They're already feeling the heat. Um the transportation cost, the cost of essentials have already gone up. We've seen how the milk prices have also increased. The auto and taxi fares are also uh increasing with these uh uh price price increases. And uh the CNG prices have also been hiked in the past few days. The CNG prices have also gone up. It's not just the fuel prices that have gone up, uh which is also impacting uh the public transport, the autos, the uh the cabs. So, those uh prices, the fares are also going up. So, it is clearly directly impacting the arm army.
So, another setback for the common man.
The uh this price hike is going to pinch the pockets of the common man. This is the fourth hike in 11 days. And uh more hikes are expected in the coming days.
So, it's not just that uh the the hike will stop here. This is not the end.
More hikes are also expected in the coming days. This comes amid the amid the West Asia war. There's still no breakthrough that has been achieved. Uh the crude prices uh impact uh the prices of the petrol and diesel. And hence we're seeing uh this hike. And uh Prime Minister Modi had already uh urged the people, had made an appeal to opt for carpooling, and to opt for public transport, uh to opt for metros.
And amid that appeal, we're seeing uh the hike in the fuel prices as well as CNG prices also. So, the petrol and diesel prices have been hiked once again. This is the fourth time that uh it has been hiked. And the hike has been of 2.61 rupees as far as petrol is concerned. If you talk about diesel, diesel prices have been hiked by 2.71 rupees. Let's also take a look at how how does the figure the prices look like in the metro cities? Uh so, if we talk about Delhi, Delhi in Delhi, the petrol prices have already crossed uh the 100 rupees mark. So, the petrol prices are over 100 rupees. Uh earlier it was 99.51, now it is 102.12 in Delhi. Uh let's also take a look at the other cities. The diesel prices are now at 95.20 in Delhi. If you talk talk about Mumbai, in Mumbai the petrol will now cost 111 rupees uh per liter, whereas diesel will now cost 97.83 rupees per liter. So, that is uh uh what how the situation looks like in Mumbai.
In Kolkata, the petrol will now cost 113.51 rupees per liter, whereas diesel will now cost 99.82 rupees per liter. If you talk about Chennai, Chennai uh petrol will cost 107.77 per liter, whereas diesel will now cost 99.55 rupees per liter. So, essentially the petrol prices have already crossed the 100 rupees mark, and the diesel prices are now approaching the 100 rupee mark with this hike.
