Growing Again (SH Delivery)Added:
Hey guys, Jeremiah with Stepps Pressure Washing and More. Today, we have two jobs on. One of them is a relatively good size job.
And the other one is just a simple house wash. The first one we actually got was is a referral um from a yard sign customer from many years ago. We've been working with this family for many years.
And this one actually we do a uh semi-annual gutter clean. It's our early stages of selling packages. So, this one we sold um you know, semi-annual gutter cleaning. We come out twice a year, clean out the gutters, and uh do their skylights. And I gave them a ridiculous price. I still hold with that ridiculous price, but every year they kind of have me do a little more and a little more.
And they've referred me to their neighbors as well. So, it's it's worked out well for both of us. But, today we're going to be washing their house along with doing their spring gutter and skylight cleaning. Uh the second one is going to be for a contractor we do a lot of business with. Um and we're getting the house cleaned up for him so they can go out and do some painting. And uh it's going to be a pretty smooth day. Looks like we don't have any sunshine, which I'm totally down for.
Before we start, I have a full mix tank. Uh I had 20 gallons of SH left in my uh two blue tanks over here. Pardon the mess, but I've got uh two full tanks or two empty tanks now. I had 20 gallons left in one of them. 5 gallons of SH I put 15 in my mix tank.
We are getting our very first SH delivery today. Um so, yeah, I went down, talked to MVP Services up in Raleigh.
Um they're going to send a truck down with two full barrels for 110 total gallons of SH. I can't believe we're doing it, finally doing it. I remember back in the day they used to try and talk me into buying 55 gallons at a time, and I said there's no way I could ever use 55 gallons. I was going down and getting 10, maybe 20 gallons a month.
And so the idea of me getting a delivery of 110 gallons is is it's something. I I I would use the word absurd, but you know, it's it's people go through more than that.
Uh it's just as we grow, our needs grow bigger. And I really don't want to take two afternoons off to drive to the pressure washing store and back um just to get 55 gallons at a time. I could probably do 110 in the Nissan. I just don't want to max it out. And it's also a free delivery, which is awesome. So as long as I get a 110 at a time, they will deliver it for free. So we are ready to rock and roll with that.
Uh I don't know how often I'll be able to do it. I'm assuming this will last me through June, maybe into July. It's been probably 3 weeks since we got our last order and we went up and got 60 gallons.
So 60 gallons in 3 weeks, we should be done by by early to mid-July with the 110.
But we've also booked a lot. Uh we have I think more revenue booked for June currently than we'd done in all of July or all of May. It's going to be exciting to see what June looks like at the end of the month cuz we haven't even started the month. So we still have a whole month of June to take phone calls and book appointments. And we still have a lot of appointments left. It's definitely going to be a wild first couple weeks of June.
Um that's one reason why I'm really really grateful that we're going to have plenty of SH on hand. We're going to We're going to make it happen. Anyway, let's get out there. I can't believe I'm rambling. It's 4 minutes in. Uh let's go out there and check out these properties that are getting cleaned up today. Might actually be right here now that I'm looking at it.
It's a nice little chunk out of this thing.
Um but yeah, when I do find the pinhole, either way, it's too close to the end of the line to be the end of the line.
So, we're going to mark it today and hopefully take it somewhere that we can get it repaired.
All right, moving right along. Was not able to find the pinhole, which I'm not 100% sure what that's about. Um, but I'll keep an eye on it today.
I'll make sure to use that hose on every job.
So, if there is a pinhole, maybe just maybe I was only seeing it because I was using my 4 gallon a minute machine and it runs at about 4,000 PSI. This one runs at about 3,000 PSI.
Maybe it just needed a little more pressure to be able to break through. I'm not sure, but I'll keep an eye on it.
Maybe I'll just have that one repaired anyway.
Um, because of that gouge in it, that's probably where it's coming out of.
Um, I do have another 150 on the way. It'll be here over the weekend.
I just wanted to make sure that if I was not able to get it repaired, if it was not usable, I would have a hose, um, for Benjamin to use. We've got Benjamin coming out with us on Monday this week.
He's going to be, uh, helping us out.
We've got four jobs on the schedule.
None of them are super impressive, but uh, it would be nice to have an extra set of hands while we've got a good steady flow of this.
All right, going to let this hang out for just a few minutes while we rinse the the west side.
And we'll come back and give it a rinse.
