The Tesla Model Y lease deal with $400/month payments appears attractive but is actually a poor financial choice due to high lease APR rates (3.14% for RWD, 4.44% for AWD, up to 5.59% for premium models), which are significantly higher than the 0-0.99% financing rates available for purchase. The Model 3 offers better lease terms with APRs as low as 0.19%, making it a superior financial option. Leasing the Model Y is only advisable for those who specifically want to lock in depreciation for a 3-year ownership period.

The New Model Y is a TERRIBLE Deal (Lease)Added:
Welcome, welcome back to the stream.
Welcome back to another video. Today, the Tesla Model Y, the brand new Tesla Model Y, is a terrible deal. Now, the payment being low, $400 a month, give or take, looks great, but it is actually a pretty bad deal beneath the surface.
Let's give you everything you need to know about it. Plus, we do have a giveaway today. So, if you want to win this Cyber Cab windup racer, all you have to do is hit that like button and just be active in the chat, you can say hi, you can say hello, you can say whatever you want to say, and then once we get to 67 likes, we'll pick a live winner live on stream. So, we're going to get into that, plus a variety of topics. But before we do that, let's roll that intro really quick.
All right, so thanks for watching another stream. Thanks for watching another video. My name is Dennis and I just like deals. I like Tesla deals and much more. If you're about to pick up your brand new Tesla, definitely check out our delivery checklist down below in the description on our website. It gives you everything you need to inspect with your brand new Tesla and it tells you what you need to do in the event you find something wrong with your Tesla. So definitely check it out on our website, dennisw.com. And thank you to everybody that's purchased a checklist in the past and in the future. Today's live stream is partnered with Plug where if you're looking to sell your electric vehicle, your Tesla vehicle nationwide, definitely check out Plug down below in the description. They're doing out some aggressive offers. They're buying electric vehicles all over the place.
You'll get an offer within 15 minutes.
They'll buy your vehicle within 2 days and the offer is going to be pretty aggressive. So definitely check out Plug down below in the description. A brand new Model Y for around $400 a month seems like a great deal, but it actually is pretty terrible. There's some hidden catches here. Let's give you everything you need to know about it because the Model Y, yes, could be as low as $459 a month or $799 if you're looking for a Model Y performance. But beneath the surface, some of the deals and mechanics behind it, it is a pretty bad deal. And shout out to Tesla ROR for being able to post the different lease interest rates because when you're leasing a vehicle, there still is a financing rate. And so if you're financing the vehicle, of course, you can get as low as 0 to 0.99%. And if you're looking to lock that in, don't forget to use a Tesla referral code just like the one down below in the description. So you can also get three months of full self driving as a bonus added to your Tesla order or orders or interest rates as low as 0 to 0.99%. But beneath the lease payment, if you're looking to lease, because some of the payments are $459, $499. Actually, some of the payments could be even lower depending on inventory discounted vehicle that is out there. But if you look at some of the interest rates, the lease APR could be pretty bad across the board. If you take a look at what is posted on Tesla's Tesla ROR, you can see the interest rate for a Model Y all-wheel drive is 4.44%.
which is actually a lot higher than when you finance it at 0%. If you're looking at a rear wheel drive, it's 3.14% versus 0%. And then when you get to the premium Model Y all-wheel drives and rear wheel drive, that's where it gets even worse.
Almost a rate here as high as almost 6%, 5.59%.
Now, of course, there's more to this when you're looking to lease. There's like residual values. There's other fees that are stacked on top of it, but that like if you were to compare this to like the Model 3, you can see the Model 3 lease APRs is 7.1 and.19%.
So even lower than 1% disaster. So that's why I keep saying like the Model 3, if you're looking to finance or if you're looking to lease, it's a pretty fantastic deal right now. If you are looking to get into a Model Y, uh leasing is not the move here unless you really know that you want to kind of lock in the depreciation. you know, you're only going to be here for 3 years or you need a vehicle for 3 years. Uh, and uh, because if you're going to be financing, it's going to be a better deal, especially with these interest rates as low as 02.99%.
But you should try and make your decision sooner than later. There's a lot of different market dynamics that are happening right now. Take a look at this. See, seems like gas is about to even go even higher, especially in California. Quote, "A super tanker docked in Long Beach just delivered California's last incoming shipment of Middle Eastern oil. a milestone for drivers already paying the nation's highest prices. And it seems like there is something going on with like the oil change, like the synthetic oils. It seems like there's a shortage on that as well. And so there could be a lot of different issues across the board if you're looking to be driving a gas vehicle oil versus whether it's oil change oil or gas oil, it is going to be a a little bit more heated uh for sure.
