This analysis effectively uses quantitative metrics to expose the gap between mere brand awareness and genuine audience interest. It serves as a sharp reminder that in a saturated market, visibility without engagement is a precursor to financial failure.

Here's Why Supergirl Will Likely BombAdded:
Hello ladies and gents. Did a video yesterday where I was discussing Supergirl's projected box office takings and how it it just didn't look very good to be honest. It wasn't uh very good at all. And loads of people were like, "Well, how wait a minute. This is just an a prediction." I'm like, "Yes, yeah, it's just an estimate." Yeah. But they base it on quite a few things actually.
And in today's video, we're going to be talking about one of them, which is interest.
So interest can be gauged by various tracking organizations. Uh well it is gauged by various tracking organizations via a few metrics and one of those tracking organizations is Cororum and fan interest is dropping in Supergirl at the moment. So, when I did that video yesterday, just sort of discussing the potential box office takings, this is one of the reasons why it's estimated to not have a very good opening weekend. Some people did kind of not I'm not naming names. I'm not calling anyone out. Some people did I'm not going to say even argued with me, but some people did push back a little bit and was like, "No, this will make money." I actually I think it will struggle to make money. You know, you know, some people were like, "Well, if it hits this number, it's a success."
No, if it makes money, it's a success, right? Like Superman only made money.
It was actually called Superman, wasn't it? Was it Man of Tomorrow?
I think they did. They dropped the Man of Tomorrow. They did, didn't they? They dropped it. Anyway, whatever. It doesn't matter. Anyway, Superman, right, only made money, as we now know, courtesy of the sale of Warner Brothers, only made money because uh of licensing merchandise, which is actually like quite a bad recipe to be honest, when you've got a movie, you know, like you want your licensing to make additional money, not be the reason why the movie makes money. If the movie doesn't make money, but the licensing is the reason which it ends up making money. You're having to do creative accounting to get to the, you know, making money point, which is bad. And I don't think this movie is going to make that much money at all. Uh, I think if anything, it may genuinely struggle to break even. You know, there's some reports that the budget for this is like a h 100red to $150 million, which when you're looking at this type of film, $100 to $150 million is not that much money, right?
For a superhero movie, it isn't that much money. I don't see why we're spending such insane sums of cash on these movies anyway, but sure, they are.
But that still puts the production budget in terms of break even point, okay, at $300 million if you're taking the higher estimate. And then let's say they add another hundred million for marketing, which is genuinely what happens sometimes. That sounds insane.
It is insane, but that is what they do.
So then that puts this movie at $500 million to break even. I think this will struggle.
Okay, that there's no world where this doesn't struggle in my head anyway. And there's actually a few reasons for that as well. Um, you know, there's been a there's been a whole bunch of bizarre things like this this for instance, right? Millie Orco basically uh like mocking Christians, which was like really odd. Uh, basically uh singling out critics as anonymous burner accounts or profiles of names like Dada for Christian, which she calls hilarious.
basically suggesting that uh Christian dads are like losers or something like that. It was a bit of an odd one was a was a bit of an odd one. This is a Vanity Fair interview, right? And you know she never specifically said men only people and argued the backlash proved her point which is a bit of an odd one. She said something about like weird ownership of men's bodies. It's like right okay. So she then described some of the criticism as coming from faceless accounts, burner profiles, or someone calling themselves data for Christian, which she she said was hilarious. And it's like, well, I don't I don't think Christians are hilarious. I mean, you know, whatever floats your boat and all that. Um, it's a bit of a weird thing to do, like bit of a bit of a weird hill to die on. And then again, that's why you're now getting uh tracking going down. Okay. And like I said, this is courtesy of uh individuals like Cororum.
Okay. It's a Cororum and this was shared via Puck News uh have Supergirl holding at 53% on awareness. So people people are aware of the film. Now that may actually go up uh in the coming weeks because they've just began to ramp up their marketing for its release. Yeah, that's right. It's coming out very very soon. Bet you didn't know that. Uh oh, also if you did miss yesterday's video one, hit subscribe and turn those bell notifications on. Be really good to have you here more often if you got this far.
I mean, you clearly like the video, right? Um, but yesterday's video basically had this movie down as hitting the Marvel's money, which is a disaster. These movies are typically frontloaded. If this does the Marvel's opening weekend, then that's well, that's bad. There's no two ways about it. That is bad. U, but anyway, it has now dropped.
Um, interest has now dropped. Okay, so awareness is still there, but interest has dropped by two points from 48 to 46%.
So that's bad because if this movie is frontloaded, which superhero movies typically are, this movie is estimated to do somewhere in the region of again the Marvel's money, right? So people are still aware of it and the marketing's began to ramp up, but the interest has started to decline.
then that shows the disaster on the horizon like like official flop territory. Uh which is pretty godamn bad. So Cororum tracks movie awareness and interest through audience surveys giving an early look at which upcoming films people know about and want to see.
So the awareness number staying flat is not the worst news um which is something which I've just said. But what is bad is interest dropping right. So again, people are aware of it. It's a month away, but yes, interest is going down. People are like, you know what? I'm actually not I'm not that bothered about it. I don't want to watch it.
Uh I don't want to watch it. And earlier tracking had Supergirl at 53% awareness.
So, you know, that's still there again, but it's that 48% interest now. 46% just going down and down and down. more and more people know that it's there. More and more people are aware the movie exists and will know. Well, well, they're saying that the percentage has remained the same. Um, so I I guess by their metrics, no, more and more people don't know the movie exists. But still, the interest in the movie, said movie, uh, has now just begun declining, which is, yeah, real bad. That's, um, that's disaster territory for Supergirl. So, this is a bit of a follow-up really like people asked like how how and why these estimates exist and things like that.
Well, this is one of the this is one of the ways that they exist. Um surveys, interest, are you going to go awareness, etc. Uh and and then there's multitude of other ways as well, but this is just one of them. And this spells a disaster for the movie. This is not good uh for DC, for anyone else. If you don't care, who gives a It doesn't mean anything to anyone at that point, does it? But if you care about DC and you are DC and you are Warner Brothers, then this is not good for you and them. Anyway, leave your thoughts down below. Like I said in midway, hit subscribe if you are new here.