All right, all done washing, all done with the gutters. Now we're going to do these skylights. This is our 20-ft Equipmax pole. I don't have it all the way extended, but it is set up with our half cubic foot zero DI tank. This little guy right here does amazing things. Um So, I'm just going to go ahead and scrub these down. I've got one up here that I'm going to have to take the ladder to, then move the ladder over to get two more.
Uh but this is a heck of a lot easier than getting up there with a mop and squeegee.
This is where having a helper or a Uni-Valve comes in handy.
Um leaving this set up down here.
Walk around, climb up the ladder.
Release the whole lot of purified water.
Let's see if I can do this one-handed on this little guy.
Now I'm going to have to go two-handed for a second just to scrape some of this off. All right.
Quick final rinse.
And we're done.
Now this is going to spray till I can get back down there to shut it off.
There she goes. Just over or just under 3 and 1/2 hours.
And we've got the gutters, house wash, and skylights.
We are ready to go to chat with the customer and head to the next one.
>> We're going to active construction site today.
Trying to stay out of the way as much as possible and we'll work together. Uh this is pretty really tall uh cuz it drops off so hard.
Um it's almost maybe even like a story and a half drop down. It's only three stories, but it feels like four.
But the four gallon or eight gallon a minute should be no issue.
Yeehaw.
Luckily getting a little bit of a break from the wind on this one.
The last house I was at was very windy.
And even though the peaks were not quite as high, I was still having a little trouble making it work.
Not on this one.
Come on through. And what do you know, it's been kind of a crazy day cuz everything has run pretty smooth.
Uh we're on our last job, the last side of our last job.
And we just cruising today.
Uh it really is nice that we only had two stops.
And this one we actually we were only supposed to have the one job today, but this one they called me over the weekend and asked if I could squeeze them in and I said, "Yeah, buddy."
It really is not the most time-consuming thing. I'll get you a time after this. I run the timer on my HouseCall Pro app.
And that's every job gets timed. So, when I ever come back out, I'll probably never come back out of this one, but it's just a habit.
Every job gets timed.
And I'll know how long it's going to take me next time.
Or I can track my progress to see if I'm speeding up or slowing down or anything like that and um I don't really need it to estimate how long it'll take me.
Uh it's just nice to know.
But I'll pull the time off of the HouseCall Pro app and show you what we got going on. It's really nice. There was no prep other than doing some tape on electrical outlets and doorknobs.
Um you know, they have no patio furniture cuz there was no deck when we arrived. They're building a new deck.
They actually just took a quick break.
Went inside so I can wash the back of the house.
And here in just a minute they'll have the whole house back to themselves.
Last side always gets an M5 downstream rinse.
This allows me to flush my injector.
And generally if I've got a front porch that needs a little more distance I'll do the uh always try and make sure the last side is that front porch.
That way I'm doing super low pressure in those close quarters.
But this one I didn't roll that way and ended up rinsing mostly with the X-Jet.
And just a little bit with the M5 downstream before we got down to the soap.
And this job has been awesome so far.
And again, this was from a contractor.
We've been working with them for years um since 2023, so about a little over 3 years now.
And uh they saw my truck sitting at a red light with the lettering on the side.
And they gave me a call and gave me a chance.
And we've been working together ever since.
Definitely seems like they've been picking up cuz they're calling me a lot more.
Um and I'm grateful for it.
Um hopefully that continues going in that direction and we'll have a long and prosperous relationship.
All done, 1 hour and 17 minutes. In and out. I'm all rolled up and ready to rock and roll. Nope.
I lied.
Tape.
All right, so we're probably going to be at like 1 hour and 19 minutes on this one.
But it came out really good.
It's ready for a fresh coat of paint.
Yep, can't forget the tape.
All right, really, really simple job.
Um, again, it was an active construction site, so I didn't get a ton of footage just because I don't want to record every single person walking in and out, and uh, you know, we have a relationship to maintain with that vendor. Um, that contractor has given us a lot of work over the years. We want to make sure that we're keeping him as happy as possible.
Um, so, you know, when we do a good job, it makes him look good, and we want to make him look good as much as we can, because as long as we're making him look good, he's going to keep calling.
Um, you know, we're not we haven't raised our prices on him in the 3 years that we have been working together, and I don't plan on raising my prices on him anytime soon, because again, um, like yesterday, when I'm getting all these referrals coming through, I'm not having to pay to acquire every job, you know.