Sorry. In other news, we've got more real photos of the marine blue showing up at showroom deliveries across the country. This one was from Tesla Silicon owners, uh, Tilicone Silicon Valley owners, and it looks looking pretty good, especially in this dark light like this. Uh, very, very, very sporty. We also have it compared to the frost blue here from Brandon. And, uh, frost blue, I feel like, is one of those colors. It looks a lot better in person versus photographed because it definitely is probably a little bit more sportier. But let us know what your thoughts on. Let us know what you're thinking. If you're looking to be selling your electric vehicle, definitely check out Plug down below in the description. They want to buy your electric vehicle nationwide and they want to get you the highest offer out there. We've seen some of the screenshots. It could be 3, four, 5, $6,000 over everybody else. So, definitely check out Plug if you're looking to sell your electric vehicle.
You'll get an offer within two days or 15 minutes and they'll buy your vehicle within 2 days. So, definitely check out Plug down below in the description.
We do have a giveaway today. So, if you want to win this Cyber Cab windup racer, all you have to do is hit that like button. You might as well hit the subscribe button because it's right next to it. And just be active in the chat.
You can say hi, you can say hello, you can say whatever you want to say, and then once we get to 67 likes, we'll pick a live winner live on stream. But let's see who drop by today. Carl, great to see you. Rich, great to see you. Leang Exploration Frail Justin Blueberry Pluto Cyborg Cruz Rudy Kayla Kan Jennifer Regular Joe Travels Survivor Fan Shark uh Rob Mr. Vic Alex Champagne Safs Bobby Amir Saxopern Dylan Mark Alfonso and Gregory Negrroni. Thank you all for dropping by. Thanks for hitting the like button, the comments and uh everything.
Yeah, let us know what you think about these deals on the Model Y and if you're leasing them. I'm really curious because a lot of you do are a lot of you are out there trying to buy the Tesla Model Y, but I hope a lot of you are financing it. I mean, with interest rates as low as 0 to 0.99%. That's the better deal here than leasing. Unless you really know that you don't want like you want like the hardware 5 instead of the hardware 4 because we know that's coming. We just don't know when that is actually going to be coming out.
Terrible deal until next month. Yeah, Carl, that's a good point because uh maybe this deal will change in the near future. Or maybe it won't because taking a look at inventory, I mean, this muster line is Model Y. It's staying pretty consistent in this range here. And so, it's not necessarily going up in any sort of way. Leang, terrible deal compared to the Model 3. Yeah, Model 3 is just a fantastic deal across the board. And of course, there could be other reasons for that like changing or a little bit of a mid refresh like black headliner, new screen, and other things as well.
Let's see here.
Any news on the Rivian R2 Champagne? Uh I think there's employee deliveries right now. And I think uh I think the regular people like us or I guess people that own Rivians because those are the people the owners that are going to get prioritized that they're supposed to hear more in June. Well, I guess we're supposed to hear more in June as well.
Got an update on my premium CT. It's now in production. Is there any information on CD production speed? can't find any information on how fast they are produced. Uh for it's about a couple weeks out, like uh actually at a minimum like 3 to four weeks out because of transportation as well. It's going to take like a week to get to where you're at. Bobby, is getting a launch edition Model Y a bad idea when it comes to the US or should I wait for a few months so they can iron out the kinks? Bobby, I mean, if you want a deal, there never is a good deal on a brand new vehicle.
Whether it's a brand new vehicle that comes out in a few months or the first few months to six or I mean, take a look at the Model Y performance. has been out almost 6 months now and there still isn't a great deal on it. I mean there's inventory discounts but it's not like crazy.
So in terms of the Model Y L I mean I think there's going to be demand for that. It really seems like a lot of people want it and it makes actually I would really assume that there is a lot more demand on that because there is no more Model X. So, uh certainly I think uh I would probably wait like probably a year uh before getting it to make sure they iron out all the kinks and issues and also make sure the deal uh gets updated as well.
