The hero's welcome for a rape accused exposes a profound moral rot where misogyny is celebrated as a badge of honor. It is a chilling testament to a society that has traded its conscience for the glorification of predators.

Ghaziabad Rape Accused Gets Hero's Welcome After Bail, Nation OutragedHinzugefügt:
Viewer, we pretend to be shocked about Twisha Sharma's death.
But let's be really honest, you and me, none of us are shocked. None of us are surprised about how casually crimes against women are taken in our country.
And if you needed further validation of that, please take a look at the pictures on your screen. The most viral video of the week. This one from Delhi's UP suburb of Ghaziabad, where a man accused of rape walked out of jail on bail only to receive garlands, a huge adoring crowd that hoisted him on their shoulders, and a massive hero's welcome. Look at these pictures.
The man circled there is a man named Sushil Prajapati, a local leader of an outfit called the Hindu Yuva Vahini, out on bail 8 months after his arrest for rape.
The case is still live, and he hasn't been convicted, sure. But the alleged victim is still waiting for justice.
But his supporters didn't care about that. And somewhere, his victim is also watching this. Think about that for a moment. This is 2026. We talk so much about why crimes against women like Twisha Sharma persist in this country.
We look for complicated cultural and societal answers, but maybe the answer is right here in this video, playing on loop. It's because society doesn't just tolerate these men, it celebrates them.
Look at this. It sends them home with flowers. What does a girl child think when she sees this? What does her mother think? What does any woman in this country think when she sees that the social cost of being accused of rape is a welcome party of this kind?
The apologists will say, "These were just his supporters, emotional, expressing their feelings." Fine.
Then let's be honest about what those feelings are, and what they say about us. The real rot is not that this happened. The real rot is that most of us shrugged. We've seen this before when Bilkis Bano's rapists were garlanded and fed laddus. Remember that?
We'll see it again and that numbness, that exhausted, defeated shrug is exactly how societies that have normalized violence against women behave. We are not shocked anymore and that is the most damning thing of all.
