. We'll get little paint mark so that everything's perfect. And then uh I can augur the holes. The guys can the arbor buddies will be easy. They'll just be able to pick them up by hand and set them. The 30-inch balls we're going to have to definitely fork into place. They're 500 lb. So, these arbories here are to kind of block the shot view. So, when we're on our back patio, we can't see any of the trucks or anything like that. It's going to take probably 5 10 years before it's actually a wall. But, best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The second best time is today.

[00:40:46]Good morning, guys. It is Thursday and we are back at it again. Going to do some stuff around the shop. I have some need to go do some building departments, a health department, a zoning, all sorts of places. We're uh working on getting permits ready for a pool. It's turning into a lot of work. I'm realizing it's uh the same level of work pretty much as building a full new house. So, I've been coordinating and trying to push people along, but sometimes those those places are just so slow. So, I'm trying to handle that this morning. So, we were going to go down and prep the patio or we're going to kind of flip it around.

[00:41:21]I'm going to have the guys work on the trees that we planted last night while I'm doing that. And then we can all go down and prep the patio. So, I think that'll work out the best. And we have a nice beautiful day. I think it's going to rain tomorrow, so this might be the last nice work day of the week. This finally came. Got the DeWalt battery powered compressor. going to find a way to either ratchet strap it or I don't know, connect it to the sprayer somehow for when we're spraying sealer.

[00:41:51]That way it's just perfectly atomized the whole time. I'm actually curious.

[00:41:56]I'm going to try it right now and see if it works. All righty. I realized I got the wrong compressor fitting. Got quarter inch NPT cuz that's what I thought it was. But this must be 8 in. I don't know. It's a lot smaller. So, I'm going have to take this to Well, I don't even know if Menards would have something like that.

[00:42:17]Well, never mind. Can't check the sprayer, but it's okay. We don't need it this week. I'll get it figured out over the weekend. But, I think it's going to be really nice. I think the compressor is more than powerful enough to keep the sprayer at a high PSI and it should just be like if you're a concrete guy, you know, right after like the first 30 seconds after you really pump up a sprayer, it's just beautifully atomized and then you start losing pressure and it starts getting bigger droplets and it'll start dripping more and it's just a pain in the butt cuz it's hard sometimes to hurry and go fast enough to put it down and repump it. So, this should eliminate all of that headache hopefully.

[00:42:57]Okay, I'm going to head and uh make my first stop at the first department. I'm going to get the guys organizing trucks for the day when they get here and we'll just kind of play this day by ear.

[00:43:32]Put the windows down. It's a beautiful day. 64°. Not a cloud in the sky. We've got our downspout material so we can bury down spouts. We've got our augur that we used yesterday for the trees. I just rented it for another day and we're going to use it on this job. The guys are getting sidetubes right now from 8 point. So, we're going to get these footings for the deck augured down in.

[00:43:53]We're going to get inspection. Then hopefully, fingers crossed, if we pass inspection, which we almost always do, we'll get them poured today. That way, there's not a cave-in issue overnight with the rain. And then, uh, I'm not actually sure if the homeowner wants me to pour the patio first or wait till after they build the deck. The way we're doing the footings, we could do either one. So, I don't know. We might kind of stay on this job longer than I thought and just finish up the patio, which would be awesome for me. I hate going around decks and staircases, but we'll just see what the homeowner wants and do whatever they prefer. All right, so we're going to get this job site cleaned up today and get this whole area prepped. Got a bury Oh, I guess it's just one down spout.

[00:44:37]I don't know why I was thinking it's two. I'm going to have them kick this down spout over this way so we are not relying on burying this one all that way. It's just not worth it. So, we'll tie this and then at some point, like after we're totally done, this drain tile, that drain tile, and that downspout will all connect and go to a popup somewhere. And then this one can just go off into the yard sideways for Yeah, that's not much roof load at all. So that can just be a popup over there. And that way we have as few things running underneath our slab to potentially fail as possible. I'm always a fan of that. Just kind of playing it safe. We also have all of those. We only used one actual end cap. And then we have all this. We're going to return these. And then we got about 10% extra block. I just wanted to make sure we had plenty. So I ordered extra that way uh we didn't have to stop the project and wait for more. Can't believe I beat the guys, but I did uh I went to the township and got zoning approval for the pool. So, that is the first step in this crazy set of steps to get approved to build the pool. Then, we have to actually build the pool. So, there's a lot of steps to it. But the first one went about as smooth as possible. Next, we'll get into the health department. Then, we'll get into the building department.

[00:54:11]We are setting the top of these footings to the top of our concrete. So, basically just have to do layout like I'm getting ready to form up 11. I want to be an inch below the threshold. So, I'm going up to 3T.

[00:55:58]So this needs to be an inch and 3/4 lower than that. But what you do on a laser is you move it up so that the bottom of your laser is going down. So you kind of have to move this the opposite direction of what you're trying to do with the grade.

[00:57:02]So, what we're going to do is when they get the deck layout done, we'll snap lines and let's say the outside of the post is here, we're going to make a nice square. We'll saw cut horizontally and vertically. I did that backwards.

[00:57:16]Vertically and horizontally. And we'll cut a nice square. So, cuz this will be a finished area up in our slab. I think they're going to wrap it with a post or something afterwards, but we don't want a 16inch circle in the middle. So, we'll figure out where their posts are going to be. We'll go a couple inches outside of that, chop it down, and give them a nice square. So, that's why these edges aren't perfect, but it's more than good enough for what we're doing. Wow, that's pretty neat. That's hardly any water.

[00:59:04]I'm running a little bit behind. We got the drainage work dug, not complete. So, we need to tie in this drain. And then we need to wire all these together. We got his drain tile for his foundation patched and brought out here to a tee.

[00:59:22]And then that down spout will kick over there. So, we still need some more fill.

[00:59:26]We're definitely low still, but we got our footings poured. We got most of our gravel in. And we got a lot of the stuff hauled away. We got all the extra block returned.