In this next topic, Tesla full self-driving pricing actually makes zero sense. Here's the updates that they should make so that they can get more customers to adopt it. There's a great thread here from Sawyer. And I mean, pricing should really be adjusted and should really fluctuate based upon the owner. Like $999 a year would make a ton of sense if you want to get paid in full for full self driving now just because it's subscription only. So the first idea that SA had is annual full self-driving subscription starting at $1,000 a year. Of course, it will probably increase across all across the board. Subscriptions will probably increase as full subd driving gets better, but we should get a discount if we're willing to pay upfront for it. I mean, there's a lot of companies now that will give you a discount if you pay upfront for their service. Short-term pass. Number two, for rental fleets or Turo. When an individual rents a Tesla, they do not want to pay $100 for a full month. Now, I kind of agree with this.
There's people that will rent a vehicle for a weekend. They want to try it, but they don't want to pay $100 because there is no prrated refund. paying $10 a day, $5 a day, or $20 for a week. I think that's a better deal and I think would get more revenue for them and get more people to adopt it because that's a lower barrier for people to sign up. And I really feel like they should offer that for regular owners as well because I probably talked to a handful of people that would love to take it for a road trip for like the weekend. They just don't want to pay the full $100. Full self-driving family plan. This one's kind of interesting. If a family or household already owns a Tesla with full self driving and purchase a second Tesla, offer full self-driving on the additional vehicle at a slightly discounted monthly rate. This is like second users here. And I could see that working. Pay $100 for the first one and then like 50 for the second one and so on and so forth. Like a group discount for like a mobile phone type of plan.
That could be pretty cool for sure. FSD leaderboards. I mean, that's pretty cool as well to try and incentivize and gamify the most people that can use full driving like over the different amount of miles. And I think they're working on that actually because we saw a leak like that a long time ago. Full self driving subscription for hardware 3 owners at $69 a month. I think this makes the most sense. Hardware 3 owners have been shafted for so long and they really should not be paying $100 a month. I would be surprised if there's any of them. It's probably a very very very low percentage of hardware 3 Tesla owners that are paying $69 a month. And I kind of agree with this. I actually kind of feel like $69 a month is a little high.
Maybe it should be like $49 a month or $50 a month. Here's a massive rumor rumor here though from Vader. Rumor is Tesla basic autopilot is making a return in a future update likely to have more DNA from full self-driving. I think this could be an interesting one and maybe they should call it like full self-driving basics so that it could be different tiers and levels from that instead of bringing back autopilot. But of course that would add more confusion to all the different confusion that was out there. But at least that could try and incentivize people to try and get people to upgrade to the full full self-driving subscription because that's what Elon wants and that's of course what Tesla wants for more revenue and uh everything. But let us know what your thoughts on it. Ronda Santis posted this today about full self driving. Quote, I have friends who never touch the steering wheel anymore because of it of course and referencing because of full self-driving. So, it's starting to reach that like eclipse here of or starting to reach that peak or not peak, but starting to reach over that hump of more people starting to realize what it is and it's starting to get more in the marketing. And I think people know what it is at this time. Now, it's getting people to actually try it, trust it, and believe in it. Because, of course, once you sit in it and try and you see real how it actually works, then it's kind of hard to go back to regular driving. It's also kind of hard to pay for accessories. That's why you can get a discount if you use promo code from Joaha down below in the description. and all the different premium accessories that you can get for your Tesla vehicle.
Their top accessories that they told me they sell is this game controller, this phone, this desk mount, and this phone mount. I use this phone mount a ton when I'm on full self-driving. Definitely don't forget to use that discount code down below in the description. Get free shipping over a certain amount, free returns, and much more down below in the description from Job.

You can say hi, you can say hello, you can say whatever you want to say. And then once we get to 67 likes, we'll pick a live winner live on stream.
Saka, get your delivery checklist code Dennis 35 for 3W floor mats. Check out plug for EV trade in. Thank you, Saka.
You know the whole drill for sure. Thank you for dropping by. Thanks for hitting the like button. Gregory, didn't you get the Model Y Juniper? Do you hate it, too? Saw your post from someone else's review. Yeah, we've had the Model Y Juniper launch series and now we have the Model Y performance. And the thing is like I kind of vibe with some of the things he's saying because actually our Model Y performance has some of those same issues, but I guess it's like just the different levels of your like annoyance of those different features.