Um, so, he's easily making this job $50 more profitable for me, because I'm not having to acquire a new client. Uh, that being said, I do give him a pretty decent discount, so he makes that back, uh, for being my advertising. I guess that would be one way you could say it, but uh, yeah, it's been pretty pretty smooth day, really, really smooth day. Um, thank you to Mr. Henderson out in Texas. Uh, I got your order for your X-Rod. So, I'm going to go on home, get that packaged up and ready to go for you.
Uh, if you guys are thinking about getting the X-Rod, go ahead and get your orders in when you get a chance, because we are going to be going to pick up another batch of X-Jet parts next week, so we will have a full resupply of everything we need to make the, uh, the X-Rods and get them shipped out. So, uh, make sure to go ahead and place those orders. They are available through our website, stepwash.com, and I'll get those shipped out as soon as I get the parts. There it is.
There it is. 110 gallons of sodium hypochlorite.
12.5 Yeehaw! Ready to rock and roll with that for the next probably month and a half.
All right, transferring in to these two that are in the garage. I may end end up investing in a drum dolly. That way I can just move those two straight into the garage rather than having to pump them.
That may actually be something I do next month if I'm able to continue doing these deliveries. Um it's just for speed. I mean, that that's a huge time waste having to pump those over, but um we'll see how much those those drum dollies are. There she is, ready to ship. That's a 4 gallon per minute Xrod. It's a nozzle only. We're not doing the full Xjet kit on this one, uh but this one is ready to rock and roll. I'm going to get it out in the mail, hopefully today, maybe tomorrow.
Um yeah. So, I I've been making I've been pre-making them so that they're ready to go. Uh it's just a little bit more efficient that way.
Um so, Mr. Henderson, this is coming to you very shortly.
All right, I'll put away now. We're about to take another long weekend.
Yeehaw!
Uh it's hard for me to imagine and believe it took us 6 years to where we were getting a sodium hypochlorite delivery.
As excited as I am about today's win, and it is a win getting to this point where I know that I can use 110 gallons in the next probably 6 weeks.
Uh it is definitely one of those "Wow, it took me 6 years to get here."
Not what I was anticipating. I was anticipating a much faster growth. Um you know, a lot of things played a factor in the speed of it. Uh mostly uh poor marketing and advertising. I'm still struggling with that. Um but as far as growing our client list, I really feel like we've gotten a ton of momentum uh in the past 2 years and it's just going to keep growing. I I definitely am feeling that and um I'm down for it.
You know, since we went full-time doing this, it has been a struggle. It has been a consistent source of anxiety for me and um I don't know, just today I feel like I finally made it to that next level.
Um you know, there's really no set course or levels or anything like that. I just I'm feeling like I've made it to the next level because I'm now getting SH deliveries um rather than having to go get it myself and going and getting 5 10 gallons at a time like I was doing my first and second year. Um it's definitely definitely makes me feel like we're at that that new new level and I am covered in gnats. I've been sweating all day long. It's so humid. Um but thank you guys for all of you who have been on riding along with us on this journey.
Um a lot of you guys have been watching since we had the Chevy Blazer as our only truck. And again, it's hard to believe we've we're a little over 3 and 1/2 years on the channel and um I've learned so much from you guys and hopefully I've been there to teach you guys a few things along the way. You know, we're all doing this together and um it works, you know? It is a good business.
It's a good solid industry and there's a ton of people in it and it's very crowded and very competitive. Um but the ones who have it are going to you know, push through. They're going to figure out a way to stay in business long enough to where they have a client list that they don't have to worry about competing with every single person who starts a new pressure washing business.
And um I'm already seeing stuff online where people are selling their rigs and I'm like I can't believe it. You know, we're in we're still in May. Usually we see those rigs go up for sale in like July and August. So um we'll see, you know, good luck to you guys out there. And I know that uh even though I'm not where I really thought I would be at almost 6 years in uh I'm glad that we are where we are now. You know, we could have gone under.
We could have called it quits many times. And uh it gets hard and um little victories like today, you know, a super smooth day, getting home a little early SH delivery sitting out front. I got most of my admin already taken care of while that was um transferring. And we're going to go from there. Call today a win and and hopefully next week next week's going to be a good week. The weekend or the week after that's going to be a good week as well. So I'm looking forward to see what June brings.
And uh maybe we'll hit a new record. All right. Well, thank you guys so much for watching. And y'all be safe out there.