And I get it like if you're paying 5060 $40,000 for a brand new Tesla vehicle, you want it to be like perfectly great, right? No rattles or nothing. Uh but also at the same time like this is not our first goaround. we kind of know what to expect with Tesla and uh it's just different and because there's no engine noise in these vehicles, you can just hear and feel and see a lot more inside the vehicle because it's so quiet and so it's like a trade-off uh for sure. B be the barber. Do you trust full self-driving? Actually, be I probably take it to the uh you know, I definitely vibe with this statement right here that um Gregor Truck posted. Quote, I don't know, man. My supervise is feeling kind of unsupervised lately. And here's a great video because when you're driving in a Cybertruck, when you're driving in a Model Y, if you kind of just sit back, relax, it will take you to your destination. Now, navigation is on another hand. Uh because that's kind of interesting because it will take some weird routes sometimes, but it will still get you if you're okay with taking the long route uh because it's pretty good at this at this point. Corey, do you think the lease deals will get better in September for a premium all-wheel drive? Yeah, 100%. And that's why I'm saying if you're going to be leasing right now, it is not the best deal for a Model Y. Now, if you're going to be leasing a Model 3, it is a fantastic deal. So, if you're going to be doing that, don't forget to use a Tesla referral code just like the one down below in the description. So, you can also get three months of full self driving added to your Tesla order as a bonus.
In this next topic, Tesla's quietly probably fixed the rattling problem of their Tesla vehicles. They've patented a new clip trim clip here to reduce rattles and vibrations. Take a look at this. It's a lowprofile rattling mitigation trim clip. It's the different because in a Tesla vehicle, if you don't believe it or not, there is a massive amount of trim clips. I know there's probably some people watching here that have taken apart their Tesla vehicles or worked on service for Tesla vehicles, and there is tons of clips. It's just clip central all over the place because everything is just clipped in. if you wanted to pull apart your own Tesla vehicle, you literally cool could just by yanking the different panels off uh from that. And so it seems like Tesla has really tried to figure out how can they make these clips a little bit better to kind of reduce the rattling because a lot of different Tesla vehicles are going to rattle no matter what just because of the nature of electric vehicles and how quiet they are versus an engine vehicle. But still really cool to see that Tesla has been trying to work this and hopefully this trim trim clip starts to roll out and maybe we'll be able to buy if we want to retrofit our older Tesla vehicles or current Tesla vehicles as well. But one thing for sure if you want us to reduce some rattles and keep your interior clean is to get some all-weather floor mats, some rubber all weather floor mats by 3W. Our absolute favorite, especially when you use promo code Dennis 35, you get a massive 35% off. So, if you're looking for a floor mat for as lifetime warranty, perfect fitment for your Model 3, Model Y, and other Teslas, definitely check out 3W down below in the description and use promo code Dennis 35 for a massive 35% off.
We do have a giveaway today. So, if you want to win this Cyber Cab windup racer, all you have to do is hit that like button and just be active in the chat.
You can say hi, you can say hello, you can say whatever you want to say. And then once we get to 67 likes, we'll pick a live winner live on stream.
Bobby, what is your specific prediction for the Model Y L timeline? I think it's going to be quarter 3 of this year. And actually, we'll probably talk about that maybe this weekend. I think the Model Y L will be a big hit in the US. Carl, it all depends on price at the end of the day, right? If it comes in at 50K, I think that's a good price. if it comes in at 6070 because you got to think about it, they don't have the Model X anymore, so they could kind of do whatever they want and price that whatever they want. And you got to think like Tesla will change prices on a dime.
Uh and so certainly if they could release it at 65K and it's not doing well, they could just drop the price 10K and no harm, no foul, but at least they will at least attempt to do it because they can because there is no Model X anymore. So there's a massive gap between think about there's Model 3, there's Model Y, and then there's Model Y performance, the top end of the market for the Model Y, and then you jump to the Cybert truck at what, 69,000. So there could be this in between. I'm not saying it will be 60K, but it could be 60K uh for the Model Y L. So my question to you all is, will you pay $60,000, $65,000 for a brand new Tesla Model Y L?
In this next topic, Elon is jumping.
Elon is joining Trump in China. Now we know why the delivery event was pushed, cancelled, and delayed for the Model S and the Model X. This could be big for Tesla. This could be big for the US.
Very interesting to see this. If you're a Tesla shareholder, I mean, it's pretty good, pretty good to see that Elon was at least invited to the party. But it seems like a lot of different US CEOs was invited as well. We've got Tesla, Apple, Microsoft, Google, Black Rockck, Amazon, JP Morgan, Chase, Boeing, and Costco. So maybe there's going to be some massive deal that's going to be brokered here. Here's a nice rumor.
Trump and Xi Jinping are reportedly considering a deal to allow China to invest $1 trillion to build factories in the US. So maybe this is why Elon was invited. And could this mean could this mean the beginning of China EVs being built in the US if we just take a look at it from that level? Of course, factories could mean a variety of different things because there's all the different companies out there, but still very interesting to see this. and let us know what your thoughts on it on what could be happening here. It seems like there's actually a bigger list with that. Cisco, Visa CEO, Boeing CEO, uh Tesla as well, Apple City, Mastercard, Meta, uh Goldman Sachs, G Aerospace, and others, uh Qualcomm and Micron, uh being invited to the play here. So, very interesting to see this. And let us know what your thoughts on it. Let us know what you're thinking.
We do have a giveaway today. So, if you want to win this Cyber Cab windup racer, all you have to do is hit that like button and just be active in the chat.
Once we get to 67 likes, we'll pick a live winner live on stream.
I get my CT wrap tomorrow. Nice. Uh, John, what uh color are you going with?
Uh, SB City Boy went with this like beautiful like steel blue like matte satin look. I think that was like one of my colors on the list. Uh, very very very kind of like gunmetal like fighter jet blue. I guess I don't know how to like try and like relate it, but it's uh very very very nice. On top of that, we will be at the uh Cybert truck meetup.
Speaking of Cybert trucks uh at the Tesla diner by Unplugged Performance, it's uh next Friday. Actually, not this Friday, next Friday. We'll be there. So, if you've got a Cybert truck, if you got any Tesla vehicles, pull up because we will be there. And if you do have a Cybert truck, I've got like five or 10 Cybertruck accessories that you can have for free. It's like interior stuff. Uh, so send me a DM if you're going and I'll make sure to bring it or I'll probably just give it away from the back of my Cybert truck because it's kind of just sitting and collecting dust. And some of it's pretty cool like the underscreen mount and other things. So if you've got a Cybert truck, if you're actually if you're in Los Angeles and you've got a Cybert truck and you want these accessories, uh, send me a DM and maybe we can coordinate a pickup or whichever.
You have a CT. I hear there's no ASS with it asks. Yeah. Is that true? And does full self driving work as well as the other models? Yes, no smart summons on the Cybert truck. However, the full self driving is pretty good. You It's It's If If If we were to put Model Y at a nine, Cybertruck is like a eight. So, it's just not as good, but still really good. Uh, but there is some differences between the two.
Jennifer, I love my full self driving, too. Last night, it slammed on the brakes and I saw I didn't know why until I saw a rabbit ring out from the grass in my headlights. Yeah, I mean, it's quicker. I mean, it if you think about it, full self driving has a lot more set of eyes than we do because of all the different cameras. So it is much more quicker to be able to re react and see whichever uh see whatever on the roads to keep us safe at the end. And I mean the other day we talked about how like the cameras are what 70 milliseconds faster to deploying airbags in a Tesla vehicle versus uh another Tesla vehicle.
So it's really cool to see to be able to do that. Took the Model 3 to service this week for repeated active cabin temperature without me turning it on mostly when charging at night. They didn't have a clue how to fix this. Have you heard of that? Oh, interesting.
Actually, maybe put it on low power mode. That's what I do. The funny thing is like Gregory, uh, whenever we te bring our Tesla vehicles home, I always try and put it on low power mode to reduce the phantom drain. It's just a great way to try and keep uh Tesla vehicles as much battery as possible.
What does China sell the Model Y L4?
Carl, great question. I think it's like the 4850, but of course, China has always like if you do the conversion of all the different Tesla vehicles converted to USD, it is much more cheaper across the board.
Joshua, how much would for you to fly to Massachusetts to oversee my Tesla purchase? Joshua, I'd love to. That is just a little bit too far. Going from West Coast to East Coast is always such a it's it's a hike. I mean, what six, seven hours plus flight time or plus airport time. Uh, I would love to, but uh it's it's a little bit too far. Sorry I'm late. Maybe this was already asked.
Any additional incentives coming from the Model Y Premium or wait for the end of quarter 2? Should I wait, Jay? I would say wait. Yeah, if you can wait.
My advice has always been the same. If you can wait till the end of the quarter, which will be end of May, June is the last month. You should always try and wait to see if there is a better deal for sure.
